I discovered this pressed powder on accident and I'm so glad I did! I'm in the shade #22 which is yellow undertoned and it is the perfect match for me. The powder is extremely soft and provides a nice matte finish over liquid foundation or on its own evens out the redness on my face and gives a light finish, but is build-able to a medium finish. The powder can be a little drying, so moisturising before is a must otherwise it will exentuate any patches of dry skin on your face. I use a kabuki or a powder brush to apply it and it works perfectly, but I find the sponge given is alright for touch ups, but it just packs on too much product and can be a little cakey in my opinion. It has SPF too which is great for Summer, and comes in a wide range of colours in both pink and yellow undertones. The packaging looks a little cheap. Its in a bright blue rectangle compact, but that doesn't seem to bother me that much as long the product does a good job. Another thing I like about this is that they have refills for the compact, so its alot cheaper too. :) I hit pan awhile ago, so will definitely be repurchasing!

Za is my makeup brand when I Started university. It's cheap and covers my face nicely without looking cakey. I am nc25, shade #22. The watsons staff said this powder oxidizes but I haven't felt that it does on my face as yet. My za powder came in a really nice packaging w silver shimmers on the cover. I will definitely repurchase and keep this in my bag or touchup or days when I am feeling lazy. This powder sets in <1min it's so easy to use.

I've been using this for ages. It's the best two-way foundation for me so far. Lasts the whole day and controls the oil on my face. I love the fact that I can just get the re-fill, and also love the sponge too. Light-weight and a definite must-have.

I first noticed this foundation 4 years ago when I met a friend who looked absolutely radiant and asked her what she was using. She told me it was ZA and I was taken aback that it was drugstore product. I immediately bought it. Alas, I bought the wrong one - I got the whitening one instead and it irritated my sensitive skin. A few months ago, my mom bought it and I finally managed to try the actual product. I got compliments from my skin doctor who claimed I looked radiant. It doesn't irritate my (very) sensitive skin. I use it almost everyday and I think my skin looks great! It can be used with or without other products. Really love it!

I started using this foundation when I was in university (in my early 20s) and found that it was cheap and good. Then I earned my own money so I splurged on other foundations, and up to recently, I was using MAC. But, MAC is ex, and I decided to try this again after reading rave reviews of it, and I love it! It's affordable, and it gives good coverage. But somehow, when I apply it with a wet sponge, I tend to get a breakout on my cheeks. Doesn't happen when used dry. But I will definitely buy it again.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was first introduced to this 2-way foundation in 2005 when I read Xiaxue's makeup tutorial, but I first tried it in 2008 when I was able to get it off of Ebay. It was about $30-40, so I would say it's a fairly expensive foundation. I understand that it is cheaper in Singapore, so I realize that this may not be the case for everyone.

I have this in 23, and I really like it. I use the sponge either wet or dry, and I've found that it really does last all day, the colour doesn't oxidize, and it's so easy to use. I just swipe the sponge on the cake surface and apply in short, light strokes all over my face. I sometimes have breakouts and this covers up the redness pretty well without making my acne worse. I usually use this around the eyes (doesn't dry them out), around the nose/upper lip and chin to cover up redness and uneven skin tone, and it does this easily in one step. I've also found that this is great for combination/oily skin as it helps soak up some of the oil.

Colour shade selection is good, and you can buy just the refills without the case. I just keep the plastic cover and it's small and easy to bring around for travel without making a mess like mineral foundations.

I often try other makeups (mineral, BB cream, liquid) but I almost always come back to this one! Note though; the Za True White 2-way foundation cake breaks me out! I have to stick with the original one.

I would recommend this to powder-foundation lovers/users.

One of my favourite powder foundations from the drugstore at the moment. Was recommended to me by a friend who is also a big fan and has never been disapointed with it. It gives me a pretty light coverage which I find is wearable for school or work. Comes with a sponge, however I just use a regular powder brush and it works very well. Gives a really smooth matte finish, and I find that coverage lasts quite long, only had to touch up once throughout the day. Can be applied wet, however I find the dry application better for my skin type. Packaging is in a nice slim blue compact and comes with a nice big mirror that is perfect for any girl's handbag. One thing I really like about the packaging is that you can just buy refills, which is alot cheaper than buying the complete compact. Would definitely buy it again.

I like the texture it gave and how it evened out my skin tone and made it nice and matte while looking like I have very smooth skin. Some might find it chalky and all but I think its a matter of how you put it on. It's not very buildable though but it gives pretty good coverage. I tend to sweat ALOT (like 2 mins after stepping out of the house I'm sweating already) and I love the fact that this doesnt streak and because it matches my skin colour so well, there arent patches of skin that look like a different colour:).

The spf is an added plus though its a no no if you wish to take photos. I like the packaging too and how it came with a mirror plus the blue colour is a very nice blue. Oil control is not bad and I only had to blot maybe around 5 hours later (and this is in spite of the fact that I sweat so much).

Overall a pretty good foundation with a good range of colours but I think it might feel abit heavy for some.

Love love love this product! I am a MAC NC20, so I tested out shade #21 for this. I bought it, but in Asia, they sell the empty pallette and foundation seperatley (which is such a waste) Love the consistency of the foundation. I apply it with a brush, not the sponge and it goes on beautifully.

I used this product a lot in high school because it was relatively inexpensive & gave reasonably good coverage. It's a little too white making me appear lighter than I actually am & even when applied with a wet sponge it still looks powdery. Wear is less then ideal since it will start to come off after about 4 hours. Overall I think it's reasonable for the price & as a backup foundation.

