I'm definitely a new convert to the Revlon Lip Butters! For those who like a sheer wash of color with some moisture and don't want to deal with a wand of glop, thse are great. I'm a fair/medium warm/neutral with chestnut hair and olive eyes. Lips are thin and I definitely need some pigment so they don't disappear... nudes are not for me, but neither are too-dark shades because they tend to make my mouth look severe. I tend to like reds, plums and corals, but historically (until I found the now discontinued Clinique Bare Brilliance line) wore plums because reds are so tricky. This Revlon Candy Apple Lip Butter is a lovely true warm-leaning sheer red with an almost matte finish--the first wearable true red I've found since . the discontinuation of the Clinique Bare Brilliance! Color is buildable and wears down to a nice sexy bitten flush. My HG lipstick was the now-discontinued Clinique Bare Brilliance in Ruby Glass, a warmish sheer red with sparkle. If I layer the more coolish sparkly Cherry Tart (which is a lot like the old Clinique BB Cherry Quartz) over this, I get a really good approximation of the old BB Ruby Glass. Also Pink Truffle--cute pinkinsh-brown shimmery shade but I think it might look better if I have a bit of color in the summer--right now it washes me out. Based on reviews will probably also purchase Red Velvet (a deeper 40's red) for evenings and Tutti Frutti (orange/coral with shimmer) for summer. So glad to have these available at the drugstore for half the price of what I used to pay at the Clinique counter! Now, if Revlon can only create one more shade by adding shimmer to the Candy Apple, I'll be one hundred percent happy...

This is agreat red lipstick from Revlon. It feels great going on and the red is the perfect true red shade. It's a fun, bright sort of red even on my dark (NC50) skin without looking clownish. It's not the most sophisticated shade but it is fun and young and buildable from light stain-like coverage to va-va-voom full-on starlet red.
The staying power in all honesty isn't as great as with the Colorburst Lipsticks and this will need to be reapplied during the day, but it's no problem because it feels so good and luxurious on the lips like a really high quality lip balm. This does mean that you cam go through tubes of this stuff pretty quickly but that's not enough of a low point to stop me from repurchasing this as i constantly do. Everyone I've introduced to it loves the color and the shade. It's a definite staple for me.

I have a major problem, and that's that I've never found a red lipstick I've ever thought looks halfway decent on me. Firstly, I've never found a red that didn't pull too berry toned or orange toned. Did people just forget to make any wearable mid toned true reds? Being asian, red lipstick always seemed to wash me out, making my skin look paler, my lips look redder, and inevitably I would end up looking like nothing more than an old school geisha with unbalanced makeup. It's not a good look.
This is my first foray back into reds, and Candy Apple is the perfect red for the novice who freaks out at scary colors on her face. Wear it lightly for a sheer wash of color and glossiness, wear it heavier for a bright, true red. You can control the color intensity, and it's pretty neat how far the range can go with this color alone if you just change how many layers you put on. I thought I hated reds but after building up the color with this out of curiosity, I realized this particular red looks amazing on me! (NC37) If you're one of those people who have never looked good in a red lipstick, I can't stress how much you should try this one. It will change your mind

Hands down my favorite red lipstick! I have fair NC15-20 skin and was always afraid of red lips until I picked this up a few days ago. I just submitted a photo, I'm so proud of this wearing this color! I would call it a true red, not terribly orange or blue. It goes on semi-sheer but can be built up to opaque. I think given the balance of orange/blue, and the moistness and sheerness of the formula, this is a color that would be flattering on many skintones.
The formula is very creamy, moisturizing, and comfortable. There is a soft, satiny sheen right after I apply. After I've been wearing it a while (say an hour or so, without eating/drinking anything), there is a matte stain left on my lips--which I love, it gives a retro look.
I think I've found my signature red lipstick!

I love this lip butter! It is very moisturizing and feels like a lip balm with pigment.
The colour gives just a hint of coral to the natural shade of my lips and I would definitely repurchase.
Side note, I like that the cap is a box rather than a cylinder so there is no rolling when I put it down.

