OMG, I can't believe I just got the custom blend done. I was so tired of wasting $$ on trying to match my foundation. My husband had been telling me lately that i've been wearing too much foundation even when I dont wear much because the color i was choosing didn't really match me so my face looked weird. But with custom blend it looks like my own skin but 100% better.

The MA was so nice and kept trying to get the exact match for me. She even wasted couple of batches of foundation mixer just to get me the exact match. She walked outside in the daylight with me to check it herself the color. It's really expensive but she gave me a large bottle and travel size bottle plus whatever was left while making the batch. I think this should last me couple of years or so even if i wear it daily.

MA made full coverage for me but it feels so light and doesn't look cakey at all. I got moisturizer and brightening added to my foundation. I dont have oily skin, so didn't need oil control.

I'm thinking of getting the concealer custom blended too.

Must Try.

EDIT: Soooo disappointed in this. It looks great for about two hours and then oxidises on me so bad that it looks like i had mudd on my face. I had to return it but I compared this with Sally Hansen Inspired by Carmindy in Sandy Beige and the color is exactly the same and SH doesn't oxidise on me plus it's only $12, yipee.

Perfect colour match, and it looks fab for 30 minutes or so. In few hours it looks more like a dirt on my face - very disapointing. such a waste and so pitty as the idea of custom blend is fab... After spending so much 70 euro on this - I don't think I would be rushing into buying anything from this brand..

I have been using Px foundation, concealer and powder for a long time! I stray every now and again but always come back. My skin can be sensitive and my t-zone is oily and Px never makes me break out and feels like nothing on my skin. I was at the Px counter at Holt Renfrew and I told the MA I wanted something with more coverage than my HG, Virtual Skin in Real Tawny (my skin is coffee + a little cream with yellow undertones). She suggested Custom or Flawless but said some people find Flawless a bit heavy. I decided to go with Custom, mainly because there was a promo on that included the foundation (bottle is bigger than Virtual Skin bottle), travel size bottle, concealer and full size foundation and concealer brushes and a deluxe Super Line Preventor Xtreme. She suggested adding a bit of oil free moisturizer and an oil controller to the medium formula and I can always layer for more coverage. You can also add luminzers but I skipped that because I don't always want that look, plus I can always add my own. It took about 15 minutes of adjusting and trying on to get my perfect and I mean absolutely perfect match in the foundation and concealer. It completely covers my imperfections but still looks like my skin and not like makeup, no foundation line at my jaw. The concealer has a slightly creamier texture than my HG Camouflage Cream and looks great on its own for days when I want to skip foundation.
I am a sucker for promotions so I ended up getting the loose powder which comes with a travel size and a bonus pressed powder. The shade of the powder is also perfect. I also got another GWP - slim make up make up with a bunch of stuff - lash primer, mascara, eye cream and mor Super Line Preventor. I really like Super Line Preventor but never buy it because I always end up getting samples at the counter. I really like the brushes too. I wasn't sure if I would like a flat foundation brush because I adore my MAC 187 but it works really well with no streaking.
Custom Blend is expensive, the set with concealer and the brushes was $150 CDN, but if you wear foundation regularly I think its a product that's worth the investment. They keep the formula on file and I will definitely repurchase. The foundation will probably last me 8 to 10 months and the powder about a year so really its quite cost effective.
If you are thinking about Custom I would suggest going to a Px counter with experienced MA's. Look at their makeup and ask them what they use. My MA told me she uses Custom and she had dark skin and her skin looked amazing, no foundation lines, no ashiness, just soft and glowy. Be really clear about what you want in your foundation and what you don't. This is my new HG!

