I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but my hair started falling out in bundles when I started using it. The hairfall stopped once I replaced it with another shampoo. Guess its ingredients don't agree with me.

I hated this because it made my hair fall out like crazy. I don't know if the shampoo itself caused the problem, but i controlled the amount of hair that fell out for a long period of time. until i noticed after i used this shampoo, it was back to its normal state.. ugh.. my mom loves it though because it helped her frizzy hair.

I picked this shampoo up and conditioner up at random. You don't have to have dandruff or a dry scalp to use it, I don't have ether. The product works great and it smells very clean. It has left my hair smelling fresh and looking clean. Its a little on the pricey for a drug store shampoo and conditioner i think its about six dollars per bottle. I don't know how it works as far as for people who do have a dry scalp and dandruff but even if you have healthy hair it does make a difference.

I was never really an anti-dandruff shampoo user but my scalp suffered from horrible flaking since I've used a particular salon brand shampoo and conditioner. Desperate to save my head (and hair), I decided to use this shampoo on a whim just for the heck of using an anti-dandruff shampoo for my suffering head.

I was kind of skeptic about it but after days of using this shampoo, I was amazed at how my head has drastically changed. No more horrible flaking without having to suffice the quality of my hair. My hair felt smoother and stronger than before. An addition to what I already love about the product - the price, the scent, and the quality.

To add up to this, ever since I used this shampoo (and the matching conditioner), my bacne (back acne) has has been in control that I haven't been breaking out on my back like usual! It's actually weird but I have bacne that won't go away whatever I do and use but after this shampoo, my bacne has slowly diminished. It was actually recommended by one of my dermatologists that I switch to an anti-dandruff shampoo so yeah.

I know that not a lot of people don't like the idea of using this but I love it and it's better than pricier ones, imho.

I got this based on MAU reviewers and while it makes my hair super soft, silky and bouncy, sadly, it makes my head itch slightly and enough for me to stop using. I'm so sad=(

I love this shampoo! I do not have dandruff, nor have I ever had it, but after trying my sister's I had to buy some for myself. Left my hair feeling clean and silky and controlled oil very well.

This is my favourite shampoo~ It doesn't try out my hair like most shampoos~ And I like that it has a very subtle scent to it :) The fact that it gets rid of dandruff is a bonus!! ;)

I love love this product! It smells great and really does smooth out your hair. I don't have dandruff, but a very itchy scalp. I read the Head and Shoulders website and it said that this would help with that. It did! I use it 2-3 times a week. It's definitely worth the price. I have only one problem with the bottle, it's really hard to open sometimes when you're in the shower!

So far, this is probably the best shampoo I've tried. It really does make my hair smooth and silky, I love it. I'm not crazy about the smell but it's pleasant. I actually found myself shedding less hair when I used this shampoo, which is something I've been struggling with. Ironically enough, this didn't do anything for my flakes, which is why I knocked off a lippie, but it's great for my hair.

So I see I'm not the only one who seems to get flaking with this shampoo--which is odd since it's a dandruff shampoo. My dad has pretty bad dandruff, and I kinda got that from him, except not as heavily. I'd just used up Refresh (minty) Head & Shoulders shampoo which was fabulous, so my mom had got this and I tried it, expecting at the least, the same flake-free results. Well, no, it did not. I've been using this for a week, shrugging off the fact that I was starting to get tiny flakes. Then I realized it could be the shampoo since I switched. I actually think it's making my hair poofier too.
This is sad because I really wanted to like this shampoo. But I guess I can just go grab another Refresh one.

Strangely enough this shampoo seems to be making too many ppl's head itch -- mine included!

Last night was the 1st time I used it, hoping it would control my dandruff, & I had no problems using it or managing my hair afterward. But today my scalp keeps itching in different places. Admittedly the itch is mild & random, but continually reappears & is too annoying to live with. This isn't what dandruff shampoo is supposed to do.

If I still have the receipt at home I'm going to refund this terrible shampoo! Aside from the itch, I liked everything else about it, so this is result was really disappointing.

This actually made my scalp itch. I don't have dandruff to begin with but wanted to use this to prevent buildup of styling products. I hate the way it feels on your hair when you're using it. It makes hair tangly and not silky at all. Now I have to deal with an itchy scalp until I can get rid of it by using another product.

