I've been using Tazorac for about 3 years. Last year my derm moved me up to the .1 strength which was fine in the summer but wreaked havoc on my skin in the winter. Instead of looking younger, I looked older from the dry and flaky skin. Putting on foundation become a chore and I was making my skin worse by using scrubs to remove the flakes. This year I decided to change my foundation to MAC Studio Sculpt w/ SPF 15...it helped but I needed more. That's when I found Cetaphil's RESTORADERM Skin Restoring Moisturizer. Within a week my skin is moist with no flakes or cracks. My foundation looks flawless again and I can use the Tazorac without issue. Great product!

Okay, so I used my retin-a last night which I haven't used in a while. I used Cetaphil cleanser last night before applying my retin-a. This morning, woke up and washed my face with Cetaphil cleanser for normal to oily skin (I have both cleansers). Anyway, afterwards I applied Clique Moisturizing gel, then proceeded with my normal makeup. OMG, my skin was SO tight and aggravated. I realize I put my skin through a lot of drying w/ the retin-a, although I wouldn't expect one night to make much difference. Then I thought maybe it was the Cetaphil cleanser for oily skin- I like that product, but never used it consistently because I remember it being drying. I want to continue using it though and see what happens because I read some good reviews on here. I immediately ran to Rite-Aid and picked up this lotion. I'm a little freaked out though because it's not oil free, and I'm prone to breakouts with oily/combination skin, but very sensitive skin at the same time. I've been off and on of retin-a for years and have had skin problems since as long as I can remember. Although, it's not bad really, just aggravating because at 28 I feel like I shouldn't have to deal with stubborn skin and breakouts anymore. There is a couple of weeks out of the month where my skin is flawless but for the remainder it's a mess. I also don't have atopic skin or severely dry skin, so I'm not sure if this product is for me but I was desperate and my skin needed immediate relief. I knew none of my oil of olay products or gel lotions would do the trick, so I bought this on a whim, but again, a little nervous since it's not for acne prone skin. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best. I hope this is the product for me and will cure my sensitive yet oily/acne prone skin. I've tried everything else out there so we will see. I'll post an update in a few days, in case there is anyone like me out there struggling to find the perfect lotion for their face. I will say, I washed my face as soon as I got home, applied this lotion and feels good so far. My face is definitely not tight anymore, again worried about breakouts though :( Oh yeah, I rated a three since I don't know yet how this will work for me.

I can't believe I'm saying it, but I *love* this moisturizer.
Throughout my sensitive-skin life, I have been very unimpressed with Cetaphil. Their famous cleanser left a gross film on my face, while their body cream left me sticky and clammy-the body cream in particular I kept trying to love for some reason, but it wasn't meant to be.
I discovered this cream while visiting a friend-she and I have always had reactive skin together, and I was curious about this new product. At first I tried it on my hands and immediately loved the texture-creamy and soothing with no smell, and upon arriving home I sought out a bottle. During this time I was using Vanicream, which while a fabulous moisturizer, did not leave lasting hydration.

Price and Packaging: The price is not bad, I pay about 13$USD and the bottle lasted quite a while (about two months while using it twice a day everyday on face, and on trouble spots for body ((I use another brand on body))). The packaging is a nice pump system, so no unhygienic tubs, but unfortunately when you're low and the pump will not work, you have to spend a short while shaking the living daylights out of the tall thing to get the amount you want. The product itself is not thin so it's not going to slide out. Here is where I think the moisturizer "Vanicream" has the advantage-it's a tub with a pump, so when it does get low it's not a pain to get the last bits. It's a small disadvantage but kind of annoying. The bottle itself by the way, and I know it's weird, has a very pleasing texture to it, lol. It's kind of interesting, unless they're trying to subconsciously let you know this is a "gentle" product, versus something slick and harsh. (Wow I thought too much about this...)
Performance- Out of all the moisturizers I've tried, and I've tried a lot; Eucerin, Atopalm, philosophy, Vanicream, Ponds, Aveeno, Olay, and La Roche Posay, none of them have left my skin feeling soft and hydrated like this moisturizer has for the whole day. Vanicream I thought was great, until it got cold, and then it lasted maybe a few hours and I'd have to reapply. Which is not a good thing in my work environment. Cetaphil lasts much longer, probably around 6 hours in very cold weather (with an added sunscreen), and 8 in cool.
I get bumps around my jaw line and in my eyebrows when my skin is dry and irritated-with this moisturizer they are nearly gone on the jaw and much less in my eyebrows. The lines near my jaw have also gone down.
On warmer days, I did find this felt a tad heavy, and then later found small breakouts on my nose. But for me I'd rather take that than days where I'd wake up and the rest of my face would be so tight it would hurt to smile.
One thing I will say, after applying this you DO need to let it set in for a few minutes. Even with my skin, which usually soaks moisturizers in fast, has to wait a few minutes to soak in. So, apply the moisturizer, then make the bed/have breakfast/whatever you need to do, and then go to the next step.
Recently I have started putting this on my hands, I work in an aquatic laboratory and my hands often encounter water-which with the cold weather has left excema patches on my knuckles. Putting Cetaphil on takes away the itchiness and tightness, but it's too soon to tell on the "healing".
If you have sensitive/dry skin, I highly recommend this moisturizer to you. It really is a fabulous product that can be used just about anywhere you need it. It lasts a long time, there's no irritating smell or hidden fragrance (that I recognize at least), and the price is not terrible at all when you think of how important your moisturizer is and how much they can be. Thanks for reading xx

