I love this stuff! I don't have much in the way of real wrinkles, but the fine lines are starting to show up. This helped reduce them (or the look of them) in just a few days. It also has made my skin feel smoother and softer. I still use olive oil a couple nights a week, and go back to this with no problems or let-up in the smoothing and softening properties. I may have found my new HG! Will definitely repurchase.

<3!
I love this product and I've only been using it a week. I've used other serum-y type things on my skin to even my skin tone and keep wrinkles at bay and this stuff just does it all, without any drawbacks. Old dark spots from acne are even starting to fade.

LOVE!!! This poduct is AMAZING!!! My skin has NEVER been so smooth (at least as long as I can remember). I have used for only 5 days, and wow what great results in such a short amount of time! I hope they never discontinue, because this is def. nearing HG status!

Fourth day using this product and I must say I am loving what I am seeing.
My skin is glowing and looks like I have had a facial! Smells good and is a good texture. I love that I can pump out the product as opposed to dipping my fingers in a jar.
I haven't noticed yet any disappearance of wrinkles but as I previously mentioned it is only day four. Looking forward to continues results.

As I neared the age of 25 I noticed fine lines appearing on my forehead. I was somewhat okay with the fact when not wearing makeup, but it seemed as though my foundation would exacerbate the problem, leaving it looking not only more wrinkled than it was, but cakey as well! I am quite prone to freckles and sun spots, and because of this do not go outside without some foundation with SPF in it. I need the sunscreen, and the foundation erases the connect-the-dot look I loathe (I find sunscreen alone always makes me look greasy and break out).I could see my skin looked worse in sunlight and was horrified by the fact that it would only get worse over time.
Oh and it did.. By 27 my forehead lines did not get worse.. but I had developed a form of tiny tiny bumps on my forehead, it felt almost as if every pore was plugged and inflamed and I had no idea what to do. On top of that all, I started to develop awful acne on my cheeks and chin. As a teenager I was constantly complimented on my skin, and I feel like this made it even worse that 10 years later I looked leathery and oily.
I sought out the doctors advice (it is quite tough in Montreal, we do not often have our own GPs so some can be stuck with clinic doctors who do not want their time wasted), and she simply said go on birth control, but would not refer me to a dermatologist.
After taking birth control for 1 month I did notice a lot of clear up, but had to trade it in for a gain of 15 lbs, with the inability to lose it! I was so depressed I did not know what to do, and ended up choosing to be thinner over having clearer skin. Immediately the skin issues returned, though my forehead's leathery look had never really left.
I read about exfoliants and quickly bought a gommage by Roc, to no real avail (it felt smoother but looked the same). I bought all kinds of facial scrubs with the micro-beads, and exfoliated as much as I could get away with-same result, felt great but looked awful. I was so misled by the information that I was finding that I would use these products and then put moisturiser on hoping it would do SOMETHING. By chance, when in store looking for a good moisturizer to replace some non-helpul St. Ives cream, I ended up buying Neostrata's Smoothing cream- level 2, thinking it was just a good moisturizer with SPF in it. Boy was I surprised when it went on greasy and I would continuously rub my forehead to try to get it to sink in, only to feel skin cells coming OFF!
With this product I felt it was doing something, I actually saw results.. dead skin cells being burnt off my face.. layer after layer. As greasy as the smoothing lotion was, I would still put it on my pimples on my cheeks, and though it at times created more acne, it would remove all the dead skin that had formed and made wearing foundation an actual possibility; I looked 27 instead of 35.
Despite the amazing results of Neostrata's smoothing cream though, I could not get rid of those fine lines on my forehead. I ran out of the Neostrata, and stupidly did not buy any more thinking it only helped so much.
I guess I must have stopped looking in the mirror, or perhaps I was more focused on life and its setbacks. Simply put, my forehead got leathery again and those cursed fine lines stayed laughing, mocking me.
I bought mineral makeup, which I thought would somehow cause my forehead to be less plugged and clogged, and it made it look worse than it had ever looked; I now looked 40.
I remembered catching an episode of Doctor Oz, and him saying how good vitamin A was for your skin, and him talking about Retin-A and its effects, but I was wary. I did not want to spend money on yet another cream that would only do so much, or worse not work at all. Christmas came, and I received a tiny bit of cash (I am a student), and I was feeling deep pocketed and went to Walmart with a plan. There I was again confronted with all of these creams and products and I started to feel woozy, but I suddenly this blue bottle of Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair (Night cream) caught my eye. For some reason I was so drawn to the tester bottle, I found it minimalistically beautiful! I almost bought it right there, but there was some Loreal product beside it, also with Retin-somethin and also on sale. This was the defining moment, and I did not know what to do! It dawned on me to visit Makeup Alley, and I read reviews for both, seeing a better rating for Neutrogena- so I bought it!
It might just be in my head, but after 2 days my skin was exactly as others have stated, dewy, glowing and refreshed. Of course there were no major miracles but for the glowing look alone I was happy! This is the first cream that I have applied regularly, and not just because of its recommendation to do so, but because of that glowing look it gave me. I felt beautiful, even with no real diminishing lines or reduction in pimples.
After two weeks of using it daily, sometimes twice daily, I noticed a major reduction in acne, and an improvement on my forehead lines (though slight). Some of my skin did flake, but that stopped as I got used to it. Eventually though, I noticed a halt in improvement, and I still had lines on my forehead. I was quite happy regardless, it continued to reduce my acne and I even noticed my sunspots fading!
My forehead though, bane of my existence, started to get leathery again. I found my empty bottle of Neostrata Smoothing lotion during a move, and memories of skin cells peeling off flooded back. I splurged for a bottle of Neostrata Smoothing lotion, Level3.
Oh. My. God.
With regular usage of the Neostrata and Neutrogena creams, my forehead lines are GONE. My leathery, forehead? Gone.I look 10 times better than I did at 25! My foundation goes on smoothly, and I have never been happier. It seems the dead skin buildup had interfered with the magic of this cream.Exfoliate rigorously and you WILL see an improvement!

