I have short, straight, and generally uncooperative lashes, and this mascara reaaaally lengthens without clumping(think dolly), as well as volumnizes! The tube is gold and classy in my opinion, and the brush is definitely innovative, though by itself it doens't seem to do much besides look cool. I like the waterproofness of it as i tested it out by going for a swim with it on. Smudged a little bit, but much better than my loreal volumnous million lashes waterproof, which went all over the place. The only 2 downsides i can think of are that it doesn't hold curl(or at least my curl) very well, and the price tag.

The brush is innovative and gives me a very sweet but made up look (makes me think this is intended for Lolita fashion). It's seems to curl lengthen and volumize well and it doesn't define badly either. I've yet to find anything I consider perfect but this one is quite good. The packaging is cute too. My gripe is I always have to wipe the brush off as it collects to much product, I think a smaller hole in the top of the tube would make this mascara better.

I wanted to wait until I've used this mascara for at least a month before doing a review simply because I HATE it when the mascara performance goes down after only a few weeks.
Just a short background. Three months ago, I finally got my lash extensions removed after wearing them for a year. Sadly, I was left with short stumpy lashes. For the next four weeks, I babied my lashes, conditioning them, not wearing mascara or curling them at all. Finally, they were at a decent length and volume, though still shorter and thinner than my pre-lash extension days. At that point I decided to get a lash perm because using a lash curler would always pull my lashes. And this is where the Fairydrops mascara comes in...
I got it at Sephora because my sister strongly recommended it especially given my situation. And I'm so glad I got it because it gave me full, long and very dramatic lashes! I was so amazed. I can't really comment on how it holds a curl because of my lashes are permed but this mascara really gave me some serious length and volume.
I didn't get any clumps at all the first two weeks I got it but at the third week, it started to get just a little bit thicker and I do get small clumps. But nothing a lash comb can't handle. It's been five weeks now since I got the mascara and do far it's not drying out yet. My lashes have now gone back to its normal length and volume so when I wear this mascara now, it's even more dramatic. So dramatic that my husband actually asked me if I went back to lash extensions! (YAY!!!) Even my friend asked me the same when I saw her.
I bought this for $24 which is pretty expensive for a mascara. So I'm really hoping it doesn't dry out for quite a while. I apply it simply by doing a careful swipe twice. Sometimes I wiggle the wand if I want more volume. Removal is a little cumbersome. I use makeup remover then my oil cleanser to remove. If this tube doesn't dry out for a while, then I would definitely repurchase.

Meh.....this is not a horrible mascara but it comes out a little clumpier than most and given the cost it's not fantastic. The brush is kind of cool and unique but it's nothing amazing.

This is my HG mascara! I love love LOVE it! I have long, straight, and normal volume lashes. I use a curler and then apply one maybe two coats of this on my eyelashes and they look amazing! Natural and yet doll like, in my opinion. The best thing is that, even though it’s not water proof, it stays put until I want it off! No flaking or horrid raccoon eyes! And all you have to do to get it off, is to use warm water on a washcloth, hold it on the eye and then wipe away. I can even cry with this mascara on and it will not come off! Well unless you rub at your eyes. But still! All in all, through all weather conditions and many types of situations that cause makeup to go crazy, this lasts though them! I will say though, that after a while of using it, the formula does thicken and the mascara does flake a little bit. But that’s me trying to use it up over the time of when I should have thrown it away, because it does cost a pretty little penny!

gave me lots of length, however I am an Asian chick that has naturally straight lashes. this mascara DID NOT help me keep a curl. my lashes all came down straight even though I gave them a good curl already. returned and got the Lancôme hypnose drama mascara, and am in love with it :)

I love Asian makeup, and I have been avidly anticipating the arrival of this Japanese mascara to Sephora. This mascara has rave reviews on Youtube, and boy does it deliver! It gives an astonishing amount of length to my short pathetic lashes, and it is true that this mascara will stay put until you wash it off. The packaging is absolutely to die for as well. The only complaint is, as you may expect, the hefty price tag.

