The product that I am referring to looks different than the picture displayed in above. The one that I purchased said Smoothing and Mattifying on it. The product comes in a small little clear glass and the top is black and the cap is clear as well. In any event, I was pleasantly surprised and very grateful that the Sephora rep recommended this to me. I am very oily and makeup usually melts on me. This keeps even my mineral foundation intact. It keeps my oilies at bay and my skin is dry until I wash it off (which is a miracle). I would not recommend this to people with dry skin but if you are oily, this could be your savor-

i like the uva primer, very compact and inexpensive primer that lasts a long time. a small one costs $18 and lasts about 2.5months. i like the small version over the full sized b/c i travel freqently and so that i can get a fresh bottle more often decreasing the risk of the primer separating or contamination on the cap. It glides on easily, provides a smooth base for my foundation, and takes out some of the redness on my face. i've also noticed my face does not get as oily as it does when i don't use this. i am acne prone and have not had any problems with new breakouts with this primer. i've used the other sephora primers too, the plain clear one is ok, but doesn't seem to do anything for me. the orangy corrector one is too oily

I didn't like this primer at all. I need a primer that will keep my face from getting too oily and will camoflague my large pores. I have a problem with a lot of shine breaking through my makeup after only an hour, and when my face is overly shiny my large pores just look awful. a few months ago I tested about 10 different primers to see what would give me the best result for what I was looking for (some borrowed, some samples). I eventually ended up liking Tarte smooth operator and Pure Luxe's eraser product and Dr Brandt's Poreless products. those seemed to be the best for camoflaguing and for oil control (at least for me). Anyway, if you're on the search for a cheap primer that will help you out with oily skin and large pores, this one probably won't help you.

I really wanted this to work for me. After all, how could I resist the allure of smooth, poreless skin that lasts for hours? Unfortunately, the Skin Smoothing primer did not deliver the promise of longer-lasting makeup. It comes in a small pump dispenser, with a clear cap. The pump can be a little erratic; at times when I just wanted a little more, a large glob came shooting out. You smooth it over your skin and apply your regular foundation over it, and your makeup will just glide on and last and last. Sounds good, right? My foundation looked really nice when I was done. My pores looked less noticeable, my skin did look smoother... But two hours afterward, I couldn't believe how shiny and greasy-looking my face had become. This stuff makes my combo-oily prone skin look like I just deep-fried my face! Love the initial finish, but the end result is less than perfect. I can imagine this faring a lot better on drier skin types. Gave this one to my mother.

I used this for two days, and broke out in major cystic acne, which I never get! In fact, prior to this, my skin was the clearest it's been in a year. The worst part is, it didn't even seem to really help my makeup last longer than usual! It's going up on swap, for someone with more tolerant skin to enjoy.

This is the first time I've used a primer, other than my wedding day (it was MAC and I didn't care for it). I really like this one. My foundation stayed on ALL day, which never happens for me. And my face didn't get oily like it usually does by midday. It is a small bottle so I'm not sure if the quantity will justify the price (I paid $22). I've also switched my foundation from lancome to prescriptives so this change may have some play in my overall experience.

A great primer for the money. it's also silicon free so if you are allergic or can't wear it because you use products with alpha hydroxy acid, this is your match. Leaves skin feeling silky smooth, NOT oily.

This product works well on my skin for both prep and wear of my daily makeup. I have included it into my morning regimen immediately after moisturizing. I use a pea size drop all over my face and allow it to sit for a minute or two before proceeding with the rest of my make-up. I have found that it helps to maintain a matte (but not flat) appearance throughtthe day and I typically do not have to touch up my makeup- only use blot papers on my nose and forehead to keep the shine away- this is down from several times a day to once in the afternoon. One problem, since I use the product daily, I am running through that little bottle and will have to purchase more ina few weeks...oh well!

I am really loving this product. I'm not a huge fan of using primers but for some reason I had to buy this one. Anyway, this controls my oilies soo well. Plus it really smooths out my skin for makeup application. I went out to see a movie last night and usually when I look in a mirror afterwards, my face is like an oil monster. But not with this stuff! I did get oily after awhile but it seemed more like dewey than actually shiny. I've only been using it a couple of days, crossing my fingers that I don't break out. EDIT: Uh oh, this stuff is making me dry and flakey. Naughty primer! I still like it but maybe I should only use it for special occasions now..

one day i decided to finally buy some primers... so i bought Sephora, Tarte, and Smashbox. and i kept using the other two, but my sister advised me to try the Sephora brand b/c she had so much luck with that.. well i didnt believe her, so i kept using Smashbox and Tarte and was getting horribly frustrated b/c those two brands SUCK so bad... so finally i said "f*ck it" and i tried Sephora and OH MY GOD, its so much better than Smashbox AND Tarte!
it's got that thick, matte gel consistency, and feels really horribly going on my face.. it kinda feels like you're rubbing oil into your skin but this kept me shine free for at least 2 1/2 hours. even tho my face still FELT shiney, this was the best product i've tried so far that's kept it from LOOKING shiney.
i'd repurchase it until i find something better..

