I just got this in a swap and I'm in love! Give me woody scents and I'm there! I could see where this would be thought of as a bit masculine, but that doesn't deter me and if hubby wants to borrow it, he's welcome to it. He fell in love with my Arabie. Different and unusual come to mind for Scent. No frills or foo foo girly stuff with this baby! :)

Very amber-y and warm. I don't find this too masculine, though men could easily wear this one. This is a sexy scent, and definitely one that I don't see myself parting with.

One of the men in my office wears this, and I swear that I follow him around just to smell his costume national. So I ordered some for my husband, just so that I can experience this for myself, and I can't WAIT to borrow it ;).

Costume National is definitely one of my top three scents. I feel instantly better any time I spray it. I disagree with other reviewers who say this is too masculine. There is amber and rich woody notes, and you can't really distinguish any of the florals, but they are there and make this fragrance feminine, though it still is, as the description states, subtly androgynous. Smells a little like sex, but not nearly so overwhelming as Alexander McQueen's Kingdom. Overall, this scent is deep and comforting and vibrant. And it lasts. I've been known to work 15 hour days at my newspaper, and this is still there at the end of it. I wish I could bath in this stuff. It has started my love affair with amber scents.

I love this scent. I see that it got some bad reviews, but I love it. It is a little heavy for the summer, but for the cold winter months it is perfect. It reminds me of Opium, Fendi, or Poisin. I really love it.

Went to Liberty yesterday and saw costume national's summer scent and it looked so pretty in a pink box that I tried a sample - it is so feminine, rose mainly with orchids and some spices - wearing it this morning and I love it!

Hmmm.. This could have potential, except there is something missing in this perfume : feminity. it is very masculine. If it had some florals in it, it would be great.

Oh my! I rarely have had such a bad experience with any fragrance, but this was one of those times. I am at a conference and decide to head down to Sephora on the lunch break. So I scan the shelves looking for something I am interested in and decide that Scent will be my first spritz. The bottle smells good, so I pick a spot on my arm and spray. Within minutes I smell rank. Seriously, I smell like a man who doesn't wear deodorant and hasn't changed his shirt in a week! I put on my jacket and head back to the conference where I try desperately to scrub it off, but to no avail because the lasting power is fantastic! Anyway, I spent the rest of the afternoon with my jacket on, completely embarassed by my seemingly apparent disregard for basic hygiene. :o(

This will be short and, well, not so sweet. When I first tried this many months ago, I really liked it. At least before the drydown hit me. This started out as a nice, deep spicey hint of floral type scent. A lot of character and very different. By the end of the day it had morphed into NYC in the spring. In case anyone thinks I mean pretty flowers and girlish wonder let me explain by saying: spring in N.Y. is a glorious time when all the horrible garbage and urine smells start to thaw after being thankfully frozen all winter. Think of that mixed with burning peanuts and steaming hotdogs from dubious street vendors and there you have Costume Nationale scent. Yum!

This one isn't so bad on top--sort of spicy, hint of lilies, very autumnal--but the drydown! Oh. My. Goodness. Well, I wouldn't call the drydown the worst scent of all time, not while there's a single bottle of Charlie left in a single U.S. shop. But let me tell you, as far I'm concerned it's close. The worst kind of musky, sweaty patchouli, with some street-stand incense thrown in for good measure. No, no, no, a thousand times no.

Have to be honest, a wonderful friend on MUA sent me a decant of this, so I can't comment on the packaging! She sent me the "Intense" to try, and although I wasn't sure about it at first, the dry-down is sooo nice. This does remind me very much of CD's Dune fragrance, though.

I think this fragrance wants to be Passage d'Enfer when it grows up.

This is such an interesting scent. I have Scent and Scent Intense (Perfume Oil Roll On) and enjoy them individually or layered. Intense is a bit more amber and woodsy and Scent a bit more floral. They compliment one another nicely. I love the incense accord and of course the amber and wood in the dry down. The Scents are not overly masculine or feminine and appeal to my non-girly tastes in fragrance. I get compliments each time I wear either of them and I'd buy again.

"Intense" smells to me like leather (masculine) and lilies (feminine)!

I am undecided on this fragrance. I bought samples of Scent and Scent Intense from Parfumflacons.com and I think it kind of smells like men's cologne. I like the drydown but haven't gotten compliments on this yet. I'll post again if thing change.

This is unlike anything I own; it's a distinctive rose/amber/blackberry? scent that despite having been around a while isn't common at all. Very sexy, gets compliments all the time. I love it.

Created by Ennio Capasa, Scent, the first perfume debuted by fashion house Costume National
is a an appropriate reflection of their sense and sensibility.
Androgynous, powerful. Elegant and delicate. Its a study in contrasts. Amber, woods, fresh floralsNot something I would normally go for at a shop. A bit masculine, intense without being heady. Spicy. Musk. Vanilla. Incense. Dry down is lovely...just not feminine. I'll continue exploring this one and shall update my review as a work in progress.

Wow what a perfume. This has become one of my favorite scents it is both rich and fresh, unlike some spice/incence based scents which want to cut your arm off.
