I tried using this twice but it just didn't work out for me. I'm looking for oil control. Moisture in my skin was never a problem but being greasy is a huge problem. I don't have excessively oily skin. My T-zone usually get oily withing 2 to 3 hours of wearing anything and without anything it would take 4 to 6 hours.
When i first applied this moisturizer to my hands, it was fast absorbing so i decided to try it on my face. After 1 hour of wearing it my face was an oil slick. I just can't stand it so i wash it off. Second time, i was able to wear it for 1 and an half hour and then wash it off. Summer is definitely too hot to wear this moisturizer, i probably recommend wearing this in the winter time if you have oily skin.

I stumbled upon this in my Warehouse 13 drawer of gratis from my days at Sephora and I decided to give it a try.
It makes my skin very soft and does my pores look a bit smaller. But ... that's because it's CHOCK-O-BLOCK full of 'cones, so I will not use it on a daily basis. I'm terrified of 'cones because I know they can be the cause of severe breakouts. It depends on your skin, but being somewhat acne-prone I'm not taking chances. However, because of that it could make a good primer, if your skin tolerates silicone.

I got this as a deluxe sample from Sephora, and I LOVE it. I have extremely oily, acne-prone skin, and this is the perfect moisturizer for keeping me from getting dry without contributing to worse skin. It absorbs obscenely quickly, you only need a TINY amount for the whole face, because it spreads around really easily. Great before my Mattify! primer and Alima foundation. Probably wouldn't be moisturizing enough in the dead of winter, but for now (and into summer, I imagine), it's great. $38 is too steep for my college-student budget, but they have 1 oz sizes for ~$12 on ebay, so I'll buy one of those when my current one runs out. I've had it for close to a month now and have used it every day--and there's still more left! If you have oily skin and want a good daytime moisturizer, I highly recommend this one.

I love this! It is a no frills (though expensive) moisturizer. I used to use this for mighttime, but since I've been using it every day I haven't been experiencing any new breakouts. I believe the version with SPF did not agree with my skin so I will stick with this. Love it! Oh, and I have oily skin :)

This is a great moisturizer for oily skin types. It's very light and not oily or greasy at all. In contrast to other non oily moisturizers it hydrates sufficiently and makes my skin feel really soft after application, without the dreaded shinyness. It's pricey but worth it!

I've been using this product for more than a year and actually thought I really liked it until I recently started a retinoid treatment and discovered how terribly this BURNS in conjunction with atralin. I thought it was really just that my skin was terribly dry from a combo of benzaclin and atralin, and that any moisturizer would cause the crazy stingy / burning / redness, but today I tried Boscia new nightly oil-free and absolutely NO burning. Sorry, DDF, looks like I'm trading you in.

I have been on the lookout for a moisturizer for years. I started with Clinique's Gel for Oily Skin and found that, not only did the product harden on my skin making a strange coating, but it didn't tend to the needs of my combination skin. I then moved to Lise Watier's moisturizer for young skin (it had a green jar initially). Much to my dismay, Lise Watier changed her brand and brought this new lotus-moisturizer for young skin ...which sucked. It burned when I applied it and smelled like my grandmother's purfume. I FINALLY found DDF ultra-lite and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. It does not leave any residue, it's moisturizing and leaves a matte finish. I really recommend this product to anyone who has been in search of a moisturizer.

I have been searching for a moisturizer that would moisturize without ADDING more oil to my combination skin. This is it! I apply this in the morning before my mineral foundation. It sinks right into the skin; my previous moisturizer left me waiting 5 minutes (at least) before I could apply powder. The finish leaves my skin looking matte and surprisingly soft. It's not a heavy moisturizer by any means, so if you have skin that tends to be more dry I wouldn't recommend this.
With this moisturizer I can go about 7 hours without having to blot any of the oilies - whereas with my old one I could only last about 2-3 before the oilies would rise.
Do try the 0.23 oz. / 7 mL sample size before spending the money on the full-size product - you can usually find these on eBay. You won't regret it (and even if you do, you'll be out $4 instead of $30+)!

This is an alright moisturizer. I have severe acne and honestly was expecting more out of this. I found it to be a pretty basic moisturizer. It did not moisturize my skin enough now that it is getting colder and drier out. I think this would be better in the Summer when my skin is oilier. This does not leave skin shiny so that is the biggest benefit. I loved not feeling all greasy after applying this. So this is an ok moisturizer, but for the cost it is really nothing special.

