What a waste of money. I've been reading tons of amazing reviews on this product, but it's done nothing for me.
I bought it to clear up my skin and even out my skin tone, which can get riddled with hyper-pigmentation spots after breakouts. They take months to fade, and it's frustrating because my skin could be clear, but doesn't look it because of the damn spots!
So after reading the reviews on how smooth and even and glowing their complexion became after using this stuff, and the purging and flaking and all that business, I thought "Wow, this must be some powerful stuff, sounds like the solution to all my problems!" I even wrote on their forum where the company's rep responded to users, and he replied that ethnic skin responds amazingly well to retinols and wouldn't make my hyper-pigmentation worse.
I bought Level 6 to begin with, and started out with a once daily application at night. I noticed that my skin got a little dry, but that was warned about before hand, so no worries there.
But after a month of use, I had noticed no difference in my skin. It was the same as it'd ever been. Color me disappointed...
I still have the container, and use it around my eyes, mouth, and nose at night occasionally, just to use it up.
I'm not going to waste my money and pin my hopes on Level 9.

Been using Green Cream for a few months now and have to say I really love, love, love this stuff. I have very dry skin 365 days a year, never had a problem with oil or acne even as a teenager and have never used a retinol based product in my life. So started with samples of Level 3 and 6 for a few weeks and quickly went in to using Level 6 nightly with no issues what so ever. I never had any purging, redness, peeling or irritation that some others have had using GC...so I feel very fortunate in that.
I have to say I started taking my skin care seriously back in September of this year when I noticed discolorations, uneven skin tone, an abundance of freckling that seemed to pop out of nowhere (I have always had freckles but not in the places they were popping up!) even on my lower lip area. I also noted facial sagging and the appearance of nasolabial and marionette lines as well....more or less I was a complete wreck...and this all happened within a short period of time due to stresses over the past several months in my life.......Going from people telling you that you look 20'ish at 37 to what I was looking like was really horrible for me.....
While I do use other products on my skin that have helped me tremendously, I do owe the world to GC Level 6 as it has been the main foundation of my skin turn around. What I have noticed it did was evened out my skin coloring and tone....reduced my freckling (even got rid of the one on my lower lip)....I have gotten more firming, but cannot attest this solely to the GC as there are other things that I am using that would cause this also......it made my skin texture very smooth....I noticed a reduction in pore size on my forehead from early on, the pores on my cheeks have only now noticeably gotten smaller, but here again, there are other products that I am using now that I wasn't using a few months ago that may have helped with the cheek pore size as well. All in all, I have loved what this has done for my skin...it has made it look so much healthier, clearer and honestly my skin is not as dry as it used to be. It has really given me the foundation to greater looking skin. As far as the line reduction...I do believe it made my forehead lines less apparent. They weren't really bad to begin with, not deep or anything, but the GC and certain products I am using now have made them almost invisible. I will probably move up to a Level 9 sample here shortly as I am almost done with my bottle of Level 6. Hopefully my skin will tolerate it and I will continue to see more improvement. If not, I will just move back down to Level 6.......Quite simply, GC as part of my daily skin care regime is here to stay whatever level I am able to use.

I have mixed feelings about this product ( Level 6.) I admit that it is an effective product, but not the level of effect I expected after reading the reviews. I usually have pretty sensitive skin, but I never had the first problem using this - no redness, no flaking, zilch. Even using it every night. I also did not have amazing results. I have always taken care of my skin - religiously sunblocked, totally tanless, good moisturizer - and I really don't have horribly aged skin. Just some mild discolorations and small lines and large pores. And while I did see results such as very minor smoothing of the lines and possibly a small improvement in the overall texture, but not a smidgen of difference in the pores, I certainly did not see the results I expected, especially given the $50 I paid for it. I actually saw better results with AHA 12% and probably should have continued with that. But you know, the grass is greener and the reviews were amazing. So all in all, I can't give this a poor rating as it does do what it claims, just not as well for me as for others apparently. Maybe I should have gone straight for the Level 9, which I still consider from time to time but hate to invest so much and again get only minor results. I'll probably just go back to AHA 12% until the next miracle product hits the reviews and the emerald lawn over yonder calls again.

