Will buy again until i find my HG. I tried several lip balms from mau top picks n nothing really works great on my dryness prone lip. This one when i use before bed time then go to sleep my lip will stay moisterized n peeling free during the next day. The staying power over the llip is the best among all the lip balms i have tried. But I always hated the smell n the to much minty sensation.

I've been using this lip product for the past 3-4 years and I could never go back to any other lip balm. It instantly soothes and calms dry and chapped lips and conditions them.
Since I 've been using this I have not had dry or chapped lips
this is better than Vaseline for your lips!

This stuff smells like crap. It's overwhelming, and it's holding me back from using it! Besides the horrible smell, it does work very well as a lip treatment. I can feel the tingly-ness in my lips when I use it. It heals and repairs.

Great for winter.
When my lips are constantly chapped/dry, Carmex is literally the only thing I've found that heals them instead of just providing temporary moisture. So even though I use different lipbalms etc I will always make sure I have a pot of this around.
The smell is pretty strong (menthol, camphor) but not unpleasant to me, gives you a tingling sensation upon application.
Affordable and available at pretty much any drug-store.
Glossy finish and long-lasting. It literally stays on for hours.
The only gripe I have with this product:
Wish it had SPF (I've tried the SPF carmex tubes, they don't last as long on the lips and aren't as moisturising IMO)
The tub is pretty narrow and deep instead of being wide and shallow. So when you get to the middle can be a challenge to get the product out without it getting all over the place.
I'll always restock when I run out though because for me, it is a great product and the only thing that totally heals my lips.

I always have to use a lip balm even in my sleep or my lips feel like they're about to dry out. I'm a total addict & have to say this is by far the best out of many that I've tried, it doesn't make my lips feel even more dry like some do.

1 word for this: goopy! If it isn't super super dry out or I'm not in the mountains, I don't need this. When the weather is fair I go with my Bert's beezewax.
When I go to the snow you better believe I LOADup on this and it keeps my lips moisturizer and immune from drying out

I love this product. I have a lip balm addiction and this is my favourite product that satisfies it. It keeps my lips moisturized for hours after applying it and leaves a cool, minty feeling afterward. It does contain medicinal ingredients, so I believe that's whats working the magic. It has a strong odor that can really put you off and tastes a little funny. I got used to it fairly quickly, but I can't say that is universal.

Carmex is a pretty good lip balm. I like the blistex lip medex a lot better, but this is pretty close to it. I like the smell & the tingly feeling that the menthol gives you. I don't really like the cherry scented one, strawberry is okay, but original is my favorite. I haven't tried the others. My favorite packaging is the squeeze tube. But if that one is sold out then I get the jar. I can't stand the click stick one. But overall, this is the best lip balm for when your lips need some extra care, or for in the winter

PROs:
- This really works. I don't use this on a regular basis (see cons belIow) but I keep it beside my bed and every now and again I put a thick-ish layer of this on my lips at night. In the morning I always wake up with super soft lips and all cracks that may have been there gone.
- It's cheap
CONs:
- The smell. It's kind of a mentholy waxy rubbery smell, really strong (some may like it?), and I HATE how it just lingers on. As I said I put this on at night sometimes, and I can just feel the horrible smell up to the point that I fall asleep. Really puts me off.
- The packaging. The jar is just so small/ narrow, that when I get about half way through it, I find it really hard to get any product out. Persisting, you get it all over your finger and under your nail - disgusting! Unless you take it out with a cotton bud or something, this is bound to happen. I'd much prefer it if it was in stick form, or just a larger Vaseline-like jar.

The best lip balm ever! Carmex is so, so reliable...it always does its job no matter when you pick it up. There's always a certain comfort level about having such a lifeline around. Such as this morning, I woke up with the driest lips, which was extremely odd as my lips have been so soft recently..but I picked up my carmex and they were back to perfect in a minute (no idea how I managed this so early, at 5am, in bed). I don't use Carmex all the time. I own a lot of other lip balms and I've found these to be way better to use very regularly, but I'm ALWAYS glad to have one around!

I would only buy this product again for use of cold sores an nothing else...
I got a cold sore from using a kleenex in my purse that had been up against some cash and I needed to blot my lipstick. (Never again!) This killed it pretty fast when I mixed the treatment with icing my cold sore several times a day followed by this product.
However, it's a level 6 on the toxic radar and that's not what I like to see when putting something on my body. 4 Ingredients are considered not healthy, 2 if put in high enough amounts would make this a level 7 or higher... (The fragrance and phenol are what could make it a higher toxic risk) But as a treatment this does work. I just won't use this on a daily basis.