To be fair, I did not buy this product for wrinkles, nor do I have any to be able to notice any changes. I had been suffering from hormonal breakouts for several months. This had happened before and I switched BCP which cleared it up. I did not want to swich again this time so I decided to change my skincare. I was using certain products that helped but did not really get my skin to where I wanted it to be. I saw this at the drugstore and don't know why I decided to buy it. I never thought OTC retinol products would be strong enough to help with acne but I'm so glad I tried this. I used this for about a week and saw amazing results. My cysts had significantly diminshed and the frequency of new cysts popping up also changed. By the third week my skin was completely transformed. I'm on week four and results are still amazing. I continue to use this in conjunction with mandelic acid, a clay/sulfur mask and some use of BP and BHA (obviously rotating each product).

Love, love, LOVE this moisturizer!! It evens out my skintone (it looks brighter), my tiny wrinkles under my eyes look a bit more diminished and my hormonal breakouts are few and short-lived. I will definately continue with this product!

Using this product for a few days and WOW! Noticed improvement immediately. Using eye cream, serum and night/day moisturizers.
I have purchased many high end products - none work like this. It is non-greasy and absorbs quickly into skin which is a must for me. Hate having product sit on my face.
Best of the group - eye cream. Crepe-like appearance starting to go away. Will come back to review in a few weeks to let you know progress.

I recovered from an intense acne breakout last year and was left with lots of pitted scars. Make up was a frustrating ordeal because it would just sink into my pits, highlighting them more. I started researching wrinkle creams and decided to try a Neutrogena product, hoping it might fill in some of my scars and not cause further acne. I tried this one, and let me say, I am a BELIEVER.
Within one day of using the cream, I was able to apply make up without the pits being much of an issue. After one month, the texture of my skin is continuing to improve and I seem to have my glow back.
In terms of break-outs, it's been one month and I have never felt like my face was on the verge of losing control. I still get itty-bitty whiteheads, occasional red spots that never surface and the monthly monster on my chin, but the blackheads are gone and, if anything, I'd say the product has maybe slightly helped my acne.
I'd recommend this product to any man or woman with acne scars, especially those considering cosmetic treatment. I had a laser treatment 5 years ago, before my breakout, and the results with this cream were (surprisingly!) nearly as good.

