I have a love/hate relationship with this product. I HATE the price, I HATE the smell, BUT I LOVE the way it makes my skin look and feel. I have been using it for over a year and I get so many compliments on how perfect and flawless my complexion is. I've heard this from my Boyfriend which I appreiciated, but did not take with more than a grain of salt. But then I heard it from many of my patients, and Makeup Artists in the various stores I love to frequent, then my dermatologist had complimented my skin, which for my was the determining factor to keep this product in my skin care regimen for life. For years I have been plague with acne, oily skin, large pores, and a large scar from a dog bite when I was a child. Obviously the scar is still there but is so much less noticeable, it almost blends in with te rest of my skin tone and is much less raised than before.A little concealer and it is pracetically gone. As far as the acne scarring it is gone. Instead of the heavy Dermablend that I was using years ago or even the Cover Fx creame foundation, I now use a small amont of my Prescriptives Custom Blended Fondation mixed with a moisturizer to make a tinted moisturizer, put on a touch of concealer, dust/set with my Prescriptives Custom Blend Powder and go. No one ever believes me when I tell them I am 45 years old with a 24 year old Daughter. Everyone says I look like I am in my early 30's at most. I attribute all of this to SkinMedica and Genetics.
I would definitely recommend this product to everyone.

I am very sensitive to scents in any body product, especially for the face. I just don't put up with smells, good or bad. As for TNS, I can say that the smell reminds me of a musty towel, but not a sour one. I apply this, and layer with squalane to send the product deeper. For me, the smell dissipates within a few minutes of application (again, in combination with the squalane application which has a neutral scent). I am fairly sure I have the reformulated product, so complaints about scent may relate to the older product. If it works, the initial smell is no reason to avoid using. I believe that the research behind the formula, treatment of burns, crosses over into a plausible cosmetic skin care concept. This is why I first tried Epicuren, though their formulation was ultimately too sticky. I like the TNS packaging -- the size of the bottle sneakily disguises the small amount of product, but isn't too bogusly large. It stands about 3.5 inches tall and is about an inch in circumference. The pump works very well and dispenses varying amounts of product at your command. Like the reviewer below, I give this company HUGE props for resisting the urge to disguise the initially odd scent with an even more obnoxious fragrance. Simplicity is the key. UPDATE: I have stopped using just because it doesn't fit into my simplified routine. At present, there is just not enough science backing this up (just Derms selling it for a profit) and it pills when used with other products.

I wish this product didn't work so well due to the price but at least a little dab will do you. I know that many of you have complained about the smell but I've smelled worse and at least it doesn't have an irritating perfume smell. Honestly, you can't smell it once it is on your face, especially since so little is needed. I have to say that I do believe my eye area looks far better and refreshed when I use this product. I've been using it for several years now and every time I run out, I do notice a difference. Just in case there is something more advanced as time passes, I always ask if there is a better product or a new product when I'm at the dermatologist and the answer is always, "keep using your TNS". I buy two at a time in sealed packages from trusted sources on Ebay stores and save quite a bit of money.

This is Reddish color thick-gel serum.I used this serum for two weeks and I stopped due to unbearable scent. Since I also know that this serum is extract from babies skin, I feel myself as nasty thing putting on every time I use and I feel nauseous for a while . I didn't see any improvement for using in two weeks and I hope not to see since they don't promise any improvement in that short time. So this might be good products but if you are scent-sensitive, I'd say don't try it.

This works for me. Used it a few years ago and saw improvement in the tone and texture of my skin. Then I stopped (probably the price). I'm back using it again - aging skin and hormonal breakouts made me re-evaluate my skincare.
Most products just seem to irritate my skin - some alot, some just a bit. This product doesn't. It's not a miracle, but my skin does look better for using it. And it's the kind of improvement that comes "from the skin" as opposed to looking better because there is product "on the skin". So many treatments just make the skin look better thru silicones, etc. IMHO.
Not much product for the price (you do have to use twice daily to begin with) and you can't see when you're going to run out.
The scent used to be an issue for some people -- the product has been redone and the scent is negligible.

I have been sitting here and reading some of peoples reviews about this product and was surprised that everyone is so misinformed by this product. It is amazing if used right. I saw someone that said that she didn't see any results after 6 weeks. Well Skin Medica will tell you that
if used probably you wont see a differance for at least 90 days, and they will emphasize that fact you MUST use it probably and for that 90 days to see a difference. Also the reason for the strange sent is because it is almost 95% pure protine. If you had gone to a Skin Medica doctor or esthetician they would have told you that. The sent does goes away as soon as you put on your moisturizer, I really think it is the best skincare treatment I have ever used and I feel that I have tried everything.

