Not keen on this one unfortunately. I do get an oily nose in the summer and thought this product would help minimise that.
Though Dermalogica have made some beautiful products...this one seems as though it was not quite perfected..doesn't provide any moisture..none! not necessarily good for a moisturiser. i did however use it throughout the day when my nose started to get greasy-looking. it was very good at mattifying it then..but i wouldn't use this morning and night as my face would just be far too tight.

Far too drying!!! I couldn't even smile with this on my face!! My face looked red and dry, hurting and stinging... :(

It does not hydrate at all, and it does not tighten pores! So what does it do? Nothing!

There are a lot of products better than this one - do not buy if you have acneprone, sensitive skin!

I went in search of an oil control lotion when summer set in and my old standby, Origins Matte Scientist, stopped doing its job in combatting oil breakouts. I like the Dermatologica oil control lotion because it is light and watery in texture. I hate applying heavy creas on my face.

The lotion blended in well, leaving no streaks or pilling. I like the squeeze dropper container. However, product does tend to accumulate around the tip.

As far as controlling oil, I still need to blot after a few hours. However, I experience no breakouts on my face, which tends to happen with newer oil control formulas. This lotion contains no silicones, so I don't have to worry about clogging. I also didn't experience any irritation using this product.

This oil control lotion's price is rather prohibitive. However, since it does what it claims and a little last a LONG time, it might be worth the money. I can't say I've found my HG oil control formula, so I can't say I'd immediately purchase it again. I can say that I would give it a future buy.

I started breaking out last week which terrified me.....I'm weaning my 14 month old and at this point with my last child I started breaking out into an adult acne covered nightmare, so you could imagine my horror when I saw three cystic zits develope overnight. I decided to go on the offensive and went through my huge pile of skincare samples and found the Dermalogica oil control lotions. Over three days I used this twice a day in tandem with Neutrogena pink grapefruit salicylic acid scrub and B. Kamins acne gel, and lo and behold the cystic acne is GONE. GONE. I'm thrilled beyond words. I definitely attribute it to the three products I used....at best, my acne lasts a minimum of seven days, so this is a tremendous improvement.

This is my new face lotion whenever this happens (now I need to track down a whole bottle). THe one downside (hence the one lippie less): I noticed it gets mildly flakey after an hour or so, but a spritz of toner evened it out again.

I have an oily T-zone and bought this product thinking it would help control it. It seemed to work when I first put it on in the morning but by the afternoon my shiny forehead could have lit a dark room. It doesn't feel good on my skin either and I feel like it caused some of my breakouts. I would not purchase this again but I still love the Dermalogica line.

I used this moisturiser twice daily for about 5 months until it ran out. Nice packaging, the screw-on lid is a bit annoying for me but the dropper is hygenic. It is a thin liquid, quite watery in texture that I felt benefited from a good shake before application. I did see some improvement in my skin but overall not a lot; it sometimes struggled to moisturise my cheeks sufficiently whilst not really combating oiliness in the T-zone. I don't feel that it did much to help my mild acne either, other than not exacerbate it. It was very gentle and non-irritating (pretty much the reason I was attracted to Dermalogica in the first place). I would have repurchased but instead decided to shop around, in short it was a nice moisturiser but didn't totally meet my needs so I bought something else instead. I would consider repurchasing if I were to go back to a Dermalogica regime.

I've never had a problem with this lotion. I mix it with the daily moisturizer and I'm good. I don't have to use it a lot so it gets lost under my counter.

I should have read the reviews here before purchasing. This is a light weight lotion that provides virtually no moisture and no oil control properties. It completely dried me out and did nothing for spots either. It comes in a hygenic dropper bottle and is virtually a liquid. This was a useless product with very low efficacy.

Hm, is this a treatment or a moisturizer? I guess it depends on the skin.

I use this as an oil-free moisturizer and I love it.

