I bought the whole skin care line hoping for some relief from my acne-prone skin. After about a month of using this product my acne was about ten times worse. The lotion was sticky feeling. I will NEVER use this product again.

I love this skincare line. I have been using it for about two months now, and I have seen the most amazing turn-around in my skin. I had grown so frustrated at battling continual acne problems in my late 20s that I was willing to try nearly anything. What I have discovered is that salicylic acid is just not good for my skin, but lactic acid definitely is. My normal/combination skin has never been this clear in my life. The products are inexpensive, and are packaged so that I usually use all three of them at the same rate--so I run out of all three at once and can buy a whole new set. I like that. There is a slight medicinal smell, but it seems to fade quickly, so that doesn't bother me. I've also found that my makeup stays in place much longer since I began using these products. And finally, the price is so reasonable. You can't beat that!

I'm oily and prone to breaking out. I got this 3 days ago. I like how it goes on matte, but doesn't dry me out. It tingles just slightly after applying, but goes away and my face doesn't feel irritated. I don't see any new lumps, but I should give it a week or two to say for sure. Even though it doesn't have SPF, I think it might have a little b/c titanium dioxide is one of the ingredients.
UPDATE: Ugh. For about two weeks, I used this exclusively, and it clogged me where I normally don't get whiteheads/blackheads. Throwing it away. I really wanted to like it b/c it's so matte, but I guess the thickness of the cream was too much for my skin.

I have tried the entire line of Eucerin acne products(lactic acid) for 2 months religiously and little-by-little, I started getting alot of acne (all whiteheads) instead of my usual 1-2 whiteheads/month. One by one I eliminated the toner, the facial wash but kept using the moisteriser. I didn't use any other new product. I like the way it doesn't make my face oily, but it doesn't apply smoothly and leaves your face feeling dried out for a few minutes. The smell reminds me of corn-chip feet but not as strong. This might work for some, but doesn't help my combination/sensitive skin. Something in this lotion is clogging my pores.

After reading earlier reviews I was a little worried about the smell, but I really don't find it that offensive, and it fades quickly. I usually mix this moisturizer with liquid foundation and then lightly rub it on my face. At first it leaves a whitish matte cast, but that disappears in a couple minutes as the moisturizer sets in. So far it has not irritated my skin or caused me to breakout. I don't know how much it does to prevent new breakouts, because I started a new birth control pill at the same time. Although I don't have any major complaints about this, I don't think I'll buy it again as I want something with SPF.

I like this product. Odd smell, but in a nice way. Does have a mattifying effect. Along with the cleanser and toner (part of the 3 step system), it has changed my oily, acne-prone, and sensitive skin into something I am happy to see reflected in the mirror. Not perfect, but quite clear and smooth.

This has now become my daily moisturizer. I have very oily, acne-prone skin, and this has really controlled my oilslicks. It has a nice mattifying effect that lasts through the entire day. And I havn't noticed any breakouts as a result of this. Others has complained about the scent, but I find it to be very fresh and clean smelling.

The smell at first does make me gag! But I have noticed an improvement in my sensitive, combo skin so I've just been using it at night. I read somewhere that lactic acid is more gentle than BHA/AHA's...

This product is horrible!! Okay, maybe I'm being to harsh but let's just say this moisturizer sent me to the dermatologist. I have eczema all over my body including my face and thankfully its currently under control. So, I use eucerin on my body and just assumed that their facial product would be ok. Boy was I wrong!! I guess the lactic acid is a big no-no when you have eczema. I've had eczema for a while now and have never experience anything quite like this. I mean, I had to take prescription steriods just to combat the inflammation that this moisturizer caused. Please be cautious with this product- it's not worth the trip to the dermatologist.

Bought this in trial size pack along with toner and cleanser. This moisturizer didn't seem that easy to spread, has fragrance, and balled up some under the sunscreen I applied over it.

I couldn't find my usual drugstore moisturizer,L'oreal hydrafresh, so I decided to try this one on a whim. The smell of this is absolutely disgusting..I can't even describe it,but it makes me almost gag.(I'm not usually to sensitive to fragrance in products) The smell does go away after you put it on,but I always wash my hands. It does seem to keep my face matte longer, and my skin is looking clearer since I've been using it. However, it doesn't seem to spread very well on my skin. I guess I'm just used to my gel moisturizers. I also wish it had an SPF in it. I will continue to use this for a few weeks to see if it really does make a difference in my skin. I just wish they would get rid of that nasty smell..yuck!!

I just cannot get past the smell of this stuff. It's very tough to put on evenly, and I really believe it broke me out even worse. Back to searching...

Been over a week now and I think its safe to say its a keeper. (at least for summer time that is.)I get oily during the summer like most and like the fact this is a very matte moisturizer. No problems as far as breakouts/irritation. But it is kinda stinky. I feel so clean after I put it on, not greasy/slimy. UPDATE 7-3-03: Although I still think it's a great mattifying moisturizer, I recently got hooked on Complex-15 moisturizer. I realized that w/my skintype,I don't NEED to put moisturizer ALL over my face. So after getting really dried out from BP (was battling a nasty breakout)I needed something for my cheeks and tried out Complex-15. My skin loves this new stuff so far but I'll continue to give this Eucerin 5 lippes b/c its the best matte moisturizer I've used in a long time.

I tried this when I was having some minor skin flare-ups and have been overall very happy. I have super sensitive skin and this cream doesn't irritate me a bit. Though I prefer fragrance-free skincare, the fragrance in this is not unpleasant but a bit too heavy. A nice drugstore stand in for my normal skincare. Leaves my skin moist and clearer. Update: Fragrance has been a problem for my sensitive skin. Will not repurchase.

This is my HG moisturizer. I have very oily, acne prone skin, and this acts as a light moisturizer and a mattifier. My skin looks absolutely beautiful after putting it on--not blotchy at all like with most moisturizers. I can even go without foundation for a little while when I wear this, because my skin looks so clear. I pray that Eucerine never discontinues this!!!

I've been using this for 2 days now, and I think I really like it. Seems to have no pore-clogging ingredients, and moisturizes without making my oily areas greasy. In fact, it seems to have a mattifying effect. My face felt really soft, and so far no breakouts or irritation on my conbo/sensitive skin. It comes in a nice, sleek tube. This contains Lactic Acid to unclog pores, and the only drawback is that because of this it has kind of a weird, unpleasant smell. But, the other benefits outweigh this factor so I will probably repurchase.

I bought the cleanser and I decided to give the lotion a try. I'm glad that I did because really like it. It comes in a flat squeeze tube. It is a nhice light moisturizer, perfect for the summer. It provides just enough hydration without being greasy.
