When I first received this from a friend, I was not sure what it was or how to use it - and when used alone, I was not very impressed as it felt really slimy and oily on my face but now realize that I had used too much! Now, I used it as a base before Laura Mercier oil-free TM - and it's really really great. The TM goes on much smoother and throughout the day my face definitely gets less oily! I'm quite new to wearing so many layers (sunscreen, liquid powder,TM,powder) so was concerned to how oily my face might get near the end of the day but this has made such a difference. Because of my first impressions, I almost just threw this away - glad I didn't. It adds a nice glow but somehow helps keep the oil controlled ... still quite intrigued by this product. Would definitely repurchase.

This is a really neat product. I actually wear it under my foundation & it seems to go on better. Giving a more flawless look. I also tried it over my foundation & it's so cool, it doesn't make weird blotchy marks in my foundation at all. It really works. I was skeptical, but glad I tried it anyways. Oh & it feels sooo smooth, wonderful idea. I love it & I will definately purchase again.

i applied this on my face to test it out after i bought it...and it feels really smooth, altho im not sure i like all the sparkles in it, i wish it didnt have all that glimmer in it. BUT, after reading the reviews, im going to try it under my bare escentuals foundation (one product i cant live with out!!)

I LOVE using this as a primer under Bare Escentuals. I don't think I can ever go back to applying my mineral foundation without it. It makes the powder go on even & smooth. I had tried Smashbox's Photo Finish prior to Liquid Powder, & it didn't do anything for me. In fact, it made me break out. Because of that experience, I was hesitant to try this, but after I received it in the 10th Anniversary Set as gratis when I worked at Sephora, I fell in love. It adds a subtle sheen to the skin, & somehow does not feel as heavy as the Smashbox primer. It has also never broken me out. Most importantly, less is more when applying this product, so one bottle lasts for a while. Will absolutely re-purchase.

i got this as part of the anniversary set...i used it as a primer before i applied my studio fix....i love the texture of this product and it reminded me a bit of smashbox's...unfortunately, by midday...i still had to use about 2 blotting paper's like i originally did with studio fix by itself.....it made me less greasy looking but did not control oily t-zone at all...according to the directions, u can use this over makeup but i feel funny using this liquidy stuff over my powder foundations......

I generally like Cargo, so I was disappointed that I didn't fall madly for this product. First, it is too oily for my already-oily skin. If you are dry, then I would say maybe. Secondly, it didn't really do anything fantastic, that is after my makeup went on, I couldn't really say "Wow, this is worth the money". I would rather invest in a really good foundation that is more costly but looks better in the long run (e.g. my Chanel Double Perfection - which gives a silky powdery finish), than an extra product to layer on my skin. I already use a toner and a sunscreen under my foundation - how much do I really need?? Sometimes less is more.

This is a wonderful product. I use it as a primer, and makeup slips on and stays there--all through the summer heat and humidity. It doesn't feel cakey or thick, just smooth and clean. A real find!

I got this as part of the Cargo 10th Anniversary kit. Would have probably not noticed it otherwise but I'm really liking it. If you put this in the primer category I would say it preforms very well. If your expecting to get any coverage out of it however you will probably be disappointed. It's definately going to be a staple for me now though. I have been using it for summer as a primer/base for the rest of my makeup and skipping the whole foundation step. Love it!! Goes on smooth, not greasy at all and really helps the makeup stick. I am a devote of Smashbox Photo Finish but this liquid-powder is proving to be a real contender for my attention! Definately worth a shot if your looking for a good primer.

I hate writing reviews on products I'm on the fence about, but this product, at the very least, interests me so much I'm continuing to use it, if not on a regular basis. The first morning I used this, I could have thrown out the entire container without a second thought. It reminded me of Clinique Pore Minimizer, in the sense that it feels like I'm rolling light, shimmery dough on my skin. I don't believe Cargo's promise to "mattify" in the traditional sense, because it's shimmery, so it doesn't look like it's mattifying, it looks like it's... well, shimmering. But while saying that, it really is matte feeling upon the face, like a veil of suede over the skin. Fast forward a few hours later, and it proves it can do the job as a primer - it helps keep the makeup in place and the oil at bay. I don't like it nearly as much as I like my Smashbox primer, which, for me, is the ultimate in a mattifying makeup base, but if I found myself without the Smashbox, I'd turn to this before anything else. I will repurchase, yes, but not because it's a holy grail, but for the same reasons one repurchases a lipstick she doesn't necessarily wear every day. Just to have it there, and because no matter how basic or how blah, it actually does kinda work.

