This is a very good product, however, I did not use the evil 'vibrator' thing as they end up wasting product (gets absorbed by the sponge). I just did circular motions with my fingers and rinsed. My skin was VERY smooth afterward and my moisturizer was absorbed very quickly. I just dont like the price of it. If it was cheaper I would buy again.

Well, this is certainly nothing great. It did make my skin a little smoother, but it's NOTHING compared to the results I get from Epidermx (& I don't have to use that useless machine with it). Epidermx contains pure, fused, medical grade Corundum Crystal and is: filler free, paraben free, palmitate free, phenoxyethanol free, paraffin free, propylene glycol free, mineral oil free, formaldehyde free, myristate free, SLS and ALS free, and artificial color and fragrance free. Can't say that about Dermanew... Try the Epidermx & don't waste your time or money on this. It's easier to use, less expensive, & produces superior results compared to this garbage.

This thing vibrates like a rabid sex toy. I can't really tell you if this stupid machine works or not in the long run because holding it during the treament makes me want to vomit. Used it once, nothing special, save your money or go spend $10 at Spencers gifts for something that will give you "that special glow". Back it goes. What a waste.

After reading all of the reviews, I decided to give Dermanew a try and I just absolutely love it. I've noticed a lot of people complaining about breakouts and with my uber-sensitive skin, I haven't had a one from this machine. Quite the opposite! My skin has never looked so smooth and so "glowy." :-) You have to remember that if you have acne that is ready to pop, or is already broken, and you run this machine over it, it is going to further irritate your problem AND spread it across your face. I just love this system though. It has considerably faded some scars and made my pores disappear. I have also noticed quite an improvement on the sunspots on my chest and the skin on the back of my hands. This is definitely a keeper! (I gave it 4 stars because of the cheap, crappy plastic and the annoying vibrations when it is on high.)

I used to go to my facial salon for microdermabrasion and it hurts like hell and honestly I didn't see any of my scars fade or go lighter. So I decided to give this a try when skinstore.com had a promotion. I was so excited the day it came and I wasn't disappointed at all..ok maybe a little bit with the cheap plastic that's why I gave it a 4 and it also tremors too much when you put it on high..so I always use the lower setting. But this really works and you get to adjust the pressure yourself and the area you want to concentrate on. I have used it for 2 nights in a row and I see results! My pores are gone and my scars have lightened...it's not my imagination! I glow! However, I did use it in conjunction with a fabulous scar cream called Mederma and a moisturiser that calms the redness right after the treatment.

I bought this for my boyfriend and he loved it. I have tried it too and it makes my skin glow and look smoother. However, the first few times I used it, it makes me break out. If you keep on using it, the breakouts subside. I think it releases a lot of toxins from your skin, which is why at first it breaks you out. This happens to my boyfriend as well, but then his skin looks great. I like to use this with Kinerase, my all time favorite product.

I really like this product. I feel it is effective & better than the office treatments I've had. Only one problem is getting the crystals rinsed off my face. But, I have been using this for 2years and have repurchased the applicators and crystals. I wish it was a little less expensive, but it is worth the results. I am 40 with normal to dry skin and use this once to twice a week.

Wow, did I get steered wrong in purchasing this expensive gadget from Sephora! Maybe there are a few rare people who would be helped A LITTLE by this, and if they've got the money and huge amount of time to use this and like being red and blotchy until their skin calms down, well good for them. I can't help but think that the reviewers who go on about how smooth their skin is after using this must either have some serious scaliness - which is a problem solved by finding the right moisturizer - or, more probably, they don't realize that the reason their faces feel so smooth is that they've been holding on to this VIBRATING WIDGET for long enough that the nerves in their hands aren't up to feeling much of anything. I couldn't be more serious. I firmly believe overworked nerves explain ALL of any perceived smoothness. Please, please, for nearly all of us, there is a world of better ways to spend your time and money than on this nonsense.

i received this as a Christmas present and was so excited to us it. After the first time my skin seemed soft and it glowed but after one week of use, I started to get acne like no other time in my life. I had to go to the dermatologist to get cortizone shots. He said the acne was from the crystals getting under my skin. Microdermabrasion in a Dr. office is similar but they vacuum out the crystals so they aren't left under the skin. It has since been thrown away!

