PROS
light texture, enough slip to blend
{physical} spf 20
fragrance&irritant free
CONS
color selection - I have the lightest, which is still dark and yellow {and Im not very pale}
price - 14.95/1oz {yet not really "state of art" formula, just silicones, mere vit C+E, preservatives}
Will not repurchase - due to color - simply doesnt make my skin look good.

I love this product. As many have said before, and as is pretty clear from the name, this is a sheer tint that is best used to even out skin tone. Because I like my skin to show through, I use this to even out my skin tone, then use Paula's concealer (another great product) on any areas that need additional coverage. I like the sheerness of it, because it really gives me more of a "perfect skin" look than a "nice makeup" look. Will definitely repurchase. As with many of Paula's products, I feel like my search is over.

This is not a bad product at all. Good finish, but for me personally, it's just not enough coverage. Seems best for those who just need minor evening out of skin tone. Would be good for young skin. Color range could be better. Maybe they'll ad more later.

I loved this but I can't wear it because like other pale people have also said, the Fair is not fair enough. Other than that, it lasted long on me, looked smooth, not cakey at all and wasn't greasy. If it weren't for the fact that there's not a color that's light enough for me, I would definitely buy this again.

First of all, please note that it is not called a tinted moisturizer, but a sheer tint, so don't expect it to moisturize. I was looking for sheer coverage with a physical sunscreen and this definitely fits the bill. It is very natural-looking and is best for those who just want to even out their skin tone -- don't expect very much coverage at all. I purchased this in Sheer Fair, the lightest shade, but had to return it because it was way too dark. Actually, because it's so sheer, it didn't look terrible, but I wanted it to match my skin. I called Customer Service and she sent me three generous sample for no charge. Based on the samples, I exchanged it for the All Bases Covered foundation, which was a great match. I had to pay to return the tint, but did not have to pay for them to ship the new item, which I thought was fair. I did like the light coverage, but I would advise going a shade lighter than what you normally wear. If she offered a lighter shade, I would repurchase.

I have oily skin and I stopped using liquid/stick/powder/mineral foundation cos I always break out. I started using this when I decided to go for minimal makeup on days I go out. I find this to be an ok product in terms of coverage, it's sheer yet buildable. I used the Sheer Neutral shade and I'm NC25-30 for reference. The finish is semi-matte. I love the fact that it has SPF 20. I still use a separate light moisturiser underneath this especially during winter. It's quite expensive here in Australia so I had to stop buying it. But overall, I was quite satisfied with this.

I have several samples of this stuff and must say that as far as the foundation itself, it's great. The consistency is creamy and has just the right amount of slip to it. It really is a wonderful sheer foundation. I also love all of the colors, they are all truly neutral with no strange pink or orange tones. My only squabble is with the shade - Sheer Ivory. It is much darker than any 'ivory' shade I have ever used or seen. It is most definitely for a light/medium skin tone. If you are pale to light skinned, opt for the Sheer Fair.

This is a good tint for girls with no skin problems. It will not cover any enlarged pores nor any acne scares. And the rest is just wonderful. It lasts a whole day without melting down. Sheer neutral is perfect for my NC20-25 skin.

This is Paula's only product that I will not be repurchasing. My skin can pretty much withstand anything, but about 50% of the time I use it, I feel burning on my face and get reactive redness. This disappoints me because I trust Paula not to use irritating ingredients. I looked at the review on her website and only 1 or 2 others experienced the same, so it must be some particular ingredient that my skin doesn't like.
On days I don't immediately have to wash it off, I do think the color and coverage is good for a tinted moisturizer, however its not exactly moisturizing.
I'm sorry Paula, I still love you and all your other products.

Because Paula is so critical - and rightfully so, don't get me wrong - I expect her products to be virtually above reproach. This product is suggested for those with oily/combination rosacea. I get that because sunscreens are impossible to find for someone with this condition and skin type. I think the product itself is fine BUT I purchased Fair and it is way to yellow for my pale, pink-toned skin.
I get weary of hearing, "yellow-based foundations cancel the redness." No, they don't. And it ends up looking ridiculous. Plus there is something about the pigment in this product that gets even more yellow as the day goes on. Perhaps it is because I put it over the BHA, I don't know. But it is NOT attractive.
Further, because this is a titanium dioxide/zinc oxide formula, I can't remove it with HER cleanser! So I end up using a washcloth, which defeats the whole purpose of not using anything irritating on rosacea skin.
I expect more, way more, from Paula's Choice.

After using this product a while I can say I am very disappointed. Even if I was searching something with light to medium coverage and SPF... the coverage of this product seems to fade into my skin after half day... I will definitely not buy this again...

I bought this because I needed a mattifying TM or foundation. I bought it from the Paula's Choice Web site, and to me, the 1.0 fl. oz. tube was way too expensive. Still, I wanted it to work because then a problem would be solved, even if I had to pay a bit to solve it.
Nope. Problem isn't solved just yet. This TM itself is okay. Just okay, not amazing or outstanding. The texture is nice, but it's not mattifying unless I put powder over it, so the powder is providing the matte--not this TM. Coverage is very light, so don't expect this to even out skin tone or cover much.
The worst of it is that for the price I paid, I bought Sheer Fair, and it's way way way too yellow for my fair skin. For that reason alone, this TM will be used sparingly until it's gone, and then no more.
I hear that ELF has a good product in its tinted moisturizer, so will be checking that out...