I purchased this as an emergency product when I couldn't find my usual go-to foundation.

Pros: very mattifying, even with my super oily skin I didn't have to blot at all through 6 hours of wear. Has a nice glow to it. Cheap.

Cons: Magnifies lines and wrinkles that I never even knew I had (actually, Za's true white foundation pointed them out for me) to the point of looking ridiculously old for my age. Made my skin texture look rough and flaky. Broke me out. Too fiddly, as I had to apply it wet with a brush and it takes more time than convenient. I just wanted something I could pat on with a sponge and forget.

Overall opinion: My skin looks better naked than it does with this foundation, so if I ever get caught out again I'll just go natural and blot.

I normally use liquid foundation on a daily basis but got this to have a more portable foundation which is easy to touch up. I don't have good skin, a lot of redness and hyperpigmented scars and unevenness. The good thing about this foundation is that it's coverage is medium if you use the sponge. I could cover the redness and hyperpigmented areas easily (no concealer needed). The packaging is nice too, and the sponge is good quality. It lasted about 4-5 hours before needing a touch up. But the bad stuff: it really emphasised the unevenness of my skin, emphasised large pores, flakiness, minor lines especially in the area around the eyes and forehead and it caked over my chin and nose if I dusted these areas with a large powder brush more than once (it caked immediately with the sponge). All of these problems disappear instantly however when applying it wet especially with a stippling brush. I'm still not impressed, since my original intention was for a more easy application and having to wet a brush or sponge defeats the purpose.

I ran out of Bare Minerals, so I had no choice to use this. I bought it awhile back and forgot I had it. It's awesome! The coverage is great. I had no idea how good this stuff is. I use it as a powder. I just pat it on my "troubled" areas and it barely looks like I have makeup on. I chose #22 and I'm pretty fair skinned. No breakouts and it passed my "2 week test." I can tell if makeup is gonna give me zits by 1 week and nothing so far!

Allow me to state this now: This is my absolute favorite, near-HG powder foundation and so far, I have found no other brand that can remotely compare to it. I can wax lyrical about this for days--the shade (I have shade #21) matches my skin perfectly, the powder gives a silky, refined and even finish, whether you use the sponge dry or wet or even if you apply it with a brush, and for some inexplicable reason, my complexion is bathed in a 'glow' whenever I wear it! No matter what the lighting condition is, it will make your skin look practically flawless but sans the 'I'm-wearing-foundation' look. Also, even if you forget to blot during sunnier days, it won't make you look like an oilslick, the powder will simply increase your 'glow'. Love it!
I suppose my only gripe is that I have to travel to other Asian countries like Hong Kong, Malaysia or Singapore to purchase this, but hey, small price to pay for such a tremendously fab product, right? I'm definitely hoarding 3-4 pieces of this next time I travel!

This was the first foundation i ever owned many years ago. Tried it cuz of the rave from my frens. But the product is pretty dissappointing. This clogged my pores and cause breakouts. Also, the shade looks a little too white for me and caused me to look ghostly in photos. Although coverage is pretty good, it will make me look cakey if i over apply. Also, it accentuate the flakiness in my skin if i didnt mositurise before using it.

My HG powder foundation! I had been using diorsnow powder foundation and I was quite happy with it until I found this, which works better for me and is about a quarter of the price. I have slightly oily/combo skin and I am starting to get fine lines around my eyes. This foundation provides good coverage (medium to full - I can skip concealer unless I want my dark eye circles completely disguised), is mattifying, and feels soft and natural on the face. Even with a generous hand, this doesn't look powdery and fake. I am pretty fair and I use the lighest shade (20), and while it is a little more yellow-toned than my skin, it helps to counteract the pinkness in my cheeks and redness due to blemishes. I have already gone through one powder and I am on my second. I also have 3 backups (absolutely unheard of for me). If I use this with Shiseido spf 55 lotion, I don't have to blot or reapply, but if I use it with a different sunscreen underneath, I need to blot once or twice a day - we'll see how it holds up in the really hot summer weather (I'll update). I have absolutely no complaints about his product, except that it is hard for me to get (many thanks to a very sweet MUAer who helped me get this foundation).
Edit: I am still using it after going through 4 refills and I have *several* more refills on the way! It is still hg (even though I can't help but try new foundations every once in a while) and it beats all other foundations I have tried so far.

bought this 2-way powder foundation after all the raves from the local magazines. Thought of giving it a try as the descriptions of the product sounds so convincing...
Don't think it gives good coverage at all. Too powdery for my liking. I tried applying with wet sponge and it still looked very very powderish. I preferred dewy and glowing looking skin, which looks more natural.
My face also looked horribly white in photos and as if I wore a mask.
Found out that it clogged pores and my skin turned to be oilier and has more whiteheads popping out... :(

If you're looking for a two-way foundation that is value for money.... I would highly recommend u to go for this one !

I rarely continue using my foundations, but this is my 2nd one....and so far, I really liked the effect it gave on my skin. The shade is a lil fair for me, but it's acceptable.

The best aspect bout this foundation is that it doesn't give you that cakey-powdery look with i hate hate hate ! It gives me some sorta radiance on my look, making me look as if I have 10 hours of sleep, even on days that I don't. Only down-side to it is that it's lasting power is average.

Like all powder foundations, you should always apply them BEFORE makeup base. If your moisturizer is too matte/drying, applying powderwill only make it look cakey. You can also try to wet the sponge to achieve a more natural look.
