I really like the Aqua Mirabilis body butter so I wanted to try one without exfoliation. I got this one because it's larger than the others and I wanted to get the most for my money. I couldn't really smell it in the store and I wish now that I had been able to. It really does moisturize well but I can't get past the smell. I do not like it at all. It works well, just not for me so I gave the remainder of my bar to my friend and will try another one with a different scent.

Wow! I cant believe I just discovered this body butter! I had a bad experience with Buffy but I decided to give these another shot. This is amazing!!! I just slid it over my arms and legs as my last step in the shower and my skin was baby smooth all day long. It smells so delicious that when I sniffed it in the shower I actually said "Mmm!" I have found my miracle body moisturizer!

LOVE LOVE LOVE This product!! My skin feels so soft all day and it's so easy to just rub on b4 you get out of the shower (make sure you wet the bar a little first) then I just pat myself dry.

Wonderful moisturizer! This is perfect to use right after shaving and in the harsh winter months. I use this in the shower and the moisturizing effects last all day, no need to apply anything else. The price is definitely worth it! One great thing about LUSH products is they are great for sensitive skin and KoS is no exception.

My dry skin loves this! It's essentially a block of solid oil so after I get out of the shower I lightly pat my skin with a towel so that it is still damp without any droplets of water, then run the King of Skin over those areas that need some extra loving - I only need a couple of strokes because a little really does go a long way! I take a minute or two to really massage it into my skin, then throw on a robe and let it fully absorb while I have a cup of tea. After that I'm all soft and good to go; no greasiness, just soft and supple skin. I also absolutely adore the smell of this product - really soft and comforting, slightly earthy and with the most subtle hint of lavender which I find so soothing I keep King of Skin next to my bed at night. If you are looking for a heavy duty moisturizer and don't mind waiting a couple of minutes for it to work its magic you should give this a try!

I got this product this week. I love it. The Lush associate told me to use right after showering not in the shower and it worked like a charm. I have average skin and dryish legs. Now they are gorgeous and moist and even have a light sheen. I love it. I would repurchase.

Brilliant product. In addition to moisturizing, it has a cooling, soothing effect on the skin (probably due to the avocado, oatmeal, bananas, and sandalwood). I got this during pregnancy and it was the ONLY thing that soothed my itchy belly (plain oils such as coconut did not help), and it was also a brilliant moisturizer. It lasted ages - through pregnancy and beyond - with regular use. Just don't use it under running water (it will quickly disappear), or use too much at a time. It melts quickly on contact with warm, wet, showered skin so you only need to get a little on your skin, and then you can smooth it over a larger area of your body. You can rinse off quickly and then towel dry, or skip the rinsing if you prefer. I like the newer crown shaped design, which is easier to grab onto and lasts longer than the square shape, because less product glides over your skin at a time and it's less fragile once worn thin. I think it smells fantastic - very lightly and pleasantly scented, almost edible. As with all LUSH products you should sniff before you buy if possible, they have a unique and interesting range of scents and ingredients, and some people are sensitive or averse to scents that others consider amazing.

King of Skin is drastically underrated. This product is fantastic - easy to use and works wonderfully! I have no idea how people are using it up in 1-3 uses, as this bar lasts such a long time. They've reformulated it so it is a smaller size, so in my most recent Lush order they sent two instead of one! I'm still not done with the first one.
To use: I get in the shower and use Rockstar or Rub Rub Rub, then I step to the side fo the shower and rub King of Skin all over while my skin is still warm. It melts only on my body, and leaves behind a great moisturizing film. Then, I put King of Skin away, get back in the shower and rub it in, and rinse off lightly. I get out, pat dry with my towel, and my skin is so soft! Not greasy at all, just nice and moisturized. I love this product!

Normally for after-shower moisturiser I just use organic coconut oil but thought I'd give this a shot as I liked the banana scent. Have to say I'm disappointed, it sits on top of the skin remaining greasy (compared to the coconut oil which sinks in beautifully). I've used it maybe 3 times all over my body and not much left of the bar, so it's quite exxy for the usage you get out of it. It's also messy due to the packaging.

Overall it's not a bad product, I just think you could easily find a better product in this category for less $.

I miss how this product used to be, before it was very softly scented to the point of where you could not smell anything at all...now king of skin has an extremely earthy scent, that frankly I cannot stand the smell of.


The SA said that it wasn't different at all, but yeah I've had this product numerous times and it never smelled like this. Don't lie to long time customers about a product they have used for years, we will know!


