A few months ago I was battling terrible cystic acne that was concentrated around my cheeks and jawline. I tried high end washes and treatments that sometimes helped but never really CLEARED my skin. Then I read great reviews on using glycolic peels to treat acne, so I tried DDF's line since I'd already heard it was good. This toner ALONE cleared my cystic acne in about 3 weeks. I am in love with DDF and this toner is my HOLY GRAIL!! I still get the occasional pimple, but nothing compared to what I had before, and quickly cleared up if I use this 2-3 times a day. I would like to note that I do a serious amount of exfoliating every week. I think that COULD be the problem with people who say they broke out after 2 or 3 weeks of "glowing" skin. It makes your skin peel, so if ur not exfoliating, the skin that's peeling off will only clog your pores. I use Philosophy's microdelivery 1 minute peel, and microdelivery 2 step peel once a week. They go perfect with this toner. My daily wash is Neutrogena salacylic acid skin polisher, and my moisturizer is DDF light Dew.

This is generally a pretty good toner. It's strong, so probably not for sensitive skin. While it didn't bother my combo skin, I won't repurchase due to the amount of alcohol and witch hazel in it as I'm trying to only use alcohol-free, etc. toners as my skin gets older. Otherwise this is a good way to incorporate glycolic exfoliation into one's regimen. The price is pretty good for the size of the bottle, especially compared to the cost of many of DDF's other products. Bottle is lightweight plastic with easy to use top and will last several months.

If you are looking for a toner that exfoliates and prevents mild breakouts without drying, stinging, irritating, or leaving skin sticky, try this! I like washing with gentle cleansers, like Purpose, because I need to wash the tops of my eyelids to remove oil and makeup residue and most face washes (particularly medicated) make my eyes sting when I do this. So I have been looking for years for an exfoliating toner, to do the exfoliating work that my washes don't. I've tried countless salicylic acid (beta hydroxy) toners and they always irritate my skin, leave it sticky, and sometimes aggravate breakouts. So I was overjoyed when I found DDF Glycolic Toner 10%. If you have combination, oily, and/or mild breakouts, try it! Its a little pricey, but its sold at Sephora, and I've never had a problem returning products to Sephora if I'm not satisfied.

Unfortunately, I did not have the great results that the majority seems to with this product. I have extremely acne-prone skin, so I decided to patch test this, starting slowly. I already use a glycolic cleanser, so I'm not entirely sensitive to all glycolic, but this one was a nightmare. I used it every third night for a couple weeks, and almost immediately I got angry breakouts just in the area I was using it. I should have stopped right away, but I thought it might be "purging" (which I'm still not sure I believe in). Nope. Just kept getting worse. I discontinued use and am just now clearing up from that awful breakout. I also didn't care for the sticky feeling it left on my skin, regardless of the inefficiency of the product. Obviously, I returned it. If you're sensitive as well, I would definitely recommend to do a patch test first.

I kick myself for not trying this product sooner! I bought it during Sephora FF, and was so excited to receive it. My expectations were met - it feels refreshing upon application, doesn't sting or dry me out either - despite the alcohol content. My skin actually has a glow, and is less oily throughout the day. I have pretty rugged skin (3 times on accutane and virtually any other oral or topical for acne) so I allow myself to use this daily, prior to moisturizing. It seems a little spendy at first glance, at near $40 a bottle but I hope I can stretch it for a while before I need a new one!

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Love this, wish I would have tried it sooner! Has immediately transformed my skin. Skin is more even, refreshed looking and it has reduced the appearance of pores. This stuff really works! YAY!

Definitely thrilled I decided to buy this product. I have been using it for the past week and a half after buying it from Sephora for $38. I have been using it in the morning after washing my face and before I go to bed at night. The major difference I have noted is that my skin definitely does look alot brighter than before and this may not seem like a big deal considering that I still experience my regular pimple here and there but my complexion looks amazingly vibrant and glowing compared to the dull skin I was faced with before. The bottle is huge and you honestly dont have to use that much..Im thinking this will last me at least 2 months since I tend to overdue it sometimes D:

I usually stick to Dermalogica, but I really like this toner - plus it's pretty cheap considering other higher-end luxury skin care lines. I got it off ebeauty.ca. (free shipping over $25 for all you Canadian gals). It really smoothes out my complexion and makes makeup application much easier - not as much flaking when I put on my MAC powder foundation. It's not too drying or harsh, which I like, too. Yay!

My normal/oily skin loves this product! It is expensive but has, along with using my Clarisonic for cleansing, made my skin so smooth and supple with a nice glow.
Don't get it in your mouth, though, as it tastes nasty.