I've tried this for six weeks so far and I honestly can't say I see any obvious results. (E.g., there is no lightening of age spots/freckles anywhere comparable to what I experienced with Obagi (which uses hydroquinone), nor do I see any lessening of wrinkles.) The flaws are the $$$ price, the horrible smell - really, really icky - and the fact, as another reviewer noted, that you can't open the packaging to get the last bit, which makes a difference for something this expensive. I've read that I ought to give it six months to a year and may continue, but so far, nada. . .

I've been using this for a couple of weeks and it is working!
My sensitive and reactive skin is smoother, firmer and calmer, redness and discoloration problems have improved. It appears to have great results. I would give it six lippies if it did not smell this bad. I've read about the smell but I was not prepared for this lingering stink. The first time I used it I felt I had to take it off right away. Something smelling like wet dirty socks-yes it is true- couldn't be good for my face. I used it anyhow to see if it lived up to it's good reviews and it does. But I can't get used to it. I will try isomers next just because of the smell but I might come back to it if I don't find anything as good. If you are not detterred by smell, try this out. IT IS good stuff!

TNS Recovery Complex is a product that I have been using for two years now. After spending a lot of money on everything from drugstore products to high-end 'designer' products from department stores, I found this product on a personal regimen published by a female dermatologist. I was skeptical at first, and a little put off by the cost. I have 'tested' it's efficacy a number of times by cycling on and off the product over a period of 2-3 three weeks with other products + conducting 1/2 face side-by-side comparisons. This product really works. It makes a difference in the tone, texture and clarity of my skin surface. I have a lot of freckles on my cheeks, and while they do not bother me, they fade considerably (30-40%) when I use TNS. Fine lines and pores are minimized. Tips: Apply quickly over damp skin, as the gel suspension evaporates quickly. Do not let the smell of the product deter you ( La Mer smells great, but no lasting results for me, at least)!

I read the reviews about the terrible smell and I thought I was prepared. Turns out I was wrong. This smells so awful, I can't bear to use it. And the stench lingers for hours after you apply the product. It is also sticky which makes it difficult to apply. I couldn't bring myself to use it more than a couple times.
EDIT: I felt guilty about letting this go to waste so I decided to try it just under my eyes. I've been using it this way for about 3 months, applying a tiny amount at night, followed by a basic moisturizer. So far, it has not had any effect on the fine lines below my eyes.
EDIT 2: eventually, this product caused me to develop a really bad sensitivity on my skin. It became red and swollen and burned terribly. I could not apply any of my regular products, for over a week after stopping this because everything burned. These are products I have used for months or years without problems. I had to use absolutely nothing for over a week and then I could slowly resume my regular products. If I could give it 0 lippies, I would.

I bought this from an esthetician for $200. She said it would clear up the fine lines around my eyes. It did nothing. it wasn't a bad eye gel, but it's worth about $20, not $200. The smell is god-awful as well. Won't be buying again.

On my skin, the effects are more evident than the results of regular use of a potent, stable Vitamin C product and a nightly tretinoin or retinaldehyde product...combined! My skin is more luminous, clear, smooth, and soft. It can tend to dry/irritate my skin if I'm also being aggressive with Vitamin A products, but I just remedy that with a layer of a soothing emollient moisturizer on top and it's perfect. It's given me the glow I had as a kid.
EDIT - March 2010: The expense of regular use became prohibitive ($130 per month) so after about 6 months, I stopped buying this. But it's effects are so remarkable (on par with Renova but without the irritation and photo-sensitivity) I recently started using this again and I couldn't be happier. Nothing does a better job of evening out my tone and giving my skin a taut, glowy look. Highly recommend. Worth the expense.

For the first time in years I looked at myself in the mirror this morning after applying my moisturizer and thought "I don't need any makeup." I have only been using this product at night (in cominbation with Skin Ceutical C&E Ferulic serum in the morning) for 2-3 weeks and I am amazed at the difference in my skin. My pores are dramatically reduced and my skin tone is more even than it has been in many, many years.
It is expensive, but so are lots of products out there that haven't delivered near the results, at least for me.
If you are trying to correct aging, sun-damaged, thinning skin I think this product is worth trying. I am loving it.

