I absolutely love this cleanser!!!!!!!! :) I'm usually too lazy to remove my makeup, so I just wash my face and this cleanser removes it all for me, even water proof mascara... My skin feels refreshed and the orangy smell is a plus, it does not irritate my eyes... I love that it's organic and that it has vitamin C in it. I will definitely repurchase :D

I bought this product because I remembered liking it a few years ago. That was in my 20s, when my skin was a bit oilier. Now that I'm older and my skin is a little calmer, this is actually too strong of a cleanser for my skin. I thought it would be nice for summer, to get all the sunscreen, sweat, and makeup off, but it left my face red and tight. I'll hold onto it in case I ever get really dirty and want something stronger than normal, but it's certainly going out of the rotation. All that aside, if I was in my early 20s and still had oily-ish skin, I'd probably like this like I used to. It has a nice orangey smell and feels good during use. Certainly effective as a cleanser, just not for me these days.

The cleanser felt nice the first few days. But a week later I noticed my pores got larger. They were clogged. I stopped using it immediately after realizing it was the cleanser that's clogging my pores.
Now, my pores are going down in size, thank God. The only good thing about this cleasnser is that it smells good. I use it as a handsoap now.

I've been using this in conjunction with the serum. I use the serum everyday, but I've found that my combo/oily skin can't always tolerate this daily. If it feels a little tight/dry I use a gentler one for the next wash or so. However, I have found that I think my skin is slowly building up a tolerance, as I can use it more and more regularly.
Not sure if it was the serum or wash or both together, but in the beginning I had the driest/flakiest skin between my nose and lips. I figured this might just be some exfoliation, and used vaseline at night and it went away after 2/3 nights. I feel that this has really helped to brighten my overall skin tone and I would buy this again. The pump part of the bottle leaks, which is a bit of a pain as I move around a lot.
I could imagine drier skin types might need to use this less often. Funny, I originally tried the lavender range from Avalon and that destroyed my skin, and I swore never again. But thanks to the great reviews I decided to try this range, fully expecting it to break me out. Not a problem at all and I will definitely re-buy.

I really like this cleanser! I only paid $0.29 for mine using ExtraCare bucks at CVS and a 20% off coupon, and it was marked down to $7.99 so I guess I got lucky, but I would pay much more for this cleanser. I find it's comparable to Boscia's purifying cleansing gel in that it's gentle and doesn't strip my skin. Love the uplifting citrus scent, which is nice in the mornings when I'm getting ready for work. It won't remove makeup completely (particularly gel eyeliner or waterproof mascara), so I remove my makeup with a separate remover beforehand.

I just bought this cleanser last weekend. I have been using ot for 4 days now. I LOVE LOVE the smell. And I REALLY want to love the product...but I don't.
I do not have sensitive skin. In fact I am sure I have done some horrible things to my face in the name of beauty. And not once have I ever had a reaction. But on day 2 using this product my face strted to itch in a couple of places. I dint think much of it. Day 3-horrible itching and a small rash like patch on my forhead. Last night I woke up scratching my face. Today I have small rash like bumps all over my face. I have not experienced and redness, or burning. Is this temporary, and will get better as my face gets used to it? I don't know. So I emailed the company and asked for their thoughts. I will update in a few days as to their response, and any improvements I see. Im not going to quit using the product yet ( unless my face gets worse, of course).

This is the best cleanser I have ever used!! I've used it at night for about a month and I find myself looking forward to the process every evening.
Pros:
Natural ingredients (many of which are organic)
It smells AMAZING (like fresh oranges)
It has a light lather - nothing too bubbly
Non-drying
Completely removes makeup - even eye make up - with minimal scrubbing!
Does not irritate the eyes at all (as long as you keep them lightly closed, of course)
Cons:
The pump is a little shoddy (leaks a little)

Great cleanser! I have very oliy skin and acne- this product has helped clear my skin up! I love that it doesn't have a lot of chemicals that are in many other soaps/cleaners...plus its smells delish! This hasn't caused any problems with my sensitive skin either- no itchness, dryness, or redness after using this for over 6 months. And the price is uh-mazing (found it on sale at target!). Love it!

