Overall I really like this product.
It is a balmy type of scrub. Its quite gentle and moisturising.
Love the fragarance too! I feel really pampered after using it.

For better exfoliationg effect I would turn the shower off (I apply my hair treatment as well so it has plenty of time to work) pat my skin with towel a but to absorb excess misture (but it don't want it to be dry) and apply this scrub in circular motion. Voila! My skin is soft and glowing!

I took one lippy off because this scrub is not very exfoliating (compared to my all time favorite L'Oreal), it costs $49.95 AUD in TBS store (I got it off internet for $20 which I think is more realistic price for it). And the jar can be a bit hard to use because the metal rusts easily, I have to store it away from moist places.

seems to me like the body shop either is a hit or a miss with their products...yes this scrub has a beautiful fragrance, yes its thick and creamy, but it just didn't do wonders for my skin, like it has been said to. i went into the body shop, with intentions of only to look at a few products, including the spa wisdom line, but after the SA praised this product, i was sold....a few problems...the jar, its annoying, but if the product inside was any better, i wouldn't care about this aspect.....however, it isnt. the exfolitation in this product is barely there, it just seems more or less like honey/shea butter, which sounds great, especially for all year dry skin. the only problem is that you're washing it off, so how are the moisturizing benefits going to work? salt is known to still dry your skin out incredibly, so youre still going to need a moisturizer after this! this scrub is basically a thick cream, with little bits of salt in it..it doesn't moisturize, most of the product just ends down the drain...lastly,.it doesn't moisturize because its not being rubbed into your skin, its just suppose to exfoliate, which it doesn't even do!, for the price, this product isn't worth it. ill stick to to a gritty scrub to get a proper scrub and then just moisturize after...

This is a lovely mild scented scrub. The texture is creamy and moisturizing. Its most outstanding feature is its amazing fragrance: comforting, warm and very feminine.
Actually, this feels and smells more like a product from a very luxe high-end brand than from The Body Shop. I have repurchased and will again, simply because of the unique scent. In terms of exfoliation, it's quite gentle (compared to for example, REN's Guerande Salt scrub, which is much stronger). Gentle enough for everyday use.
I do like the old-fashion tub packaging. However, as with most tubs (as opposed to tubes) water gets in easily if one opens it while the shower is running. Moreover, the metal wire that forms the opening and closing mechanism also gets rusty quite easily which doesn't look very nice.

My HG scrub!

It has a nice subtle scent so that when you moisturise afterwards your body lotion smell isn't tainted with another scent. I felt it smoothed on my skin nicely and exfoliated it really well. It goes nicely with the other products in the range. It's very thick, so you just need a little bit to start rubbing into your skin, then it softens and starts it's magic.

I have to agree with the other reviews that the packaging isn't great in the bath / shower and that the opening hinge can hurt sometimes, however I've just recycled an old TBS shea scrub jar with a screw-lid to use instead for the shower. It's fine when using it in the bath though - just open it before getting in and close it when your hands are dry.

I love this - I have already re-purchased twice now and have a backup. I really like the new packaging labels in the brown colours, it makes it look very posh!

I've been trying a few for a while to find my HG - from high end to cheap: from Soap and Glory, Clinique, Elle MacPherson and Ted Baker but this is still my favourite so far. This is the best scrub I've tried that feels like it's washed off properly.

The other scrubs made me feels like a greasy film was still on. Not this one! It dissolves so well and I actually feel clean after using it. It washes off really well. I'm sticking with this one from now on.

I was given a huge jar of this stuff as a Christmas present and I must say that it rocks!
Leaves skin super smooth and soft, doesn't sting my sensitive skin, and smells great too. I use it whenever my skin gets really dry, or whenever I feel like treating myself with something luxurious. You get quite a lot of product in the jar, and if you limit using it once every few days, it should last you a long, long time. Best thing about it is that it doesn't leave a thin film of oil like other body scrubs - your skin just feels naturally silky.

I love the smell of it, and it does exfoliate my skin and makes them smooth. I like the way it is packaged, because it has a tight lid which can prevent the humidity to affect it.

I went into The Body Shop to buy a replacement for my Coconut body scrub, but picked this up instead after a demonstration by the sales assistant. It is more expensive than their other scrubs, but the container is huge, and I think you use less of the product each time.

