Age: 25-29 Skin: Acne-prone, Fair, Neutral Hair: Brown, Straight, Fine Eyes: Green
Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol Denat, Methyl Gluceth-10, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Betaine, Methylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Cyclodextrin, Sodium Hexametaphosphate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Potassium Carbomer, Fragrnace, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Xanthan Gum, Acaylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acaylate Crosspolymer, Arginine HCI, PCA, Magnesium Cholride, Calcium Chloride.
Yes this is really expensive ($50 for 4oz). But for some silly reason I bought it. Maybe it was the gorgeous red glass container. Maybe it was the fact this was shiseido's 1st product (although its been reformulated since the 1800s). Maybe I was just hypnotised in Sephora. But Ive shamefully spent more on worse things though. not that that's an excuse. But I have to say its the best toner/softener Ive used, especially from shiseido. I was previously using their The Skincare hydro-balancing softener, which was OK, but the Eudermine is so much nicer! And alcohol is the 3rd ingredient, but it neither smells nor feels as if it has alcohol, its strange, in a good way. When I think of alcohol in toners, I think of the wretched Clinique #2 toner that burns the zits off. This isnt like that, not in the least. For oily skins, this could be a moisturizer. And the review here puts it in the category of moisturizer. But I use it as a toner before my moisturizer. You could probably use this without a cotton pad and pat it on your face, but I use it with cotton pads. And you only need a very small amount, since its very rich. My face feel wonderful afterwards - refreshed, moisturized, free of irritation or redness. If my budget allows, I'll repurchase, but in the meantime I'll savor each drop that comes out of the crimson glass jar with the stopper lid (which is painful, if not impossible to travel with). EDIT: Also wanted to add that used with the shiseido cotton pads, you only need 2 or 3 drops of this stuff to do your face - thats how rich it is. My first time using it, I saturated the cotton, thinking I needed to, but then realized I wasted so much doing that, and this is certainly something I do not want to waste! Im in LOVE! ;)

This product is fabulous. It is great for people with dry skin. Shiseido has softners instead of toners, which prepares your skin for the moisturizer. This is like that but with way more moisturizing properties. It goes on so smooth and refreshing and afterwards your skin feels so soft. During the winter this is my absolute must have, I don't need to buy a richer cream.

I love the red bottle. The larger size has the screw cap.
I think this is one of the best shiseido secrets. I have combo skin, and this balances the hydration. I'm less oily. IMMEDIATE softness with first time use. LOVE LOVE LOVE this. I use the 100% cotton with this, and my face loves me for it.
UPDATE 11/17/07: I'm editing this to a 4 lippie. I would purchase again possibly, but I'd check into the hydro lotion first. Much preferred that!!

I'm 29 with dehydrated, acne-prone, sensitive skin. This 'lotion' does soften my skin and i like the scent of wild peony. However, not as impressive as i thought it is because it does dry my skin out as the 3rd/4th ingredient is alcohol. Will not repurchase.

Luxurious. Pure luxury. It feels really good on the skin, really did make my skin feel soft and hydrated. My mother has oily dehydrated skin and brought this to London with her during winter and it soothed her skin greatly. I have normal-combo skin and this still feels fantastic. Get it!

OOOOOOOOH I LOVE THIS! Why do I always like expensive stuff? Anyway, this is a great toner, way better than the other Shiseido toners (which are already great), somehow it has a luxury feel (is it the price which makes me think this or the heavenly smell?) The only downside is the bottle: I travel a lot, and it is quite impossible to take this with you. But I always ask samples of this, which I use when I am on the road. Will rebuy for sure!

I love this product. I use it as a Toner. I love the smell. I love the way it makes my skin feel and look. Soft and dewey. The bottle is gorgeous too.
This will be a staple for me for a long time. I highly recomend it to anyone with dry aging skin.

My main comment on this product is on the very slick packaging, i.e. pretty color and glass bottle shape. At the end of the day, does the pretty color and bottle shape have any relevance to what the product inside can actaully do? The short answer to that is no!
Therefore, upon actually reviewing the ingredients and evaluating the product inside (which is difficult due to my distraction by the pretty Ruby colors) it has similar ingredients and is comparable to that found in an above average toning product (for about 30 bucks cheaper).
It is my sincere hope that Shiseido will change the bottle neck so that I can at least put flowers in it when the bottle is finished!