I'm on my 4th tube of this mascara. I wish I could use other regular non-tubing mascaras for for some reason they all seem to smudge on me. I use this mascara over Clinique lash primer and often another mascara (Buxom, Smashbox Hyperlash, fresh, etc) and I always get long, curly lashes at the end. It seems like a lot of mascara in the end, but I apply the primer and first mascara with a very light hand.
Fairydrops helps me "set" my mascara and prevents smudging. My mascara stays on all day and in hot and humid weather or after swimming, instead of running down my face, the mascara simply flakes or comes off in tubes--way better and easier to clean off than raccoon eyes.
I have no problem with the brush at all. When the tube of mascara hits the 2-3 month mark it gets clumpy/too fibery and doesn't work as well, but that's about the time you're supposed to get a new tube anyway. I think I use the brush incorrectly...instead of applying the mascara by having the brush curve towards my lashes, I do it the other way. It works for me, and seems to be better than the "correct" way.
I have also used this alone and get good results but prefer to use it over primer and another mascara. Yes it adds up, but for my difficult lashes, I'm very happy to have found something that works well for me, even if it means doing a few extra steps and using a couple of extra products.

best curling mascara I've ever used. Great for night, but too much for day. My lashes get so long with this that I actually have to touch up my makeup under my eyebrows. The only problem is that it can get clumpy, so only use 1 coat-2 at the most. You do have to use an oil based cleanser to take it off, but that says how great the product is. If you are addicted to your falsies, just use the individuals for extreme sexy lashes. The full lash would lok very fake in a BAD KK kind of way. I know it's harsd to imagine bad KK lashes, but herlashes to look really fake up close, and no one want that.

I've tried countless mascaras and this is officially my holy grail. Unlike other fiber mascaras I've tried it doesn't flake throughout the day or give you weird, thin, spindly looking lashes. This actually volumizes as well giving an amazing almost false lash effect. The best part about it is that it is water resistent and not water proof. It doesn't smudge on me at ALL during the day (even when i wear it on my bottom lashes) and keeps my lashes set in place, but comes off SO easy when I wash my face at night so I don't have to tug at my eyes at all. I've actually fallen asleep in it (bad, I know) and it still looked great the next day/no smudges. The tube doesn't dry out as quickly as other mascaras I've used in the past, either, and is seriously adorable. I'm on my 4th tube since this was first launched at Sephora.

This is my first high-end mascara and I was pleasantly surprised. I have Asian lashes and my monolids weigh them down. It gave me length and thickened quite a bit. The packaging is beautiful! I might rebuy this but if I find a better one I may abandon this one.

great at giving me length! i'm amazed at how long my lashes look.
can clump a bit if put too many coats (>3).
not the best at giving me volume.
maybe it's because of the fibers but i find it hard to take off, i had to pull the fibers off my lashes.
adorable packaging =)
i got it from the sephora sampler, and would never pay full price for any high-end mascara

This mascara does exactly what I need it do to: curl. I already have a lot of long lashes but they are stick straight. I hate using eyelash curlers but it's the only thing that worked, until I bought this!
It was recommended to me by the salesperson at Sephora and I am very glad I shelled out the $20something for this.
word of advice though, you will need to wipe off excess before you start applying it. Since the brush is curved, lots of product get left on the brush. If you don't wipe it off with a tissue, you will have some funky looking lashes...
other than that, this mascara is a miracle. I no longer have to use an eyelash curler! It is also very versatile. If you want curl, run the brush up on the underside of the lashes. If you want volume, run the brush down on the topside of the lashes. Or do both!
Only downside to this beauty is that it is only water resistant, not water proof. There is now a waterproof version available but I haven't seen it in Sephora yet...

Just bought this tonight after reading all the reviews. I am Caucasian, but I have short to normal length eyelashes that are pin straight and very hard to hold a curl. I figured I would give the Japanese mascara a try. I've used Fiberwig in the past and liked it, but wanted to try something new. So I got the Fairydrops. The brush is a little funky looking and gathers mascara in the grooves of it causing clumps. This mascara definitely adds length, but it clumps and makes my eyelashes look spider-ey :( I am super bummed! I was really excited to give this a try. Sadly, I will be returning this tomorrow and getting my trust old fiberwig!

I got this mascara in a sample size in the Sephora favorites mascara sampler. I was really excited given all the hype about how popular it is in Japan, plus I have the type of lashes they describe (long, straight, hard to hold a curl). However I was disappointed. If I didn't wipe the brush I got clumps of mascara and if I did wipe the brush I didn't get enough. I guess it would be a good mascara if you're looking for something that provides a very natural effect, but I was expecting more from this one and you could find drugstore brands that will give the same look. I will say it did a decent job of holding a curl, but that's not enough for me to consider buying the full size.

