I do a LOT of shaving...pretty much any significant body hair below my neck gets shaved. So I decided that something that claims to decrease the amount I have to shave was worth a try.

I have been using this product less than a month...and I already notice a big difference in how quickly stubble reappears after shaving. It is AMAZING! I used to shave my arms every other day...and now I can go almost 4 days before I notice regrowth! There is also a huge difference in my bikini line. I still shave my legs everyday...but the stubble is much finer, and is easier to keep up with.

I will NEVER use any shave gel but this one again! I love it!

This is the BEST shaving gel I have ever used. I have no idea why it took me so long to try this. I am getting ready to go on my honeymoon and have been complaining to my friend about the terrible razor bumps I get on my bikini line and underarm area. She kept telling me to try the "Aveeno shaving gel" and I finally got some this past week at Target.
It is amazing - smoothest shave I have ever had on my legs, less irritation, and it smells fabulous. I can't speak to the shave minimizing claims of this product yet, but that would be a nice bonus!
Very highly recommended!

This product is indeed back in stock at Target. I think it's a nice, basic foaming shave gel with a lovely almond scent. It doesn't reduce how often I shave. My one giant qualm with Aveeno's shave gels is the packaging. Four out of four times, the pump spews out WAY too much product, and I have a difficult time controlling how much comes out. Previously, I've also had nothing but air come out. I might repurchase if I need a shave gel and can't make it out to Whole Foods because I prefer their lineup of shave products, but overall this is a good basic product that always seems to come in faulty packaging for me.

This is the best shave gel I have ever used. I didn't use it often enough to notice any differences in my hair but the foam was super creamy and moisturizing. The scent was pleasant as well. It's a big expensive but worth it since it lasted me for years.
I would buy again in theory b/c this is an awesome shave gel, if I hadn't decided to use hair conditioner as my new shaving aid.

I wonder why companies keep discontinuing their shave minimizing products. I loved the Naturally Smooth lotion by Jergens but they discontinued that...

I'm going crazy looking for this product!!! I can't find it any where!!! Too the point where I even e-mailed Aveeno asking them about this product! I used it for a few years now, and I LOVE IT!!! I'm hoping they just took it off the shelves for a second and will put it back soon because i have no idea what other shaving gel will work as good as this one did!!!! ****UPDATE**** I e-mailed Aveeno about this product and they stated it will be back end of this year. They had issues with the product consistency, but it will be back for sure!!! Hurray!!! =)

Noooooooooooo! Please tell me that this has not been discontinued! Why is it that everytime I discover a "HG" product for me, it gets discontinued!!! This product (plus the minimizing lotion) is a miracle for my legs! I have really bad eczema, and really thick coarse hair, which is hard to shave over, but this stuff soothes my legs, and really minimizes the shaving (and I've only been using it for a week!!)...

Does anybody know if it's really out of production???

I, too, adore this product, but sadly was just informed via a J&J email that it's recently been discontinued! I'd suspected as much since I haven't been able to find it in a while. I almost wonder if it has more to do with the packaging than the product. The last couple cans I've used almost seemed like there was too much pressure initially, which made the gel dispense weirdly. I'm sad, I don't know what will replace this.

BEST shave gel I have ever tried! Seriously, this stuff is amazing. I have thick, dark hair and before now, I could never get a smooth shave. I have tried numerous different shave gels and never thought I could experience truly smooth legs.

Aveeno proved me wrong! My legs were SO smooth and no irritation or itching that I usually get from shaving! Great stuff! Pretty pricey at almost $5, and the can is pretty small so I don't see it lasting long either - but I will continue to buy it for the fact that it works!

EDIT: SO upset that this has been discontinued! Go figure they would stop making something that I fell in love with! No other shaving cream will live up to this... very, very sad! =(

This stuff is amazing. Aveeno makes the best shave products. I can never use the gels from brands that have overpowering scents. It just irritated my skin and gives me a rash. Aveeno to the rescue!

