I have the dark brown one and its a bit too light and too warm. Im able to darken it a bit by wetting it but its still too light for my brows.

As I've gotten older, my brows have gotten thinner. I don't need to draw them in - just need to make them look a little more lush. Plenty of products will do that - my problem was finding a color that matches my natural light brown/sandy blonde hair. All the "blonde" colors were too light, all the "browns" too dark, and all the "taupes" either had too much grey or too much red. This "light brown" is perfect and while it took a little practice to apply the powder (as opposed to a pencil), now that I've gotten the hang of it, it is all I use. It looks very natural and soft, as opposed to a lot of brow products that give a harsher look. And you can't beat it for the price. I'm still on my first package after over ten months!

This reminds me of Smashbox Brow Tech but without the wax. I use Rosebud Salve in place of the wax. It fills in my eyebrows so they look naturally full (no Sharpie eyebrows). I use my Ecotools angled eyeliner brush to apply this. It is going to last me like 2 years and I use it every day. $6 well spent.

I have this product in the light borwn color and it is perfect! The only problem is that not every store that carries Maybelline cosmetics carries this particular item. It's one of those "bottom shelf items". You know, the ones that are easy to miss, the ones that have a tendency to get discontinued and the ones that are not always available at every display. Oh well, when I see this again I'm going to get a back up, even though I think this case will last a long time, but still I do use it daily. I was using a dark blonde color that looked red. Then I found this Maybelline and am very happy with it.
For reference, my skintone is very very warm, my natural hair color is medium brown but it highlighted golden blonde. My brows are dark so this light brown color works well, even though I have the blonde highlights.

Why o why didn't I discover this sooner? I have highlighted blond hair and light brows that are getting thinner all the time. Discovering this was one of my "aha moments". What a difference it makes filling in my brow line and framing my face! I bought the light brown and it's perfect. I even like the tiny little brush that comes with this. I apply in short, feathery strokes and it always looks completely natural. It seems to stay on even if I forget and run a finger over my brow yet removes with soap and water at the end of the day.

I love this product! I have tried brow pencils and was looking to try a powder, as I thought it would look more natural. Boy was I right!!! I don't know why I waited so long! I have sparse eyebrows and this really helps fill them out and make them look natural. I am a red head, so I have no problem with the redness others keep referring to (though I don't notice it).
I totally recommend this product...my HG of brow fillers!

I bought a Maybelline Define-A-Brow pencil (with the little brow comb on the end) in Light Brown, so I purchased this powder in Dark Brown to have a couple different options. I like the pencil results better, but for bolder color, I love the powder more. It is very blendable, looks great since I have dark brown hair anyway, and lasts a long time! Will probably repurchase if I ever run out.. doubt that'll happen lol but : )

This is a great cheap brow powder if you like NATURAL LOOKING brows. It' s not super pigmented, but its always done wonders for me. I wear my eyebrows shaped, arched, but natural. They do not look filled in or powdered in in anyway thanks to this powder since they are actually very very fine. Each color appears on the skin lighter than it looks in the pan, but can be layered. If eye shadow works for you then there is probably no reason to switch. Sometimes I use my SS266 if I cant fill a certain spot etc. since this brush is so stiff.

I should have paid heed to the few MUA reviewers who noted that although this is a dark brown and looks that way in the case, when you apply this lightly, it looks dark AUBURN BROWN. It's just weird. In my experience with makeup colors, dark brown usually tends towards being more black than red. I am really wanting to find an easy to apply and inexpensive basic like this but the color means I will have to toss.

only took off one for the packaging. like a couple other reviewers, i ended up throwing out the little brush in favor of my slimmer mac eyebrow brush and keeping a rubber band around the package when the lid piece broke off it's hinge.
keep in mind that
1) drug store cosmetics NEVER have good brushes/applicators included--i ALWAYS throw them out and use my own brushes
2) i had the same package for FOUR YEARS and it came back and forth on trips through airport security and survived several of my make up bags and FIVE moves. so im amaaazed that i only needed a rubber band to keep it together. of course it broke, it's cheap!
moving on, i used this product straight through to the pan and scoured the little edges as well. yesterday i bought a new one and, like another reviewer said, really see no need to find another brow color/pencil. i use an angled brush and occasionally dampen my brush first for a smoother/darker application but it works just as well dry.
others in my skintone/hair category (nc37-40 dark brown/black hair) would do as well with the middle toned brown color, but as i go for a more defined pin-up look brow, i looove the dark brown. if i look a liiiiittle too chola (you know... like fergie from the black-eyed peas) i brush some face powder across my brows to soften the edges.
i looove my department store products, usually loathe maybelline but this is the only brow powder i'll ever need. i had a crush on the illamasqua brow powder for a little and eye zing from benefit but honestly see no need to spend 2x and 3x for something i get for less than $5 and use for 4 years

Use this daily. Great staying power. Natural looking, if done with a light hand and preferably a better brow brush. Don't feel the need to search around for another brow powder, happy with this one.

PROS: INEXPENSIVE. Good stiff brush.
CONS: Wish they had more varieties of colors. The medium brown is the right darkness. It does have a tiny bit too much red in it for me, though.
ALTERNATES: I much prefer Elf's version of this that has the wax too.

I have been using this for years and I still return to it everytime I try something new. Its subtle and easy to apply. I keep trying pencils but they always look too dark and dramatic for me. This is easy to brush out if I accidentally apply too much. It is inexpensive and lasts forever. I have the same one I bought about 5 years ago. I lost the brush and the hinge broke but I just put a hair elastic around it. That said, the packaging could be made more durable but the product is so great that I don't really care that much. Its a staple in my makeup bag.

I've been using this product for at least 3 to 4 years. It works great, looks natural and is really cheap. I do not use the brush that comes wiht it, rather I use a slanted eyeliner brush. This is a must have drugstore item.

Ive had this for about 4 years now and I put it on everyday. Its really good. I use it on my tattooed eyebrows to give it a more subtle natural look (and to comb the hairs in place). There is so much product and I'm not even close to the metal part. This is great and will last me more years to come. I will definitely buy again when I run out.

This product wasn't bad, as it did last long. My complaint is, "Dark Brown" has a bit of a red base, which does not work for my sparse, grey-looking brows. I would re-purchase this if the dark brown did not have any red undertones.

I bought this in Dark Brown (20) and use it as a matte eyeshadow. The color payoff is great and it lasts all day.
