I loved Sheer Veil from the first sniff. I compared it side by side with the original Vera Wang and something about it just delighted me more than its previous incarnation.

From the simple yet beautiful bottle to the sillage which isn't overpowering but strong enough to envelop you in this luxurious floral for several hours, I was completely smitten. So much so that I bought all three products in the line without a second thought.

It is a lovely enough fragrance to wear to weddings or out for a dressy date, and I find it very romantic and gentle without fading from my skin half an hour after I apply it.

I highly recommend this to anyone who likes modern florals that won't overpower every other scent in the room, but rather linger with you and touch those close to you. It is a little steep in the area of price for a department store fragrance, but not steep enough to stop me from buying it. And I would happily do so again. Hopefully this isn't a LE, as I have some fond memories associated with it and I'm sure we will make more together! I love it.

Ugh! Okay, this fragrance does not smell horrible, just not good. For $85 USD I can do without. It smells very generic, I guess you could say. And, it last maybe 2 hours on me. By the end of the day, the scent was long gone. I returned my bottle and got Vera Wang's new fragrance "Princess" which I love. Like another reviewer said, I hope no bride gets stuck wearing this on her wedding day. Nothing, and I mean nothing, stands out about this fragrance.

I was about to order a bottle of this without ever trying it - just based on the reviews - and thank God I didn't. I thought this perfume was discontinued, but I called up my local DS, and they told me they still carry it. So I went today to try it out and what a HUGE disappointment this was. As a reviewer said, it smells like a hundred other generic perfumes. It is not "sheer" at all, it has a strong in your face synthetic smell. I honestly hope that no bride gets sucked into wearing this "sheer veil" on her wedding night!!!

It smells alot like Ralph Lauren Tender Notes! I have both and could'nt believe the resemblence! I got mine on Ebay and got a great deal. Bottle is beautiful too. Very nice and feminine. Just what I wanted.

This fragrance is more girly the original Vera Wang, which I find too powdery, though I used to love it. This is very light, yet has staying power and is feminine. It's a blend of floral notes with a hint of fruit, yet isn't sweet on my skin. It has an almost "beachy" quality to it (as another reviewer mentioned) and should be perfect for spring and summer.

This smells beachy to me or a summery scent. I like how delicate it is just the right balance of fruit and floral. It's also sweet and it's not sheer on me lasting power wise. Expensive but worth it.

I much prefer the original Vera Wang to this one.
Original is a soft smooth wearable floral scent, not too sweet, not too sharp, not too musky. Not too much of anything. Very well-blended.
This one struck me as thin, sharp, and maybe too heavy on the citrus and/or violet notes.
Also, it didn't seem to last long at all.

Just tried Sheer Veil...like this one better than her original scent. Love her bottles...simple and elegant. I was initially very reluctant because when I see the word 'sheer' I immediately think, it won't last on me. Sheer Veil to my surprise, goes on and on. On me its more floral than fruity. It's a bright scent that is wearabe in any season, a nice change from my usual vanilla scents.
I see why she calls it sheer....its light, yet lingering. The lotion is identical to the edp, a nice addition to the edp imo.

Vera Wang Sheer Veil is a clean and sophisticated floral scent, very neutral without being sweet or spicy. It's a nice fragrance but not exciting enough for me to wear.

This is a light floral scent, with a sweet undertone. It's much more sutle and "young" than the original Vera Wang fragrance, which I did not fancy very much. The downside to this fragrance is that it's so light I could hardly smell it on my wrist an hour after spraying it on.

I love this fragrance!! Even more than the original because it's lighter and more girly. It smells like a dream, it also has a citrus note (to my nose). So pretty, I dont even know if I'll finish up my original Vera after getting this as a birthday present.

Smells gorgeous! It's very light but theres enough there to leave a faint trail of scent wherever you go. Plus the bottle is simple and elegant.

This is an elegant and sophisticated fragrance without being too overpowering, cloying, sweet or spicy. Perfect for spring and summer, or year-round in warm climates. A lovely white floral top note blooms into a profusion of heady violet, lily, with hints of rose, stephanotis and gardenia, drying down to a delightful soapy cleanliness that lingers all day. Lovely!

This is gorgeous, and I'm not usually one for "sheer" anything. I have a mini, and it is a precious little item. Love the color, and love the fragrance!

Oh, this fragance is beautiful! If you like violet scent, do not miss this. For the notes, other MUAers have given us perfect description. Yes, it starts with sweet but light floral note and turns to soapy and floral. I will purchase the original one (which is very rosy but light), too. This fragance makes me feel like a pretty summer lady. Love it love it.

Goodness, this scent is so beautiful. Other people have described the notes well, so I'll leave it at that. But on me, the smell is so nice. It starts off floral, with a touch of sweetness (but not near too much sweetness, as that gets cloying on me really quickly), then fades down to a soapy, light, floral with a touch of rose. It smells fresh and clean, and just so pretty. Even the color is so nice -- a pretty light lilac. The only bad thing is -- well, there's two: 1) it's limited edition (they'll stop selling it at the end of this year, I think), and 2) it's $85 for 3.1oz, which is so expensive! Gah! It doesn't come in a smaller size, either. But I'm getting up the courage to buy it for that high price anyway, and have it be my first perfume! Oh, and on me, the staying power is pretty okay, fading after maybe 12 hours. But then perfumes tend to linger on my skin, so I don't know, but I don't have complaints about how long it lasts. Anyway, this is absolutely beautiful! I'd give it 6 lippies if I could.

I just bought this yesterday. Normally, I do not like floral scents, but this one is clean and fresh as opposed to sweet and cloying. Doesn't seem to have much lasting power though. Perhaps I can't smell it on me.

NIce bottle, too.