Pros: sinks in quickly, light texture, controls oil (for the most part), didn't irritate my grumpy skin (like Cetaphil and Aveeno do)

Cons: pricey (oh isn't the whole line, though?), you will need to blot during the day (it's not a miracle worker).

after reading most of the reviews i didn't think they do this product justice. i think the problem is the product is a cross between being a treatment and a moisturiser therefore customers are confused. I tend to switch between this and a nivea version depending on how oily my skin is. I agree that it's oil control properties aren't the best but combined with a mattifying product such as a primer or dermalogicas mattifier then it works great as a moisturiser for oily acne prone skin. It shouldn't dry your skin out if you truly have oily skin, and if you are using any prescription topical acne medication then take extra care with this as you will flake! i'm sticking with this lotion, as i like the matte finish and additional acne clearing properties its gives without the drying/inflamed response i usually get from similar products.

I bought this. I tried it a couple times and hated it. It made my skin dry and flaky, which caused the oil grand work more==> more oil. However it did help to dry up some minor blemishes.
Never buy again

Edited: I tried to use this product again with Skin Hydrating Booster applied first. My skin isn't dry anymore, indeed very hydrate and less oily throughout the day. Pimples got smaller and dried faster. Great.

Once I saw oil control on this bottle I just had to give it a shot. When I put it on it made my face feel rough, I had exfoliated right before and it was super smooth. It's about... 4 hours since I put on this lotion and my t-zone is really oily. For Texas weather, right now it's about 80 degrees. I don't think this would help at all when the weather goes up to the 100s. I will be taking this back tomorrow.

i like this product ...i dont use it as my moisturiser i put it on at the same time as my moisturiser and i like the way it makes my skin look and feel. i dont have particularly oily skin so maybe for people who do have this, this product may not be so great but i like it and i think it helps keep my skin clear which is the main thing!!! I use the claring mattifyer in the mornings as well as this and my forever aloe propolis moisturiser .

Not what I expected.
Not moisturizing enough on my combination skin, drying on some spots.
Got the nice oily shine again in no time. It's as if you need another moisurizer to put this over. My skin did NOT like this.

Won't buy again.

A good summer-time moisturizer and/or hormonal type breakouts. I have combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin and this is a pretty good moisturizer for me. I cannot use most benzoyl peroxide based product because they irritate my skin and make it extremely red. I do however do well with salicylic acid based products. It sufficiently controls the oil in my t-zone without over drying the other areas. In the wintertime, I only use it around my time of month as it tends to be too drying during the winter months.

have been using this for 3 weeks now. I feel that is is a bit pricy for what you get. It is light weight and does seem to make my make-up last longer because it does control my shine and oil production. I use it after using my mattifying mask. I use the Shisedo Smoothing Compact Make-up and it stays on longer if I apply the oil control lotion first.

I have a combination skin. This made it too dry and tight even on oily zones, even though it doesn't stay oil free for long enough. Will not buy it again.

Got this as part of the Skin Kit for Acne Prone Skin but I'm definitely getting a fullsize once I run out. This is the first moisturizer I've tried that really does make my combo skin matte for a longer period of time. Using this together with the Anti-bac cleanser means that my skin doesn't feel moisturized enough in the evening though so I don't see myself using those two products together at night or in wintertime.

I haven't actually tried this product yet but I'm confused by the reviews that say (in an accusatory manner) that it's "drying" and "not moisturizing"....ummm....isn't that the point?! I plan on purchasing it and I'm sincerely hoping it dries my skin out. I have a moisturizer specifically made for oily skin that I use. I'm just saying that I wonder if people are using this for the wrong reason and then don't like the results.

I have really really oily skin, so oily in fact I powder my eyelids before I apply eyeliner to them. So needless to say I am always quite excited to try products that claim to leave your skin looking non oily.

This product does not deliver, my skin didn't feel moisturised, and I figure using a moisturiser underneath would just be defeating the purpose right. And I was an oil slick by the end of the day. Waste of money, very disappointing.
