I love love this perfume, it's the sexiest perfume ever! I've always been into heavy perfumes with woody, patchouli, musky kind of base notes and this one is no doubt a winner. The lighter fruity floral middle and top notes compliment the muskier side of it very well. When first sprayed the smell is almost overpowering so do so in the bathroom and an hour before you actually go out. After the alcohol evaporates, it leaves a warm, sweet, sexy smell that lasts for a long time, like days. It may be too strong for the office but do wear it on dates, it'll help you ooze sexuality!

This is the perfume I always return to. As another reviewer said, what else would make a young man ask a 50 something woman what the lovely scent was! It must be down to body chemistry. I just know that it works, and when I wear it, people compliment me on it. I am currently trying Chloe, but think I will return to Allure S. It is my favourite of all.
update: I was asked in Canada this month again by a stranger!!

What a fantastic fragrance -

I loved Allure when it first came out - and then someone suggested I try Allure Sensualle - which I like even better than original Allure. It's warmer and has a stronger vanilla base, with some other notes I can't quite ID yet - but there's no musk in it on me, thank goodness. This fragrance stays warm, soft and does NOT get sharp on me, which I love.

When I wear this, it lasts all day and people seem to really like it. My husband loves it, too. It's a winner - will always keep this on on hand, that's for sure.

Oh I was excited about this one! Back in the old MUA days (about 7 yrs ago for me) a generous swapper sent me a large sample of the original Allure EDT. I felt the epitome of class when I wore it.. yes, it had a sharp note that I didn't particularly like, but I didn't care--I was ready to buy it. By God, it was Chanel! I had to have it! Then someone sent me the EDP, or I think it was more the actual perfume itself. After two wearings, I retreated into fetal position and had to admit: Chanel scents are just not for me. I felt a failure as a woman. Waaaah! Ok, so seven years pass and a SA gives me a samp of Allure Sensuelle EDP.. ooh-la-la, now we're talkin' bebe. I'm bathed, wrapped in fleece, feeling very, well, sensuelle, and I spritz a bit on my wrist, rub them together, a tiny bit at my throat, which I distribute around. Mmm that delicious beginning the scent has, I'm confident every man within a one-mile radius--including my husband--is curiously sniffing upwards, wondering what siren it calling to them.. big time sensuality (sorry, Björk).. and then that dang sharp tang of Allure of old smacks me down. What? They didn't temper it? Why not? *irked* If I were one of the noses who created this scent, I'd have insisted it be softened--sensuelled!--with a cozier note(s) such as a good-quality musk, or even sandal, for God's sake. At least it goes through some phases during its dry down, ending with a powdery note, and--of course--that blasted sharp tang. Maybe the EDT would be nicer?

Another quite heavy Chanel! Nice but quite over-powering, definately not for the weak kneed.

This did not work well with my body chemistry - to add to the blah factor on me, it also smelled like incense. It was long lasting, but the scent just bothered me to no end.

This is a nice scent for the colder months. On me it's VERY spicy, it's a nice scent but very strong. It smells very synthetic, perfumy with spices thrown in. I couldn't imagine wearing this in hot weather I could see this being able to grab hold and choke the life out of someone. If worn lightly in the colder months it's a nice scent nothing spectacular.

EDIT: Okay I've been wearing this for a few days. Once it dries down it has a lovely scent. It's not as strong as the initial spray and it's quite pleasing and comforting. I sprayed my sheets with it and they smell heavenly.

I've now been wearing this for about a year. What a scent. It really grew on me. It's like a spicy, floral, with warm vanilla at the base. I get asked all the time by men what i'm wearing. I've bumped this up to 5 lippies for the fact, I now love it and wear it almost everyday but also for the fact its the perfume I get asked about all the time.

