I used the studio warm wax. On my legs.
PROS: didn't really hurt at all. All natural. No strong smells. Leaves your legs extremely soft.
CONS: >>> IT DOESNT remove all of the hair. A LOT of it is left behind. I'm still going to have to shave, because of this. Too messy. You use a lot. I ended up using the whole jar, just on my legs and there are still bits of hair left behind. It left everything including myself unbelievably sticky and it isn't washable. So you have to use the oil that comes with it that leaves you smelling werid.
OVERALL: While this is pretty gentle, but I think there are better waxes out there. That are more effective and less messy. I'm moving on to hopefully something better then this mess. If I repurchased I would buy the Quick and easy wax strips for body and legs. It's less of mess and hassle.

I bought this on sale at Ulta on a whim. I've had bad experiences with at-home waxing before (NADS, here's looking at you) and haven't done it in years. This kit is amazingly easy to use and very effective. I used the sugar wax kit and liked it a lot... the sugar wax smelled pleasant, and was gentle but effective. The sugar wax is also better to use if you tend to be a little on the messy side, unlike traditional wax, it dissolves easily with water. The strips were textured well and were generously sized. There is definitely enough to last you the whole kit, but if you want, you can re-use the strips by folding them in half after use and using the clean side to do the next strip. I did find myself having to go over some areas again, but the strips did remove the good majority of hair when I did it correctly. The azulene oil was an added bonus, I thought that it lessened the irritation and sunk in well without being oily. With patience, you will see good results from this kit.

I just bought the "Quick & Easy Wax Strips Face-Bikini" when I ran out of Nad's, which I've unfortunately tortured myself with for the past 10 years. These little stips are pure heaven compared to Nad's, I felt no pain waxing the bikini line, amazing! Why didn't anyone tell me this earlier. Throw out your Nad's and buy these strips instead. The only con is the plastic the wax comes on is a bit too stiff, they could improve the product with a different plastic.

I've been using this wax for around 2 or 3 years. The first one I tried was Hot wax and it did such a great job, so then I tried Parissa warm wax and Parissa body sugar. both of which worked amazingly. Warm wax comes with 20 long strips, azulene oil and 3 spatulas! It is not washable so it could be messy. If you want a washable option, use body sugar instead. I think all these products come with azulene oil which removes any wax residue (although you won't really need it with the body sugar, so you can keep it if you are planning on using the warm wax). With the body sugar, you can reuse the strips so I always have extra when I buy the warm wax.
A couple of months ago, I wanted to try a cheaper product, Veet microwaveble wax. It didn't come as close as Parissa. It was cheaper but it hardly removed any hair. I'm sticking to Parissa since it WORKS INCREIBLY, even though it might be pricier than other over-the-counter wax kits. I will be trying Andrea, but I doubt it will be better than Parissa.

This is for the microwavable wax. This is the first time I've used wax rather than sugaring, and I'm really pleased with how effective it is. It is messy, and like another reviewer below mine somehow spilled while stored upright in my cupboard in a tightly closed jar. But I've found that so long as I'm careful I can use it without too much of a mess. I usually put a big cardboard box down on the floor and sit on that while I wax. I put the jar on a plate w/ a paper towel under the jar to microwave it, and then leave it on the plate the whole time. Any spill clean up pretty easily with vegetable oil. My only complaint is that it's hard to get the temperature right. The amount of microwave time to get it warm enough to be liquid but not so hot that it hurts goes down as I use up the wax, so I have to guess each time how long to microwave it for. And it cools off fairly quickly, so I often zap it three times just while waxing my legs. I wish it came in a ceramic pot or something that would hold heat.
Edit: I recently bought the sugar wax version of this. It works perfectly for my upper lip and eyebrows, though isn't quite strong enough for legs or bikini. It is incredibly easy to clean any spills.

This stuff is good and effective. Removed even the coursest hairs with minimal pain. Results were similar to that of a professional waxing. It is a bit sticky and messy, but that blue oil works well to remove any stray wax. Only wish they provided more of that blue oil. I've tried Nads, and this is 100% better for a lot less money.

I used to use the warm Nair roll-on, but it's been discontinued, so I picked this up for a change. It's amazing! Seriously, I did my legs, underarms, and bikini lin in about 45 minutes because it works so well. I do have alot of waxing experience so I didn't find this too messy to work with at all. Maybe not the best thing for a beginner, but if you know what you're doing it is amazing!

Parissa Warm Wax is a decent product for waxing. It gets all the hair out gently and effectively. Unfortunately it is EXTREMELY Messy, and cannot be remomved with conventional methods. The pamplet suggests using the azulene oil it comes with or Fantastik if I remember correctly. It is not water soluble. I accidently stored the box on it's side, and the wax slowly oozed out stained my carpet a bit. Just be careful where you are using this.
Update: Somehow someway this stuff finds a way out of it's container even if stored upright. This stuff got everywhere. Ugh..Way too messy, and not water-soluable. Not worth the trouble! Downgrade to 2 lippies.