Mmmm, first of all I don't wear primer, just moisturizer and foundation and on the go. I bought this cos of the review here, so my friend bought me one from France since it's cheaper there. For me, this primer makes my skin oilier and I do have oily acne prone skin already. Even when I only use oil free sun screen w foundation, this primer still makes me oilier. I don't like it. My make up looks the same with or without primer. I don't really like the silicony texture from all primer to begin with. Maybe it's great for dry skin. My skin texture is smooth, only breakouts during PMS and sometimes lack of sleeping. I don't think it's worth it to buy this primer.

I've never tried a primer before this (well, except Aromaleigh's, but that was a joke), and I was a little hesitant simply because I have INSANELY sensitive skin (even looking at it wrong makes me break out). But since I have been using this, the breakouts have been even LESS than usual! Now I only break out when I'm super-stressed. It makes my crappy Max Factor foundation (seriously, I am on the lookout for a new one) go on MUCH smoother, and stay almost the whole day. I say almost because I have the bad habit of touching my face, which wipes some of it off :( And I must say this- I'm pretty sure this stuff is "protecting" my face from my MF foundation, because MF used to give me a few cyctic pimples, and I haven't gotten any! But anyway, this stuff is GREAT. It's one of those products that's like "How did I ever live WITHOUT this?!" Same with the MAC microfine stuff. My gawd, I was a barbarian.
I'm just about out of this stuff, but I'm going to Sephora tonight, and I'm going to *try* the Smashbox primer. I'm hoping it won't break me out, but if it does I will buy the Sephora primer until I die, it is that awesome!
**EDIT** Awwww, poop. I recently realized this was giving me weird rash-like bumpy skin :( I looove Smashbox for the SUMMER ONLY, and have switched to Larua Mercier moisturizing primer for the winter.

I changed my review for this since I started having some skin issues. My face started getting very dry and irritated, so I stopped using this and it eventually went back to normal. I think if you overdo it it can be drying, so I think I will use it sparingly from now on. My second gripe is the packaging. The pump dispenses too much product for me to use at once, and the bottle isn't very secure (or very big for the price). This is ok but I will keep looking I think.

Love this! i have only used this once so ill try to update in a week, but this stuff is remarkable, it really makes your foundation go on a lot smoother, and make your face feel soft after appling makeup, as far as the oilies, im not that sure because i was running amok the first day i wore this and was to busy to look in the mirror. This comes in a gel form and i beleive is really high quality for a sephora product. Yes its true the bottle is quite small and significantly less the smashbox, but i beleive that this will last you around the same time that the smashbox will last you since you only need a tiny bit, and believe me this goes a long way. According to the previous reviewers you find this alot cheaper in france, which is a bummer, but 22$ isnt so bad, it is a lot less than smashbox. Way to go Sephora. UPDATE: I saw how this looked in my rear view mirror, i saw no difference whatsoever, the shine was still the same, i would give it 3 lippied but i think its because of the foundation i put over this (Visibly Even by Neutrogena) the worst foundation ever, i think the two products do not mix well. I will update when i buy my Bobbi Brown TM.

After reading the reviews I decided to try this. I have large pores and find by mid-morning that my face is shiny and by 5pm my makeup is almost all off. Today is my first time using this and I have to say from the moment I put it on I noticed a difference. My skin can be reddish in some areas and once I applied this primer my skin tone evened out. My foundation went on smoothly as did blush. I just checked my face and my pores looks smaller and tighter. My forehead still has a little shine but it is 95% better than what it usually is at this time.
I gave it a 2 for price because at $23 it is a bit expensive but you only need a pump's worth of product.
*Update* - Two weeks later and I still love it. My original intention was to use this for special occasions but I love how it looks I wear it every day. My skin has not broken out at all which is a definite plus.

I received this in a swap and I think it's just great. First, a little goes a long way, it makes my face feel amazing. The best part, however, is that it really helps control shine. Since I've started using it I really have had to blot less - I'm surprised. I'm not sure what it does to keep my foundation in place, but I swapped for it b/c of my very oily face. I will definately be buying this once I run out.

Well, unlike a majority of you gals, I did NOT LIKE this. I have used many other primers, and this didn't compete for me. First off, a glass bottle. Sucks for travel. Second, the pump doesn't work right, kind of spits/shoots it out, messy and wastful. Third, it's runny. Lastly, and most importantly, it didn't keep my shinies away all day, nor did it preserve my foundation all day. I would look in the mirror at the end of the day, and look like I'd never applied a primer to begin with, so why waste my $22(!) and make an extra step for myself. The Smashbox Photo Finish is a way better buy, and product. So I'll continue to use my other primers instead. Obviously.

This is a Remarkable product! I have pretty oily skin & normally I need to start touching up my powder about an hour or two after make-up application. Not with this on! My make-up doesn't budge & looks fresh & clean hours after I put it on. I have tried similar products from both Chanel & Clarins & neither come anywhere near this one. It is pretty pricy but well worth it as in it delivers what it promises. I hope Sephora never discontinue this.

I really like this primer. It glides on very nicely on the face. Afterwards I put on my foundation as usual. The primer makes my face matte and the foundation looks nicer and stayes on longer. It makes the skin look smoothe. Here in France where I live it is also guite cheap, so I will repurchase.