So far, so good. I've been using this for about a month now and I'm pleased. I have slightly dry skin and previously had been using Basis cleansing gel for the past 5 years.
I think this edges out the Basis for a few reasons. First, Avalon is more natural and doesn't have silicone in it like Basis. Second I find this cleanser is slightly less drying..probably because it doesn't have tea tree oil in it, which I don't need as my face is more dry than oily. And I think I've actually noticed less blackheads while using this cleanser. The ingredients sound lovely and natural.
Removes makeup in one go and smells great.
Only con is that this occasionally stings my eyes after using.
I may have to try some more out of this line.
Bought much cheaper online compared to in stores.
EDIT: This is too drying to my skin. Will not re-purchase.

I don't have anything good to say about this, it just didn't work for me. Instantly after using it for the first time, my face stung and burned. It turned tight, bright red, and broke out in bumps and pimples and "burnt" dry patches of skin that seem to layers deep. It's been 4 days and my skin has not seemed to heal very much. I've been chugging water and moisturizing , but my skin still looks and feels terrible. The pump also didn't work which annoyed me right away. I have combo/sensitive skin that gets breakouts on my chin normally. This just didn't work on my skin. First and last time using this.

I think this cleanser is fantastic! I have been using this for just over 2 months now with great results. My skin looks clearer and I have less break-outs. My skin is dry-normal and my fiance has oily skin, and this cleanser works for both of us! Major points as I don't have to fit two bottles in my shower! It smells amazing, you only need the tiniest bit and you get amazing foam, removes all my make-up and washes away very clean with no residue. With two people using this daily, after 2 months we haven't even hit the halfway mark. It is a bit drying, but I find most cleansers a bit drying - just use a moisturizer. I will repurchase!

I'm going to have to give this a bad rating. As much as I wanted to like it, it just did not work out for me. First of all, I found it to be very drying after I used it, and my skin felt really tight before I put on moisturizer. Another thing, a strange thing for me, is my skin had a bad reaction to this. I don't have sensitive skin and have actually NEVER had a skin reaction to any products until now. I found when I used this my skin started to burn horribly and my face would turn a bright cherry red, which took like an hour to go away completely. Sorry, but I have to give this a thumbs down.
EDIT: So, I'm going to change this to four lippies because something very strange happened. I experienced the redness and tightness, but about two weeks later it completely stopped, and I didn't change anything in my skin regime. But now it leaves my skin glowing and cleans very well and doesn't dry it out. I'm guessing it has something to do with me but I don't know what. I'm still only giving four because of what I did experience the first couple of weeks.

This is an incredible product....I have been waiting to review it because I wanted to make sure about the results first. In the very beginning, I had a couple of breakouts....I decided to hang in there and I'm so glad I did. Since that time (two months ago), I have not had ONE breakout. Every person's skin is different, but I have combination skin (oily in the T-Zone) and my skin thrives on this. I used one reviewer's advice on combining a small amount of organic sugar with it every other day or so, and it's wonderful. I follow up with my favorite moisturizer, Jason 5000 Vitamin E, both morning and night. Also, as others have said, the scent of the Avalon is amAzing. Between these two products, I feel like I have new skin!

I bought this because I wanted to switch from sulfates. Rather than paying $10 for it at Whole Foods, I got it for $8 at Wal*Mart. It's a bit more than common cleansers but cheaper than the high end companies.
Within the first couple of days using it my face broke out. But I continued to use it & eventually the blemishes went away. IDK what the deal was.
I love the scent. It's a wake up to use it. I love how it cleans. It's not drying.
I like that the pump bottle distributes a decent amount each time. I don't think it's too much. I just hope the straw goes all the way to the bottom & gets the last drop unlike most other pumps. That's such a product & money waster.
I'll probably buy this again.

Ugh I wanted to love this product SO bad. I bought this after reading the reviews on here and used it for about a week - maybe a week and a half. I loved the pump top and the bright coloured bottle. The smell is absolutely HEAVENLY and it is packed with all kinds of good things. I loved the way it felt on my skin, lathered quickly, rinsed clean and left a healthy glow. But, after a day or two I started to notice a few pimples on my face and as I continued to use it, more appeared. I reluctantly switched back to my old cleanser and my pimples cleared up. The odd thing is that the parts of my face that weren't broken out were healthy and soft. It's been sitting on my counter looking at me like a sad puppy ever since because I can't bring myself to throw it out. I gave the product a 4 because I think it's a great product, it just didn't agree with me for some reason, therefore I would not repurchase.
EDIT - I recently found out that essential oils can be irritating to some people's skin which I didn't know before. The reason this smells so good is because it has essential oils in it which may be why I broke out. I don't have particularly sensitive but I've never used anything with essential oils in it before. Just a heads up!

