Overall, this (the combination/oily skin one) is a great foundation that I will probably use for years to come. I wouldn't call it my HG, but it certainly comes close to being that!
I never had a good experience with foundation in the past, so when I decided I wanted to wear it again, I did my research before I bought anything, which led me to this. I like liquid foundation over anything else for sure and I find the consistency to be pretty good, maybe a tad runny, but I don't mind. I know the smell bothers some people and it actually reminds me of the smell of some paints I used to paint sets with when I was younger :P it brings back good memories though, but now you know it smells like paints used to decorate sets for plays. I find it to be pretty blendable though it does tend to get caught around any flakes of skin you may have, and sometimes I find that especially on my forehead it doesn't look great (it's like it's getting caught around flakes of skin, but there aren't any?), but using a primer before and a setting spray after really helps.
I do have acne prone skin and I was using this in the midst of my really bad breakouts and it actually helped me deal with them because it kept my hands away from my face, which was admittedly likely a large part of my breakouts, but for sure it never caused them.
I do find that I look a tad dewy even by mid-day, and for sure once I've gotten to the 10-12hrs after putting it on, my skin looks oily, but I don't really mind. That's never been a big deal for me. It definitely is not a matte all day foundation though, so if that's what you're looking for, you should probably pass this one by.
My one issue, and the reason I took off a lippie, is that I couldn't find the right colour and often ended up mixing Ivory and Buff together, and both were a tad too dark for me, through the winter anyway.
So in summary, good foundation, especially for the price! Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to buy a DS foundation.

This review is for the normal/dry formula.
I use Colorstay a little differently than most. I find it to be too heavy for what my skin really needs (minor acne scarring and some surface redness in my cheeks) so I mix it with moisturizer (lately I've been using Timewise by Mary Kay but you can use anything) and then stipple it on with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. This gives me perfect coverage and, best of all, it doesn't cling to dry patches on my face. I wear this through sweaty double shifts and it doesn't budge. I take it off with micellar water and some sort of oil on a cotton pad at the end of the night just to thoroughly remove it. I highly recommend removing it with an oil based remover just to really break it down. They aren't kidding when they say this stuff lasts and lasts. I, like everyone else, wish it had a pump because I always dump too much out, but otherwise, I think this product is pretty top notch. It is a great value especially on sale or at Target where you can get it for as little as 10 dollars. I've tried lots of foundations and this one really has been the most consistently impressive.

Just bought this for the first time yesterday and I absolutely LOVE this!!!! This is my first time using a long wear foundation, and I have to say, it's amazing!!! I wear 225 natural beige (I'm an nw20) & suffer from acne scarring and redness. The coverage is unbelievable!!! I'm speechless! I love how it still looks like skin & doesn't feel heavy (if you don't apply too much). My new holy grail foundation!!!! Also: incredible oil control & transfer resistance. I'm super oily and had to blot my face twice the entire day.

I haven't worn a liquid foundation in over a decade, and I'd probably not be bothering if it hadn't been for Lisa Eldridge's video series.
I must say, I LOVE this stuff. It's fabulous. It gives great buildable coverage, the #400 Caramel is a perfect match for my NC 42 skin, and best of all it doesn't break me out nor does it turn into a gross oily soup on my face, as had been my previous experience with liquid foundation. I love that there's a separate formulation for Combo/Oily skin (although I still use this with a primer and setting powder).
The only bad thing is the packaging. It just comes in a screw topped bottle. It would be nice to have a pump.

This product does offer wonderful coverage. However, if you don't blend it in super fast, it'll dry in a matter of seconds and good luck trying to get it off. for my skin type, I wouldn't have expected this to dry me out but it really did way way too fast.
I hate the way my face feels after I apply it. It feels like superglue. I think it'd be a great foundation for those with extremely oily skin but steer clear if you have dry skin. This stuff is so hard to get off...it feels like spackle. I had to wash my face pretty hard 3 or 4 times just to get it off! I don't think i'd repurchase it but since this is the only foundation that covers my blemishes very well, I'm not left with much of a choice.

I'm 40 years old with combination skin. I bought the oily-combination skin product, but wish I had bought the dry skin product, as this flakes on my dry areas, even in humid weather. I bought the lightest shade which is usually what I have to do with most drug store foundations, and lo and behold, it is actually a tiny bit too light! I will probably do what some of the other reviewers have done and mix it with moisturizer for more blendability as I use up this bottle. May buy the dry skin formula in a shade darker.

I have 3 of the deepest shades available in the oily combination formula 's I have to sag I'm quite impressed. The formula is thick so a little goes a long way. I just wished that it came with some sort of pump so I won't use too much product. This has a lot of staying power. I just moisturize, prime, and apply my foundation with a little bit of Bare Essentials in medium deep and I'm good to go.

It now has a pump! (In Australia anyway). The formula has also changed, no more soft flex components.... but it's still the best long wearing foundation I can find. Pity it costs a crazy $35 in Australia... and they can keep charging that now because we get a pump. Boo!