OMG I'm soo happy I found a foundation that matches my skin color perfecty. Although I did guide them and was honest with what I was looking for. Afterall I spent 2 weeks trying everything, Nars, Shu Uemura, Chanel, Estee Lauder, Clairins when I finally broke down and went to the Prescriptives counter. They were able to match my skin perfectly and I was even able to add a little shimmer to give that luminous look I was looking for. At $60 it's quite expensive, even Chanel wasn't that expensive, but you don't use very much. The ladies at the counter made my foundation and it had a little bit left so they gave that to me too! It's been 2 weeks or so and I'm still using the leftover they mixed up for me. Edit: I'm still using the tiny leftover the ladys made when they made my foundation. It's been a month and I wear makeup everyday, even on weekends when I'm not going anywhere.

I use all Px Face products... It's always funny to how people expect a foundation service like custom blend to be $30. For all that you receive for your money it is a very reasonable investment. Especially when you are one that has trouble finding the perfect shade, because after you waste money on several bad attempts you couldve purchased CB twice.
I love the fact that I can now get the weightlessness of a tinted moisturizer, with medium coverage. CB is truly customized to my needs. I have a mix of several different backgrounds, depending on the day I can easily colorprint from Y/O to B/R. This makes difficult for me to wear premixed formulas, because they have all turned. However my CB is perfect and it wears well all day and with extremely oily skin this is an important factor. Best I ever tried especially my darker complexion. Px for life.

I think this is a wonderful foundation for days when my skin is 'acting' good. I bought this years ago and had stopped using it for the longest time (i'm not sure why) but I recently got it out and I am pretty impressed with it. I think mine is sheer coverage with SPF and oil-free. The colour is a good match and the foundation is really light. I could feel my skin breathe. I was afraid that i may break out using it but it didn't aggravate my skin which is awesome! It imparted a nice healthy glow to my skin and nicely evened out my skintone making it look flawless, fresh and natural! Also, the bottle is huge but i have to agree that it is OUTRAGEOUSLY priced (1 lippie off). I don't think i would repurchase due to the pricetag but if it was more affordable then I would buy it in a heartbeat! Btw, it stayed put ALL DAY and it really controlled my oilies (which NO foundation has been able to do) (blotted only twice the whole day which is shocking)! EDIT: Not repurchasing because of it's hefty pricetag. The price is not justifiable. I prefer the EL Doube Wear Light as a liquid foundation.

I've been on a constant and endless search for the perfect foundation. I've tried them all including ALL the mineral powder foundations. I have sensitive skin with mild rosacea and some broken blood vessels on my cheeks. What I want is just to hide the tiny (and I mean tiny!) red spots on my cheeks, put on some blush and out the door! But, everything I've tried (including Derma Blend) only covers the spots for just a moment. Sure enough, first peek in the mirror and they're back. Enter Prescriptives Custom Blend concealer. I've passed by the counter many times and never thought that this might be my answer. Last month I went with a friend who was anxious to try the custom blend foundation. One look at her after her make-over with the product and I was hooked. It took only a few moments for the SA to get a perfect match for me. One dab of the concealer and the spots were gone. I bought both the concealer and foundation (full coverage). My dream has come true. This stuff is perfect in every way. Matches my skin tone (NC30), hides the spots and stays on ALL DAY. I've yet to try the foundation, because for every day use the concealer is all I need, but I have no doubt that it will be just as perfect. I highly recommend this product for all ages and skin tones and skin types. I've had no breakouts and my face looks flawless. Great product.

I had a great color match but the foundation formula does not work for me. i have had it done twice ,once with med coverage and once with full. The med did not cover well at all and the full was a nasty greasy mess. I did not have anything put in the full coverage formula but still had a slimy face. I love a dewy look but this is crisco galore.

They need to make a formula that has more coverage than med but way less than full. A satin matte formula would be a good place to start.

A little about me: EXTREMELY fair skin with both pink and yellow undertones, which really makes me more neutral in coloring, with pink being slighly more pronounced. Tend to get redness in the cheek and chin area. Acne-prone so my foundation HAS to be neutral to cover pimples. Pink won't cover, and yellow is WAY too pronounced on me. Need a moisturizing formula, as I have very dehydrated skin, and oil free, as I breakout easily.

