I have a love/hate relationship with this product. I bought it months ago when it first came out and, in light of the positive things it does, have been experimenting with it ever since. I said I'd re-purchase, but I'm truly on the fence about that.
So, for context -- I've got shoulder-length, layered, fine-medium, dishwater blond hair and lots of it. It's changing in odd ways -- it's been developing strong waves but only at the BACK OF MY HEAD; the top, front, and sides of my hair is straight to weakly wavy. It's bizarre. I've battled with slippery hair and hair that lays flat at the root all my life.
The good - it definitely counteracts the flatness at the root, providing body/lift there regardless of the weather, including the dreaded humidity.
The bad - although I've experimented with quantity (and too much leaves a gritty residue -- yuk - on your hair), it makes my hair tough to deal with. . . as in blowdrying it literally produces an odd, fuzzy brillo pad look. . . what you'd imagine Larry from the Three Stooges would look like if he stuck his finger in a socket.
I'm trying to use it with other things - before, after, mixing - and have yet to find a good cocktail. I have managed to mitigate the brillo pad effect, but my hair seems to lack elasticity/flexibility with this stuff -- you know that helmut head you can get if you use too much hairspray? It's that firm -- not that hard, but that firm. I've weaned myself from hairspray for about a year now, but I'm not anxious to replace it with any helmut, no matter how wind-blowable it is. I'll update if I can find the right cocktail, but for this price, I'm thinking this is not the product for me.
Tips -- too little will do nothing; too much will be gritty. If you look at Bumble's youtube videos, they use about a quarter on my length hair. I'd start between a dime and nickle and build from there. It's VERY STICKY - don't try to apply to dry hair; your hair needs to be wet. Emulsify it after putting your blob in your palm by rubbing your hands together. If you want lift at the root, be careful not to apply too much in one spot. I don't know what improvement Bumble's Prep might have in using this product -- they always use it first. I'm not willing to commit to purchasing two products indefinitely just to make this one work for me.

Not 100% sure if it's this product alone I love...but I used it w/ PhytoVolume Actif and it made a drastic difference on the texture of my hair. I was so happy with it. I would highly recommend for fine hair! :)

Yay, does what it says it will. I have quite heavy asian hair but it's not thick, some layers and a very slight wave. Just past shoulder length. When it was shorter and more layered surf spray worked well to kick out the ends but as my hair got longer, surf spray didn't seem to do much but make my hair "rough". Texture really brings out the wave. I twist my hair as it's drying and I get a couple of loose ringlets at the front with Texture and some wave at the back. It does kill any shine but you can't have everything. Also, added bonus, I can skip washing my hair the next day (usually wash it daily) as it seems to absorb any oil. Does add volume. Don't bother using it on dry hair, won't work. dampen your hair with a spray first.
It does make my hair feel clumpy and sticky so what I do is apply a decent amount (a streak across my palm) work my hair (put it in a loose bun - i can just tie a knot and it holds with Texture, let it down, scrunch it, twist it, put it in a bun etc) as it's drying. then when it's pretty much dry, rake it with my fingers to "break up" the stiffness. I don't recommend brushing - your hair will turn into a bush.
it's £22 in the UK which is pricey but okay for something that actually works. And you do get a lot of product - about the size of a very large tube of toothpaste.

I have half straight / half wavy heavily highlighted hair. This is the first product that did not leave me w/ frizzy hair & didn't leave me a tangled mess. Gave me tousled waves & volume & think this product would work for me on days I want to air dry. What I didn't like is the price - pretty steep. I didn't realize how little I would use (the size of a large pea) not to mention I only wash my dry hair 2 maybe 3x a week and may not use this product all three days. so going thru the large tube for $26 is going to take me forever & a day. I could see if you do hair for a living & would use this multiple times a day but If you are like me, consider the purchase of the smaller tube which sephora does not seem to carry. Ugh. Overall I liked but took lippies off cuz of the price.

