I really like using this to add volume. I've got straight, thick Caucasian hair, and I use this before blow-drying, sometimes even before air-drying. It adds texture to your hair, so it does feel a little more dry, but it also holds it up pretty well. I'm not crazy about the scent (there's a little perfume that doesn't cover the alcohol/chemical scent) but it doesn't make your hair smell, so that's not really important. I also use this as a mousse when I'm just blow-drying my bangs to help them stay in place - it's the only alcohol-based styling product I own, and I'm hoping it will help keep my bangs from getting sweaty or oily while I'm out.

This will get the job done. Hair becomes full and very poofy and will not relax until washed out.

I have fine, thin shoulder-length hair. It gave me bouncy, soft but long-lasting hold in a climate that gets realllly humid. I always preferred Aveda (volumizing tonic or phomolliant[spelling?]) & Bumble & Bumble (styling lotion or spray & thickening spray), but am quite happily surprised by this Sally Beauty biz. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PRODUCT LINE! It's so silly {or stupid?!] to be a Snob or Slave to Labels. Don't be duped, unless your main motive is the environment~*

I was so excited for the product, but I really didn't notice a difference, except that my roots got greasy faster.

This stuff is great! It does what it says it does and doesn't leave your hair feeling gross as a result. I apply it on my roots while my hair is damp and blow dry. I have tried letting it natural dry and it doesn't give as much lift as with a blow dryer but it still gives lift. It makes a huge difference if I'm going to flat iron my hair. I have semi-fine average fullness hair but this makes my hair look very full. Also, a great thing about it is if you apply too much it doesn't get gunky. I can't even tell I have product in my hair. My only complaint is the bottle. It is a nice looking bottle and I like the application method but the bottle is too damn tall to fit on any of my bathroom shelves. Also I have to lay it on its side in my tolietry travel bag because when it is upright it is 2 inches too tall. But that is a minor problem and I would definitely buy this product again.

I purchased this last week based on the reviews I read here, and I am so happy that I did. I will probably be just repeating other reviews for the most part, but anyway, I have tried many other brands that cost so much more, and this gave me WAY better results than the expensive brands. I got a couple other Beyond the Zone products when I purchased this one at Sally Beauty, and I can honestly say that my hair looked better this week than it ever has - I sprayed some of this in the roots while my hair was damp, and then after blowdrying my hair had tons of body and some texture (my long hair is thick but really fine and basically lays there and does absolutely nothing if I don't use any products). I usually spend so much money on hair products that hardly work for me, so getting the Beyond the Zone products for so cheap and having them work better than anything else is amazing! Thanks to all the other reviewers - I never would have tried this stuff if I had not read the reviews here.

This is Big Sexy Hair knockoff I believe...whatever it is, it's the perfect root lifter. Spray it at the roots and blow dry. Just like the BSH Root Pump it gives perfect weightless volume. And it's so inexpensive. I love this!

oh wow, I like this a lot! I never knew I had a problem with volume, my hair never looked THAT flat. However, I went to 2 different hairdressers, who told me the same thing--you hair is fine but you have so much of it! I started wondering--if I have so much hair, why does it just look average? so I tried this stuff--wow, this is great! It really did lift up my roots and my hair looks 1000 times better--still not the huge Texas hair, but just better. More texture, more volume--love it so much! buying a bottle for my mom!!!

I bought this based on the reviews I read here. Otherwise I would have just passed it by.
I'm pleased. This adds just a little "oomph" to fine, thin hair. Also, it's not in any way sticky, or makes your hair feel like straw.
I use such a small ammount, I know the can will last me for years!
I find it best to spray it on your palm, then apply it with your fingers instead of directly on your hair.

I use to use AG's BiggWigg but found it a little too stiff and sticky. Also tried Paul Mitchell's Daily Boost Root Lifter - which is good but a *little* soft. I have super fine, thin hair and this gives me great lift and volume....which lasts all day! It's like a lightweight/non-sticky mousse. I put it on my roots and then spray a little into my hands and work through the length of my hair...blow dry upside down and voila! Works great before hot rollering, pin curling or velcro rollers. The only negative for me is that it builds on on the scalp in an odd way - clarifying shampoo helps keep it under control.

It works well but the funky little nozzle I dunno if I like it but is it a moose or a hairspray? Your guess is as good as mine!

I think this is an excellent product for adding volume to my very fine hair and it is a very decent price. I like the lasting power of it as well. A lot of products give me volume and within a few hours, fall flat. This holds up the test.

I was disappointed after reading reviews--I expected more. It smells good, but did nothing for my slippery, flyaway hair. Just made it shinier--which I don't really care about. No lift, no texture, no volumizing. I won't buy again. Cheap to try, though.

I really, really like this stuff, I have a thyroid problem which caused my already baby-fine, thin hair to become even thinner and finer. It was awful. I tried several products to try and "pump up" my hair without good results and due to all the good reviews here I went and bought this and I love it. My hair, while it will never be big Texas hair, it looks a lot fuller and will hold a style a lot longer. I will buy again and again. Thanks Beyond the Zone!!!

You know, at times I wonder if I either have the most uncooperative hair and skin in the world...or if good reviews create their own momentum and spawn more good reviews. Not just this product, but others that have received rave reviews have been just average (and believe me I'm not picky, you should see some of the guys I've dated).
PROS: Smell GREAT, great packaging, and good price. CONS: I initially sprayed it into my hand instead of my hair, (didn't read the directions) and it created a burning sensation...which makes me worry about the ingredients. It made my hair look okay, no better or worse, or more full of volume than any other mousse. nd unlike others, after sleeping my hair was back to looking thin and flat as per usual. The only thing that might make me repurchase is the smell...

I hate to bring down a product that everyone seems to love, but I just don't get it. Am I using it wrong? I went out and bought it because of all the rave reviews. It's not bad, but not worth all the hype. Maybe my hair is just too thick for it? Certainly the price is great, as is the packaging.

This is a pretty good product. I spray it in my roots and comb through, then I blowdry for volume. Not a bad lif--just makes my hair feel a tiny bit dry/knotty sometimes.

This is my HG of hair care. I have died and gone to big hair heaven.
I truly did not think there was a product that would actually visibly lift my hair, but this one does. I applied it at night after washing and blew my hair dry. I was stunned at how big my hair was. So fluffy, yet not the least bit sticky or gunky.
Then, in the morning, it was STILL fluffy. Even with bed head. How sexy is that? I used my hot rollers and I had incredible lift, which stayed throughout the day and a workout at the gym!
Cannot say enough good things about this product...and all for $5.50? Unreal. It is my new must-have. I will sing it's praises to anyone who will listen.

Finally found a fine hair product that doesn't feel sticky or heavy. I use a small amount of this all over on my fine shoulder-length hair and it gives me great volume and light hold that lasts all day. The price is great too.

This product does wonders for my fine hair. Gives me the perfect amount of volume when I blowdry upside down AND it lasts! I wash my hair every second day and this stuff helps it keep lifted and full of body.
