I haven't worn liquid foundation for years but decided to try this out and I love it. I set it with the MK pressed powder and it lasts all day with no oxidation. Love it! The MK rep is very nice and knowledgable.

When I first put this foundation on, it looks great. I build the coverage up. After awhile, it really wears off, looking very trashy and gross.

I received a handful of samples of this foundation from my local MK rep. Having used MK foundation in the past (cream-to-powder in Ivory 6, which oxidized to a ghastly grey-tinged hue by midday), I wasn't holding out a lot of hope but tried it one day when I wasn't going anywhere just to see how it would measure up. I applied it with a wedge sponge and, after it set, lightly misted and tapped over that with a sponge.
Imagine my surprise when the beige 3 was not only a perfect match for my skin but, after 4 hours, had not turned grey and, even more shocking, after 8 hours still looked fresh and hadn't settled into every real and imaginary pore and fine line on my face.
I also tried the TW Luminous foundation but overall liked this formulation much better, perhaps because I tend more toward oily than dry.
I'd advise anyone looking for a good reasonably-priced foundation to get a few samples of this from an MK rep. As I said on a couple of other MK product reviews, in my opinion, MK has improved by leaps and bounds since 10 years ago and their newer formulations are definitely worth another look if you haven't used it in awhile.

I normally wear Mac Select Spf 15 foundation in NC42 & I love it, but have been looking for a cheaper alternative. I was shade matched by a Mary Kay consultant today & I wear Beige 8. I don't know what's in this stuff, but it looks flawless & matched me perfectly. I was shocked. It really does control shine pretty well & I love the fact that it has anti aging ingredients & is fragrance free. My skin looks natural & the foundation doesn't start to melt off after a while like other brands do. The only con is that it doesn't have spf, but that's not a dealbreaker. I will be purchasing this after my Mac runs out. It's $7 cheaper.

This is my everyday foundation, I have freckles so I need to even out my skin tone everyday, and this is perfect for it, it has medium coverage, enough to even out, and is not cakey or noticeable, I use Beige 4 and is a perfect match. Is not pricey, besides I really like the lady that sells this to me, is a very dear friend of my mom, and long time mary kay seller. Definitely buying again, it delivers a very nice natural finish and sometimes I forgot to set with powder, but it doesn't matter, the finish is still matte, try it if you have combo skin.

I wanted to love this foundation bc I love mk products and was excited to try a matte liquid foundation for my oily skin. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. Pros: great packaging, reasonably priced, great color match.
Cons: I broke out within a week after I started using this product.
I can't pinpoint what in it caused my breakouts as it is geared toward oily combo skin but it caused severe acne.
Going back to my mk medium coverage foundation. I can never go wrong there.

My mom sold mary kay for a while and i still use it everyday i would buy powder but putting it on top but it makes my face look plastic and buying this is very expensive for cover up. I love it and still have 4 more bottles to go through but when I run out I'm afraid I won't have enough money to buy it unless I get a job...I'm 16 BTW...GREAT product just veryy pricey :)

I use to be a hard-core Bare minerals wearer, but I realized it was wearing off during the day and I was walking around with practically no makeup. I was also wearing a ton of concealer to hid my redness. I went to a Mary-Kay party, tried it, decided to buy it. So happy I did! I love this stuff. Super easy to put on, and I think it gives me a decent amount of coverage that doesn't wear off.
I'm also prone to oily skin and was worried about it melting off my face. No problems here! It stays on and I don't have to use blotting sheets anymore!
I've kept my bare minerals but I doubt I ever go back. I highly recommend!

I love this foundation. I wear the beige 7 and my mom uses beige 5.We both love it I would recommend it. A good tip is for people like me that have oily and darker skin to not use it by its self. With it I also wear powder foundation and blush.

I purchased Beige 3 (I am NC 25ish). Those shades are considered shades for people with pink undertones, yet don't look pink on the skin. I would consider Beige 3 as more of a 'neutral tone with a pink undertone but not a screaming pink....more of a flesh tone. Beige 3 is nice; it doesn't turn my skin pinker or look pink, yet it isn't yellow on my skin.
I really like this foundation. It is medium to full coverage...yet buildable so you can make this medium OR full. I would recommend using an oil-free moisturizer w/ this since it is matte. Also, I use primer after my oil free moisturizer. It looks fabulous when I use my foundation brush. I think you should try this with concealer AND WITHOUT concealer. I prefer it on me WITHOUT concealer since it is a matte finish. Also, I use a transc.light finishing powder INSTEAD of a heavy/matte type finishing powder because that would be TOO HEAVY....imo.
I am very oily especially in my t-zone but this holds me about 8 hrs WITHOUT even blotting and that's like lifesaving for my oily skin. It has a natural look too, it's not too heavy or powdery but I do believe that's all in the application of THIS makeup. Highly recommend. I've been wearing EL Double Wear and to me the EL is too heavy, too powdery and too matte finish, this Mary Kay is more 'breathable' more natural and not too makeup 'clay face' looking.

