this is a very average product, its more like a vaseline with a minty smell.

I prefer the lip pot from Hauschka I find that its more moisturising and smells better

This is an ok lip balm- ticks the boxes, i.e. from an environmentally-friendly company and doesn't contain cocaa butter (Give me spots) but I think I need something stronger for my lips- so would try the pot next time. I also prefer lip balm to have sunscreen in it.

I love this lip balm. It's perfect imo because it's in a stick format so easy application and the texture is super smooth and soft so it glides very easily too. Not to mention it has a slight rosey fragrance to it which is superb. I am in total love. This is my HG lip balm and even though it's ridiculously expensive at $14.95 Cdn (before taxes) I may continue to purchase. I may change my mind if the $ goes higher as it's pretty ridiculous pricing for a lip balm. My other HG lip balms are the TBS Peppermint lip balm and Caudalie Grapeseed lip balm which comes in a stick format as well. The TBS one is much cheaper than this one so I may just stick to that if the price of this lip balm goes past $15 Cdn. Caudalie is near par to $ of this one so if it goes past $15, then no sale for me too.

Because I am a lip balm h00r I obviously had to try this on my world campaign to test every lip balm possible.
As far as natural or non natural goes, I am neutral. I love Carmex just as much as I love plain shea butter. What I really want in a lip balm is that it work at keeping my lips feeling conditioned.

I do like its staying power (which is longer than usual for a natural balm on me) and the smell does not bother me. However, the waxes in this make it hard, and in winter I find it hard to pick up product and get glide without warming this in my hand. Still it does its job with no irritation, and makes for a great lipstick base.

In the same price range with similar ingredients, I much prefer the Mode de Vie shea butter balm or Nuxe lip balm in the pot. However, as Mode de Vie is hard to get here, I will probably rebuy as I like the portability of a stick format, which the Nuxe does not offer.

I have mixed feelings about this balm.

I have incredibly dry, flaky, peeling lips almost year round. I've been desperately looking for a miracle cure for a couple years now, and figured I'd give this a go. The balm itself is on the hard waxy, side, but it does soften and condition really well - especially the gross, hard chapped stuff that I can't take off with a scrub. However, I find that it doesn't heal very well. It sort of takes the gross flaky stuff to a certain level, but it doesn't heal or moisturize my lips well enough so that when it wears off, it first leaves my lips a little thick and "rubbery" feeling, which quickly progresses to flaky and gross again. Even if I reapply immediately, it never seems to be able to get my lips past the "rubbery" phase.

I haven't found *anything*, however, that softens the hard gross peely stuff like this balm though. Usually I end up peeling that part off and making myself bleed... (other things just tend to sit on top and do nothing at that point). This softens enough that I can then use Garden Botanika's Vitamin E lip treatment to finish the job. Using these two products in conjunction has finally made my lips normal again.

A lot of people have commented on the smell of this balm, and while I am not usually one to let smell of products get to me, I have to say this particular formula gives me a massive headache almost immediately, so I use it very sparingly.

Very nice! I am trying to incorporate more natural products into my routine so I decided to try this one out. It really is very good. It definitely seems to heal and moisturize. It also lasts longer than most other "natural" lip balms I have tried without being heavy or gloppy. Lightly scented but no taste which I like. It is very expensive for a lip balm though so I'm not sure this will become a staple for me.

WOW. I am a lip balm addict, and I am always, always on the hunt for the next best lip balm. I've found a few good ones, but they're never the absolute best, and so I wander off, searching for new ones, convinced that the "best" one is still hidden out there. And for the first time, I think I've found it -- it's this balm. I am amazed. First, it seems to literally heal my lips. Some other lip balms are great at providing moisture or color, but the effect is always temporary; I never feel like they are healing my lips. But with this balm, I actually feel like this is a salve or ointment to heal and protect my lips (and I've tried actual salves and ointments that don't even compare!). Second, the smell is great -- sweet roses. Delicious. Third, the texture is divine. It's not waxy, it's not petroleum-goopy, it's a silky thin texture. Thing is, b/c the texture's thin, it feels like it's fading off quickly. When this happens with other thin balms, I feel ripped off -- but when that happens with this one, it really feels like it's happening because the balm is sinking it and healing your lips. Totally different feeling. But don't let the thin texture fool you -- it's really moisturizing. I've put it on overnight, and wake up the next morning with my lips still very moisturized (about comparable to putting Aquaphor on my lips at night). The bad thing is, of course, the price -- $14 at Whole Foods for the stick. But it's totally worth it; I would definitely get this again (and I'm planning to!). Best lip balm I have ever, ever used.

I love this product, one of the only lip balms that softens dry lips and also keeps them soft awell. I love the more hygenic tube, instead of a pot and also the lovely rosey scent.
I had really peeling dry lips and I was in a vicious cycle of peeling off dead skin and ending up with raw lips, Dr. Hauschka rwally helps prevent dryness. It is a little more expensive than other lipbalms, but you don't need to apply it very often to get good results, therefore it lasts longer!

My HG lip balm! Only thing it lacks is SPF (and a cheaper price). Not waxy at all like Burt's Bees, but not goopy like the Rosebud Salve. I use it day and night. Works well as a base under lipstick and even lipgloss. I really like the "natural" smell to it. I first bought it in January and just now had to buy my second tube. Will continue to buy.