I have long black pitch straight hair and I love the beachy, tousled, wavy hair look. After loving the surf spray, I gave this a try and I loved it. I applied a quarter size of the product on my damp hair and then spray some shine spray, let it air dry a bit and then tie my hair in a bun and sleep on it. In the morning, I wake up to beautiful tousled waves without the use of a flat iron. My hair feels thicker and volumized without the stickiness. I get compliments all the time! If I really want to get more curly-messy look, I apply the surf spray as well when my hair is damp.

I have been searching for ANY styling creme that does not have a fragrance. This is it! Plus is actually does what it says is it supposed to. This gives my hair texture and body. I have short, fine, color treated hair. I am so excited to find it!
When I use it I really emulsify it in my hand prior to putting it in my hair. I really like to use it on dry hair. It is great to use to let my hair air dry. Normally, it ends up stick straight if it air dries, now it is full of texture.

I'm currently using a sample of this I got from my stylist and I really do like it a lot. My hair is wavy when I put product in it and leave it be, but straight if I blow dry while pulling my fingers through it. It's heavily layered with the longest layer falling to just above my bra strap and the shortest about shoulder-length. This product gives my hair tons and tons of texture. Not that scrunched 80s look and not a messy I-haven't-brushed-my-hair-in-2-weeks look either. It's what the bottle says it provides: a finished "undone" look. The lift it gives at the root is fantastic and I can't believe I can actually put this product on my roots without them becoming greasy. Normally when I air dry, my hair looks ridiculous--flat and lifeless on top, somewhat frizzy and just...bad. With Texture, though, I can put it in damp hair, tousle it around a bit, make sure I get my roots and let it air dry. This is going to be such a lifesaver in the summertime when the thought of a hot blowdryer makes me cringe.
The end result after using this product is a lot like B&b's Surf Spray, but, for me, better. Surf Spray tends to leave my hair very sticky, impossible to get my fingers through, and very messy in the back by the end of the day. Texture gives me more waves and the same body as Surf Spray, but I can get my fingers through it and it never looks messy, even after mussing with it all day--it just looks "undone" and natural.
Overall, Texture gives fantastic body, lift and texture. I cannot wait to use it in the summer when the full-on beachy look is more appropriate. The price is hefty, but I'll pay it when my samples run out.

I was surprised by how much I like this. I have long straight layered hair with natural body; it's fine but there is a ton of it. I don't mess with tools, and the only real styling I do is to pin my hair up with damp so it's wavy and beachy when I take it down. Obviously product helps with that but I have a hard time finding one that doesn't weigh my hair down or turn it into a sticky, uneven clump.
Kiehls formula 133 has always been my fave in terms of giving my hair soft non-sticky waves, but I thought I'd give this a shot. And.... I like it a lot. It works best on damp hair because it dries more naturally. However, I've used it a few times on the last six inches of my hair dry and it still left my hair in beautiful waves that lasted all night. What's especially nice is that the waves stayed after I brushed any stiffness from my hair. Usually that kills all effect, but not with Texture.

I bought this product mainly because I've used Bumble and Bumble products in the past and liked them so I thought I'd give it a shot. I have very short, spiky/messy hair so you'd think this product would be perfect for me. However, it didn't have any "texturizing" qualities whatsoever. A good texturizer should have a stickiness feel to it but not leave the hair sticky. This stuff is not very sticky and left my hair feeling like I put gel in it, making it stiff and giving it no texture. I'm glad I bought the trial size bottle and didn't waste my $$$ on the full size!

This stuff is very similar to the surf spray with the hairs final outcome, but its just easier, and hair usually comes out nice no matter what when using it.
I already have wavy curly hair and this product feels like thats what its meant for, it gives you the beach waves, but it helps give lift to your hair, makes it feel thicker, allow movement but hold. The one thing i can see people dislike would be that it leaves the gritty-ness in your hair, like the beach... (and like what the bottle says ) So make sure if your buying it, since it is pricey, to make sure you want that type of texture for your hair..
This is great now, but when summer comes itll be even better!

Damn, Bumble & Bumble! I really didn't want to like this because I don't want to spend more $. I was hoping I'd hate it. Alas..unfortunately and luckily that didn't happen. It made my long, straight shaggy hair tons of body and texture.
I don't understand other reviews bother applying on dry hair & complaining about the disastrous result! B&B specifically instruct you to use it on damp hair. Duh!