I adore this shave gel. For the longest time I use Satin Care shave gel and my legs were always so rough. I discovered this Aveeno shave gel a few months ago. Best purchase ever! My legs are so smooth. The scent is delicate and not over powering. And a little bit goes a long way.

This is really great! I had been using the Skintimate stuff for years, since I was a preteen, but I had recently read in Allure that this was a great shave gel. So I decided to try it. I love the light scent, and frankly, my legs have never felt smoother. I don't think I'll being going back to Raspberry Rain anytime soon. Aveeno makes such good quality products!

This is the shaving cream that I use most often these days. I've tried Skintimate and Gillette and didn't really like either (although Skintimate was better than Gillette by far). When I use Aveeno, I never get any cuts and the cream leaves my legs really feeling smooth. I don't know if it makes me shave less often, but I really like the scent (and the fact that I haven't cut myself at all using this gel!)

For years I just used soap and water to shave. I didn't really think I needed shaving cream or gel, and that it was an unnecessary expense.


When I got married, I started paying a little more attention to my, ermm....intimate grooming and found that due to the very coarse nature of my hair, I ended up with horrid bumps and ingrown hairs. I was just a mess! A friend recommended this, and with a healthy amount of skepticism, I tried it.


Now, I never shave without out it, legs or anywhere else. It gives me a SUPER close shave and leaves your skin silky soft. I never get razor rash with this product, and I never have razor bumps in delicate areas anymore.


As for the minimizing qualities, I couldn't have said...until I ran out on vacation and used a cheap substitute. Now, I prefer to shave daily because I'm a fairly hirsute gal and get stubbly very fast. But when I use the Aveeno, it's not a huge crisis if I have to go a day or even two without shaving. With the other??? I couldn't believe how quickly my hair grew back. It was a huge testament to the quality of the Aveeno. It really does minimize hair growth.


Also, interestingly enough, I never, ever nick myself when I use the Aveeno. With soap and water or the cheap substitute, I nicked myself over and over again. Something about it just causes the razor to glide over the skin like magic.


Love this stuff. Will never use anything else. Skintimate is crap.

I loved this before I came across the Skintimate moisturizing shave gel. It was the only thing that didn't give me razor burn or make me itch after shaving.

I always used to get bumps when I shaved my under arms. Now since using this they are gone. It really has helped with nicks and razor bumps. Plus I love the smell!

I love this product! It makes shaving so much better, and yes much smoother. I really like the way this lathers up and how silky it is. I have dark, tough hair I'm dealing with and have even gotten razor burn when using other products, or say, just soap. Not good! I am also prone to "5 o'clock shadow" on my legs. This helps with that and lets me go a couple of days before shaving again. Personally, I love the smell of this along with pretty much all of Aveeno's products. While I usually like unscented things, I find this to be quite pleasant. Many repurchases already.

the only con to this product is the scent, but it's not even that bad ! i love this ! it glides on and allows for a really close shave. makes your skin feel smooth and hydrated and no redness which i usually get ! it was inexpensive and really works, definitely recommend this product !

This really is a great shave gel. Shaving is so much less unpleasant. It's especially nice for the bikini line. The scent is interesting, like nuts and honey, but I'm not crazy about Aveeno scents in general. The can sucks, rusts very easily and isn't exactly pretty to look at. I will probably repurchase every once in a while, but may not end up getting it every time. I like my old trusty Skintimate Dry or Sensitive almost as much, and it's so much cheaper.

Great natural skin shave gel. A little goes a long way. The smell isn't grossly fruity like most and the product washes off easily. Conditions skin decently for a shave gel. Only problem is that the metal around the can rusts easily- so keep it dry. Good product, but I don't need it.

I am a huge fan of Aveeno products and this is one that I have been using for years. I love the texture of it, the smell of it, I love how smooth and non-irritated it leaves my skin. I will continue to use this for as long as they make it. My HG shave gel.