I remember smellling this in a French Magazine 3 years ago and being less than impressed. I remember not liking the muskiness of it at 17. Well I'm 20 now and my taste has changed dramatically. I walked into a fragrance shop last week to peruse and browse. I walked over to the Chanel section and picked up my go to Chanel fragrance, Coco Mademoiselle. Then I thought, I might as well try something new. That's when I picked up this gem! The smell is utterly intoxicating, I love the mixture of florals with bourbon and vetiver. It deep, rich, and sexy. This perfume is for a woman, a confident, classy woman. It is indeed a very French scent. I read that it was inspired by one of my favorite french actresses Anna Mouglalis. The fragrances creator was impressed that such a beautiful feminine woman spoke with such a deep, almost masculine voice, it's a very sexy quality. Sexy enough to create a fragrance for. Ironically, when I smell this, I think it smells like my perfume and a man's cologne put together. The Perfect blend of feminine and masculine! But it's NOT unisex, Allure Sensuelle is all woman.

How many fragrances have I tried over the past 35 years? I can't begin to count, but probably close to a thousand. I have an evil body chemistry which seems able to wrestle a fragrance to the ground, yank out one single note, shove it under my nose, amplify that one note and make a thorough balls-up of it. Sensuelle contains in addition to the other notes, rose, jasmine, patchouli, and vanilla. All of these have been problematic for me in just about any other fragrance I've tried, and generally turn incredibly strong and cloying on me. Sensuelle is so beautifully balanced, that somehow the spice and the gorgeous bourbon fruitiness, and all the other notes smooth it out, and it works perfectly for me. Warm, voluptuous, long-lasting, tough to describe because not one single note predominates, and on my skin, it plays nicely all the way to the end. This is the ONLY fragrance I've tried that wherever I go, perfect strangers are sure to ask me what I'm wearing, Having a much younger man appreciatively sniff and then approach a 54 year old woman to inquire what she's wearing speaks volumes for the universal appeal of Sensuelle.

i have to say that is my perfume of the moment. i really think that for my skin chemistry this smells better than anything i have ever put on. and the compliments i get on it are consistent. people just say plain and simple, "you smell good". this is not a sweet smell, and to me it does not try to hard to break ground or be totally different than anything out there. i thinks it's perfect. not to mention ONE spritz of this is the perfect amount to last and last all day.

I don't understand how this perfume could get such a bad rating, because it's a GORGEOUS scent!

This is one of sweeter scents from Chanel, and this is more proof that they know how to do "sweet" without being cloying, or -- horror of horrors -- annoying.

Sensuelle is definitely spicier than the original Allure, and veers (perhaps) a bit on the boozier side, but not so boozy that it loses the class, poise and relaxing vibe of the original scent.

But, if you're looking for more descriptives...

On first blast, Sensuelle doesn't start out sweet. As a matter of fact, it starts out very spicy and almost has an "aftershave" scent.
When the perfume starts drying down, the sweet balances the strong herbal top-notes.
The basenotes resemble the original Allure with the cool/warmth of the scent, but the spice that was there in the beginning still lingers in the background while giving the bourbon and vanilla the spotlight.

In essence, wearing Allure Sensuelle is much like wearing the original Allure in the manner that it's like wearing different scents in one -- it may come on a little strong at first, but it tempers down into a sweet and sultry scent deliciously sensual and quite addictive.

I could not love a perfume more. Before I got this, I swore that Vera Wang was my scent for life, but I spoke too soon. I received a small rollerball sample from a super MUA'er (I sincerely wish I could remember who so I could say THANK YOU!) and KNEW the moment I sprayed it that it was MY scent. This fragrance is sexy and confident, and it makes men go weak in the knees! I'm not kidding :)
I have the EdP, Parfum and lotion. I'm not good at picking out notes or breaking down the lovely fragrances 'in' there but they all blend together beautifully. I have read that some people think this is appropriate only for night time or for colder weather, but I completely disagree. I wear it daily, regardless of weather or season, and it always smells amazing. I get compliments where ever I go, a lot of the time from strangers, and from men and women alike.