This is my favorite retinoid product that I have ever used, and I have tried many prescription, drugstore and prestige brands.
I only use this about 3 nights per week because my skin is rather sensitive to retinol. So, if I use this every 2nd night, I don't get irritation. I just wake up with clear, smooth, glowing, hydrated skin. It has hyaluronic acid which I think helps temper the irritating effects that retinol can have.
I don't really have wrinkles yet, just a few under my eyes, but I do have a lot of sun spots, discoloration and blackheads. This is helping with all of those issues, especially the dark spots. I have tried that dark spot correctors from Clinique, Philosophy & Garnier & none of them worked - this is the only thing that has really helped fade them. This product has a small amount of ascorbic acid (vitamin c) so I wonder if that's helping with the spots.
When using this product, less is more, so you really just need a pea-size drop. I have had this bottle for months & haven't even put a dent in it. Plus, the bottle is pretty & the opaque glass keeps the ingredients stable.
I highly recommend this product.

Ugh. So when I first started using this it cleared my occasional pimple and made me look glowing. However, a month later and it had totally messed up my skin. Believe it or not it actually appears to have created wrinkles around my eyes and going down my cheeks from my eyes. I thought maybe it just dried out my skin and made them more noticiable so I stopped using it anywhere close to that area and instead used moistruizers there and the wrinkles have improved but are still worse than prior to using it. I have heard rumours of wrinkles getting worse and than improving with retinol but I'm not risking it. Edit: it also made my other expression lines more noticable which I only noticed now that I have not been using this and they are improving

Although this is a review of the night cream, I'm including the day lotion w/sunsreen as a 24 hour treatment. Neutrogena, Roc and Aveeno are all owned by Johnson & Johnson. This newest Neutrogena Retinol based anti-aging treatment really is their best yet. I initially didn't think it would be better than their Ageless Intensives w/Retinol as the ingredient appears much lower down the list than in the Ageless Intensive's. Somehow the quality of the Retinol they use is higher and more concentrated in the newer treatment as it works quicker so you see results quicker. It evens the skin tone by fading imperfections fast. It reduces fine lines and even deeper wrinkles better than any Retinol Treatment in this price range ($20.00 for each in Walmart.) They both come in a 1 oz pump bottle which is sealable (on/off.) For $40 bucks (day/night treatment) I don't believe you can get a higher quality, quick result producing anti ager. As a matter of fact you can spend much more money (4&5 times this amount) for one product by a prestige brand in Sephora which will not produce these results. With continued use, skin just keeps getting better. Highly recommended. I would not be w/out them both!
I've an addendum here: It is part of Neutrogena's Rapid Wrinkle Repair Series: Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum. I love serums in general (Retinol containing) as they concentrate the active ingredient (s.) In this case it is the new Accelerated Retinol SA and Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid binds hundreds of times it's weight in water w/out being greasy, heavy, occlusive or emolient. It's also an expensive ingredient as is the Retinol. That however, is not the only reason I like serums: I like them as they set quickly and allow you to apply something else w/other benefits on top, without getting thick and greasy and this serum dries to a filmlessness which makes it even more special. Now, if you wanted a super dose of Retinol apply this serum under this Retinol product. Watch out that your skin can take it. You may not be able to tolerate the continued use of this right off the bat. Just use it this way, a couple of times a week and seperate by a few days. My skin is tough as it is used to Retin-A and my favorite Rx skin product Tazorac Gel. I still like this serum under my Ole Henriksen Truth Revealed Super Cream w/SPF 15. This way I'm getting concentrated Retinol along with stabilized Vitamin C and other ingredients (peptides) which also work on lines and wrinkles. This cream I've reviewed elsewhere under the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum (Vitamin C), sort of the way I've snuck this in as there was no Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum listed here yet as also the Ole Henriksen Cream mentioned here. I can't say enough about this Neutrogena Serum and it's counterparts within this somewhat newer Neutrogena Line. Best Retinol based products for the price, and then some!!!