This has officially become my HG body lotion and facial moisturizer. I have very dry skin and tend to get dry patches on my face in the winter months and my Aveeno moisturizer seem to do a decent job at first, however, earlier this year I suddenly started getting Eczema on my face. After enough googling I decided to switch to this as well as using the Cetaphil face wash. This has been so amazing for my skin!! Anytime I notice dry skin coming up I apply more on that area and the next day its gone. I definitely recommend this for people who have very to extreme dry skin because not only does it give lasting moisture but also help heal and repair your skin from dryness. Also, I find that I get a nice glow with this moisturizer so this is not for those with oily skin. Not cheap but worth every penny!

I've only used this for one day so i'll edit this review if anything different happens! I used to have terrible eczma as a child but it completely disapeared till now. Coming back with a vengence, it has made my body so very dry and itchy! In fact, it was getting so ridiculously itchy that i could not sleep at night while i controlled myself not to scratch! Anyway, i went into a chemist today and they recommended this. I bought it in conjunction with the body wash too (both of them equalled to about $40 AUS). After showering, i slathered this all over and i found that it did kind of sting a bit (the body wash did too) but it quickly died down and was fine. So far, the itching has subsided mostly but i can't be sure if it'll continue... We'll just have to wait and see! But for now, if this product works the way it does, i would give it 4 lippies! :)

EDIT: 21/09/11 - The itching still went on but now the rash is healing slowly. I'm not sure if it was the use of this cream or time though :| On the other hand, i accidentally used this as a face moisteriser one time and it seemed to be better than the usual moisteriser i use! I kept on using it for the past week or so and my face is slightly clearer (I have acne and dark scars) and less prone to new blemishes forming :D For that, it had retained the 4 star rating!

This is my HG facial moisturizer!!! I have normal/dry, very clog/acne prone skin and this product is PERFECTION. i have NEVER once had a breakout or clog...it is extremely soothing and gives my skin the perfect amount of moisture. Also this is not greasy. I just can't say enough good things about it! The only downfall is the price. It is expensive for a drugstore product but you do get a decent amount. I will repurchace this forever!

I bought this in conjunction with the Restoraderm facial/body wash. Although I liked the facial wash I did not feel the same about this moisturizer. The consistency is very thin which is a good thing because it doesn't feel heavy on your face. However, I felt it wasn't moisturizing enough for my skin thus, leaving my skin feeling dry after a few short hours. I ended up bringing around the bottle to reapply after a couple hours but it still didn't do the trick. I was hoping that this product would help my eczema but didn't, at times seem to make my skin even more irritated and red. I like the packaging though cause you can turn the nozel to lock the pump so if you have it in your bag product doesn't go everywhere.

No, this isn't cheap for a drugstore brand, but it is worth every penny. I have eczema and I use this after showering with the companion body wash and it is so moisturizing and soothing. Bye, bye dry patches! I haven't tried to use this on my face--I am prone to acne, and I believe this contains shea butter, so I probably won't go there. Definite re-purchase for me.