I actually bought this awhile ago, then stopped using it as it didn't seem to match anymore. But I tried it the other day using a different application process...and this is the closest match I have ever gotten. The SA basically took Real Camillia (the lightest in the B/R category, which I actually used years ago), and added a white corrector to lighten it and neutralize it some. It's a pretty good match, maybe SLIGHTLY too dark. I found the best way to apply is to moisturize really well first, and immediately apply this very lightly with a foundation brush. If you put on too much it tends to get darker (at least on my skin) and look fake. It blends out my complexion pretty well, and covers the redness I tend to get in my cheeks and chin. I use only a small amount of Sonia Kashuk loose powder to set it, and it gives a really nice, dewy, fresh finish. So far has not broken me out. Can't wait to try the other custom products. If you're hard to match, definitely try this foundation. And make sure you find someone who is really willing to take the time to help you. As others have stated, that does make a huge difference in getting the perfect match. A little expensive, but you get a lot of product for what you pay...it'll last a while. Give it a try!

I love this foundation! I used to love SKII airtouch, but I was frustrated with their limited colour range (as usual). I've tried them all, and naturally they're either too pink or too yellow. I even spent 20 minutes with a SA at MAC and they have a huge colour range, but we still couldn't get a match. NC is too yellow and makes me look sick; NW is too pink and makes me look... well pink! Even those loreal paris true match foundations were no match! I finally decided to just go for it and get my foundation custom blended. I'm so glad I did - turns out I have blue undertones - BLUE?! LOL but it works! The SA was really good and really knowledgeable. She said that it's not that uncommon to have blue or even green undertones, but it's not what they usually use in pre-mixed foundations because most people have either yellow or pink or orange. If a company tried to make every colour tone in every undertone, they'd have to have hundreds of colours! I'm so happy with my foundation I practically want to sleep with it under my pillow!!! I'm planning on getting the powder and concealer too. Frankly, I think the price is worth it - to me it's more of a waste of money to buy a cheaper foundation I'm not happy with and end up not using to buy something else.

Prescriptives Custom Blend is a "good" idea with probably well "intentioned" meaning, but it's not exceptional and the price tag is extremely way over-inflated! Yes, they did a great job matching my very fair skin tone, and no irritation or sensitivity with this product use. Having said the above, I have found other great/good foundations out there that work just as well as P. Custom Blend and have a much more reasonable price tag. My sister swears by P.'s Custom Blend and that may be great for her but I don't intend to get "taken" by all the "hype" that these Prescriptive sales associates make Custom Blend out to be nor do I care to spend the extra "wasted" money on a foundation that is not "unique" or can't be found in another line that delivers the same/similar results (again, at a much more reasonable cost to consumer). I'll pass on ever wasting my hard earned income on this gimmick of a product.

UPDATE - It was my moisturizer under the foundation which caused the problem with caking. I am actually loving this foundation right now and will buy it again.

I am very angry and disappointed with this foundation. While the color was perfectly blended to match my skin tone, the consistancy of the foundation was absolutely terrible. The 1 point I have given is for color match. The foundation cakes upon application. Turns from liquid to a very dry unattractive powder. This cost me about 75 Euros one year ago and it is still sitting in the cabinet. The bottle was also not the best application apparatus for foundation. I did buy the brush along with the foundation however getting the product out of the glass bottle was painful indeed.

After seeing some ghastly party pictures of myself with the "foundation mask", I decided that if I was going to splurge on makeup, it should definitely be for foundation. I accidently came upon Prescriptives one day while wandering in Holt Renfrew. I can honestly say this is my best investment ever. The lady at the counter helped me mix the perfect colour and the perfect consistency (I wanted it a bit sheerer because I hate feeling like I'm wearing makeup). My skin has stange undertones and they matched it so well.

For $150 (CAD), I received foundation, concealer, two great brushes, a sample of lotion, and a travel size foundation. A tad expensive (and I'd rather there be a pump for the foundation), but completely worth it because I'm 100% confident in my skin.