This product blows away Smashbox primer. Not only is this much smoother, but it adds very subtle shimmer and looks wonderful underneath my Bare Escentuals foundation. It also just lasts and lasts and gives a great feel to the skin, not funky and slick like the SBX primer. The powder-only foundations, including BE, tend to look like 1000 pounds of chalk loaded up on my face if I really want to get full coverage, but this underneath just adds a warm glow and a little bit of shimmer. LOOOVE!!

This is a wonderful product if you're looking for something light. The light/med looked way too dark in tube, but once you put it on, it looks totally natural- it just blends in. It also has a nice shimmer in the tube that 'glows up' your face in a natural way. I have very sensitive skin on the dry side, and it does not irritate at all. And, compared to all the other foundations I've tried (hello, Bareminerals...), 22 dollars isn't too bad. Great if you don't like a lot of product on your face but still like to look polished.

I love this stuff and have very oily skin, but I don't find it to aggravate my skin at all. It is very silky feeling and you don't need a lot of product. I usually put mine on over a TM, then I dust a bit of loose powder over that and it gives me a nice airbrushed look. It is a bit on the pricey side but I don't care, I just really, really adore it, plus, my BF bought it for me anyway! LOL ; )

I do not wear foundation, but I like this as a lightweight alternative. The main thing I like about it is the way that it minimizes my pores (I don't have fine lines, so I can't speak to that), and leaves a nice matte but slightly luminous finish. I have oily skin, but I don't find this to be greasy. It feels like I'm applying a serum, like OoO Regenerist. It leaves my skin soft and smooth, and has not made me break out even though I'm acne-prone. I have this in the med-dark shade, and like everyone else says, it's very sheer so it won't become brown on your skin like it is in the tube. Don't expect it to provide much coverage, but do expect a nice air-brushed effect. :)

I have to rave about this product as both a consumer and a makeup artist. I use this on clients all the time as a makeup primer to minimize pores/fine lines as well as make the makeup appear smoother and last longer. It double duties as an amazing mattefier on top of the makeup, only to leave a luminous and smooth finish because of the light diffusers. I even use it on myself around my eyes and on my entire face to smooth and mattify on top of a tinted moisturizer or alone. I cannot say enough about how this product works on all skin types, from very dry to very oily, and it feels silky smooth and cannot be overapplied (within reason, of course) like some primers I have tried in the past.

This is pretty much a tinted primer!! I believe it is silicone based, and does make a good base for foundation. It will make skin soft, smooth and it has very small shimmer particles in it that will make you skin glow. This does cause me to have the occasional pimple, but it worth it.
As far as using this as a "powder" on top of foundation I would be afraid it would just smear around my fndtn that I have already applied. I guess I will have to try that and update!!

I, too, wasn't impressed with this. The color match was ok (looked waaaay too dark in the sample I got) and the texture was ok. A little strange feeling but ok. However, this was a bit heavy feeling for my combo skin after putting on foundation and all. Maybe it would work by itself?? Don't know but wouldn't buy this product when there are powders out there much cheaper and less messy to use.

The concept of this was good but it simply did not work for me. I have oily/combo/acne-prone skin and this broke me out. It felt very nice (velvety feeling) upon application but my skin disagreed with it. Luckily, it was a sample.

I received a sample of this in my last order from Sephora. It's one of the worst products I've tried in a long time. It feels very oily and heavy on the skin. It truly felt like I had rubbed butter or oil on my face! It did not look oily, but it certainly felt that way. If you have dry skin, this might be your friend. Oily or oily t-zone gals stay far away.

Just gimmicky. There's nothing wrong with it, it goes on fine on me, but there's just no reason for it. The only Cargo product I've ever had that I just didn't like.

pretty humdrum. i'm a ppp and the light/medium is so sheer that the color (scary in tube) was fine. this is not a skin tone evener, this is an alternative to powder. it's very smooth and blends well. i, however, love loose powder so this is not for me.
