This is a strange foundation in my opinion. The first time I put it on it was cakey, and clung to my dry patches and pores. And when I say clung to my pores, I mean "little dots where my pores are"clinging. Not cute. I applied with a buffing brush.
The next time I tried it, I put on a sunscreen in addition to my regular moisturizer. FLAWLESS. Perfect skin. No clinging. I applied with fingers.
The third time I applied it with fingers again, but without the addition of sunscreen. Clinging to pores and dry spots again.
While I get why people adore this foundation, it's too high maintenance for me. I shouldn't have to glob a ton of moisturizer to make it work. Plus it's 60 bucks.
I am going to try it one last time, but I really don't think it's worth it.

Love this foundation. Looks natural, and holds up well (with powder) in the humid climate I live in. The color also did not oxidize on me, which is great. Will cling to flakes tho, so make sure your skin is properly hydrated/exfoliated.

This has become my HG for winter!! Ive had this foundation for about a year now and could never make it last on my Oily skin, and would only wear it for when i only needed coverage for around 4hours... UNTIL NOW! So just a little background on my Skin Type - I have VERY oily, Sensetive skin! Oily to the point where my skin becomes a grease ball after 2hours! Ok so Lets start on the foundation.. Even though i have extremely oily skin this foundation works perfectly for me in the colder months! Whilst i agree in summer this would not last past the 6-8 hour mark during heat and humidity... during the winter combined with other products i can make this last on my oily skin ALL DAY without breakdown! I still get shine coming through after about 3-4 hours however its far from greasy and i tend to like the ''Luminous'' look. This Foundation is 100% Natural looking.. it does not cake whatsoever! It provides sheer to medium coverage in my opinion.. so if you do prefer a fuller coverage this may not be for you, however I'm sure with some concealer you would be good to go! My skin is far from perfect, I have large pores, Redness and some old acne scarring and this makes my face flawless! It leaves in my opinion a semi-matte which looks luminous. It uses a technology called Micro-Fill which is basically silicones which almost work like a primer to smooth the skin and fill in any lines and pores. If you do not get along with silicones then i do recommend you steer clear from this.. however do try a sample and you may just fall in love! If you have oily skin like mine you may find the foundation will break down if worn alone after around 6hours.. HOWEVER i have found a routine which paired along with some other products makes this last ALL DAY! 1. Apply a moisturiser preferably one that is mattifying. 2. Spray your face with a setting spray (I love Skindinavia's Setting spray, Or you could try DE SLICK by Urban Decay) 3. Apply Primer, I use Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer 4. Apply the Foundation 5. Set with powder 6. Spray once more with either Skindinavia setting spray or De Slick by Urban decay and then apply one last coating of powder. I promise you this will make this Foundation last ALL DAY on oily skin!! You will still have shine however it will not break down as it would if worn alone! I cannot recommend the Skindinavia Setting spray enough!! Its abit hard to get a hold of in the UK i buy mine online however you can purchase the Urban Decay De Slick which works just as well and is even made by Skindinavia. The Urban Decay spray can be purchased at any of their counters in Debhenams, House of Fraiser, John Lewis, Selfridges etc. I am an NC40-42 in MAC i have just got back from Turkey and caught a Tan so i am a solid NC42 and Shade 8 matches me perfectly. In the winter months when im usually abit lighter and am more of an NC40 shade 7.5 is perfect for me and has great Yellow undertones! They have a shade for everyone and have such a wide selection of colours and undertones and have actually recently come out with more shades. There is a reason why this foundation has Won In Styles ''Best foundation of the year'' 10 YEARS IN A ROW.. because its so damn amazing! This is used by many celebs from Kim Kardashian to Demi Lavato and i can see why! Please do not be put off by any other reviews if you have oily skin. If you follow my application method above this foundation should work for you as it has with me! Overall just go out there and grab a sample!! I urge you to try this foundation ASAP!