I'm so torn with this foundation coz I don't wear liquid foundation at all! This was my first attempt and because of all the positive reviews, I went ahead and got myself a bottle. Packaging is not great, would be better with a pump but anyways! This gives some serious coverage even witout concealer! My acne marks were nowhere to be seen with this so I loved it BUT the few times that I've tried this, it oxidises within the hour and I look darker, almost orange! Not a good look ladies! Not only that, but this foundation sinks into my pores so they look massive :( this is so weird because my pores are tiny and I never have problems with it! So I love the coverage but not the oxidisation and sinking into pores thing. I might try a diff way of applying this (I used a beauty blender) and if I have different results I will update. Btw I don't think I broke out with this so that's a plus I guess

I've been using this foundation for almost a year now and I know there's a zillion reviews out there but I might as well make it a zillion and one :) lets get on with it! PACKAGING: I agree it needs a pump just gonna be straight-forward. PRICE: any revlon coupons will definitely come in handy but prices do vary everywhere. SHADES: Wide selection, seems that there are more pink undertones than yellow but the color range is great. COVERAGE: Medium to full but be careful because it can feel heavy and look cakey if you pack it on (Tip #1: work section by section) BLEND-ABILITY: Foundation dries fairly quickly so keep that tip #1 in mind. Does not transfer horribly but it is rather an effort to take it off. (Tip #2: be sure to clean your face thoroughly or you will get blemishes) LONGEVITY: I've worn this through the hottest most humid and coldest, rainiest days of hawaii and it did not budge whatsoever. LASTLY, since this foundation can be heavy on the skin I don't use this as an everyday foundation, some days I like to wear my Garnier oil free bb cream or just my bare imperfect skin just to give my it a break. Well that should cover most of it, ciao toots âĄ

I just finished my first bottle of this and here's what I've decided...
Packing - Needs a pump!
Shade - I got Nude which would fit about a NW 15-20. However, I'm more of a NC20 so I need a shade with more yellow undertones for sure. Come on Revlon! Make us more yellow undertoned foundations!
Pros -
Long-wearing with great oil control! Major plus!
Medium coverage leaning towards full coverage.
Awesome full matte finish. No shininess here!
Cheap!
Cons -
Super, duper, hard to blend. But, if you work in small sections you CAN blend it fast enough before it dries.
However, by the time I get to putting on my under-eye concealer, the foundation has long ago set into an unblendable mess. Seriously, you try to blend a concealer on top of this and it will turn out awful. It gets super patchy around my eyes from my under-concealer which drives me crazy.
Also, it's very transfer resistance. Which is GOOD, yet bad. If you do rub your face against something (husband's shirt...) it won't rub off on him, but the foundation will ball up on your skin and look patchy. It also goes patchy around my mouth where like I smile and stuff sometimes.
Overall -
GREAT foundation IF you have oily skin and don't wear a concealer. Either that or figure out how to blend it somehow with your concealer before it dries. Really, although the cons seem long, the only really bothersome one is blending it with a concealer! >:( Besides that, this foundation gets an A+++ in my book.
P.S. The whipped version is actually what I use now. The blending problem is completely gone - however it's not quite as matte :( Oh well, I guess nothing is perfect!

I have been using this foundation for years. I used to use it daily, which led to me having the worst skin I have ever had. I stopped using it for a year and my skin tone has finally recovered. HOWEVER. The reason why my skin was so bad is because I did not follow a proper facial cleansing routine. Back then, I would use cheap cleansing towelettes and then I would just splash water on my face. Not smart, I know.
A year later, with more even-toned skin and less acne, I am still experimenting with other foundations for my wedding day, BUT I still haven't found one that lasts as long as this one. Mind you, I have a very oily T-zone. This would last all day without primer or setting spray. It does dull a bit around hour 8, but that is pretty good. It has good coverage, and keeps shine away if you use in combination with a setting spray/powder. Lots of different color shades. It dries pretty fast though. I like to apply with the beauty blender. Try it! Its pretty cheap too. You can get it for $9-12 in the States. If you use it, just make sure to cleanse/exfoliate properly!
Also, when I wear for normal work days, I like to mix it with my Olay moisturizer to make it more sheer and less full coverage.

At my local Walmart, this was about $15 but at my local drugstore it was $20, which I would say is rather expensive for a drugstore product. I ended up buying this in the states which was only $9.99 lol. I liked this foundation in the winter, as my skin tends to dry out and at the time my acne and blemishes were very bad, so this helped moisturise my face as well as cover all of my impurities. It kept my face matte for pretty much the entire day. This is an extremely thick, full coverage foundation though. I did not particularly enjoy how heavy it felt on my skin and It isn't very buildable as it can look very cakey on your face. You also have to very careful and put on a very thin layer of this on your face in order to avoid the cakiness. I unfortunately was not aware of this and accidently out a little bit too much on.. And oh boy, it was not pretty. My acne and blemishes have cleared up recently, so the full coverage that comes along with this product has been too much for me. I bought the oily to combination one, but since spring has rolled around, my face has been oilier and this product hasn't really helped with toning that down, in fact I think it made it a bit worse. In a few hours, my nose is an oily mess, not to mention the colour of the product breaking apart and mixing with the oils in my skin (the worst). I don't know if I will buy this product again, if I do, it'll only be because my acne has gotten worse or to use it in the winter time.