I was given this for Xmas and I have been thrilled with it so far! I did the 5 days in a row to start with and by the end of the week, I was sooooo smooth and buffed, almost shiny! The machine is easy to use and the cream seems to have just the right amount of "grain" ( corundum crystals) in there to do the job. I did not break out at any time and will be definitely buying the refill cream when I run out. I had used another brand about a year ago ( Prai) but found the Dermanew machine and the type of sponge it utilises to be more consistent as you move it around. It buffed the skin more evenly.

Dermanew is a HG product for me. My skin looks amazing when I use it regularly and I get compliments. When I don't use it...there is a big difference. Best thing I've ever bought for my skin.
I had small brown spots from sun damage and over time, they have completely dissapeared.****************update 2/13/05 I am now using Green Cream nightly and have been told I may have no need for microdermabrasion. I'm only a month and a half in to using the Green Cream and have used my Dermanew only twice. It works great to get off the flakies caused by retinol, but I can see how I wouldn't necessarily need it so much once the Green Cream really kicks in....++++++++++++++++++++ UPDATE 1/17/06 - Went back to using this regualarly and am happy with my skin once more. GC didn't do it for me. ++++++++I have combo skin, mid 30's, tend to get dry spots

Two days after I started using this product, my skin broke out, and didn't clear until I stopped using this junk. I returned the kit to skinstore.com for a refund, and will not purchase it again.

This stuff had me breaking out within a day of use. My skin felt great and I could tell that it exfoliated well, but I can't use it. My skin must be too sensative.

I so love this product. I have only used exfoliating products in the past to try and clear and even out my skin. I've read about this and was skeptical at firtst. Then it was offered on qvc as a tsv for around $39.00 and I had to try it, especially since they let you return it if not satisfied. Well, the very first night I used it, I noticed an immediate clearing of my skin, or, more accurately, a brightening of my skin. I thought it might only be temporary and figured I should used it the recommended five days before deciding for sure how satisfied I was really going to be. Well, my skin looks so much brighter, smoother and healthier! I would've loved if it could've taken away more of the brown spots I have on my skin ( from the sun ) but as it is, I do think they are a little less dark than before and I wasn't even counting on that.
I think this product is well worth the money - even if I'd had to pay the full retail price. I will continue to use this and will also purchase additional cream when I run out. Truly an HG facial tool for me!!

I actually only got the tool as I thought the cream was too heavy. This is a convenience for those who mix their own crystals with a cleanser/cream moisturiser, which is probably more value for money and more effective anyhow since you can control the concentration according to how your skin feels (which I am a big advocate of). The tool is a fantastic device, with a circular sponge attachment that massages the skin gently, causing minimal tugging. I like it because I tend to work the crystals pretty hard on my skin and this takes away the tugging. I wouldn't get the cream though. Too heavy and too rough for days when you're a bit sensitive. Corundum is just corundum. Yes to the tool, but I figure there will be better versions at cheaper prices in the near future - it's all made in China.

I bought the I-Skin microdermabrasion kit by Dermanew. I've used it once so far, and the results have been fantastic! Maybe I just had a lot of built-up layers of bad skin, but after one use (last night) this has improved the look of my skin dramatically. My skin looks smoother, the slightly indented acne scars are smoother, pores look tighter and smaller, hyperpigmentation is much less, undereye fine lines are barely noticeable now and skin looks firmer. Also my face hasn't been as oily today. I've had professional microderm. done by my dermatologist in the past and spent a ton of money, but this is going to pay for itself over and again. I am looking forward to results as I use this in the future. I know results are temporary and all that, but I don't plan on not ever using this! I feel so much better about my skin!!! That makes it worth it.