I actually don't have any issues with dandruff; however, a couple of past winters I have dealt with dry scalp, nothing major but still bothersome. I used this shampoo daily and loved how it made my hair soft and smooth. However, I've been hearing stories about how H&S has caused baldness/thinning hair in some people....now, I don't know if these stories have any basis but I don't want to take the risk so I've stopped using it for past 8-9 months. I didn't have any problems while using it nor do have I experience any problems since I discontinued use. It's a shame because I really love how it made my hair feel and smell but the potential risk isn't worth prolonged usage.. 4 lippies for that lovely hair it gave me during the months I used it.

I don't like using this for everyday use because it can start to dry out your hair, but it is great if I am noticing some minor flakes in my hair that need a quick fix. I will always keep this in my shower since it is my HG dandruff shampoo.

I switched to this when Lush Big shampoo dried out my scalp and made me a hideously flaky mess. The weird thing is, when I first got out of the shower it looked like H&S had made my dandruff worse! After I had allowed my hair to air dry though, I couldn't see a single flake. So all in all I'm really happy with this shampoo. I don't think I'd have to use it normally, as my scalp seems to have gone back to normal, but if I ever have scalp issues again I'll definitely go back to this. I did the scalp test (stood over a black sheet and shook my hair everywhere) and everything was A-OK!

It also made my hair really fluffy and soft.

Age: 19-24   Skin: Sensitive, Fair, Cool   Hair: Brunette, Wavy, Coarse   Eyes: Brown

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Head & Shoulders formula relieves scalp itch, irritation, redness, and flakes associated with dandruff, while improving the look of your hair and scalp. Restores silky smooth look:
• starts at the scalp to smooth each strand and to calm dry frizzy hair.
• gentle and pH balanced for everyday use even on permed or colour treated hair.
• for best results on hair and scalp use Head & Shoulders conditioners.

Directions: for effective dandruff control, use every time you shampoo. Wet hair. Massage onto scalp. Leave on for several minutes. Rinse. Repeat, if desired. Use at least twice a week or as directed by a doctor.

MY THOUGHTS: My review will be based on the samples I received for Head & Shoulder's Smooth & Silky dandruff shampoo along with its complimentary conditioner.

The active ingredient, along with several other dandruff shampoos in varying concentrations, is zinc pyrithione. Zinc pyrithione is used in many dandruff shampoos due its antibacterial and antifungal properties, and resistance to ultraviolet radiation.

I found the texture to be high in viscosity (thick), and low in transparency (creamy). There was an attached fragrance to the shampoo; however, after my hair dried it wasn't potent enough for me to identify any possible notes. Lathering produced a substantial amount of foam which I can only credit to both sodium laureth sulfate and sodium lauryl sulfate, which are listed at the beginning right after water. After rinsing the shampoo out I noticed my hair felt rougher, and more tangled than usual (right now I'm using L'ANZA). To date, I've only used the product once and can only imagine that if used too frequently this will dry out your scalp.

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: 1% w/w Pyrithione Zinc.

INACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamide MEA, Zinc Carbonate, Glycol Distearate, Dimethicone, Fragrance, Cetyl Alcohol, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Magnesium Sulfate, Sodium Benzoate, Magnesium Carbonate Hydroxide, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Chloride.

This definitely didn't work for me. It worsened my condition and made my hair really oily. Like one reviewer said, if you WANT dandruff, try out this shampoo. What I want to know is, why are all these people who don't have dandruff using this shampoo, and swimming in lakes? Was there some marketing scheme I missed?

I have the other H&S in citrus breeze, which is also a 2-in-1, and that keeps the seborrheic dermatitis at bay. It works pretty well for what it is, but if you're trying to treat seborrheic dermatitis, you really should do some research online. You need to switch out the active ingredient in your "dandruff" shampoos for them to have any effect. I've had to move onto Selsun Blue.

This product is an absolute waste of money!
i bought it on sale for 2.99
and after using it for 4 weeks my scalp was very itchy
and flaky, i later switched over to a all natural shampoo
which in turn caused me to have severe lice.
i might try this product again to give it a second chance, but because money is tight i cant be throwing around 2.99 like water.