As a longtime devotee of do-it-yourself waxing, I have to say that Parissa Warm Wax is one of the BEST I've ever tried. Granted, it is especially messy - in that this stuff is a PAIN to clean up. But the azulene oil is very effective in removing the wax residue left upon my counter and skin after waxings. Also I've found that using concentrated baby oil gel right removes the stuff almost as well. After I've waxed my armpits, I always apply the baby oil and let it dissolve the wax for a good ten minutes. The trick with this wax is to get it a bit past WARM, bordering on hot, but not enough to burn the skin. Then spread a very very fine thin layer and apply strip and pull, while holding skin taunt. This wax seriously gets the finest and nubbiest hairs! Just like all things, you must practice! And a $8 a jar, that lasts for months, it's a steal! The only downside is that I do occasionally tear off skin from my upper lip when using this wax, but that's more due to my own carelessness than the wax itself.

This was the worst wax I have ever tried. For all the mess it made it barely removed 50% of my leg hair..Plus, even after repeated oil treatments, I was left with that disgusting sticky feeling on my legs...from now on I will stick to sugaring.

This was an awful disaster of a product... The wax gets thick and wont take hair off after a certain point (and I made sure to keep re-heating), It's effectiveness is very hit and miss... big areas of my leg and the wax took 95% of the hair straight off, but other spots I went over 3-4 times and still had 50% of hair remaining... And the mess! maybe Im doing something different but I didnt find that the oil, nor anything else in my house took this mess off of the bathroom counter... Ive been scrubbibng at it for 25 minutes with brush and oil/fantastik/acetone and there's still spots that wont give...
On the plus side, I have 4-5 strips left, though the wax itself was too little IMO...
Not worth the hassle to me, I'll spend $5 more and get my legs done at an esthetics school...

This is actually a review for the Body Sugar by Parissa, but I have similar raves for it as others do for the Wax version. I bought this to wax my boyfriend's (VERY HAIRY) back, and I was astounded by how well it worked! I thought the experiment would be a disaster, but this stuff took off every last hair with minimal effort - and that was my very first time attempting to wax anyone, including myself. All I did was mimic what professionals have done to me in the past, and I did a pretty damn good job. It left his back super smooth, and each strip could be pressed down and used again 3 or 4 times after the first use, which was a lifesaver because even then we ended up with only 3 strips left (and about 1/4 of the wax - told you he was hairy). He has very sensitive skin and has suffered from eczema his whole life, so I was convinced any sort of waxing would irritate him badly, but nope - he was barely irritated and didn't break out at all. Anyways, I was so impressed with the stuff that I'm going to use the rest of the strips and product on myself. Also love the fact it's not tested on animals, and that it's made locally (i'm a Vancouverite!). It was definitely messy, but as long as you keep a warm washcloth nearby and avoid carpet, you'll be fine! ***By the way, the Sugar version washes right off with water, no oil needed. It's advertised as being "Ideal for Beginners", which I definitely agreed with!

I have the 'Parissa Waxing Strips' for the face. These are bad ass!! It's the closest thing I've found to professional waxing - 99% of the hair came off on the first try. I think I'm going to try the BIG strips (for waxing my legs and the bikini area). $8 at Ulta.

Ow! It hurted the first time I used it. But like most of the hair comes out on the very first try. Very messy. Can only come off with oil. And some parts of my underarms bled. Still..very efficient, will try a few times and let my skin adjust. One warning, it is a very painful procedure.

This product works very well, and the smell is not bad, but like everyone else has said it's really messy. I've had some bad experiences with it on clothing and carpet, which is nearly impossible to fix...I think I will continue to buy this even though of the messyness b/c of the price.

This is the only waxing product that has ever worked for me. It took off about 90% which is a far cry from the 5% from other brands. It is a bit messy but that is something that will improve with practice.

This is a very good product. It gets 99% of the hair off, and it probably is the most similar thing to salon wax that you can buy at the drugstore. But it does have its cons. It's extremely messy, especially due to the fact that you need to use oil to clean it up since it's not water-soluble. By accident, I knocked it over and some wax got on the carpet. Clean-up=NOT FUN! Other than that, it's worth the money ($8-$12) and you can get the job done quickly once you get the hang of it.
Edit 6-18-04: Last night as I take this out of the closet intending to use it, I see that the wax spilled out and has made a *huge* mess so I decide to toss it. I could have sworn I screwed the top of the container on tightly the last time I used it, but whatever. I take the glass tube of the azulene oil out since it wasn't affected by the spill. Well this morning, it falls out of the medicine cabinet and breaks, exploding all over the sink. I think this is a sign that this kit isn't for me. I'll stick with strips.

This is the absolute BEST wax out there. I give myself Brazilians with this wax (yes, full Brazilians). I use this on my bf's back and on my legs too. This is THE greatest warm wax ever. Sugaring does nothing for me, neither do those pre-waxed strips. This takes a little practise, but after a while, I've learned to do both my legs in 15 minutes. No more shaving for me. Ever.

I love this wax! It's the closest thing I've ever found to the stuff used by professionals. Yes, it can be a bit messy (but cleans up well with the oil provided or baby oil) and you might have to reheat it if you are waxing a large area, but it gets ALL the hair off. Did my bf's chest yesterday, took about half the strips and half the tub of wax. I do my bikini line, upper lip and any other small fuzzy areas and the tub lasts for a LONG time. I have to buy more strips, but they are only about $3.00 and I stocked up on sticks at the dollar store. I highly recommend this wax!
