Hahaha. Dirt cheap. that made me laugh. This was my first non floral, non fruity scent and I still love it! It's clean (ironically) and uncomplicated, which can be great at times. For a spray, the scent lingers for quite a while. Love it in general.

One of my favorite Demeter PMU Sprays! Its supposed to smell like Pennsylvania Dirt, and if you really sniff long and hard, you will realize it! It doesnt smell bad at all, its very pleasant, and it lasts a long time! Smelling it reminds me of road trips with the windows down when you can smell the fields really strongly! I absolutely LOVE this, and will be buying more as soon as Im finished with this one!

I knew when buying something called "dirt" it could be weird. What I really wanted or expected was the smell of that rich black dirt that you have to dig for and it just smells earthy and natural. To me this is not what it smells like. Instead smells like dry dusty dirt that got mixed with some stale water lying around for a couple a weeks. Maybe it just for certain people, but i suggest unless you want to smell like you need to take shower or you been in dust storm, stay clear from this.

I must admit, I wasn't really in the market to smell like dirt. But I was curious, and I spritzed it on - and hey! That's not dirt. It's a freshly mowed lawn, or a gardener's scent after an afternoon outside in early springtime. It's not a scent I would wear, but I'd prefer this over fruity and sparkly any day.

I'll be the first to admit I'm a country girl at heart, and I was certainly interested in this one for reasons of nostalgia. It's a beautiful moist, sweet earthy smell and I absolutely love it(and I'm lucky enough to be someone on whom this lasts for a few hours). I adore it...but it isn't for everyone.

Fun and smells like patchouli. I like keeping it my bathroom so that people see it and comment "You have a perfume called Dirt?" But other than the conversational value it's not really something I'd use or buy again.

Do not be put off by the name! Dirt is actually a very clean smelling scent that reminds me of fresh grass and earth, in a good way. It's a great delicate everyday perfume. One time I wore it on a date and the guy asked me what I was wearing. I told him "Dirt," and he said "I'd like to roll around in that!"

Dirt is one of Demeter's most incredible scents. I've gone through at least three bottles in the past five years, and just can't get enough of it. Many people have already given great descriptions of the smell; it smells like a wonderfully rich soil-- not the bagged planting soil from your local garden center (which tends to smell of compost and manure). Demeter's "Dirt" is definitely one of the more personal, self-indulgent selections, especially if you like gardening or walking in the woods. (In other words, I probably wouldn't wear it to a cocktail party.) Even if you have no fond memories of digging in the yard and "exploring" the woods near your home, this perfume will convince you that you DO, in fact, have those great memories.

First word that come to mind upon smelling this scent - weird.

Unfortunately, I am not the type who buys products to smell dirty. If I was, this would be my HG.

Yeah, this smells like wet dirt. Not what I'd like to smell like, or have my apartment smell like, or my linens, or the air in my kitchen. I suppose it's better than the smell of cat litter... No, this would only be good if I was doing some serious gardening which I never get to do anyhow. Maybe it's better mixed with other scents, as patchouli, which on its own smells rather earthy and dirty, works in many fragrances when mixed in with other notes. Lasting power is nil.

Let me start by saying that I like *most* fragrances, and am very open minded as far as most scents go. I got the set with Fresh Laundry, Grass and Dirt, and to me Dirt is an absolutely repulsive smell. I suppose after it dries down a bit it smells somewhat like dirt, but I get a strong, offensive pepper note and something sickly sweet. I probably should be grading on how accurate it smells, but I just can't get over how disgusting this cologne is to me.

Get it off me, get it off me!!!

That said, I have to admit this is a dead-on duplication of fresh wet dirt, very pungeant (tweaked my nose) and very very realistic.

THAT said, I have to add that I can't imagine wanting to spray this on my skin. Or in my house. I might spritz it in the garden to make my dirt smell fresher, but aside from the obvious novelty factor, I don't think this was such a great idea for a cologne. But that's just me, I have this thing about not smelling like I rolled in a vat of potting soil. I let a male friend sniff it and he loved it, so it's been successfully re-homed with someone who can fully appreciate it.

Definitely smells dirty. Go outside after a rain storm and pick up a fresh looking spot of dirt (from grass not from the road!) smell it after you crush it in your fingers. That's the scent.... not dirty like stinky but not for me either.... some love it.... has a minerally (like dirt!) note.

I love this fragrance.Yes, it smells like dirt.I love earthy, dirty smells. For years I wore patchouli.
I admit that smelling like dirt can be overwhelming in certain social situations.Alot of people mix it with Grass.
Personally, I like to use it as a linen spray because I feel like when my head hits the pillow that I am on camping trip which brings back sweet memories. And memories are what fragrance should be about.

Smells like a fresh bag of potting soil to me. It was strangely appealing to me while I was pregnant!?! I love to layer it with Grass for a more floral feminine smell. Oh and give your man a squirt of this when he's not looking and you'll have your nose buried in him all day. Seems to really mix well with male chemistry. It smells totally different on him than me. Both are good!

The references to "Dirt" smelling like freshly husked corn are very accurate. I found that strong smell to dissipate quickly though to leave a faint note of dirt (no one would want a strong smell like this on them)! A nice masculine fragrance. Seems to fade fairly quickly.

Well, why someone would be seeking to smell like dirt is a bit puzzling to me.
But if thats your aim...
Demeter's got it down..smells like dirt.
I wonder of one mixed Dirt and "bread" if it would be the frangrance equivilant of a dirt sammich?

I love dirt. It's very fresh smelling to me. My boy & I both wear it. My only complaint is that it doesn't last very long, but that seems to be a typical Demeter syndrome.

I think this really smells like dirt, but there's a time and a place to smell like dirt. I like smelling dirt, but not smelling like dirt. To each her own.
