I have never had a product make my face so terribly oily. And it happens very quickly, within an hour or less. It actually makes my face produce oil. Its amazing, quite frankly. I'm throwing it away! My label states that it is "Oil-Free Sunblock Sheer Tint, 15 SPF". As far as the tint goes, it was beyond sheer (I saw no noticeable tint).

I liked the feel/smell of this product going on, but it did make my face extremely greasy looking - a lady at my work actually asked me why I put oil all over my face! My face tends to be a bit on the shiny side anyways, but it was about 3 X's worse with this product. I don't think this is a good sunscreen for people who already tend to have oilier skin, but I still give it 3 lippies because I it does smell good & would probably be good for drier/non-shiny skin.

I've tried many, many sunscreens. This is a good one. I have oily skin and this keeps it matte all day long. The tint doesn't do anything for my skin tone, but I never expected it to. Like all Murad products, if it goes on your face, it's got lots and lots of goodies in it that are going to improve your skin. This one is no exception. The best news with this sunscreen is that it doesn't smell like icky sunscreen. Smells naturally good and is a joy to wear.

This tinted SPF 15 moisturizer although oil-free gave me so much of oily shine during the day that it was just a disaster. Will never buy again.

I love this product. Considering I have oily/sensitive/acne-prone skin, I have to be VERY VERY selective about the things I put on my face. This is the next best thing to foundation. Since I still have acne-prone skin, I have to stay away from foundation; even though this Murad product doesnt give me the same coverage as foundation, it is very good. This also does not cause breakouts for my skin. A bit pricey.

Lovvve this. Like many women I have tried DDF, Shiseido, Neutrogena, Coppertone - anything out there any woman with combo/oily skin has ever raved about. Some broke me out, others left me an oily mess. This one actually works. I'm not too greasy (although I think this is due to other products I use). Most importantly I haven't broken out from it. I do wish it had a higher SPF for summer, but it'll do. P.S. : I am an African American woman in the middle of the skin color range. This leaves a greyish cast going on, BUT it disappears into the skin. (I even tried it on one half of my face one rainy day to make sure this was true; both sides looked the same.) Hope this helps someone.
edited 2/07: OK, I have to fess up and say this made my skin look a bit grey after I used it for awhile. I also discovered that my skin tends to break out when I use physical sunblocks and this did, indeed, break me out after long term use. I ultimately returned it to Sephora.

I really really LOVE this sunblock. One of the best I've tried. It's not heavy, greasy, shiny or chalky. It goes on a silky matte and transparent. I think the tint helps the sunblock disappear into the skin without leaving a chalky white residue so it doesn't provide much coverage but it feels great on my skin. It's a make-up staple!

This is much better than my Dermalogica Ultra-Sensitive Face Block spf25. It's less greasy yet moisturizing. And it doesn't clog my pores or cause allergy. I use this beneath my powder and it helps to even out my skintone and provide a smooth canvass for the powder to glide on. This is also the first MURAD product I've used. I've yet to test it in water when I go swimming. Will update again.

No breakouts, no irritation and no chalky-white look!! I must agree with most reviews here--I really like the texture, smell, and feel of this well-packaged product. The tint is perfect because it's more sheer than a foundation or many "tinted moisturizers", but tinted enough that it doesn't leave my light skin looking chalky-white. Most importantly, it doesn't seem to over-dry my skin like some sunscreens and yet it doesn't break my acne-prone/combination skin out either. It leaves a dewy look to my skin that actually I prefer(now that I'm 30 instead of 20). Even the areas of slight shine can be toned done easily with translucent powder or a blotting tissue. I perhaps wish it had an even higher SPF factor or was a little cheaper, but it lasts a long time and it's worth it compared to all the other tinted suncreens I've tried so far.

In the past, I occasionally broke out with facial blemishes from my sun block, so this summer season, I decided to try a new facial sun screen. I have been using Murad Oil Free Sun Block for three months and I have had wonderful results. This product is perfect for my face. It moisturizes while shielding the harmful rays from the sun and doesn't cause breakouts or inflamed skin!