In my quest for organic and biodegradable facial care, i found this cleanser during one of my rare visit to Healthy Options. At that time, i was truly disappointed and depressed of my large swelling pimples on my forehead, chin, nose and cheeks. I never broke out this much until I used Etude House's Sleeping Pack, AC Sunscreen and BB Magic Pact.
I've only been using the product for about a week now. But honestly, my large swelling bumps dried out a bit and the redness just disappears. I like how the gel gently forms into a lather, which is just enough to cleanse my oily pimple prone skin. The orange burst scent is also refreshing and invigorating to the senses. And after, I towel my face dry all I see on the mirror is a refreshed and clean skin. I also did not feel any tightness, itchiness or sting.
I am happy that I found a cheap organic vitamin-packed cleanser like this that's why I will recommend this to my friends who are looking for a cheap yet organic alternative to the expensive stuffs their using.

I am on my 2nd bottle of this. I know everyone's skin is different so I understand this may not work for everyone, but it works very well for me. I have oily skin but I use gentle, natural products so my skin won't be stripped and create even more oil. This face wash is gentle, lathers amazingly with just the tiniest bit, smells amazing, and lasts forever. And it's cheap. What more could you ask for? Oh yes, it also doesn't contain any harmful chemical ingredients! Needless to say I really love this face wash.
The only time this is slightly drying is in the dead of winter, and then i switch it out for something a little more moisturizing. I start using it again as soon as the weather becomes warm. I also use it as a body wash for my back and chest after working out. For those of you whose skin it is drying out, try using a little less. I seriously use less then a pea size and it creates incredible lather. That's saying a lot since it's sulfate free! I also use toner afterwards and my skin still isn't dry.

I've been using this for a few days, and am very happy! I have super sensitive skin, and this doesn't irritate or dry me out. I was looking for something natural and simple to balance with my Obagi Clenziderm line which is really harsh on my skin. Good product! I use it with the toner! I thought Vit C would be good bc I have the microdelivery peel from Philosophy that has Vit C and that did wonders for my skin. Try it!
EDIT: I ended up tossing it because it did nothing for my skin. It did not irritate, but it did not help my oily skin either. I changed it for something more specific for me. I also got rid of the Obagi products because they were too harsh...

I bought this at a sale at my local Whole Foods and was anxious to try it as it is organic, and so far I've had tremendous fortune in natural skincare.
Little background: My skin is pretty oily, or at least was oily when I used many drugstore brands of cleansers. I always thought my problem skin was due to the fact of my diet, or my habits (hair not off my face, touching my face, not eating correclty). Well, needless to say, my skin was, and still is, tough. I've never been sensitive to anything. I've tried a lot of ridiculous things in my time, and feel as if I've treated my face as some people do to their hair. Damaging, while in attempts at making it more beautiful, or something it wasn't. I used St Ives horrible rough scrub, and many other harsh, chemical-ridden cleansers, then to top it off, i'd add the cherry of Benzoyl Peroxide, Retin-A, or Sacyclic Acid. My skin was always inflamed and always oily. I never understood why, and just blamed my stars/genes lol.
Now that I've transferred to organic type products, it has been working with my skin. not against it. no drying, no peeling, and a hell of a clearer complexion.
I was excited to try this. I wanted it to work since it's a lot cheaper than the other organic cleansers that i had luck with (Suki, Mychelle, Fresh, etc) and nearly half the price of the cheapest one I've had luck with (John Masters). As far as I can remember, despite all the harsh things I did to my skin, I never reacted horribly to a product.
This made my face itch so bad and a tad drying (even a bigger turnoff than the first to me). Based on these reviews, I'm not the only one that's had a reaction toward it, so I'd advise filling a sample plastic of it at your local Whole Foods, and then buying it at Walmart if you like it (since it's cheaper there). Still, I will never touch the bottle again. Kind of relieved in a way, since the packaging is quite an eye sore. Not a pretty bottle to have and to hold. lol