I actually bought this foundation at the same time I bought the Revlon whipped foundation which I also really liked. This is a pretty nice foundation. It doesn't feel overly heavy and blended out to an almost matte finish on me. I almost felt like I really didn't even need to apply powder over this foundation to set it, the finish was that nice. Honestly I have to say as far as drugstore products go I have never really had a bad experience with Revlon. I was pretty impressed with this product although for me I think I actually liked the whipped foundation a little bit better but this is a good foundation that I would buy again. Thumbs up.

I have been up and down about this foundation for the past year. I think my final conclusion is that i really really like it.
The foundation is very thick and almost like paint, so of course you MUST get the perfect shade for your skin, thankfully i am very pale and their pale shades are excellent. This foundation cannot just be thrown on without concentrating. You must prime your face very well, moisturise and then apply a very light layer of it to get it to look natural. Most of the time I would mix it with a light moisturiser too just because it can look cakey and dry without.
In saying that, I do adore it. It literally stays on all day. I can sleep in it and wake up with it still perfectly in tact.
The bottle isnt great as people have said but its really not a huge deal
definitely would buy it again (im on my third bottle)
buy this foundation!!!

Holy grail foundation may I say! This foundation is like heaven! It's $10 and has great coverage. But, I've changed over to CG Outlast 3 in 1. I NEED REVLON BACK IN MY LIFE! I have oily skin so I would use the oily/ combination formula. This foundation has a painty scent to it. Not a big fan of that but hardly notice when I'm rushing in the morning. IT LASTS ALL DAY. Obviously why it's called "colorstay". I hug people and they don't get "brown stuff" on their white shirts. This foundation is a dream. The only bad thing I could say about it is that the packaging is poor. Yes, glass bottle. But no pump. (My CG Outlast has one.) And the rim of the spout or whatever gets very dirty and wastes foundation. But besides that, everything pretty nice.

I bought the one for combination/oily skin, since I have that skin type. The bottle is average, no pump, so it makes a bit of a mess. The product is quite thick, and I find that it apples best over a moisturizer. It has great coverage and lasts all day. You have to work with it a bit to blend nicely and make sure it isn't cakey, but if you can apply it correctly, it will look great all day. Anxious to try the combination/dry version because I have heard it isn't as thick.

Iīm one of those girls with mixed undertones that have a hard time finding the right color match: yellow based foundations are usually too yellow, and pink based f. are too pink.
For reference, Iīm close to mac nc20 (but of course itīs too yellow and I canīt use it, apart from mac foundations being too heavy and causing me breakouts). So Iīm delighted with this foundation in 150-buff, as itīs the closest to my skin tone I could ever find.
to my eye itīs a rather neutral light color, with only a litle bit of yellow.
Also the coverage is very good (hides acne discoloration very well), without looking heavy and itīs very longlasting. Itīs true it dries fast, but I donīt find it a problem: I aplly it section by section. Itīs easier to work with fingers tan with brush. I bought the combination skin version and It can be a bit drying, so I may try the normal skin version, next time. I just wish it had a pump.
So I really recomend that you give this a try, as it works better than many expensive foundations that Iīve tried.

The first time I bought this, I found that it broke me out within a few days, which dissapointed me because it was a good color match for my really pale skin, and yes, it lasted all day with a relatively matte finish. But a few months later I have come back to this foundation and when I apply this half and half with my neutrogena oil free moisturizer, it looks amazing! I put a little bit of each on the back of my hand and mix it with a stippling brush and buff it on. It has less of a mette finish this way, but with a light powder application it looks great, lasts all day, and best of all, doesnt look heavy or cakey at all. So try it again if you hated it the first time because you may be pleasantly suprised!

While I'm not currently using this foundation, it is one of my favorites. As the name implies, the staying power is phenomenal, the color match is surprisingly perfect for my really fair, porcelain skin tone, and the finish is gorgeous. I originally purchased this in the Combo/Oily formulation and found that I broke out pretty badly after a few days so I decided to take a risk and return it for the Normal/Dry skin version. Far from breaking me out, I found that both the clarity and texture of my skin improved DRAMATICALLY from using it, so the more I wore this foundation, the less of it I needed. I find the best way to apply is with clean fingers as they're really able to work it into the skin better than either brushes or sponges and with this method of application, I'm able to achieve a really natural look. I don't know, maybe the Combo/Oily version is more mask-y than the Normal/Dry because contrary to what a lot of people have said, this foundation is one of the most natural looking, undetectable ones I've encountered. When I'm wearing it, it doesn't look like I have anything on. Rather, my skin just looks naturally flawless, even in direct sunlight. I don't find the lack of a pump to be annoying: I just put my middle finger over the opening and dot it onto my face that way, being sure to work in sections as it does dry pretty quickly. I set this with a light dusting of translucent powder and am good to go all day, no touch-ups required. Truly a great, staple product that's very versatile: it can be built up to very full coverage or sheered out to the lightest of washes. I'm sure I'll come back to using it once I've gotten bored of my Vichy BB cream.
