I really, really love this perfume and body lotion. Love the rich (even heavy) fruty zestiness. Some other reviewers have found this to be an old lady perfume. Well, I guess that I (30 ish) like old lady perfumes then - I like full bodied, rich aromas. Keep your light and springtime fresh scents!
Due to its richness this is a cooler weather scent for me, but I LOVE IT. Love Amarige and Guerlain too (and those Floris scents that Luca and Tania hate so much in their new book - pfllllt to them).

Well, I was really disappointed in this fragrance. It smells very harsh on me. Even after I let it drydown it still had a harsh smell on me, like roses that got really old. Oh well this is what I get when I buy something unsniffed!

This smells sparkly and peachy on me, which I really like. It has a very unique scent, that you can pick immediately as being Champagne/Yvresse. I find it an interesting fragrance, as well as smelling gorgeous!

Just got a bottle and have to say, I love this perfume! I have the EDT spray. I had the lotion first, was underwhelmed, grew to love it. Then I got a sample of the EDT and had to have a bottle. It is perfect on me, a light powdery apricot that is also musky, slightly waxen and a bit fizzy. People call it loud and mention many notes of all sorts but on me, It is a private, intimate scent, more reminiscient of the scent of a child's clean head and skin than champagne. Pale sheer, light as cloud, dream scent.

To me this was a complete let down. I love champagne, I love its effervescence, and I love its dry zip on the tongue. Never have I ever had champagne that reminds me of grape jolly ranchers, but this does. Perhaps I've just been fortunate in my champagne choices. Shudder. Scrubber.

I love champagne, and YSL captured every aspect of it in this scent. Bubbly sharp top notes, fruity, sweet, and boozy middle notes, and the final dry wine aftertaste in the base notes. So perfect. I love it! Festive, sweet, and fun. Update 6/27/08: Not so good in summer. Even one spritz was cloying. Put it away once it's warm enough for short sleeves.

I will always think of this as Champagne, no matter what name it bears. It will always remind me of Christmas and New Years, it is wonderful for cold-weather festive times, like house parties where there are gingerbread and cinnamon scented candles and simmering mulled cider to contend with. Needs to be applied very sparingly. I can see why some don't like this, since spicy chypre scents are not currently in fashion with the younger set. One certainly needs confidence, style and the right attitude to pull this one off. Definitely not for the timid.

Yvresse/Champagne has yet to be dethroned. I have searched far and wide in my attempts to determine whether a better fragrance exists and so far, it remains the Holy Grail for me.
Almost a bit too formal for casual wear and yet so rich and luscious....violets, vanilla, sugar, apricot-peach, florals, so rounded, so FEMININE, so PRETTY, so right....

I found a bunch of these (Champagne) at the dollar stores just as YSL was transitioning it to Yvresse. Bought all I could afford at that time, I was but a wee lass. I've used it on and off since college. Still smells like champagne and oddly, cucumbers on me. Carries quite a bit, isn't too fruity or nauseatingly sweet, and I always get compliments.

I am not one to right negative reviews, I believe if you hate a fragrance why bother reviewing it...but this, I just have to say makes me ill! Oh yuck it is just so blah and the worst part is my MI and SI absolutely adore it, every time we go somewhere they are covered in the stuff, not to mention they ask for it every birthday, it seriously gives me a headache. We were out one night and one of my friends came along and she whispered to me, "can you smell that perfume", I said "yeah" she says, "who's wearing it, it is rotten". Need I say more....

Yvresse is a rich-fruity, cloying type of fragrance. I even liked it when it was released but when I bought the full size I realised that it made me sick. I usually don't appreciate fruity scents.

I like this fragrance, especially in the winter. I have had a bottle of the Champagne body lotion for a very long time. Because I have problems with fragrance and headaches, I mix a little of this in with an unscented body lotion before I put it on.

Champagne is a delightful, bubbly effervescent violet rose (not rose violet) dominated fruity chypre. It is very evocative of champagne but more of the mood then the actual scent. Light, longlasting with wonderful sillage. Hubby says it smells like the candy necklaces / bracelets that kids wear (and / or parma violets). He loves it and he is usually a musk or vanilla man!
I find this very original. Demeter Champagne Brut is very similar but more like the drink and less elegant classy. A spring HG for me. 5*****

What a beautiful FRAGRANCE!!!! Today I wear Yvresse/Champagne and get endless compliments from men and women. It's hot outside and this fragrance smells simply wonderful on me. A delicious, sparkling fruity-chypre with an exquisite vanilla drydown. DIVINE. I LOVE this great and soft "nectarine-fragrance" created by Sophia Grojsman. I like classy posh fruity fragrances (love love love Nahema by Guerlain) and I love spicy/vanilla/amber-orientals. Here a description: Yvresse by YSL for Women.
Year Introduced: 1993 created by the "nose" Sophia GROJSMAN.
Scent Type: Floral - Fruity.
Top Notes: Nectarine, mint, anise.
Heart Notes: Blue rose, otto rose, litchi.
Base Notes: Oakmoss, vetiver, patchouli.

Unfortunately, I have oily skin, and on me this scent turns chemical and sour almost right away. I like the concept, to me it really smells like champagne. Just cannot wear it.

This is definitely a celebration in a bottle. I smell bubbles!! Love it, love the bottle, love everything about it. I was lemming this for years but I thought I was too young to wear it. I'm probably still too young to wear it! But it makes me happy, and that's the main reason I buy fragrance at all :-)

This scent is incredibly effervescent. It’s sexy and flirty, but also refined and womanly. I'm reminded of Mure et Musc (which I love) when I wear this, and also Love Spell--the popular "grape-y" scent from Victoria's Secret (which I loathe and despise). It’s very sweet and bubbly, like fruit with delicious cream and champagne--a fragrance for a decadent night. I wouldn’t wear it all the time, but I’d wear it when I want to feel like a woman who is fun and playful. The Boyfriend loves and adores it on me. It makes him a tad frisky. If you wear the VS scent I described above, I implore you to try this one. It smells much, much better.

I used to love this in the 80's when it was called Champagne, so I bought a sample of this on ebay to give it a try. Didn't like it this time around. It smelled very old-ladyish to me. It's quite sweet, and does smell like champagne, but it really reminds me of an old lady. Glad I bought just a sample size. The bottle is cute though.

This is my perfume that I put on when I want to be more "grown-up." I know that this is still a sweet, feminine fragrance, but it's very ladylike compared to Pink Sugar and Spring Flower. : ) Like most of YSL's perfumes, this is lovely and sparkley, very well-done. I got my first bottle as a gift from my cousin and will most likely repurchase when it runs out. Lovely.