After 7 years bad luck with my skin, I finally decided to give retinol products a try. I have combo skin, and my forehead is my problem area. I guess the skin there is just thick and sundamaged, and doesn't exfoliate well anymore. AHA's were marginally helpful, but didn't eliminate the clogged pores that constantly plagued me. BHA (Paula's choice 2% liquid) did virtually nothing that I could see. Level 6 Green Cream is the first product I've ever used that made a substantial difference for my type of acne, which is mostly non-inflamed and comedogenic. In the 4-5 weeks I've been using it, I've been able to work up to twice daily applications in my t-zone. I had some peeling/very slight purging at first, but that seems to have passed. My skin still isn't perfect. I have some tiny clogged pores, and some red marks that are lingering, but the results are dramatic nonetheless. My forehead is much smoother, and more even toned. With just a few dabs of concealer I can go out and feel confident instead of embarassed about my appearance. It's been very worth it for me, but I don't like the price. I looked into getting an RX for Retin-A, since I thought my insurance would cover it, but it won't! Jerks. Apparantly, I am considered too old. They think that at 31, I must have wrinkles, not acne. Wrong! I have only the finest of fine lines, and I don't even care about those. Well, I could try to appeal and get a note from the derm, blah blah, but after reading about online pharmacies like medsmex.com and alldaychemist, I decided to go that route. You can buy a number of tubes of prescription strength tretinoin for the same price as an ounce of Green Cream. Still, if you can't use Retin-A for some reason, Green Cream is a very recommendable product, and I think that with continued use, my skin would improve more and more. But at $40-50/ ounce that lasts 3-4 weeks, Retin A is longer lasting and therefore a better value.

I have suffered from acne and uneven skin tone for more than 20 years. I'm a DDD and every small pimple or provoked blackhead resulted in a horrible, ugly scar.
I tried Retin-A which would would work beautifully for a month or two and then just destroy my skin because it was far too harsh (I was using Retin A cream, .05%).
I tried Green Cream after someone at acne.org recommended it. I was so frustrated from spending gobs on money on skincare that I literally prayed over this product. I was like "OK, God. I'm broke and my skin is still bad. Please let this work." And it did.
Here's how I used it initially:
Morning:
Wash with Neutrogena Daily Blackhead scrub
Treat with Neutrogena Acne Stress Response (It's a lovely, lovely salicylic acid product.)
Light moisturizer (Usually MAC's oil-control lotion)
Night:
Wash with Purpose Liquid
Treat with Green Cream Level 6 or Stress Response (Alternate days.)
I'm now up to using the Green Cream each evening daily and let me tell you. I am HOT! Using less makeup. Fewer blackheads and more even-toned skin. Spend the $50 bucks. It's worth it.

(For the Mother of All GreenCream reviews, scroll down to Walljoy's - she says it all! Preach it, Walljoy!)
Me: Normal skin with sun damage. Prone to breakouts.
I started with Level 3 and am using Skinceuticals AOX 10 serum with it, alternating am/pm. What great results in less than a week. I did go thru a "purge" stage with some large pimples, but with continued use of GC + BHA they quickly left.
I can't wait to see how smooth, clear, poreless and even-toned my skin is after 4 weeks. No flaking or excess dryness, only one day of slight redness. I do use a good sunscreen with it, since retinols make the skin more susceptible to sun damage AT FIRST. Devita SPF30 is excellent and non-chemical, so it doesn't burn.
Will def repurchase at a higher level after my 3 is done. Much better tolerated than Retin-A or Renova for me. (Due to the vehicle the retinol is suspended in, it is better tolerated and easier to spread than Retin-A.)
For the record, it has been shown conclusively that retinoids thicken the epidermis, which is what we want for younger-looking and -acting skin. It's the stratum corneum that we want to keep smooth and hydrated, the "horny" outer layer.
Do log on to the GreenCream forum - www.greencream.com- for instructions & support before using this excellent product, so that you get the most out of it.
ETA: You can check how much is left in the opaque bottle by removing the bottom cover of the bottle with a forceps or needle nose pliers.