***Please read this review if you are planning to repurchase this product, or buy it based on pre-existing reviews.
Recently DDF repackaged this product in a new bottle. Previously it was packaged in a plain white plastic pump bottle. The new packaging features a new pump style bottle in a cylinder shape. However, IT IS NOT THE SAME PRODUCT.
I had been using this product for a few months with success as it is a very gentle product. I went to repurchase as I have many times and came across the new packaging. I asked the SA at Sephora if it had been reformulated and was assured that it was the EXACT same product it has always been. So I bought it because the ingredients listed on the back matched the ones on the box from my previous bottle of Ultra Lite Oil-Free Moisturizing Dew. I'm a cautious person though and have many problems with my sensitive skin. So I contacted DDF through their website asking for specifics regarding the new packaging. I wanted to know if ANYTHING at all had been changed in the formula. In a few days the company responded with this:
"Yes, we have made some minor changes to the Ultra Lite Oil-Free Moisturizing Dew. Some modifications have been made to create an even better version of our popular moisturizer. However, we think you will find this new formula to be very close to the original."
So I pumped a few drops onto my hand side by side with the original. The original has a more transparent gel appearance while the new version seemed only slightly more opaque and milky white. It seemed thicker too, but minimally so. The scent and consistency were very close, so I decided to try it on my face. Within a few minutes my entire face was bright red and burning. I've only ever had such a severe reaction with highly perfumed products. I cannot account for the reaction at all. But it happened and I have swollen skin and a sunburn-like effect all over my face, even after thoroughly washing my face.
So I contacted DDF by phone this afternoon and the representative said that they'd been receiving many complaints and similar problems from their customers because of the new reformulation but they could offer me no further details about the new product. They did offer me a full refund, but this does nothing to reverse the problem my skin is having to this new formula. Also, they wouldn't give any reasons why they would change a product that they've had a clear success with for many years. Also, they said that the representatives at retailers such as Sephora and Nordstrom's should NOT be telling their customers that this is the same formula as the original Ultra Lite Oil Free Moisturizing Dew because it is absolutely not the same product.
I only wanted to recount my experience in case other people were going to repurchase thinking that it was the exact same product that they had been buying in the past. Please use caution when trying the new formula.

HG moisturizer for sure!!! I have sensitive/combo skin that breaks out in acne or rashes with a lot of moisturizers and products. This moisturizer gives me enough moisture but doesn't cause any problems. Not sure if it would be great for really dry skin, as I have to use something else in the winter sometimes if I get really dry.

Oh, how I love this moisturizer.
Finally a product that seems to REALLY work on my combination 30-something skin!
It will moisturize my dry areas, while not causing oily sheen.
Flaky areas are moisturized and not white like some more drying formulations.
I love this product!!!!!!!
Would have given a 5 rating if the price were lower.

This is a great if not perfect moisturizer for my slightly oily, sensitive, acne prone skin!!! It is very light and the texture feels very dewy on the skin, sinks in very well, not sticky or oily.
Since using this I have been getting much less breakouts (could be due to BCP/retin-a kicking in but either way) I am very happy with this product.
Great packaging, very neat, easy to travel with.

First, the good points: this moisturizer is lightweight, sinks into my skin quickly, is unscented and has a sunscreeen (SPF 15), and it does not irritate my sensitive skin.
However, since I have combination skin with a very oily T-zone, I expect a moisturizer formated especially for oily skin to have some kind of mattifying properties, and this is where it falls flat. After just a couple of hours, my T-zone is very shiny, so I have to keep blotting the oil during the day. I will have to keep on looking for my perfect day cream.

So far this is my favorite moisturizer. Hoping it does not contribute to breakouts - will update if it does. Have been using Peter Thomas Roth oil-free, which is also great, but I like the light consistency of this one better. Works great under makeup. UPDATE: Think this may have contributed to minor breakouts, dropping a lippie. Sticking with Peter Thomas Roth's Oil Free Moisturizer instead!

I'm still on the fence about this product. The product does exactly what it says: light-weight with spf that doesn't leave you feeling greasy, but I just don't know if the $40 for a SMALL amount is worth it. I bought it this week and have used it a few times and it does feel really nice on initial application, but I honestly did not feel a difference from other moisturizers I have used before, and was still a bit oily by the end of the day (which is my norm). I wonder if I can return it to Sephora. My challenge is finding a true light-weight moisturizer with spf for the summer...and it looks like I am still on the hunt. Although this is a nice light moisturizer with spf, I will not buy again primarily due to the price. I think I will try Neutrogena Dry touch ss next...saw great reviews so we'll see!

OK - first, don't know that I would BUY this again -but would hope to swap for it! $40 is pretty steep. However, this is the best moisturizer I have used for my skin type. I have oily skin, that is also sensitive. This is the first thing I've found where I feel moisturized, but not greasy, and I don't break out. It absorbs quickly, and my foundation goes over it, nicely.
Smell is pretty non existant. Kind of like Cetaphil or something.
The only reason I gave it 4 lippies is for the price - yikes! $$$

Selected if I would buy this product again I said yes, but probably wouldn't due to price.
I RIS this product and it usually sells for $40 at sephora. I have slightly sensitive skin w/ red cheeks & lower forehead. However this moisturizer was really really light and did not have any sort of burning/heavy sensation on my skin when applied like some other products. I felt that it actually soaked into my skin instead of sitting on top. Really really like, but will continue to search for a cheaper HG product! :)