Such a lovely, bright red that pops on my tanned skin tone, but I feel like it will probably suit all skin tones if you play with application (e.g. sheer it out if it's too bright or layer it if you want more colour). Like all the lip butters, it's both a muted glossy finish with a balm like texture - it will require reapplying quite often, but I think if you use a lip liner pencil underneath, it will last longer. Another beautiful Revlon lip product!

One of my favorite, favorite Lip Butters. I think I like the shade of Red Velvet more, but this is a close second. Candy Apple is perfect because it gives you classic and fun looks for both day and night. The formula is moisturizing without leaving my lips feeling too moist or greasy. Because it is more like a heavily tinted lip balm than an actual lipstick, the staying power is not ideal if you want to have it lasting a long time with minimal touch-ups. If you like keeping your lips soft with some color, though, then the Lip Butters are definitely a good pick.

So many good reviews for this, I feel bad giving a not so good review.. These are so popular and wanted to see how awesome they are. I normally use all natural lipsticks because you're basically eating some of it and I wear lipstick 24/7 so I prefer quality lipstick without toxic chemicals... Anyway, the pkg on this is pretty cheap looking which would be ok if I loved the product. The lipstick/lipbutter itself is super sheer, which doesn't work for me, I like a bold pop of color since I have no pigment on my lips and I really need it. So this was pretty disappointing for me..

I am very, very fair skinned. Let's just leave it at that. Because of the 'color' of my complexion, I normally stick to non-obtrusive colors like pink based nudes or...pink based nudes. Lately I've wanted to branch out and try bolder colors, but none of them seem to flatter my skin tone. If they do, I'm too timid to wear them anywhere. I tried a lipbutter in Cotton Candy and loved it, so I figured I'd have nothing to loose (except the 6.79 I forked over for this). I actually like it! I only apply a sheer layer for a stained effect, but it can definitely be built up to opaque. I wear it with a nuetral eye for a put together look with zero effort. The only con I have is I have to apply it with a mirror, otherwise I'll end up applying too much.
UPDATE: No change in lippies, but WOW! Been wearing this toooons lately (I've gotten paler O.o) in a thicker layer, and it looks amazing. It's also a nice application, really smooth. It's moisturizing, but I wouldn't call it a 'lip balm'. It's not really a 'butter' either. It's just a nice, non drying, really creamy, buildable lipstick with a glossy effect.

I've wanted Candy Apple for so long but it was only available in other countries until like a week ago. It is a somewhat semi transparent apple red, no shimmers or glitters. This sheer lipstick gives out a wash of true apple red and brightens up my complexion immediatedly, I can then layer it up to get a fuller coverage red. The red is a true apple red, not to cool, not to warm, just right, and it suited my NC20 skin very well to give that 'just kissed' look when I apply just a very thin layer.

I had to try these, and given the very limited colour selection where I live, I chose candy apple. I figured, if it's unwearably bright then at least it didn't cost much... This colour is a bright, orangey-coral red on me. I do not see any blue in it at all. It looks best as a sheer layer of barely there colour, or a brightening top coat on top of another lipstick. The texture is very moisturising. I would buy the product again, but not this shade - it would be great in a natural rosy-pink.

i wasvery excited to try these lip butters & im so not disappointed..i really really love this candy apple. the colour pay off is exactly right for me & it moisturizers well. i would prefer if it had more staying power HOWEVER given this is a cross between alipstick & balm, its perfect. highly recommended colour!
the only gripe i have is the packaging. the bullet fits so snug onto the cover & there is no ridge or bumpy area for grip making it difficult to open.

the revlon butters are kind of hit or miss for me- some i love, some i hate. this is definitely a "love" one. the color is bright and gorgeous, and looks great sheer or opaque. the texture is amazing - feels just like a lip balm :) will totally rebuy.