I first reviewed level 6 in 2004 and discontinued use because although I saw a lot of improvement I could never seem to get past the flaky purge stage. I tried Afirm and Avene and didn't really like either of them as much, so discontinued retinols altogether for a couple of years.
A few months ago I discovered level 3. I was able to use it every night from pretty early on. I gradually transitioned to level 6 every other day. Had a little flakiness and purging after the first week or two but that was it. I can use level 6 every day but actually prefer the way my skin responds to alternating levels 3 and 6.
My only caution is with retinols you must be very careful with sun exposure, especially if you are fair and prone to sunburn.

Green Cream is a dream! It has finally faded the pigmentation from BC pills that have plagued me since I turned 30! I started out with #3 almost two years ago. I used it every other night to start out. I did have some flakies and a little purging. I have very dry skin and a sensitive chin area. To me that just meant it was doing something! My dark spots began to fade and my skin felt and looked moisturized and *glowy*. I became a religious sunblock user during this time because any bit of sun makes the spots darker. I moved up to level 6 with just a little bit of flaking and dryness and started using every night, once my skin adjusted. I am nearly out of my level6 and am thinking of moving up to level 9. I read on green cream's community board that people have had even better results either using level 6 twice a day or level nine once.
I put on a peasize drop at night right after I cleanse with Bert's orange essence or Skin apetit. Both of these and green Cream have made my "so dry it hurts skin" comfortable again! I had tried going to the derm and getting Renova before this, but I didn't see any results after a couple of months. I saw results within 2 wks with green cream. I am amazed how Green cream works on wrinkles and dry skin and clearing out pores and pimples!! The price is 37-50$ I bought mine on cosmeticville.com and it shipped in 3 days.
Anyone that is discouraged about brown spots should give this a try. I am so glad I did! Thanks makeup alley!

I've used this product for about two years now, Level 6. I just don't see much difference in my skin. It didn't fade any marks or help with frown lines. It is good as a spot treatment for acne, though. Other than that, I can't justify another repurchase. I might give up retinols altogether but I'll try Skinceuticals for good measure.

This is a very good product. I've used it for over a year, in varying levels, and I've given it to my mother and to close friends. Note: it does NOT work nearly as well as prescription-strength retinoids, but for what it is, it's quite nice.
First of all, the basics: I'm 35, and I'm very frequently mistaken for far younger. I'm not sure if it's my skin or just general youthful features (heck, maybe it's the baby fat), but that's a nice feeling. I have extremely acne-prone skin, exacerbated by monthly hormones, and I'm also interested in preventing signs of aging. Treating acne and preventing aging are often cross-purposes, and so retinoids have been a great discovery for me. However, finding the right retinoid was a challege. I wanted to love RoC's products, for instance, but they break me out. Other products that didn't cause breakouts just didn't have enough active ingredient for my liking. Sooo, despite that I think Green Cream is quite an expensive product, I gave it a whirl. That was over a year ago.
I started with Level 3, using it at nite, and in the morning, I'd use Olay Regenerist Serum, a sunblock, a moisturizer, and my regular makeup. I'd been using Regenerist for quite some time, and that had already had visible results. Adding the Green Cream very soon gave me an even more "glowing" appearance, and while nothing much seemed to be changing with my acne, I knew I'd need to give it more time. I wanted to ramp up to a higher formulation, and by starting with Level 3, I avoided purging, and any flaking was kept to a real minimum.
After a few weeks, I started using Level 6. I was able to tolerate Level 3 around my eyes, on my neck, and on my chest, so I kept some Level 3 around for those areas. Everywhere else on my face, tho, I used Level 6, and before long, I did see a reduction in acne problems. Eruptions would heal far more quickly, my normally deep, painful cysts didn't appear as often, and as before, my skin maintained a glowing appearance I'm awfully fond of. I didn't flake much upon introducing Level 6, but I did notice that exfoliating well every few days grew more important.
After about 6 months of this, I decided to try Level 9. This, again, was an easy transition. I did flake a bit, but moisturizing well helps, as does exfoliating regularly. It's been 4 months now, and my skin looks really healthy and glowy! That is, except for my breakouts, which really have not improved. Not much seems to work for that -- topical salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, the typical remedies. I'm moving on to Retin-A (nites) and azelaic acid (mornings) for that. But I still credit Green Cream for the overall appearance of my skin, my utter lack of lines and early wrinkles, and that healthy glow that gets so many comments.
Moving from Green Cream to Retin-A was not as traumatic as what others have experienced, too. No purging, just a bit of flaking, and that's likely because I've just been moving right up the retinoid scale.
Now, WARNING. Retinoids make your skin thinner, so if acne is a problem for you, scarring is more likely, especially if you have a tendency to pick at your breakouts or otherwise harass them. ALSO, you will be far more sensitive to UV rays, so wearing a sunscreen every single day, even in the winter, is of utmost importance.

