Others below have described the color very well. I do see the golden shimmer which makes the pink a little warmer and I think more versatile. There is also an orange blossom fragrance to the lippie which I really like. Others could find it offensive if they are not fond of the fragrance. I really do hate NARS' packaging, just because in Hawaii, the salt air really melts the rubbery packaging after awhile and makes it so sticky you don't want to touch it! The color payoff is really good and because it's a semi-matte the wear is really long. Overall, I'm very happy with this one.

I think I got some type of fluke tube on this, because it was AWFUL! I don't like to try on lipsticks at the store, so I just rub a little on my index finger and hold it up. It felt smooth & creamy, and I loved the color. However, when I got it home, it went on like CHALK. My lips are a little on the dry side, but this showed every single line and crease. From other reviews, I honestly question if I got a faulty tube, but i'm going to be returning this and certainly won't purchase again.

This is my new everyday lippie andit was totally worth the money. It's pretty pricey about $30. It's a lovely matte finish and I usually top it off with MAC Nymphette, makes the peachy coral totally pop. I now have a thing for NARS lipstick and I will be buying one NARS lippie a month. The staying power is amazing and I use IMAN's lip pencil in expresso. I have used it in my FOTN in my profile pic. It's gorgeous and ladies of color NARS is definetly WOC friendly check them out and get at least onbe NARS color you should start with thsi one..my next one will be Funny Face! Love it, my HG everyday nuetral lippie! I would buy this again!

Catfight was a pleasant surprise. I had swatched it once before in Sephora and automatically dismissed it. After reading more reviews I decided to give it another go. If you are warmer toned and swatch this, this is one of those lipsticks, that like me, you may dismiss right off the bat, fearing it's all wrong for your skintone. If you can get past that initial instinct, sanitize, and apply on your lips, this is one that will definitely make it to the checkout line at Sephora. :)

It's described as a semi matte nude mauve which is a pretty accurate description. It's absolutely beautiful on. I'm neutral-warm toned w/ strong yellow undertones, NC30-35ish, Shell in Chanel, #3 in GA face fabric, 127 in MUFE HD, 32 in MUFE f & b. It's a little different from my typical day to day lipstick but by no means is it unnatural or OTT on the lips! :)

A sexy opaque pink with a golden shimmer. I was looking for a lighter opaque mauvey pink. The only reason I took off 1 lippy is because I find this formula to be dry straight out of the tube. It was much drier than the tester I used at Sephora, and the color seems lighter too. So this means that I really have to press hard to get the color to transfer to my lips, because it is so dry it passes right over my lips without depositing color. It does go on smoother if I apply lip balm first, and this also seems to make the shimmer more noticeable. I like wearing this lipstick with a clear gloss with golden shimmer on top of it or a milky pink gloss. The result is very pretty and soft. Even though I have a warmer skin tone, this color looks really flattering. It gives a very "Barbie" look. Pretty with a smokey eye for evening.

Just got this and I am head over heels. It's a subdued but somehow very complex color--it swings both cool and warm on me, I would definitely describe it as a pinky mauve but it has a goldenness to it that warms it up. The texture is thickish like the NARS semi-mattes tend to be, but it wears very comfortably and is non-drying (and I am writing this in a very dry, cold February in New York). I can't say enough great things about it, and I am sure I'll be buying it again and again.

CATFIGHT is a MLBB mauve, on me it has a slightly bronze look to it (I’m n15). It’s very wearable & goes with most mu combos. I also love the square tube – it won’t roll of my dresser when I’m getting ready.

I have dry lips, but have not yet experienced any flaking or chafing after I’ve been wearing this. This is my first NARS lipstick, but it won’t be my last, despite the price. God help my wallet – I have a crush on NARS; every single product I’ve tried I love…

Catfight is a great color. It's pretty much a slightly cooler, more amped-up version of MAC Dervish lip pencil (pink-mauve, being more on the pink side, with the slightest amount of gold frost). It's a Nars semi-matte formula and my very first one at that. The texture is quite thick but not at all heavy, it's richly pigmented and very long-lasting. Would repurchase. I'm a NC 35-40, btw.

i decided to stop at the nars display at sephora and look at the lipsticks. i picked up dolce vita, since i've heard it's very popular....but i felt as if it may go orange on me, for some reason my lips make some colors appear orange. weird. and then i saw catfight. it looked very pretty, but when i saw it was a semi matte i wasn't sure. i def have *never* been a gloss only girl and a little weight in a lippie does not scare me....but i can't wear colors taht are too opaque or dark. i swipped this on my hand and, oh wow, it was great! so i took it. well it has a great texture....heavy enough, but not too much, and feels moist, but not glossy, and is NOT drying! my lips are dry too. u know what? clinique buttershines are MORE drying than this semi-matte l/s....and the BS did not even give much color payoff. nars is much better in quality. i'm very happy and would be willing to try another nars l/s in another color/formula. i remember in the early-mid 90's, when i was in high school, the matte look was very in. i loved the matte look, though the colors i wore were too dark! oh and catfight has a super tiny bit of shimmer....but it is very sublte and is very hard to tell it is there. but it gives the color a tad more depth and is less flat than a true matte. i'm fair, brwn hair/eyes and have slight yellow undertones....but for some reason i look really good in cool toned pink/mauve l/s. which this is. love it and have been wearing it non stop for weeks. very long lasting also. =]

I've been looking for a dupe of Chanel Mischief for years and this is close. I saw it in Sephora the other day, it caught my eye and I was thrilled. This is my first Nars lipstick and I"m hooked.

