Lilhenna took the words RIGHT out of my mouth. I so wanted to love this rich hunter green as well, but I can't, for different reasons. Yes, it is dry, but the formula is still workable. My issue is with the color. On my NC42 skin, it shows up BLACK. I already have blacktrack, so I don't need another. :-( I tried this with a darker lid color and it showed up black. I tried it with a pale gold and it was black with a faint green tone. Maybe this will show up better on someone with a lighter skin tone. I'll use this up but will absolutely not repurchase. I went back and got brighter colors that will hopefully show up better - brassy, royal wink and jadeye.

I WANTED to LOVE this product, I really did, BUT... it was too dry. I love fluidlines, but each has its own consistency. This was too difficult for me to work with; too dry. I had to return this one. I'm still giving it three, because the color is lovely, and if you have more time than this lowley graduate student, I'm sure you can make it work. I'm an NC42 for reference purposes.

I really love this Fluidline. My favorite is Blitz & Glitz however, Shade, is a subtle change from the basic black. Gave my blue eyes a little pop.

This is a little drier than some other f/ls and the colour has been discussed her. i just wanted to add that if you hate any shadows like club/ brown green piggie try this as a base and i promise you'll live in a happy green world, lol . i love it even as a liner topped with blue green piggy and teal to make it pop and more special. it look so good as a base for smokey eyes underneath humid, femme noir and many other greenish/blue colours. i would repurchase anytime , i can't believe i waited so long to buy this 'boring green' :)

Deep emerald, or forest green, with a matte finish. Darker in jar than on skin. Color is more vivid when dries. Just what I wanted. Color shows up well on my DDD (NW45) skin. Very pretty with my dark green mascara. Smooth texture. Easy to apply. Stays put. A welcome addition to my gel liner collection.

I love Shade. I have a ton of fluidlines - Blacktrack, waveline, nonconformist, graphic brown and sweet sage and Shade is the one I reach for most often. I have green eyes so this is a great alternative to black liner. It stays on my lower lash line longer than any other fluidline.

This is probably my favorite fluidline. The dark forest green shade is so dark - which is what I look for in a liner - it's almost black. I wear this with any green shadow and looks terrific. It also pairs well with brown shades. Of course, as all fluidlines, it wears like a dream - all day with minimal smudging. This one does seem a bit harder than my other colors, but its still easy to work with. LOVE!

I’m in love with Shade...5 lipsticks for the color and formula, even if the formula alone is only a 4. Shade was my second fluidline, bought right after they came out. The only colored liner to make it through my colored e/l phase, the deep, cool toned, forest green makes my light green eyes look like emeralds...how could I possibly say no? Dark and matte enough to define as a soft black liner would and remain subtle (nothing garish about Shade) with enough whisper of color to make your eye color shine. I wear Shade all sorts of ways...as a smooth liquid liner look, smudged or as the primary shadow for smokey eyes. I wear Shade almost everyday, and am only now on my second pot (one pot can last for a few years) nw15-20, light green eyes, almost black hair.
The fluidlines are HG liners for me (both Shade and Blacktrack) and I never see myself being without them. My oily lids make everything run, but with the help of an eyeprimer, the fluidlines last all day. They do tend to dry out over time and turn to more of a thick paste consistency instead of the soft cream that they are when first purchased. I actually prefer them somewhat dried out, it makes them easier to work with for me. Very versatile product, so play around with smudging the line or perfecting a liquid liner look...they can take some practice but oh so worth it! $15 for a small 3gram pot that can last for a few years...I’ll definitely repurchase.

I absolutely love the MAC fluidlines and this one is no exception. Shade is a very deep green (hunter green) color. No glitters. It almost looks black in the jar. It is a quite versatile color. I love to use it with green e/s and many other looks too.
As always with MAC fluidlines the quality is nothing less than fantastic! I highly recommend trying the Fluidlines. You won't regret it. Staying power is amazing. There is no smudging and it is so easy to apply. I usually apply it with the MAC 209 brush.
Packaging is a little glass jar. The price is pretty cheap considering a little goes a long way. I don't think I will use this up anytime soon. I have discovered that these does not dry out as quickly as for example the Stila Smudge pots. In addition the MAC f/l have better texture which makes them easier to apply. The Fluidlines are definitely the best gel e/l I have ever tried. The best e/l I have tried period.
I will definitely repurchase!! This is HG material for me.
For reference: I am a pale blonde with blue eyes.