Dr. Hauschka Lip Care Stick is very moisturising and great for my dry lips. It effectively nourishes lips, while leaving a healthy, silky sheen. Has gentle ingredients that soothe and moisturise dry lips and care for them with healing ingredients. I really like the smell as well, natural and slightly rosy. The orange colouring is a bit strange, but by no means does it leave a weird orange film after applying, just a soft, silky shine and healthy, nourished lips. The small tube lasts a long time and it's easy to carry around/chuck in your purse.

Along with Vasaline, this is one of my favorite lip balms.
My lips need continuous moisture throughout the day and it really helps! It doesn't peel off and it stays on for a long time. The scent is rosy and likable. One thing I don't like is that the stick is quite shaky and unstable. It feels like I'm gonna break it if I push too hard. Also, I've used half of the stick in only about two weeks:( Overall, it's a great product!

My absolute favorite, #1, HG lip balm! It's not waxy, not too oily (just enough for moisture and shine), all natural, smells great - like roses ... there's only two things wrong with it: 1) it's a little expensive and 2) it's hard to find in my area - in fact, I have to mail order it directly from Dr. Hauschka - but it's totally worth it! (For those times I do run out, I rely on my #2, Weleda Everon.) Another perk - other reviewers have mentioned that it gives a tint to your lips and I totally agree. In any case, if you feel like splurging on your lips, and you can find it, (why oh why did Sephora stop carrying Dr. Hauschka?), give it a try. EDIT: While I still love this lip balm, it's been relegated to my #2. My new fav is John Masters Lip Calm.
EDIT: I love you, Dr. Hauschka lip balm stick - I really, really do! But you melt and break in heat - and I live in the desert - so that creates a problem for me. One lippy off but I still have lots of love for you! <3

I like this lip balm. All the ingredients are natural and my lips really like this product. I do have very dry lips, and before this I used Vaseline only. But vaseline only made my lips drier and I had to apply very often. This is not sticky and my lips is now independent and I don't need to apply lip balm 50 times a day, but only once or maybe twice a day.

This is a good lipbalm. It is very moisturizing and not sticky at all. The scent isn't as fresh as some lipbalms are because it's a sort of rose/floral/herbal.... But that is the only drawback in my mind. The texture is perfect.

I am a lip balm junkie. I was really excited to try this, although it's a little pricey for a lip balm. The packaging is nice, convenient and attractive. The balm itself is really not very impressive. I will not repurchase this. I was really disappointed and will continue trying all of the many lip balms out there, but will more than likely always go back to Aveda LipSaver. I have not decided if I will try any other Dr.Hauschka products b/c they are expensive and so far nothing to write home about. I will still use it just because it makes me sad that it was so expensive and it's a fine product, it's just not amazing, which I feel it should be. Oh, well. Now I know. Oh, and the smell is fine. It's not too strong. The packaging lists natural ingredients and claims no dependency, which I agree with. I guess another upside to the stick is that it's not too soft, so it lasts longer. If you want all natural, I would say you might really like this, but I prefer the Aveda one.

****Update****

I have been using this every night before bed. I have decided I like this. I don't LOVE it. I still don't know if I would repurchase, especially for the price. It's nice, though. I don't mind that it has no SPF b/c I use it at night. It's soft. It applies well. I just bought La Roche Posay Ceralip and it is really poor compared to this! I will still say that Aveda Lipsaver is my #1 favorite and Burt's Bees is the bottom of the list for me. I still don't understand the hype. Blah!

I am a bit of a lipbalm fanatic, so I have tried many products out there. This one is quite good. Not too expensive, but belonging to a good brand. It doesn't add any colour, so works well as a base for lipsticks, etc. Moisturizes well, but not enough for me. I tend to bite my lips when I am stressed (which is about 90% of the time), so I need intense moisturizing products to take care of my lips - and this just wasn't up to par, even though it did help more than many others I have tried in the past. I am always on the lookout for better lip products, so I don't think I'll be buying this one again.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good product - but not for lip-emergencies. So if you are looking for an everyday, basic lipbalm that's easy to apply and not a hassle to use, Dr. Hauschka's lip balm is a good one to invest in.

This product is very moisturizing and does not slip off my lips as easily as Chapstick does. Although it doesn't add any color to my lips, it improves their appearance by making them a little bit shinier. They don't look glossy or sticky, just more vibrant than they are naturally. The problem is that this product breaks me out around my lip line, which, as you can imagine, is very unattractive. I don't have this problem with other lip products and fortunately the break outs stop just days after I stop using this lip balm. If you're lucky enough not to have an adverse reaction, this is a nice product even though it's quite pricey.

I think this is a fantastic product. I am a self confessed lip balm junkie and I am always looking for balms that moisturize, have a nice sheen/shine but no strong or off putting smell. I pay particular attention to good quality ingredients, including oils, plant butters, etc. This balm is my new favorite and I can understand all the raves for it. It applies smoothly and wears very well. Its texture is smooth, not overly creamy or waxy but very moisturizing. I really enjoy the natural scent even if it seems to dissipate quickly after the application. Above all, I love that it leaves a beautiful sheen. I usually do not wear any lip products (lipstick or gloss) and I depend on my lip balm of the day to keep my lips shiny and nice looking. This lip balm delivers on all count and I am very happy with it. I will repurchase without a doubt, in fact I am debating buying a couple more to keep around at my desk and in the bathroom.
EDIT: I lowered the rating to 3. With time, the scent / flavor of the lip balm become overwhelming and I could no longer tolerate it. It's really too bad because it is an excellent lip balm otherwise. I gave my remaining tubes to my mom who seems to love it!