I feel like $24 is a bit too much to spend on mascara but I REALLY wanted to try out this product so I gave in and purchased it at Sephora. It didn't help that the packaging was so cute! This mascara, when used correctly, seriously added some dramatic length to my lashes and it definitely held a curl all day. It also didn't smudge at all during the 18 hrs that I wore it! A bonus is that it's super easy to remove which is a must for me! The only thing some of you may not like is that it really doesn't do anything as far as volumizing your lashes go. On days that I want length, I find myself reaching for this. When I want volume, I end up going with another mascara.
Overall, I think this mascara does it's job and is a decent product but because it's so expensive I don't think I'll be repurchasing this.

I really wanted to love this mascara and was super excited placing my order with Sephora. But I am disappoint. The wand is a horrendous gimmick which only helps the tacky formula clump my lashes together in giant globs. I can fix the clumping if I take the time to comb through with a metal lash comb, but then it ends up flaking everywhere leaving tiny little black spots all over my eye area. What I love about Japanese mascaras is their "water-resistant" formula which actually lasts all day and doesn't smear into racoon-eyes. This mascara has decent staying power, but I find that by the end of the day I do get a little smudging on my bottom lid. The packaging of the tube is adorable and glamorous and I love how it looks sitting in my makeup drawer. Unfortunately its beauty is skin deep so I will be returning this and going back to my trusty Imju Fiberwig mascara (which has none of the above problems AND is about $10 cheaper).

I have short (but fairly thick) eyelashes that just won't hold a curl with normal mascaras. I am also very very picky about what I put on my lashes, because any sign of raccoon eyes or smudging and I return/toss the product. I love Fairydrops, my eyelashes have never looked prettier ;)
The Packaging: Normal mascara tube, not so normal wand. It looks like 3 balls put together in a curve. If you hold the wand so the curve faces down (like a frowny face) you can apply to your whole lashline in one or two strokes. My only complaint is that the wand gathers product at the tip, and you have to wipe it off lest you get excess mascara all over the place (I know you have to do this with other mascaras too, but it really is excessive for this one).
The Product: glossy and black, and never smudges or fades. The mascara lasts all day without smudging, and even better, holds a curl all day. My eyelashes are pretty and doll-like for 12-18 hours without fading (it might be longer, but I don't wear makeup while sleeping so I couldn't tell you). It lengthens dramatically and doesn't clump :)
The Price: Pricey, but you get what you pay for, no mistake. I've tried pricier who fall short and cheaper who never reach this level of quality.

I also have Fairy Drops Scandal Queen mascara. The Sephora salespeople sold it to me as a more dramatic alternative to Blinc, which I've been using to avoid summertime raccoon eye. I am meh on the brush, but the formula gives me the effect I want: dark, dramatic eyelashes that wear all day with no smudge. It does dry very hard, so flakes can be a problem if you're an eye-toucher. Also, the formula is very thick and if you apply with a heavy hand There Will Be Clumps. I assume it's because of the fibers. I guess it's a fine line--too thick and it goes on clumpy, too smooth and it doesn't give enough volume.

I have the Fairy Drops Scandal Queen mascara, it's the one currently selling at Sephora. I bought it on a whim, and the brush intrigued me. The mascara was clumped all over the brush on the tester, and I found this to be the same case for my tube - nothing like the picture on sephora.com. I have to wipe the excess mascara off carefully before applying. I don't wipe it off with a tissue - at 24 bucks a tube I wipe it carefully back into the tube lol.
Ok so the brush is REALLY cool - it gets even the tiniest lashes and is super-easy to use without getting mascara all over your face. My lashes are pretty puny and this mascara makes them long and lush, and the formula dries quickly. The thing that makes it even better than Diorshow is that it is water resistant, so unlike Diorshow I do not have raccoon-eyes at the end of the day even in humid conditions. I do curl my lashes for a few seconds before applying and the curl lasts all day. The more I wear this mascara the more I like it. I find the price to be horribly expensive but it works so well I will likely suck it up and buy again - although once this one is dried out I am going to try the brush with my old favorite Maybelline Full and Soft and see how they compare.
The formula deserves 5 lippies, but I took one lippie off for the way it clumps on the brush and also the price gouging. If you love mascara it is certainly worth a try.