This is a very vesatile dark green shade. I love it with all my blue/green e/s looks. Staying power on the fluidlines are very good though not waterproof, i use liquidlast if i want BUDGEproof. Packaging is the little glass jar, and i have never had a problem of mine drying out before and i have had this since it first came out a year or so ago. I use 209 brush when applying lower eyeliner and the 208 for lining the top liner.

Oh so pretty, Shade is an uber-dark, nearly black teal which I must admit I've pretty much fallen in love with: it's pretty much the colour of green bottle glass, really, richly green with just the right amount of blue undernotes to make it nice and vibrant. Of the fluidlines I've got (Macroviolet, Frostlite, Haunted, Bitz 'N Glitz), this and Blacktrack are the two best-textured and smoothest to apply, which is another bonus.
Worn as a liner on its own or with green or blue shadows, Shade looks "nearly black" but with just a subtle bottle green softness to it... worn spread thinly over the whole lid as a shadow base (I used this with teal glitter for one gorgeous look), the bluish "teal"ness of it comes out with beautifully..... really pretty and long lasting, too.

I’ll admit, I haven’t tried many MAC products, and I am absolutely terrible at applying eyeliner generally (I can line my bottom rims alright but never my actual eyelid). Plus, add in the fact that I can’t draw a straight line to save my life. I thought I had tried it all (high-end to low-end, pencil to liquid) and nothing had ever worked. That is, of course, until I tried a Fluidline. This product was a miracle for me. The gel formulation is so smooth that it makes for a, dare-I-say, easy eye-lining process? I mean it. I can actually line my eyelid now, with no mistakes! For the first time ever, it actually looks really nice.
This shade (haha) “shade” is a beautiful deep hunter green that’s almost black. You could wear it daily to give yourself just a little bid of an edge to the standard black. I would recommend fluidlines to anyone, especially those who think that they can’t make eyeliner work for them. Give these a try!

I don't like this very much. Its so close to being black that I tend to use black instead. I wish it were just a bit lighter, more of a forest green than a blackened green.

I love this! I was so anti-fluidline because it was hyped up so much, but I finally tested this and it went on so smooth. I love the color on my dark brown eyes. I am very impressed and may get other colors too...but I can't imagine liking another color better.

One of my favorite liners, I'll be re-purchasing as soon as I run low.
I kept looking at this one on the MAC site and almost ordering it, but I was afraid it would be too cool a shade for me. Then a few weeks ago, I found it in my CCO, and couldn't resist. Since then, I've been wearing it often. As a previous reviewer said, it's very dark, so it's just a little pop of color for days you don't feel like wearing black.

My HG of eyeliners . For years i searched for a dark green , nothing would stay on or glide on well. The color is deep forest green , out of all the fluidlines I think it glides on the best & looks even better with 2 coats.
Im on my 3rd jar of it , its worth the $$ since a jar lasts so long in comparison to a stick e/l. I use this 6-7 days a week , looks great with my light blue with a green tinge eyes.

Shade is gorgeous! It's a very very deep forest green, that looks just a little more intriguing than your basic black--this makes my dark brown eyes stand out nicely. Great texutre and color intensity to this one--it's a must in my collection!

As stated by other reviewers Shade can look almost black in some lights. Paradoxically, I find that if you layer it twice or three times the green comes out more. I was a little sceptical about buying this one with my colouring - NW20, very dark brown hair and blue-green eyes.... but I love it! Makes my eyes sort of shimmer (I was looking for a way to describe it, and saw another review use this term and it is spot on).
Shade looks softer than black, works well with neutrals - like Shroom, pinks and violets (Pink Opal, Creme de Violet) and greens (Chartru and Swimming).
Like my other f/l - Blacktrack - the staying power is immense, with practice it's easy to apply. I use a 266 angled brush and I used to be a real e/l dummy with traditional methods of liquid and pencil. Even wears off nicely if you commit cardinal MU sin of not washing it off, as I did on Friday. Was most pleased, as I was with my new BF and it went all sexy smudgy without being all over everywhere.
The packaging is alright, I rather like the little glass pots - something about it feels so dainty but ever so professional in one go!
Overall, I really like Shade and am off to buy many more F/Ls!