As always, these butters are VERY moisturizing. Similar to Tutti Fruitti, this colour requires my lips to be exfoliated otherwise it shows off any dry areas. It can be either a sheer juicy red that brings life to your lips OR it can be layered for more of an opaque lipstick. I'd repurchase but, not as fast as I'd repurchase Fig Jam.

This was my first lip butter and I have since bought another. I love the texture these have on the lips, great for the winter when my lips tend to be on the dry side. I would say Candy Apple is a sheer-medium coverage orange-red balm. If I want it to have a bit more pow, I'll fill in my lips completely with lip liner and then apply for a true red, but if I'm in a rush or just don't feel like wearing a full on red lip, one or to swipes of this give a nice red lip that isn't too flashy and is pretty sheer. I've been wearing this everyday since I purchased this. Can't believe I have a red that is getting more use than my Mac Russian Red! I'm an NC20 for reference. I chose Candy Apple over Cherry Tart because I hate glitter and the Cherry Tart looked like sparkle city in the tube in the story.

I have always loved Revlon lipsticks, and I like this a lot after trying it out myself, it doesn't last that long, but this doesn't bother me. The color is nice, and non-drying. i was afraid to wear bright, red lipstick but i have always wanted to try; this particular color is a nice solution. I wear this when i go out with friends, and I would def want to buy other colors as well.

Very, sheer, very pretty colour on me, very moisturizing, this glowing redish-orangey colour, it doesn't stain, and it make smy lips softer and smooth and much more hydrated, and colour and flavor works best for me for colorburst froom revlon, the other colours are just much way too sheer for me. This very shiny bright shade works for me. The flavour and shade is awesome, this is my favorite Revlon product they ever prodiuced on the market, even batter than the Revlon ColorStay products. The shea butter is very moisturizing like the NatureLuxe from Cover Grll (CG) and I then have purchased this item at Walmart when I saw the commercial with the actress from Superbad and The amazing Spiderman - Emma Stone encouraged me to get it, and Iw as happpy that I did, so I wear this almost everyday and this is my HG lipstick

So for me, this colour was fairly atrocious.... For reference I have light blonde hair, blue eyes and very fair skin with a peach undertone.
I love the lip butters, and have tried many colours but this one just didn't do it for me. It has a blue-ish purple undertone and looks kind of magenta on my fair skin.
It also transfers to my teeth- gross. I do not suggest this shade for warm skin tones. It is a cool-tone colour.

An excellent sheer but buildable shade of orangey red. The only let-down would be for those with yellow teeth as this could enhance the yellowness so perhaps try before you buy. But all in all a great lip product just like the Red Velvet for those who are scared to try a red lip - makes it a whole lot more wearable.

HOT COLOR! I love Candy Apple for Fall, Winter, Spring & Summer. Great year-round face-brightening red!
This is MY TOP #1 FAVE of my lip butters. I own almost all of them. It's usually hard for me to find a warm red that isn't too clownish- too orange, brown or brick. This is it! I am now wearing this even more often than my Chanel Rouge CocoShine Sari d'Eau, or my MAC & Inglot lipsticks in similar shades.
I have pale warm NC 20 skin, blonde hair & blue eyes for reference.
I find Candy Apple to be pretty & feminine. A nice bright flirty shade that's not too sexy or dark for the office. I like pairing this with bronzed looks with Laguna or any golden bronzer like ELF's, or peachy or natural shades of blush. That makes the red lip pop. It also brings out blue eyes quite well.
The texture of the Revlon lip butters is moisturizing. Unlike others which are streaky, Candy Apple has a nice, smooth consistency. It's creamy & lovely. Finish is like a MAC Creamsheen lipstick, but more moisturizing. It's not longwearing. You will need to reapply after eating or drinking. I don't mind that. It doesn't have a smell or taste. The price is good. I will say that you'll use it up quite quickly. Also, be careful as these are soft and will smush.
Overall, Candy Apple is a gorgeous color, nice moisturizing product, applies smoothly, & is a great value. Will repurchase over & over. Highly recommend!