Love, love, love this foundation. It makes your skin luminous without a doubt. All the girls in my family is using this and we all love it. The only thing why I gave it 4/5 is that I wish it comes it more shades of colours. My current shade is a tad too dark for me and the next shade down is too light/way too pinkish for me. I have a yellow based skin tone so I always have to mix this foundation with and skin illuminator product to make it lighter to match my skin tone.
I live in melbourne, where it is mostly dry weather so this foundation is really good. However whenever I go to countries like singapore which is high is humidity and heat, this foundation does nothing for me. This product is great for dry skin to normal skin in my opinion. I always have to put powder on it to make it look for flawless and finished.

I wanted to love this foundation after reading rave reviews across the blogging world but unfortunately it just didn't work for me. The shade was perfect (2) for my fair skin but sadly it emphasised my dry skin areas like no other foundation. I'm going to try mixing it with moisturiser or sunscreen just so it doesn't go to waste, but I won't be repurchasing.

I spent countless hours trying to figure out what the numbering convention means for the shades. I am an NW25 (BR20 Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, 125 MUFE) and ordered a 5.5 from Nordstrom. It was slightly too dark and too orange. I did a live chat on Nordstrom's website and asked if a 5.25 would be a better match. They said a 5.25 is for yellow-toned skin. WRONG! Karlasugar's swatch of 5.25 looked more pink-toned, so I ordered it anyways. It is the perfect color for NW25, light to medium, pink to neutral-skin! I couldn't even tell what was my skin and what was my foundation during application. It is the best foundation I have ever used - very pigmented, light to medium coverage and luminous. Although the price is steep, it's worth it!

I have been a loyal fan of Armani makeup. Been using their products for years yet just recently decided to try Luminous Silk foundation. The sales lady suggested that I try Luminous for Fall/Winter and keep Lasting Silk for Spring/Summer. I love Lasting - it is my HG foundation although I love maestro as well. After testing Luminous for a week, I have to say that I'm quite disappointed. It's supposed to be a better choice for dry skin yet it lacks the luminous effect on my skin. I use it with Fluid Sheer and my skin still looks rather dull. I could tell it wouldn't look good on me as soon as I rubbed it on my face. Not sure if I'm applying it incorrectly. Lasting Silk instantly gives me a dewy glow and feels so light on skin. Luminous however feels heavy.... it has great coverage though. I will keep using it and may perhaps edit this review after finishing the bottle. The current verdict is that I prefer Lasting Silk for my combo skin much better.

Hands down my HG foundation. The color matches perfectly (which as a Latina it can be difficult to find a foundation that matches my olive complection), goes on smoothly and is buildable. I use this in conjunction with the Armani foundation brush and my skin looks flawless every time. I used to receive tons of compliments when I switched to this foundation 3 years ago (I used to use the Bobbi Brown foundation stick before). Now everyone just assumes I have flawless skin.

so this is a first impressions review.
I got a sample from selfridges, birmingham.
Overall I am in love with this foundation! Application is easy and blendable. You can acheive a medium buildable coverage without it caking and looking like a mask.
The shade match is perfect, I was matched to 4.5. It fits me perefect and if I wanted to I wouldnt have to blend into my neck. I always do though.
Damn it lasts long too! It stays at a satin finish and no spf so no flashback on photography.
I will definitely be repurchasing.

At first I really didn't like this foundation, it's pretty pricey at £34.00 and it didn't seem to give me enough coverage or anything. At first I loved the finish but later it used to look so powdery and cakey. But now I LOVE IT SOO MUCH, it's nearly HG for me, I usually have to use like 3 pumps to get the coverage I want which is very wasteful but the foundation is very build able and doesn't cake at all. It gives a nice luminous finish, and looks like your skin, I sometimes do have to conceal the odd monster blemish with concealer etc, but otherwise I just set with my powder, now I use a fine milled loose one (Chanel Poudre Universelle) rather than my MAC MSF. I have a love hate relationship with this, it's a good foundation and would be HG if I had better skin and was about £10 cheaper :(