Ok, I am a HUGE fanatic obsessive when it comes my skin and the fight against wrinkles. So much so that since I’m 16, I’ve been using prescription RetinA (highest strength) around my eyes (a big no-no, I know!), and on my hands, arms. I am quite skeptical of dep’t store “hope in a jar” because I always feel like the high price is really going towards paying rent space and marketing costs. (Let’s not forget that “lesser” brands like Oil of Olay &Neutrogena have MASSIVE war chests for R&d, and some of their products are actually better than the fancier ones.)
Anyway, now that you know where I’m coming from, I am happy to report that I am adding TNS to my HG list for skincare. I never thought I would find a product that ranks up there with the RetinA, but it does. TNS makes your skin feel indescribably SOFT and SMOOTHER THAN A BABY'S CHEEK. And don’t get me started on how it tightens! I use TNS around my eyes, on my neck, chest, hands and arms, as well. I can actually SEE the tightening around my eyes.
Superficial results aside, TNS works beneath the skin, as well, and I have been told (can’t verify, though), that it enhances RetinA’s function
.
The cons of TNS are the smell, which, supposedly has been improved. Well, if they say so…Seriously, this stuff stinks like dirty socks that were left in a wet bag for a week, but it is bearable and definitely worth it for the results. Also, the cost is high-I think $125-$145-but that’s what dept store brands costs, and with TNS, you know you’re getting a product that works. Another con is realizing that you are putting the “extracts” from donated hospital baby foreskins on your face-not a pleasant thought, but in the interest of full disclosure, if someone told me that horsepoo would get eradicate wrinkles, I’d be running down to my stables to smear it on my face!
So yes, I highly recommend TNS.

I have been using for 3 1/2 years...yes, YEARS! I started using it on the advice of my plastic surgeon and am a believer. I always get comments on my skin...I am turning 56 yrs old next month and the discoloration and uneveness is gone. I but it on e-bay...best deal. Just be sure you're buying it from a long time ebayer. You also don't need it every day after you have used it a few months so it lasts alot longer. I use this at night on DAMP skin only...it is the prescribed way to apply this product. In the morning I use Skinceuticals Vit. C and Ferulic under my moisturizer. I am a grandmother and nobody ever believes me when I tell them my age...and no, I do not use botox...don't need it.
August 2008: Have read a few newer reviews and to those of you who have seen NO difference: I cannot stress enough how important it is to have very clean and sloughed skin. Use either good cleanser with beads or a Clarisonic which is what I use. None of these expensive products are going to be worth the money if you don't have either peels or something similar in your skin care regimen.

This is my second bottle of this product, and I decided to write a review after seeing the difference it made in my skin. The only reason why I can't give it the best rating is because of the price and the packaging. If Iam going to pay this much for something, I want to be able to open it up when I get to the end of it, and be able to get the rest of the product out with my fingers! I know there is more in there, but haven't figured out how to get it open. When I started using this the first bottle, I could not believe the change in the softness of my skin, I thought it was soft before, the firmness and thickness and I didn't feel so dry. My pores, which are not big to begin with, got even smaller. My husband kept commenting on it, he said my skin looked so smooth. I ran out of it and didn't repurchase because I was trying to find the cheapest place and found skincarerx, thank goodness! I'll never be without this again. People comment on the smell, I say it's worth it to have skin like this. The smell goes away, and they did improve on it anyway since then. Be patient, this stuff takes a little while to see a difference in a lot of people, but I know I saw a change in a few days. When I was out of it, I noticed a change so I couldn't wait to get back on it. I love it!

I'm lucky that I work at a place where I can get this for half the price, because I'm not sure if I would buy it any other way because it's so expensive. I like the texture and I tend to use it after giving myself a glycolic peel because my skin isn't as sensitive after i use it, but I don't use it every day.
The smell like others have mentioned doesn't seem to bother me.

This was an ok product. It's about $140 just for 0.6 oz. or something like that. I bought it because my dermatologist suggested it for minor fine lines around the lips, and eyes. I am only 20 and like to take care of my skin. For this product you only have to use it on certain areas than opposed to the entire face. i noticed small improvements around the eyes but nothing dramatic. One thing that this product did that surprised me was that it actually got rid of a few keiloids from acne scars from my teenage years. The smell is dead awful as well. i would only recemend this product for the eye area and frown lines. Might buy again depending on how i feel. I'd recemend their Vitalize Peels than this.

I bought this and used it for about 4 mos after hearing about how Dr. Wexler thought it was so fantastic. It was very expensive (about $120.) I noticed absolutely no improvement in my skin. I don't know what all the hype is about. It is not even pleasant to use secondary to the foul smell.

I think this is an incredible product. I have thin skin, recently starting to notice signs of aging, sun damage, etc. This stuff has firmed up my skin considerably. I use it on slightly damp skin and follow with their vitamin C cream in day, Image Vital C hydrating repair creme at night (one of the best night creams I've ever used!). My skin looks fantastic. People have noticed. It smells horrible but you get used to it. You have to use it for a while before you notice a difference. I always buy on ebay and have never paid more than $100 a bottle. It's one of the few products that's actually worth the exorbitant price tag!