My forehead was full of clogged pores, leading to small bumps that never went away. I've tried BP, SA, PC AHA, and all kinds of cleansers but they all dry out my skin and fail to get rid of the bumps.
I decided to stop using cleansers and use diluted astringent at night to clean my powder sunscreen (Colorscience- love it), rinse my face and use DDF toner every other night.
In two weeks, my bumps are 95% gone and to my surprise, my ultra reactive skin has been well behaved and tolerating.
I did get two big, headless pimples which lasted 4 days... and that was it. I don't believe in purging, so I would have stopped using it if my skin would have gotten much worse after starting it. (I have super sensitive skin and have learnt to not push my luck.)
I love this product! I have only had this result from RetinA, minus the extreme flaking from the latter.
Highly recommended.

DDF has become my all time favorite skincare line. It has changed my skin into gorgeous skin...I've suffered from hormonal acne off and on for five years. I've been to doctors and tried pro activ and lot of other products. I always thought toner was uneccessary and a waste of time and money but this is not your ordinary toner. Glycolic acid is amazing for acne, large pores, the texture, and tone of your skin. It really helps fade acne marks! This stuff is great combined with the benzoyle peroxide gel...

Yeah this stuff does the job. I was using this over the winter and my skin was was lookin pretty good but I attributed to a combination of products, lifestyle choices and supplements. I wasn't really in love with it and it's pricey for a toner so when I ran out I didn't repurchase it. Well my skin started acting up a little and I went all crazy trying different foundations and powders because summer was coming and I hate having a heavy look in the heat. Well one or two of the things I tried (Everyday minerals? Revlon Mineral Mousse?) clogged the crap out of my skin - all rough and bumpy like. Some little voice in my head told me I should try this again and I'm glad I did. It's been a week and my skin is getting smoother and clearer by the day. If it continues to keep my skin in good condition than i will suck it up and keep paying the $35.

I have very large pores and combination, acne-prone skin. I was pretty skeptical about this product because NOTHING works on my skin, but man. This stuff is good.
I have never in my life been a person who gets complimented on her skin, but it happens every single day since I started using this toner two months ago. My pores are smaller, my acne is more controllable, and my forehead is less oily.

I have been using DDF's Glycolic 10% toner for about three weeks now. I was initially very skeptical that it would do much for me -- I have tried a lot of products in the past and not many of them have impressed me. But based on some good reviews here I decided to go for it.
I started using this toner specifically for my pores. I have very oily, acne-prone skin with large, visible pores that make my face look rough-textured. I've been searching for some kind of regimen for years that will give my skin a more appealing look with little success. So I didn't have high hopes for DDF, especially since I saw no change in my skin for about the first two weeks of use.
However, once I got into week 3 of use, I did notice a difference -- a pretty big one, actually. The usual hormonal breakout I get along my jawline and on my neck with every period just didn't happen this time. The toner is the only difference in my skin care, and no changes in diet, stress level, etc., so I think it's safe to conclude that the toner made a huge difference here. After three weeks of use, the feel of my skin is much smoother and softer -- less tiny bumps and no rough patches.
And, wonder of wonders, MY PORES ARE GETTING SMALLER! I am so thrilled! This is the ONLY product I've found that makes a big, noticeable difference in my pore size and clarity. (Some masques I've used do shrink pores but the effect is very temporary...a few hours only.) After consistent use, DDF toner is slowly clearing more pores out every day so they are less visible and are shrinking in size. It took a few weeks to see that difference, but every day now I notice my skin looks smoother and less pore-ravaged.
Red spots from old acne breakouts have virtually disappeared. I haven't had to use any benzoyl peroxide spot treatment for new zits since about Week 2 of using the toner. I even apply the toner VERY CAREFULLY around my eyes, where it is visibly reducing the few fine lines I have there and clearing up my milia bumps. Yay!! Glycolic acid really is great...I'd heard so much about it but had only tried one lotion that stung badly and felt weird on my face, so I didn't use it very consistently. DDF Toner is much more pleasant to use, although it does have -- ahem -- a certain smell, rather like a bunch of Phish fans are having a drum circle on your face, if you know what I mean. Am I the only one who thinks it smells like that?
It does have a lot of alcohol in it, so I can see this toner being very drying on faces less oily than my own. However, if your skin is normally about as oil-productive as the Persian Gulf, you should be good to use DDF Toner. It really has worked wonders for me.
Definitely apply a sun-protective moisturizer, as it will make it much easier to get a burn.
The packaging isn't great -- it's easy to lose some precious toner from the cap if you're not careful. I rated the price a 3 because it is $35 for 8 ounces, but it ought to last a couple of months at least, which is fairly reasonable considering it really does do a great job.
I will never be without this toner, I can tell already! I'm excited to watch my gigantic pores get even smaller...hooray! <3