Let's distinguish between the 2 foundations first. Matte-wear is for people with oily skin, where as the luminous wear is for people with dryer, dehydrated, perhaps aging skin. Both are oil-free though! With the matte-wear your natural oils are inevitably going to come out, but the luminous wear gives you a sheen to mimic your natural oils, so not good for oily skinned folks like me! My MK rep said that people should treat oily skin, this is very true. All along I thought I had dry skin because of my flakes, but I was wrong. I have oily skin, with flakes, which is a skin type haha. So I was treating my skin with thicker potions, which were breaking out my skin and not helping at all with my dry patches, and I was confused, very confused. I actually do have oily skin (yay! less prone to wrinkles) but with eczema tendencies. Dry patches solved! Anyways now on to the foundation.
I originally started using this last spring/summer, and back then I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. I think it was because I was putting too much on, and not applying it the correct way (stippling with a sponge). Doing this didn't cover my imperfections, so I decided to apply more concealer which just made my skin look caked and oily, not exactly attractive eh. I just recently realized that I don't even need concealer with this. I apply this to moisturized, and primed skin with MK's foundation brush. I don't know much about foundation brushes but if a $12 brush works better than MAC's + $50 one, I don't know what's going on. :P
The trick is to work with parts of your face at once, not all together, and to apply light coats. I probably squirt on a pea-sized amount onto my inner wrist, and dab little dots onto my face, and stroke downwards with the brush from there. Also I thought my colour would have changed from summer to now, but Beige 7 matches me perfectly! In the spring when I didn't have much colour on me, I thought that it was too dark but it was because I was applying too much of the product, problem solved! It went from probably applying a quarter-loonie sized amount, to maybe about 2-3 peas. Application really is the key! Currently I am using this in conjunction with MK's oil-free hydrating gel, and Laura Mercier's hydrating primer. I will update when/if I use an oil-free primer. Currently the oil-free moisturizer/primer and foundation hasn't been working well for my winter skin, but that's because I tried LM's oil-free foundation which is horrible! Lastly a tip that my MK rep told me, since the packaging of this is really easy to cut and not in a jar, you can cut it and scoop out your foundation from there. I was surprised at how much foundation was left - you can probably get a weeks worth out of there. Just cover the 2 tops with plastic wrap so that it doesn't dry up!

It is OK. It is better than some of the foundations at the local drug store, but it cannot beat some of the higher end foundations I use. I would not purchase it again, but would recommend to anyone on a budget. It is a bargain.

So, I bought this foundation with the hopes that it would correct the oil slick that I get in my T-zone. It definitly has great coverage and is a perfect color match for my skin. The only downside is that it is a bit heavy and the matte-ness makes me look old. Too pan-cakey for me.

I love Estee Lauder doublewear foundation. But when I start to lose my summer color, I can never find a good color match. Someone in my office sells MK so I thought I would try. Today is my first day wearing this foundation.
My inital thoughts:
I am happy with the color (beige 3)
I feel that this foundation is light coverage--but I would prefer a little more coverage
Sometimes 'matte" foundations can feel tight and dry but I did not experience this with this foundation
I did experience some oiliness before lunch
Granted, it is just my first day trying this foundation and unless it ends up causing irrititation, I expect to at least finish the tube. For me, it is just ok. I would probably not repurchase.

This really does keep skin matte, the coverage I would say is medium but on the box it said buildable coverage, and I would agree I think you could get light or full depending on how much you use. I have very oily skin and I didn't have to blot for the whole time I had it on (5 hours) I am a nw45 in mac and I got bronze 5 which is an ok match I think I might need 6 though. And the undertone for 5 is orangy, not umpa loompa orange just slightly, anyways good foundation definate repurchase.

This foundation does stay matte, but can make your face look dry and flaky by the end of the day. I have acne-prone and oily skin, usually my t-zone and chin get oily throughtout the day but not when I wear this. I imagine this works even better the more oily your skin is. I like the coverage, I have uneven skin tone and a few red marks that are covered pretty well with this. It matches my skin tone, I have beige 2. And also it doesn't make me break out. The only reason I would not purchase this again is because it can make my face look dried out and flaky. However, I'm going to try mixing it with moisturizer and see if that helps, because I really like this foundation.

It saddens me that this foundation just didn't work for me as it didn't deliver in either finish or longevity. I like the look of matte foundations, but found this one was too matte. It looked harsh and artificial, then after a few hours of wear it started to cake and sink into pores and fine lines. It made multiple attempts with different moisturizers and primers, but nothing seemed to help. This just isn't the right foundation for me. The only positive thing I can say is I did find a good colour match in Ivory 4 for my MAC NC 15 complexion.

Medium Coverage.
Doesn't dry the skin too much and gives off that slight glowy effect. Lasts more than 8 hours without any re-touch.
I have acne prone skin and this didn't give me any breakouts.
Has this slight paint-like smell that fades off quickly after application.