I've been using Green Cream for about two months now. I started with level 6 and have now moved up to level 9.
Update: I credit this product with readying my skin for Retin-A, but I feel for the price it was a bit much. I recently read Paula Begoun's review of the product at Cosmetics Cop and I she gives the product a very poor review because of the high alcohol content. It prevents the retinol from helping the skin.

I'm currently using level 3 and I don't think this is doing anything beneficial to me.. just making my skin super dry. I'll probably keep using it anyway until I finish it since it's kind of pricey. I don't want it to go to waste, lol.

YES, I have finally found a miracle in a bottle! I started using this every other night, and my pores have gone down in size, and my face feels firmer! It is helping with the smile lines (I have very few, but helping the indentation), and the 11's between my eyes. I had been wanting to get a higher concentrate of Renitol,(I was using Roc) and I didn't want to go to the Derm. because my skin is not bad, I just wanted added protection. For that reason I am using the level 6. My skin is very toloratable for skin products, so I had 2 zits appear, and that is it. My skin is very oily, so I haven't had any peeling yet. As for the smell, alot of people say they don't like it, but I think it smells like Margaritas! Yum! I wash my face and wait about 30 minutes before applying the GC, then I apply it. I have on certain occasions applied a moisurizer over it, just waiting 30 mins to do that. I am loving this at the moment, and I will update..........

It didn't do much for me that I could tell. Seemed a bit drying and irritating, probably the alcohol. I prefer RoC's retinol night cream.

I tried samples of level 3 and 6 and both worked well for me. I had no irritation, dryness, etc. My pores appear smaller, skin is smoother. I purchased level 9 and I think I need to use this strength every other night. If I use it every night my skin gets red and stings. The level 3 is gentle enough for me to use around my eyes though.

Ive been using this for about 2 almost 3 months. I did not buy for anti-aging properties, but to help with blackheads and skin evenness and clarity. The results have been very good after initial adjustment. Skin is very very soft and blackheads on nose have completely dissappeared. I had previously been using Avene Diacneal and like this better. However, the results have kind of plataued and I think of moving up a level to level 9. Also, if i miss a couple of days, my skin starts to revert rather quickly by losing luster and smoothness if thats possible. I will continue to use this until I find something if anything that is better.

I really had high hopes for this product. Nut, unfortunately I got increased redness and irritation with this product.
I used the both Level 6 &9 strengths (at different times of course). And, my skin became much drier and more sensitive. And, there is a noticeable ethanol smell to Green Cream. Of which, I came to feel very nervous about.

This product is simply AMAZING! I have very sensitive skin and rosacea. I use this product in combination with Mychelle products. I've had very little purging and each morning I wake to improvements in skin clarity, smoothness, pore size, and balance. I have never seen a product make such dramatic improvements. This is a miracle cream- seriously!

This is my first review. I have been using level 6 for about 1 month. I am 53 & I was starting to be really unhappy about deepening wrinkles, pores starting to get larger, & the dullness of my skin. I have been really fortunate to have really good skin until I hit my 50's. I Really love this product. My skin already looks better. My pores are visibly smaller & some have practically disappeared. The lines around my mouth & nasal labial area seem much less apparent. I started out using every other day, but my skin seems to tolerate this product well so I now use every night. My skin is flaking off but it is gradual & easily disguised with moisturizer. I have tried many other products in the past but nothing has seemed to really work like this product. I am a very satisfied customer so far.

i have been using the Level 9 every night for 11 months now. i have oily skin with visible pores and was hoping this would decrease both oil production and pore size but it did neither. it didnt really help minimize the breakouts i get now and then. in fact my skin looks exactly as it did before i began use of this product. i know this product claims to be as effective as Retin-A, but I have used Retin-A in the past and can say this product simply is not as strong.