I had been lemming this for such a long time and really wanted to love it. Unfortunately, I find it to be quite average when worn alone. It's a rich mauve nude, not overtly pink or cool. No shimmer. It's a bit drying, slightly unflattering when worn by itself. It does get much better with a balm or gloss, but not worth the price tag in my opinion.

I really like this colour. I usually go for nudes or soft pinks, so this is my first "dramatic" lipstick lol. Obviously I'm kinda scared of doing deep reds and other bold lip colours, so this is also what I like about Catfight cuz it's very much wearable. It's not high maintainance at all (so I don't wear a lipliner, actually I've never worn one lol)! In fact, I originally got it for my mom but I liked it so much that I went back two hours later and got another one! lol
Only downsides: no SPF and the packaging is kinda cheap looking imo (as with all NARS' products...)

Me: C2/NC15, wear glasses, 41. Pros: Long lasting unique pink color-- something just shy of a very cool toned pink (like MAC's Syrup). Matte without being horribly drying, although I agree with posters who suggest using balm or gloss with this long-term. Many ds shades like this have a LOT of frost, and this shade has only a very tiny amount. Staying power: very good. Packaging: Typical black semi-matte rubber. For the price, I'd like these lipsticks to swivel/close more securely. Cons: Too unique for my yellow-olive skin. (other Cs/NCs may find this to be similar.) Can look almost lavender grey on my complexion-- not a great quality in a lipstick! Also needs to be applied very carefully, as it is matte-- pale semi-glossy shades are more forgiving. Buy again? No, although I do favor many NARS lipsticks in general. This one just isn't for me.

longest lasting lipstick i've ever worn. slightly drying so use a balm. unusual pretty color looks good on me but i think i want to try the other semi-matte l/s colors. nice change from the sticky shiny looking lips. definitely looks pink if that's what you're going for.

I absolutely love this color, however it is pretty drying on my lips. I would have never picked out the color for myself, but with my fair complexion, it looks great.

This is my first Nars lipstick, but I doubt it'll be my last- the colors of this line seem very flattering. This is not matte, since it has shimmer, but it's not shiny either, which for me is a good thing. I've only had it for a few months, and I'm presently going through a nude lips faze (rosebud lip salve and that's about it), but when I do want to wear makeup this is my favorite lipstick. It just looks polished. I can see how it would be too purple on some people, but my skin is very cool with pink undertones so it isn't too much on me. It's kind of drying, so when my lips are getting dry I use my MAC lipstick instead, but Catfight lasts longer and I feel more chic with the little rubbery tube.

I've always been a sucker for matte mauve l/s and this is why i tried to get Catfight; unfortunately it lacks something which i can't exactly name but for sure a hint of color that prevents this from making me look sick like it did; more beige maybe??! Anyway it gave me purple-ish lips.
The texture again is awesome, matte no shimer.
NC30, with pigmented lips.

Perfect MLLB pink rose color. Not too dark or light. I don't care for the slight shimmer in this lipstick. According to the official website this is described as a "nude mauve". There is no shimmer in the description like there are with some of the other Semi-matte lipsticks. I prefer matte lipstics that are creamy but long lasting. It would be nice if this lasted longer. I will probably repurchase unless I can find a clone without shimmer that lasts longer. It really is quite a lovely color. I tried Prestige Raven but that is too dark and does not last very long. I am a Mac NW20/NW15.
**ETA I removed two lippies after wearing this for awhile I decided it has shimmer, I prefer matte lipsticks, and I also really like Revlon lipsticks much better for the price, they have lots of gorgeous shades, I really love Mauve so Moist, Rose Velvet, and Naked Splash.

Very pretty, semi-matte, cool toned, medium pink. When I was living abroad, looked great when I was fairer, here in Malaysia, I'm much more tanned and the color looks a little garish. I found the formula a tad drying (and I tend to have dry lips), but easily fixed with a slick of lip balm. Looks gorgeous topped with gloss (I used to pair it with NARS Lip Lacquer in Sweet Charity).

Very pretty lipcolor. A medium, natural pink that's flattering for every complexion. This is a sexy but extremely sophisticated pink.. I've never seen anything like it but it is just so beautiful... will definately repurchase forever. My everyday, HG lipcolor. I never leave home without it! =)