I am in love with this stuff. I'd thought that retinols weren't for me even though every skin specialist and even DR Oz recommends says that every woman should be using them. I'd tried PTR with disastrous results, and Skinceuticals which didn't agree with my skin and was expensive.
This Neutrogena product is reasonably priced, readily available, has a nice texture and smell. But the best thing is what it's doing for my skin! The texture is unbelievably smooth, discolorations are disappearing, no breakouts or irritation, fine lines around my eyes are much less apparent. I use one pump every night after cleansing and sometimes add moisturizer over top if I feel parched. There was a bit of flaking after about 5 days, but that's gone away. None of the redness, breakouts, or itchy feeling I had with the PTR.
To sum it up- love this and will keep buying as long as they keep making it.

Hi, I just purchased this product today so this isnt a review. I was wondering if you could use this product under your eyes? I know they make an eye cream as well, but is it really neccessary to purchase the seperate eye cream? Or does the eye cream other anti-puffing agents I do not know about?
****EDIT: After comparing the ingrediants of this moisturizer with its partner eye cream I noticed that these products have the exact same ingrediants in the exact same order TILL you get to the 18th ingrediants and then after that its still the same ingrediants but in a different order! So...I dont know if that makes much of a difference but I am going to start using this stuff under my eyes and see if it works!

First I have to address a comment made by another reviewer about the way this product sits on your skin. It's important to note the proper way to use a retinol treatment. You should only use a small amount but use it regularly. This will give you consistent results with little irritation and the product will sink into your skin the way it's supposed to.
Here is why I love this treatment after two months of use:
No irritation
My acne is greatly improved
My discoloration has gone down
My fine lines are diminished
The packaging ensures that the product won't go bad by exposed to light
Slight drawbacks
I'm not sure how this would work on deeper creases
This is no substitute for an eye cream
On really dry skin days you may need an additional moisturizer

I know, I know, I'm going to get a lot of flack for only being 20 years old and using this product. But hear me out. I'm a firm believer in the saying, "It's easier to prevent than it is to cure." which is why using this product is essential for me. The retinol in this product does wonders for my dull skin and acne scarring, and I love waking up to my face feeling nice and hydrated the next morning. The idea that this product is ALSO helping me fight/prevent wrinkles is just an added bonus for me. Ladies in their early 20’s, don’t be afraid to use this product. It really is lovely, and you won’t regret it! Promise~

They must have re-vamped this product, it now comes in a tube and says "accelerated retinol" on it and it's AMAZING! Not greasy, smells great!! My all time fave retinol product AND it's strong because if I get flakey sometimes.

Nice night cream! I use every other day to avoid over drying and I do not want my face to get use to the amount of retinol in the product. Has a slight smell...but not to bad. For $20 it is a great effective anti-aging product.

While I don't really have deep wrinkles, I do have some visible lines, especially on my forehead. I purchased this mainly because I wanted to try a mild, night time OTC retinol product. It's only been a week and I am convinced that retinol is exactly what my maturing skin needs. I look brighter, fresher and more "plump." I have been using this at night together with the Olay Regenerist serum for moisture and a tone corrector with SPF for daytime. So far, I LOVE the results. I will update my reviews of these products in a few weeks, it takes time to see the effects.

I love all Neutrogena products. Neutrogena Voluminous Mascara is one of the best I have ever used.
What puzzles me is that at 58 years of age, many women posting on here are in their 20s and 30s. I don't think this product is for your age group. Use a good moisturizer at your young age and hopefully you can avoid the dilemma us late 50 somethings are dealing with.
I have enough wrinkle repair products to fill a bathtub. This works very well for a drugstore product. I have always been convinced that the budget priced drugstore products will be just as good as the high dollar products.
Remember, the BEST product out there for you younger women and men in particular, is SPF! Fake bake if you want a tan. Growing up in the 50's and 60's, we were unaware of sun damage. ALWAYS use your sunscreen.