I have been using this product for 3 weeks. My skin is very oily. Within an hour after moisturizing and makeup, my oil takes up an entire blot sheet. I also have many blackheads on my nose. Before this toner, I used to use pore strips every week to just help with the blackhead problem, but it wouldn't get rid of all of them. All the blackheads would just come back within a few days. Other than the oiliness and blackheads, I rarely get pimples or breakout. Anyway, I use this toner at night after washing my face and before moisturizer. I don't want to use this in the daytime because of the glycolic acid. I don't want the sun to damage my skin. (I alternate between Clinique's Mild Clarifying Lotion and Ole Henrickson's Grease Relief Toner in the daytime.) I get a tingly feeling when using this toner. It doesn't sting that badly at all. With this toner, my blackheads don't come back! My skin is so much clearer! I am so happy I found this product. My skin does get a little dry sometimes, but I always moisturize after so it's not much of an issue. The price is a little steep, but this is worth it. I feel like a bottle will last me ~4 months maybe. I will repurchase.

I feel that I can accurately write a good review on this product since I've been using it for about three months. I've been meaning to write a ton of new reviews for a while now..oops.
Anyways, I don't know any real negatives except cost and packaging. For 35$ you get a ton of product - still can barely tell I've used it and I'm almost into the 4th month, but it's hard for a broke college kid to shell out the cash. It'll last a year, easily, though. Next, the bottle sucks. That's it.
It works, but since I have naturally dry and flaky skin, once a day is too often for my skin, which I was doing for almost a month. Every other day is enough for me. It kind of tingles, but only for about 30 seconds. After about 10 minutes I put on my heavy duty ponds moisturizer and I'm done I only use it at night because I'm worried about getting burned. It makes my skin kinda red for a few hours too.
Bottom line - it works. Clarisonic with CeraVe, DDF 10%, ponds lotion. Easy. smaller pores, better complexion, softer fine lines on my forehead, and less bumps and milia.

Absolutely best toner I have ever used. Within a day my face was smooth, clearer and more radiant. i would never use a different toner. I have normal dry to oily skin and it balances my skin perfectly and removes anything my cleanser leaves behind.

DDF Glycolic Toner is another toner I have tried. I bought it because I have had success with alpha hydroxy acid toners on my acne prone skin. Like some glycolic acid products this does sting a little bit when you first use it, but it is not too bad and not always. In does do well in tightening the skin, but it is also drying. And really I should have guessed that this would be the cse, because it lists alcohol before glycolic acid. Alcohol always dries my skin. That may be fine for acne, but because I struggle to keep my skin from geting dry, precisely because I use so many acne products, I really could not use this for long. I could not even finish the bottle. It's expensive, and if you prefer an alcohol based toner, thi is probably one of the best, but don't make the mistake of thinking this is a good alpha hydroxy acid toner.

i've been using this for three days now and immediately see a difference. i'm normally very sceptical about skincare products but this one seems to be doing what it promises! pores seem more refined (i have huge ones), and overall my face seems smoother and brighter. the toner has also seemed to have calmed down by hormonal breakouts on my jawline, although this could be due to my hormonal cycle as well. i didn't experience any purging like i did with avene's diacneal. my skin is peeling just a little, but it's definitely nothng serious.
on first application it stings a little and it seems quite strong, but the feeling wears off in a while. it doesn't at all bother me now. i only use it at night, however, since i think it makes my skin more photo-sensitive. the bottle is a little unwieldy, and some toner leaks out when pouring on to a cotton pad so be careful not to waste any product.
i'm hoping the good results will continue, especially with fading post acne marks! :) will continue updating... i'll definitely repurchase!

MY SKIN TYPE: I'm 27 yrs old with normal/combination skin. Ance isn't a problem for me. My hopes for this product were for it to even out any dark spots from stray blemishes, soften fine lines/creases in forehead, and make my skin glow.
MY PROCEDURE: At the end of every day I would wash my face with Mario Badescu Enzyme cleanser and then use DDF toner all over my face. I applied it generously with no moisturizer afterwards.
MY RESULTS: since i've been using this for almost two months i feel safe to post my results. This toner did not lighten any dark spots and it verrrryy slightly softened my fine lines/creases. Where this product truly shined was creating a beautiful radiance/glow to my skin. I'm constantly looking in my car rear-view mirror at how lovely my skin is glowing! And an added benefit was major major pore shrinkage and it got rid of all of my blackheads. Plus, when i do get a pimple, it vanishes quickly.
WHAT SURPRISED ME: after reading reviews about this toner being so heavy duty/drying/strong i was surprised that after using it i didn't even NEED moisturizer! i never experienced any redness or irritation either. Yes, upon application it feels tingly but that sensation subsides rather quickly.
so.... I love this toner. I'm very pleased with the soft glowy texture my skin now as and i love that it didn't irritate my skin. plus i never experienced any purging! which i was very worried about since i had bad purging using the glycolic gel from Peter Thomas Roth.