While at Fred Seigel last summer I was told this is a MUST have for shiseido fans. I used it for over a year and although I did not see amazing results did notice my skin was softer and revived. I stopped using and have recently started again. It is a nice simple tonor with a pleasant scent. I have dryish skin and this does not dry it out but soothes it and makes a nice base to add a moisterizer. Would buy again but not if money is tight...not a must have item. I like the bottle actually although it is impossible to travel with.

I totally agree with other ladies on the point that the package is terrible. Seriously, it is not practical at all. I am very careful when I am handling the bottle.
Give you some background information first: in my early 20s, Chinese, sensitive normal to dry yet very delicate thin skin (you can see the veins easily), no acnes but dark eye rings, have come accross most luxury brands already.
I purchased this as the UV White Softner is too dry for me but the Revital delivers too good tightening effect. I told the SA I need a softner which is gentle, mild, non-drying, no anti-ageing effect and effective and I as recommended this product.
Eudermine performs exactly what a good softner does, but I must give you a warning that it contains alcohol. I remember the second component, also the third are alcohol. So, ladies with very sensitive skin or those who are allergic to alcohol would better watch out or sample it first (they have sample of this, believe me).
2.5 ml is sufficient for 3 to 4 applications because you just need 4 drops at most for entire face. It makes my skin baby soft and very hydrating. The very special thing likes other reviewers say, it is 'climate wise'. It delivers more moisture when the climate is dry and it leaves a thin thin layer on my skin afterwards. The thin layer is supposed to bind and seal the moisture and I believe it does. I guess oily skin will not like this tho.
The last point is it makes the laugh lines less obvious. I guess because the lines are pumped up by the moisture.
I would definitely repurcahse but I guess that will be 4 or 5 months later because 200ml can last 4-5 months.
Highly recommend Eudermine to: normal-to-dry skin, dehydrated skin, dry skin. Just be wary of the alcohol, make sure you skin can stand for that.

This is a TOTAL luxury product, crazy expensive, and absolutely not necessary for any skin care regimen. That being said, it's such a decadent treat and I really enjoy it. I use it more as a toner than a moisturizer for my super dry skin, and it has an interesting sensation when used on the skin. It has a soothing, cooling feel when applied, but unlike toners with alcohol, it leaves skin feeling soft and supple and not dried out at all. Bottled in a beautiful red glass bottle, it has such a unique peony scent. Just lovely.

This is a pure luxury. Of course this is the best of all Shiseido's (and not only Shiseido's) toners, but it is not only a toner. Try it when your skin really needs extra-pampering. Very gentle, ultra-moisturizing and a divine smell and feel on the skin.

I have dry skin with an oily surface, and Eudermine is one of my beauty secrets. It moisturizes just the right amount no matter what time of year (The stuff has a humectant detector so it moisturizes more when air is dry, less when humid) - If that isn't enough to convince you, just try it! It's an instant soother, and it plumps dull skin! Helps me to use less moisturizer, (which justifies the price in my head). I Love it- only draw back is glass bottle with a stopper-type lid isn't very user friendly, and not ideal for travel!

This moisturiser could also possibly be touted as a 'treatment' by Shiseido. Eudermine is said to be a skin softener which will make your skin soft as petals. Beautiful package,a tall slim dark red bottle. Shiseido gives quite a bit of this liquid for the price, about $50 from the department store. Unfortunately, while the bottle looks gorgeous sitting on the desk or wherever you choose to place it, it doesn't do a whole lot beyond some light moisturisation. It feels good going on, and during the winter months it fights itchy areas fairly well. It also has a delicate and smooth scent. As far as improving the look of the skin, though, it is a bit of a bust. No visible changes whatsoever. Purchase this only if a few purely 'luxury' feel-good items are on your shopping list.

This has a very smooth cooling effect when applied to the skin, plumps up skin, tones, moisturizes skin by itself but preps skin for moisturizer to absorb even better, smells fresh, beautiful bottle, very expensive. I'm on my second bottle and will continue to purchase for years to come. Aside from the aesthetic properties of this product, it really does moisturize! In my opinion this may be more beneficial for 30+ years young, dryer skin, like me.

This liquid is pure heaven in a bottle. It hydrates my skin and leaves it supple. Because of the hefty price tag, I usually just apply it with my fingers instead of using a cotton pad. Worth a try if you have dry or combo skin.