The way that I normally use this is take my shower just like normal, and at the end I turn off the shower and rub this on my body, I then rub it in as best as I can, and then turn the shower back on very slightly to get the excess off and its perfect.


I keep coming back for more because I love the way that it makes my skin feel since I am so extremely dry. But I cannot get over the scent that it now has, Don't fix what is not broken lush!

Could my UPS man come any sooner so I could have more of this? Its great! Smell is fresh and earthy, which is not something I would normally buy for myself but I have grown to love it. Moisturizing benefits are out of this world. And for the people who complain that its "greasy"...what body butter or body oil have you used that hasn't been slightly greasy? Pat it dry and your good to go with soft supple skin. No more dry elbows for this lady :)

p.s.- If I could select "hell YES" on the question: Would you buy this again?... I WOULD.

I wonder if I'm reviewing the same product because mine has a very, very subtle lavender scent. It does not linger after the shower. Mine is cream colored and shaped in a crown I rub it on lightly in the shower, very last thing and pat off with a towel. I've looked for YEARS for a shower gel or lotion that I did not need to use lotion with afterward and this is the first one I've actually found. I can see where it might be too rich or greasy for some, but if you use it sparingly, your skin feels moisturized all day. I no longer use any lotion.
One thing I do not like, is that to keep it from getting yucky and slippery and melty, I cut off a small piece to keep in the shower and the rest I keep in the fridge in a ziploc. Kind of a pain in the butt, but worth it.
UPDATE: This does melt in the mail. I swapped for one and it arrived looking like someone puked in a ziploc. Fortunately, it firmed back up after being refrigerated and I packed it into 2 small, usable balls and it works just as well.

I love this! I might throw out all my lotions and just use this from now on. King of skin is extremely moisterizing but it does kinf of leave you a little oily so If you don't like that don't use this. I have EXTREMELY dry skin so I love feelin moisterized. I hated the smell of this body butter in the store but the SA tried in on my skin and I had to have it. Now after using it at home the smell isn't to bad. Its almost not even noticable. The only thing I don't like is there is no packageing because you can't leave it in the shower or it will melt. But they do have tins you can buy for like $3 to solve this. Will repurchase

This is a beautiul skin conditioner, you rub it on after showering, rinse off and pat skin dry (just like a regular conditioner lol) and it works as a fantastic body softener. Because your skin is wet when you put it on and it's so emollient, it traps the moisture in your skin leaving it incedibly soft and smooth. The first time I tried this I rubbed it directly on my body and found it way too greasy so now I rub a bit on my hands and then smooth it on my body and I have fabulously moisturised skin for literally 24 hours! It lasts a while, and I love the new bigger round crown shape. Smells slightly sweet with a vanilla chocolate undertone (I'm guessing is the cocoa butter). FANTASTIC for winters when I just want to put my clothes on straight after showering cuz its too cold to stand naked while lovingly applying lotion lol. Fab prooduct and I have repurchased 3 x so far and will continue to do so, staple!

Very moisturizing. You will have some super soft skin. I thought it was almost too oily feeling...even after rinsing it off.

The old KOS that was crown shaped had a much better fragrance to it.

I dislike the smell of it intensely. It also doesn’t moisturize the skin, it only leaves an oily layer that doesn’t want to soak in.

This is the best body butter i have ever tried! Don't use it in the shower!! I use it directly when i step out of the shower and only pat my skin lightly with a towel before i use this. The only negativ part is that it takes a while to sink in but when it has you will be left with devine soft skin!

Makes your skin super soft - I'm a repeat buyer and will probably buy again. My only compaint is the price. But I find I can get away with using this just once a week or so and using run-of-the-mill moisturizer on the other days and get the same effect as using a very pricey moisturizer.

I love this product. After reading some of the reviews I'd like to take the time and tell people: DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT IN THE SHOWER! Use it after the shower. When you're dry. Shea and cocobutter naturally melt at body temperature. Just rub the bar on your skin and it leaves behind incredible moisture. I'm addicted!

I'm a new Lushie and I just love their products. I recently bought King of Skin and it was a bit of a letdown when I used it. First I cut the bar into four squares so that I only take a bit at a time when I go in the shower. Right before I stepped out of the shower I used it only on my legs and half of the square was already gone! It melts VERY fast. The second time I used it I waited after I showered then applied it without rinsing it off. It left my skin slightly greasy but it absorbed in my skin in about 30 min. My legs were soooo soft. The smell also fades away which is nice because I'm not that crazy about it. This bar definitely lasts longer when you don't use it in the shower. However, I think it is too expensive considering how fast it gets used up. It is a great product but I would not buy this again because of the cost.