Love this!! I went through a phase where I discovered I was allergic to everything: Chapstick, Burt's Bees, Vaseline, Softlips...until Carmex came to the rescue! I've gone through many jars of this and will continue to repurchase. It's inexpensive, tingly, and does the job at keeping my lips moisturized in cold Canadian winter weather. I find it excellent as a base for lipstick, and layered with my other HG lipbalm (Kiehl's #1), my lips have never been happier! I just put this on with a dab of Kiehl's in the morning and no need to reapply for the rest of the day. I always have one in my purse, beside my bed, and several as backup.

This is my HG along with Bigelow's Rose Salve. I use this to restore my lips, and Rose salve for moisturize. Carmel revitalizes my lips like no other. Days with awful, cracked, chapped are all fixed with this. I've gotten over the taste and smell a long time ago. It's worth it for beautiful lips. I always get it in the pot and not the tube, and I like the classic packaging. My lips are always healthy after Carmex, love it.

Don't know why I buy expensive lip treatments when I always come back to this one and it works. My lips were a real mess recently after travelling, dried out and peeling. One night-time application of Carmex and they were back to normal the next morning. It really seems to heal. Although it's too heavy to wear under lipstick, I find it works pretty well to put some on and blot it off and then apply lippie. Yes it's kind of wasting product, but it's still cheaper than using an expensive lip primer.

I LOVE this lip balm! It's cheap, moisturizing and leaves a cooling sensation on the lips due to the menthol in the product. This is my go-to lip balm, and I always keep one beside my bed. The only downside to this product is that I don't carry it around with me, since I find it unhygienic to stick your fingers in a jar when on the go. I much prefer a chapstick when I'm out! But at home, this is a real lifesaver. Love using it just before bed - I always wake up with the softest lips the day after. I highly recommend this product! :)

I am on accutane - I went to a pharmacy to buy what must have been my 50th lip balm, I would be surprised if there is one on the market I haven't tried. I avoided carmex because i find the yellow packaging ugly (it's true) butI picked up this pot because the pharmacist recommended it and it is the best lip treatment I have ever used. I was on accutane for a month and this was the first thing to give me real relief. I cannot recommend it enough.
I can rate this over nuxe reve de miel, chapstick, paw paw ointment, blistex, clinique treatment.. And many more!

I said yes, I would buy this product again, but I think actually it's more like a maybe. On the one hand, I like how glossy it makes my lips and the refreshing feel of camphor (although it does smell/taste medicinal), the effect doesn't last. In fact, I've read that the active ingredients in Carmex (menthol and camphor) can actually irritate sensitive skin, leading to more drying and chapping, so you apply more lip balm, which leads to more chapping, so you apply more, repeat to infinity.
However, even though I know it might not actually help chap lips, I still find myself reaching for it occasionally just to get that glossy, fresh feeling, even if it is temporary. In short, avoid overusing it, especially if you have sensitive skin, but once and a while as a shine boost it's nice to fall back on the classic.

100% my favorite lip product I have ever had. I've tried lots of others lip balms and chap sticks but this is the one I always go back to. I always have one on my nightstand by my bed, in my backpack and in my bathroom. It's perfect in my opinion. If you get dry or chapped lips or just need a go to chap stick to keep them healthy this will do all of that for you and more. Whenever my lips are chapped and damaged from the winter weather this heals them in no time and puts them back in mint condition.I actually have the one in the squeeze tube packaging but the one in the little jar is just as effective. One thing I have to mention is the smell and taste isn't the best in the world haha, but I can ignore that because of how amazing and cheap it is. I still have yet to find anything that can measure up to this. I will forever love this product.

this is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best lip treatment for dry and chapped lips as well as for every day use. i used it while i was on roaccutane and without it i would have ripped my mouth off - it was SO DRY that it bled sometimes. i love everything about it - it feels really beautiful and smooth on application, i'm into the tingly sensation you get immediately afterward, and it makes your lips look healthy and shiny. i use it during the day and slather it on big time before bed for an overnight treatment. it may not be the sexiest lip balm ever, but it's so much more effective than chapstick, baby lips, etc and i have repurchased this over and over.