I was using Shiseido Extra Smooth SPF 33. I was happy with it. However, I felt a little bit dry sometimes (I have a combination acne-proned skin)and it gave a bit powdery look on me some days (maybe because of the talc). Anyway, last week I went to Ulta store to browse. I'm using Murad Perfecting Serum right now, and very happy about it. So I told myself why not to test Murad sunblock products. I asked the SA to give me a sample of this oil-free sunblock, and I'm glad I did ask. This tinted sunblock gave my skin a soft matte, smooth, dewy look. I think the color is not much, just enough to even out the blotchy skin. It was packed with very good antioxidants, and water binding agent (which Shiseido's cannot compare). After a week try out, no break-out so far. And the price is $20.00/1.7 oz. (I think it is 2 oz. in the past). However, at www.beautyprescriptions.com, where I purchased my Murad Perfecting Serum, it's only $15.00 + free shipping in US. This on-line vendor shipped their products very fast as another viewer had mentioned. UPDATE: do not like the color (pink on my yellow skin)on my face.

I went to Sephora pick up a few samples, & did a little test - apply Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 55 to half of my face, and put Murad Oil-Free Sunblock Sheer Tint SPF 15 to other half. After 4 hours, blot w/ Clean&Clear Oil Absorbing Sheet and check the result.
Both are very good sunscreen but Shiseido side is slightly less oily. I am going to try this for a few days to make sure nothing cause pimples~~~ :-)

I think that this is a great sunblock.
Its oil free and refreshing.
Its tinted but not heavy at all.
Has a nice scent to it.
Brightens up the skin a little.
And at $20 it is one of my favorite sunblocks.

Great sunscreen for oily skin, the tinted formula is great for people who don't wear foundation, but still want a little bit of coverage. This goes on smooth and blends easily over moisturizer. Does not make my sometimes sensitive skin break out.

I bought this for weekends and when I'm not wearing foundation but so far I think it's a keeper. My skin's been reacting badly to chemical sunscreens (even my Neutrogena Ultra-Sheer stings) so the titanium dioxide in this caught my eye. The tint is pinker than my GA MSF #4 and Remede's UV Face Coat in Medium, but it has the same tone, so it blends very well. It goes on a little heavy and is not moisturizing - a good thing for combo skins, but it also hasn't added any shine to my skin and does not sting. The fragrance is a bit much, but what are you gonna do ...

This is my staple daytime tinted moisturizer. I’m always trying new moisturizers, but always come back to this one. I have combination acne-prone skin, and I’m pretty pale, and this lightly tinted moisturizer gives me the right amount of moisture & color. Plus it’s packed w/anti-oxidants, has UVB & UVA protection & it’s not too expensive ($20 for 2 oz). I don’t use foundation, so this is perfect to even out my skin tone & protect it from the sun. What I like about the tint is that it's subtle & blends in – it doesn’t sit on your skin like foundation or some other tinted moisturizers I’ve tried. It does give me a slight sheen in my T-zone, but with a little powder or blotting paper, that goes away quickly. I wish they made this w/SPF 30!
UPDATE: I have now been using this for over a year & still loving it!

I think they used to call this the environmental shield with spf 15. I love the gold tube which is easy to use and looks classy in your sport bag. The cream, though heavy is very light going on with a pleasant, subtle hint of oranges. I used this religiously on my Hawaii vacation and it didn't budge even after a day in the water! This wonderful product is a staple in my beauty bag.

Although this sunblock is tinted too light for most African-Americans, it is a very good sunblock and mixes well with other products. I personally mix it with MD Formulations tinted sunscreen (in Dark, which is too dark for me) and get a better color match that way. I like to wear only those 2 items on my face most days and I never have problems with breakouts or clogged pores.

This is my holy grail sunscreen!! It does not contain moisturizers, so it's great for my oily skin. Comes in an upside-down bottle, and if you have read some of my other reviews, you will know it is my favorite! It was $20 for a 2 oz bottle, but lasts forever! I had some sample packets that I travel with that are .125 oz, and I get three uses out of that! It is the color of a darker foundation, but don't let that scare you because it blends away. This is a year-round must have!