I really like this tinted moisturizer (although its marketed as - and is - a tint without moisturizer). It gives light coverage that can be built up a little bit, dries to a nice finish, and most importantly, looks very natural.

I have very oily sensitive skin. This is really the only TM that has really worked for me. I usually help it along with a powder from Mattify Cosmetics made from cornstarch and kaolin clay. It lasts me most of the day. It's not really very moisturizing which is fine because I really don't need much. Coverage is just like the bottle says, sheer, though you can build it up a little bit. I have no sensitivities to this product. These colors are all very neutral, which is fine for me because I have very neutral skin. Most colors are either too yellow or too pink.

I got this in Sheer Ivory after reading the reviews on MUA. I can't say I'm very pleased with this TM, since I almost don't notice it on my skin. It actually IS barely there. It doesn't even out my complexion, and I don't think the color match is that good either. The good thing about it is that it provides some moisture to my skin and that the physical sunscreen is pretty decent at spf 20. So sometimes I just use it as a regular sunscreen or on my good-skin days as a TM.
Now that I have discovered ELF's tinted moisturizer at a much lower price and with much better qualities, I don't think I will ever go back to this one again.

Paula's Choice Barely There Sheer Matte Tint SPF 20 works pretty great! No it does not have a high PPD or super high SPF, however for what it is, it works well. It's a tinted moisturizer, so it's moisturizing enough that I don't need to put a lotion under it, yet it dries completely matte right away! Also the tint is good, no white mask face. The only thing is the tint colors tend to veer on the darker side, so if you're looking at 2 colors, I'd say try the lighter shade. The actives are 5% zinc and 5% titanium. Does not break me out whatsoever. I'd highly recommend this to anyone having trouble finding a sunscreen that works well with their skin!
Me: dry, sensitive, acne prone skin. I'm still going to keep looking for a higher PPD physical sunscreen, however I know that I can always come back to this if need be (maybe I'll use this for winter?).

I've had this tinted moisturizer for a while and couldn't use it because Sheer Fair, the lightest color, was just a bit too dark for me (normally BB Warm Ivory or LM Blush Ivory). Now that I have some color from the sun, it is perfect! It doesn't keep the shine off all day, but it is good for a few hours without blotting. It also doesn't turn me orage and it pretty neutral toned.
Coverage is similar to the LM tinted moisurtizers so it covers a little. I've worn it for a few days and do breakouts or irritation. It is also fairly inexpensive, so worth a shot if you can find a color match (all the colors except for Sheer Fair are quite yellow.)

This is my first tinted moisturizer and I love it! In general, I like most of Paula's products because their is little to no "BS" associated with them (i.e., false marketing claims). The products are simple, but they do what they claim to do. I am way too low maintenance to wear foundation every day, but I decided to try something to even out my skin tone a bit. SPF every day is a must for me.
My only criticism of this product is that I do not find it *quite* hydrating enough for my dry skin, but it is dead of winter right now. In places where the skin on my face is extra dry, I apply a bit of moisturizer with sunscreen under this tinted moisturizer, which works nicely. The color is a perfect match for my light, freckled skin, and this applies nice and sheer, letting my freckles show through. A pea sized drop is all it takes. It spreads evenly. The tube is perfect, with good, controlled, hygienic release of the product. I'm sticking with this - I don't feel tempted to try another brand!

I have light to medium cool-toned slightly dry mature skin and this tinted moisturizer is hands down the best I've found. I've tried most every high end brand such as Chanel, Dior, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Trish McEvoy, Lancome, Estee Lauder and others that I can't think of right now, oh yeah Origins Nude and Improved was a good one but the scent drove me nuts...it smells like twinkies! Paula's Barely There Sheer Matte is aptly named, it is sheer and matte, unlike the shiny "dewy" tinted moisturizers I am used to. It blurs my imperfections and subtly evens out my skin tone but still looks completely natural. I have cool tones skin and many "neutral" shades look yellow on me but Sheer Neutral is the most natural shade I've ever put on my skin, it lessens the redness without the yellow overcast. This product sinks into my skin and feels like my skin, only softer and smoother. I just love it and I keep a tube at work for those days that I don't have time to apply face makeup before work and I can apply this in seconds with a little compact mirror and it looks perfect! I hope Paula doesn't mess with this formula or discontinue it!

This is my favorite everyday foundation. I have clear combination skin but visible pores all over my T-zone and this tinted moisturizer is perfect for evening it all out. My skin looks flawlessly smooth but freckles still show through so it's very natural, it never looks like I'm wearing makeup. This will certainly not cover a pimple or do much for dark circles, I use concealer for those. The finish is moist but not greasy and this is the only SPF foundation or moisturizer that doesn't make me break out, and I wear this every single day. I cannot say enough about this product, I have been using it for over 2 years and have just purchased my 6th tube - LOVE IT. For reference, I am quite fair and wear the sheer fair color.