As a note, you probably should go to a higher end department store to get this done. Its the same price, but they take their time in mixing and trying different shades.

I'm half-Asian, half caucasian, but I look Mexican. Don't ask me how that happened. Anyway, almost every foundations I've tried is a bit off. At worst, they either give me barbecue face or a pasty pale face. I was a little skeptical, but I decided to try it as a treat. The woman who mixed mine was great, and she really got the color right. She also told me that while most people are either cool or warm toned, I am a bit of a mix. I'm extremely pleased with this product, and I'm happy I can finally wear foundation without feeling like a clown.

I have never been about to find a foundation to match my skin color until I found Px. I was using their y/o Real Beige foundation, but I find that a little too tan for me now that summer is gone. The y/o Real Sand was a little too light. Both were a bit to orange/pink for my skin. I'm South Asian, so premixed foundations are ALWAYS too orange/pink for my skin tone-- I have very yellow undertones. Apparently green as well, because that's what the MA added to this foundation, and it matches perfectly! I kept running outside the store with a handheld mirror to check the foundation in sunlight as she mixed it. And when she was finished, it disappeared into my skin. I had them make it a sheer coverage, and I've never had foundation feel so light on my skin. It's very pricey, but I think it's worth it. Plus they give you more than what comes in a regular bottle of Px foundation and you get a little travel sized bottle as well.

LOVE love love my custom blended foundation and powder (I'm MAC's NC43 for complexion reference). I've tried it before and thought it was a total waste of money. BUT with the right MA...you can have the best foundation you've ever purchased. The liquid set with the powder provides excellent coverage, blends easily and doesn't have you looking greasy by noon. I feel like my skin can breathe through this foundation and honestly, I forget that I have makeup on! I got the MA to write down my formula so no matter bad MA or not, follow the formula...and you've got my color. Oh, be sure to have one scoop of the bronzer (I think it's called Candlebra)...you will not look shiny but sun kissed. I was skeptical of having a bronzer but she only put in one scoop and I LOVE IT. YAY! HG for me.

I must say, I love this foundation... made just for me! I got a super SA and she knew exactly what I needed. I am very dry so she added moisturizer, which I didn't know could be done. She added the necessary pigment to counteract the redness. This has absolutely changed the way I look with makeup. I never realized how great my skin could look... soft, smooth, poreless. My skin not only looks soft, but it feels soft as well. I also bought the custom blend powder. I'll easily repurchase both when it runs out, which won't be soon. I received a huge bottle of foundation and a small bottle to carry with me. The loose powder came in a huge jar and I was given a small jar to carry with me, as well as, a pressed compact. The $$ doesn't even matter. The results are so well worth it.

I think the key to having a good customblend foundation is a) knowing what you want from a foundation and b) having a sales assistant who is able to make a foundation that has that AND is a good colour match.

I'd prefer a pump dispenser but I just pour it out on the back of my hand - I tend to pour out too much but I could just be unco.

My customblend is fantastic. Exactly the right amount of coverage and a great colour match for me during my paler months. I didn't get anything added except for colour as I didn't want any of the additions (candlelight seems to exaggerate pores and etc).

I probably would rebuy it except that I found two other foundations I like just as much (maybe a little bit better), and I don't find the Px sales people/MUA in the area I've moved to are very good at the colour matching. So I'm back to non-custom foundations (YSL Perfect Touch & Laura Mercier TM).

I received a gift card from Macys so I decided to splurge on this foundation. The foundation is EXACTLY what I wanted and this can be customized to any shade, coverage, oil-control or moisture desired. I decided to go with a very sheer foundation with oil control, and just a hint lighter than PX ginger shade. The consultant tried it on me in natural daylight ( we were near a window), so there is nothing closer to my complexion. I don't have to worry about my foundation having a line of demarcation or looking too red, ashy, too light or dark in different lighting because it looks just like my skin. I think the real question is if its worth $68 to get exactly what you want. I love the foundation, maybe I'll purchase again if I get another gift certificate :)