This is my perfect fragrance. Normally, my body chemistry doesn't mix well with heavier oriental scents but Allure Sensuelle is gorgeous. I never get tired of it and get tons of compliments. I know its supposed to be an evening scent, but I wear it night and day during the cooler months.

I love all of Chanel's perfumes and have all of them. I can't say this is my fav since all of Chanel's perfumes are my favorites. It's just dependent on my mood of the day. I do agree with others who have described this fragrance as a more sexy and sensual one. They're dead on, on that one! Definite repurchase! Chanel perfumes are my HG fragrances.

Warm and sexy...spicy and sensual...the ultimate femme fatale fragrance. I get TONS of compliments whenever I wear this (especially from my fiance, who loves the way it mixes with my natural scent.) Men go nuts over this, women will ask you what youre wearing (so they can go snag some for themselves!) Definetly a scent best for night, a bit too heady for daytime wear. I also tend to wear this more in the winter, the warmth and depth seem more suited for the colder months. Regardless, I love it- I try not to wear it too much, just ocassionally, to keep it special and not just part of my daily routine. The bottle is classic and looks sophisticated on a dresser or vanity- its hard to get more chic than Chanel! Definetly recommended, kittens!

The ONE and ONLY Chanel perfume that actually leaves a memorable and seductive scent behind! I have smelt all sorts of high-end perfumes (Chanel, Dior, Hermès, etc.) and Allure is one of those that I remember the scent clearly yet I want to go back and spray some more on just because it's that good. The first time I smelt it, I thought it was a little strong (I had the Parfum) but the scent just got better with time! This is my favorite fall/winter perfume!

This is rich and beautiful. I am in loooove. This is going to be my HG evening fragrance. My husband says that it suits me. Yay!

There is a problem though. I have the EDP and it's too strong for every day. Someone even told me that it was too strong an hour after one spritz. I would love to have a complement to this that I could wear during the day that was less musky. Maybe the lotion will work. Allure is too powdery for me. Please PM me if you have ideas!

Leontion - who's review is further below mine - remarked on the 'jammy' note and I absolutely, 1000% agree. It IS jammy-like, and is enriched by the patchouli and vanilla.

When I first spray it, it smells boozy and fruity in a darkly vibrant way. There is absolutely nothing gourmand about it at all; in fact, when it dries down, it is warm, feminine, rich, deep.

I wore it the first time last week, on impulse. I was wearing a leather corded necklace, and sprayed on Allure Sensuelle and forgot about it. A few days later, going through my jewelry, I detected a wonderful scent emanating from my drawer. I lifted out the necklace and there it was - an amazingly feminine, sensual scent still lingering on the cord. (Side note - if you love a fragrance, spray it on leather or suede - carefully! - and enjoy the lingering effects.) I was in love immediately, and have been wearing it every day since - in hot, humid weather no less. I can't wait for fall and winter to spray my bags and coats with it. Hell, I may even spray my boots.

I bought the large EDP and I hope it will last me through to 2009, but I doubt it.

I'm going to buy the lotion next.

This is my every day perfume. I am a student with a very limited budget, however, this is the one thing I readily pay $120 for. I smelt this scent one day when i was at the mall and repeatedly kept on sampling it not sure that I wanted to spend so much on a perfume. The scent was sooo wonderful that I had to buy it. I have been using it for almost two years. I get so many complements on it. Strangers will often ask me what perfume I am wearing. This is definitely a showstopper!

Allure Sensuelle is a powerhouse perfume, along the lines of Opium and Coco, but it has a modern edge that is very interesting. I don't care for the original Allure, but in Sensuelle the patchouli, frankincense, and vanilla give it a marvelously warm, rich feel. It is tres elegante, very sophisticated in the French tradition. Definitely best worn in the cooler months, as it is quite strong, but the lotion would work beautifully in any season. If you are a fan of orientals (in the true sense, not the candied, watered down versions that are being marketed today), then Allure Sensuelle is something you must try. The pure parfum is a slice of heaven. I could see this becoming a HG for some women.