HG. I've found it.
This product that gives my fine, thin, limp hair some texture, body and volume, grip and memory - and best of all - I can just air dry my hair with this product in it - which I NEVER do. My hair - if left to air dry and sometimes even when I blowdry- will fall flat - my layers look horrible, I have no natural wave, it's flat and fine.
This stuff is amazing. (it makes my hair look like I have that Drew Barrymore natural wave - and when you have straight hair and don't want to spend your morning curling/damaging my hair - this is amazing!
It's meant to be worked into damp hair - and then either air dried or used with a diffuser. (if you round brush this out - you get just great volume and grip and memory.)
Figuring out how much or how little you need for your hair - has a slight learning curve - but after 3 uses - I know how much I need and where to put it and let me tell you it makes my 2nd and 3rd day hair look outstanding!!!!
I could never get to 3rd day hair without it looking like a grease ball - even with dry shampoo.
Getting it to your roots - is key to a natural lift - but working it into your ends and layers really helps to define waves. Scrunch your hair a bit as it dries to help the areas that you want to really have a wave.
I think that this product works amazing on my collar bone length layered hair. If you use to much - it can get crunchy - but as the product dries and as you handle your hair is softens - it so amazing!
This makes my hair have hold, body and soft waves - no greasy head. I FREAKING LOVE THIS STUFF.
Start out with a less than you think you need - work it in to your hands (it can feel very glue like at first) - you can always go back for more product if you need to

Oh my gosh! I LOVE this product!!!!! From the reviews so far, I'm going to guess that this one is more for the curlies and wavies. I agree that it is sticky (the 2nd ingredient is sorbitol), but that goes away when the hair is dry. When my hair is wet, I make sure to tousle at the roots so I have volume when dry. The product really holds the curls together nicely. Even though it boasts more of a satin or matte finish, my hair was still shiny. I used a spray leave-in (that has heat & UV protectant), Texture, then a curl holding hair spray. Only those 3 products, and my hair held all day, had volume at the roots, felt soft, and resisted humidity.
It did take me a couple of uses to find the correct amount of product for my hair. I have 3a/3b curls (bra strap length) and I used 2 "squirts" the size of penny to a nickel... I have a hard time converting product amount to comparative objects :)... I don't really like the cap/dispenser of this product, but I've had no problem with leaking. (Please note, that when you twist the cap to close, a little more product does come out of it.) For you Curly Girls out there, this product does have dimethicone in it. However, it is about midway or toward the end of the ingredient list. I definitely recommend that curlies/wavies use a leave-in of some sort with this.
The smell is sort of oceany. That fits the product well, because I would describe my curls when using this product as "beachy". I would buy again!

I really like this product. It gives me nice, natural looking curls (my hair's already wavy) and adds great grip. Gives me the coveted just-been-to-the-beach looking I've been trying to get down for years. The only real complaints I have are that it does nothing for frizz and the packaging is terrible. It just kind of leaks out everywhere.

I bought this because I love Bb products and there was so much hype for this product. It's VERY sticky. I may as well have put glue in my hair....this did add body, but my hair looked like I was back in the 80's. This is also very difficult to wash out. I did try mixing with grooming creme...not much better. A Bb purchase I do regret.

I was excited to try Bb's new product, Texture: the Hair (un)dressing Creme. I am underwhelmed. My hair is in a pixie cut and it's wavy, fine but I have a lot of it. I have tried many, many hair products. I thought Texture would give it texture (duh) and some lift (think Halle Berry's style) plus moisture. First, the good: Texture feels good going on damp hair. It does provide some "grip" without making the hair feel dirty (a la Jonathan Dirt - ugh). The scent is light and negligible, unlike the strongly-scented Bb. sumo tech. Now, the bad: I am just not pleased with the results. I don't think Texture is emollient enough for my hair. It's definitely better that using nothing at all on my hair but it ends up feeling kind of dry. I've tried layering Texture with Kiehl's leave-in conditioner and with Bb. grooming creme, but I haven't been happy with those results, either. I'll try layering with other items. I think Texture might be better for someone with longer hair who just wants a little something to provide grip.