I experimented a bit, first trying it in the shower, but found that the salt granules dissolved too quickly, and the packaging was a little difficult. I found that the best thing for me is to apply the scrub before showering (you only need a relatively small amount. It is quite thick, but body heat quickly 'melts' it a little). Once in the shower, I think it's best to not wash the scrub off, but just let the water run and dissolve the salt, leaving the moisturising base to do its work for as long as possible. It also makes a great shaving cream/gel/whatever for your legs once the 'scrub' bit has dissolved.

I felt that my skin was incredibly smooth and soft after using this scrub, and there was no left over film or greasiness. Great for those who need extra moisturisation. And I love how the jar looks on my basin, though it's not the best if you take it into the shower with you.

I tried this scrub for the first time straight after shaving... OUCH!!! Don't do it!! The salt stings!

This smells heavenly, and the jar looks good but isn't actually that practical. It's very hard to open when your hands are wet from the shower, but whatever, so long as it works, I'm all for it.

You take some scrub out and rub it over your skin until the salt grains melt and you let the shea butter melt into your skin -- when you wash off and dry off, your skin smells and feels so good!

I bought this scrub because the saleslady recommended it to me. When I initially used this scrub, the salt granules were too fine and didn't do much exfoliation. But I love how the shea butter literally melts on your skin.Though it did leave my skin feeling very soft, smooth and moisturized.

I love this stuff. I will use this stuff forever, I swear! Ok enought gushing, but I think this product is perfect. Although I doubt the formula came from anywhere near Africa, the "Spa Africaine" name makes it seem a step above the regular body scrubs and exfoliating salts of the world, and it is! When you open this stuff, the smell is earthy, calming and has a natural sweetness like a mix of cocoa butter, bark and vanilla bean. The formula is thick but not at all goopy. The exfoliating salt is fine and not at all scratchy, just effective. I love to use this stuff on any area of dry winter skin that needs a little maintenance. A little goes a long way, and while the salt is exfoliating, the rest is lathering and leaving skin perfect. It also rinses clean but leaves its yummy smell. Awesome stuff!

This scrub is one of my favourites of all the body scrubs. It smells heavenly and the smell lingers for some time. My skin is very smooth and moisturised after using it. I used it every 2 to 3 days. The body balm get absorbs better after using this.

Packaging is bad, it is very difficult to open and get the contents out. Very expensive too, I only get it during the sales.

PROS: spa-like smell, decent exfoliation, tub lasts a long time

CONS: broke me out at chest and back area (not for sensitive skin), don't buy if you're not a fan of vanilla scents

I guess I'm in the minority here since I didn't like this scrub at all. It didn't spread well on my skin, and I noticed that most of it just ended up on the shower floor. What's more, it didn't seem to scrub my skin at all. Instead, just irritated the h**l out of my sensitive skin. Although the jar looks luxurious, it's extremely inconvenient to use while you're in the shower.

I love this scrub. It's very thick and isn't too rough. I usually don't like salt scrubs because it irritates my hand when I rub them in, but the shea in this product leaves my body moisturized and smelling fantastic! I miss this product when I run out.

I like this body scrub very much, for me, it's rather gentle and doesn't scrub hard, so I use this on half damp skin most of time. I have rather dry and delicate skin though.

It's a heavenly feeling when I rrinse, my skin is so soft and smooth, if it's in summer, I needn't apply any body lotion afterwards, the shea butter is moisturizing enough!

It has a deep, earthy, sensual, MASCULINE scent to it. Which I like, I LOVE the entire Africa Spa line, but this product, is almost painful. The salt is a little, too natural. It seriously leaves cuts and tears on my body, which REALLY hurts considering it's salt, so it stings, AS it's slicing me up. If your not a pansy like me, you'll enjoy the earthy scent and unique texture... but if you don't like micro tears all over your body, avoid this product.

I absolutely LOVE this scrub!

I have dry skin on my body, but I cannot stand when it feel sticky or oily. This is the only scrub that I've tried so far that leaves my skin nothing but smooth! Not oily. Not sticky. Just smooooth...

And the scent! Divine! My FH can't stop kissing and sniffing me after a shower.

However, I do admit, it doesn't scrub very much. I often apply it with an exfoliating towel, or on partially damp skin.

The packaging is beautiful, but not very convenient. I transfer a small amount to another pot in the shower.

i so didnt like this one!! i bought it since i loved the scent of africa spa body balm.. but this scrub is no where near that sweet smell.. i hate its smell in the shower and even aftewords. i went layering myself with cocoa body butter to get rid of its smell. even its scrubing feature isnt as good as the other body shop ones. i just cant wait to get back to the body shop brazin nut body scrub.
