I definitely don't like the formula. It's hard to apply evenly over your face. After you applied it, it feels like gunk. I got it as a gift though so I will use all of it but I definitely wouldn't re-purchase.

the packaging is pretty nice but sometimes i have trouble getting product out of the can... for some reason, this base makes my face more pinkish and does not look good in flash photography.. will not repurchase

i didn't purchase this. the MA tried it on me and i felt a burning sensation so my sensitive skin didn't like something in it. she immediately put cleansing oil on my face to remove it and the burning went away instantly.

I have mixed feelings about this product.
Unlike most primers, this one doesn't have silicone. On the up side, this won't clog pores; but on the down side, it doesn't give you that velvet-smooth skin and does a mediocre job at reducing pore sizes. But you know that already, right?
As of now, I can't understand why sometimes it gives me little stringys of product upon application. Kind of like the stuff that comes off when using an eraser (yes, eraser as in stationary). So when this happens, I dust it off with a brush and proceed.
I do love the SPF, and I especially love how despite containing suncreen, it doesn't make your face oily. In fact, it has a mattifying effect to some degree.
When used alone, it evens out my skin tone a little bit. So on a casual day I can just dust loose powder over this and head out the door.
The mousse consistency is very interesting. I like how it dries so quickly but you have to work fast - it dries very very quickly. It also goes on so invisible that sometimes I forget which area of my face has primer and which doesn't. Luckily, 2 layers of this primer won't look heavy.
Like hair mousse, it's easy to pump out too much product.
I won't be repurchasing this because I have other primers in mind that I would like to try out. But I wouldn't mind going back to this primer if my other choices are bad.

I just got this and have been playing around with it. I must say this mousse like product is not like other face primers. I've tried Smashbox, Cinema Secrets, MUFE HD, etc. and I definitely prefer this. I have been using the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics primer and really liking that stuff but this mousse gives it a run for the money.
Light and airy, it goes on like a dream, feels like nothing on and smooths out my skin. Even wearing it by itself evens out my complexion! It has some spf in it which is better than nothing and it smells nice.
I have dry skin and since this primer seems to be mattifying, I have to be careful to moisturize really well before applying.
The one thing I don't like is the price, but since it works so well for me, I just have to suck it up I guess lol.

This product is an under base before foundation. I feel that it helps to control the oil on my face, which to some extent helps to hold the foundation and prevent it from fading. So I would say it is a great product for those who have oily skin. But for me it is too dry as I have dry skin. Overall, I don't think the product works on me. It does not provide any coverage, literally, no coverage at all because it is too watery. Though it has SPF 17 PA++, it is still not enough for a daily sunscreen, and it dries my skin as well. So I could have lived without it. I probably will never purchase it again.

I have fixed feelings about this product. Not sure if it does anything for me. I prefer other primers over this one, like the Makeup Forever HD Primer. The mouse primer thing does not impressed me as much. I am still using it, as it has no caused me any breakouts or anything. But i will not be re-purchasing.

This might work if you're having a day out in the sun / running about in the city / simply have oily skin. My skin is pretty dehydrated and this product is too drying. It made my skin taut and tight by the end of the day.

This makeup base has a SPF 10 and a matte finished. Its supposed to absorb all the grease from your face and your makeup will stay through all day long. My face has been flaky when I have it on. Maybe its due to my dry skin. If you have dry skin, this primer is not for you. I would rather spend on a tinted moisturizer that has a higher SPF.

It was intresting that it was like foam, however I have combo skin and I expect a primer to fill in lines and pores and cause the foundation to mattify. The primer did conceal my pores but it didn't mattify my skin. After 3 hrs of using this product with the SU liquid foundation my nose is shiny. My smashbox doesn't make my nose shiny that fast. Still looking for my HG primer. Maybe it works better on people with dry skin?

I am surprised that this wonderful product doesn't get good reviews. This is 1 of my face mu base because it is light and easy to use.
also, the base is able to correct my skintone and lighten the blemishes. I can see the effect upon using it. I find my blemishes lighten. it create a more nicer skin and aid the application of foundation.
it also does a good job in oil control for my t-zone. the only downside is, it's quite expensive!!!

I've been very curious about this product since it's a foam type primer, and i just thought that it would great for oily skin. (foamy cleansers work well for me). Well, it doesn't control oil, that's for sure. And, it stings on me after putting it after applying sunblock. (My sunblock is Shu Uemura SPF 50). The SA couldn't tell me what SPF their primer had, so i had to be extra safe.
I've tried it without applying my sunblock at all, and it works better, no stinging feeling.
It was tricky to apply.. well, weird to put foam on your face. But it absorbed quickly. However, i agree with the previous reviewer that it works better on powder foundation rather than liquid. I've tried it with my RMK liquid foundation and by noon i was super oily. But with my MAC Stucio Fix powder, it was flawless. I got slight oil in certain areas of my face though.. but still okay looking.
i wouldn't buy this again because of the price and the "unknown" SPF. I'd rather be safe under the sun...
I passed by Shu recently and one friendly SA led me on a secret that all i needed was their SHU sunblock as my base, which was great for oily skins. She didn't really believe in the UV Primer too. Now, that's honesty!!!

The only good thing about it is that it's so light. Maybe that's why it doesn't do anything a base should do. It feels a little sticky at first but once it's dry, it's too dry. My usual oil-free liquid foundation will not glide on this base and turns blotchy. So I use it as a sun screen under my other makeup base so that it won't be a waste.

best primer i've used. doesn't irritate my acne-prone skin and more importantly doesn't make me break out. it absorbs nicely and really makes a difference when applying foundation.

This was the worst thing I've ever put on my face. It was oily and I broke out horribly after a couple applications.$36 to boot! I actually own a Shu blush that I love, but I would never purchase this particular product from them again.

On the contrary to the previous reviews, I do think this product is a HG. I was introduced to this by a friend and later at the japan airport, bought 4 more since it's so much cheaper. But what I find makes the difference is to use only powder foundations - be in two cake, sheer, loose powder... It does give a slightly sticky feel upon application, but it helps with increasing the coverage with a powder foundation. I have never tried this with liquid foundation. I'm not entirely sure if this really helps with long-lasting results, but it definately helps to smoothen out the complexion and minimise pores for better application. So far so good for me.

Dont waste your money pleaseee, and i know this is hard to find and alot of people assume just because shu uemuras brushes and eye lash curler is great that everything else is great. truth is its not. this did absolutely nothing for me. i was looking for a base or primer for my oily skin i went to the store at south coast plaza and the worker there told me this helps for oil control, i said but its not specifically made for that right? she said no its not but it will help, i asked her if she is sure she said yes so i bought it. im returning this very soon, its a worthless product, my makeup actually managed to look worse after only a couple of hours wearing it the other nite. when i got home and looked at my face i was a little mad that a product that is supposed to help your makeup go on easier and look better did the complete opposite. why would i pay money for that? i was doing just fine with my chanel mat lumiere foundation on its own with some loose powder. oh and dont waste your money on their foundations either, liquid or the velvet adjusting powder one either. id rather use mac....