I've had atopic dermatitis (eczema) for as long as I can remember and have used Rx creams along with Eucerin, Lubriderm, other Cetaphil products, etc. Up until recently those lotions worked decently. However, lately my skin has been REALLY stubborn. So I heard about Cetaphil's Restoraderm and after 2 days of use my skin has shown improvement! I'm so enthralled by this product! I hope the results last. It was about $14 at my local drugstore (in SD). The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 out of 5 for overall rating is the fact that it stung a bit when I first applied it. I’m not sure whether or not this is typical… so this may not happen for you. Anyway, if you’re struggling to find a moisturizer I would definitely recommend giving this product a try. (Too bad Cetaphil doesn’t give samples of their products. There’s nothing worse than buying a lotion only to find out it does absolutely nothing!) Oh, I should also mention when I use this product I dampen the dry spots of my face with a bit of water, and then place a generous amount of lotion over the same areas. I use enough lotion to leave my skin feeling slightly tacky; after 10 minutes or so my skin absorbs the moisturizer. I also started using a humidifier at night along with the lotion, but I’m pretty sure it’s the lotion that been causing the improvement in my skin.

Let's just say the sales assistant thought the price was coming up wrong on her register when she put this through. At NZ $51 for a small bottle, I bought this based on the fantastic reviews hoping it would be my miracle cream to save me from the third trimester pregnancy full body itch as I had tried everything else. Does it work, yes. But would I put it on a baby or child with eczema, no. It really stings upon application but does leave your skin incredibly smooth, and has become my night face cream also as I can't use retinol. I suppose the money could ultimately be worth it as it also leaves my cracked feet and sore hands in much better condition. I may possibly end up repurchasing but I'm still chaffing over the ridiculous price tag and I really do not like the stinging sensation.

our dermatologist gave us a sample for my daughter who has excema since the age of 2. She is 13 and reported this is the BEST lotion she has ever felt on her skin. No burning, stinging and it helps heal the cuts on her hands. Unbelievable lotion!!!

This is the perfect moisturizer if you dry our your skin with anti-aging and acne products. After just one night my skin was transformed from rough, bumpy, and red, to smooth and soft. I only use it at night, so I cannot comment on how oily your skin might be if used during the day.

This also stopped the itching on my legs and left my usually rough elbows super soft! This is the best Cetaphil product yet. I think I paid about $10 for this at CVS.

This is expensive stuff considering you buy it in a drug store and it's not a big bottle but when it comes to properly moisturizing eczema-prone skin, this stuff can't be beat! Twenty-four hours later after applying it to my arms and legs, my skin is still smooth and soft. I've never experienced that with any other body lotion. This stuff is worth its wait in gold.

I've been on several prescribed medications for acne and while I no longer HAVE acne, I still use the products (preventatives....!) so my face and neck are quite dry and flaky. My derm gave me a sample of this and the body wash, and while I haven't used the body wash, I used my entire sample of the lotion as a night moisturizer for my face and neck! It's amazing. No dry patches, no acne, and I loved how LONG the sample lasted me! (over a month!) SO I went out and purchased a full size and LOVE it. I wouldn't have thought to put this on my face but hey - it works, so I'm not going to complain!

I tried this on some severely dry patches on my cheeks after using a really strong acne medication. My cheeks felt so soft after a couple days of using this! The only problem is it didn't help with my acne, I got a couple of breakouts after using it. Overall it is great for moisturizing and reducing flakiness, but I use it sparingly so I don't get anymore breakouts.

The reason why I am giving this 2 lippies is because I have tiny red bumps and a number of small white heads on my face now after using this. I have changed nothing in my skincare regimen except for the moisturizer and i'm pretty sure this is causing it. The sunflower oil in it is probably the main cause of it.

I have very sensitive skin and I am using retin A so i need something to moisturize my face very well. This does a good job but I find myself still looking shiny with this on.

The good thing about this is that it is good to use on your body. The body wash isn't bad either.

I will go back to using First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream

I have a whole drawer full of products to moisturize my hands, and most don't work. But Restoraderm really DOES work. It's the best thing I've found to date to add moisture in our dry Colorado environment. It is expensive, but I'll continue to buy in instead of acquiring another batch of products that I only throw away later.

An Excellent combination to my retin-A regime for acne. It combats the dryness and does not cause my oily skin to break out. I highly recommend this to any one currently using prescription acne creams.

UPDATE- Think I spoke to soon about this stuff because my skin has become extremely oily from this. However it didn't cause me to break out. I'm currently trying out Complex-15 facial creme and hope I fair better. I will continue using this from the neck down only :(

UPDATE- I have fallen in LOVE with this again. The key to making this work for oily skin is to apply a PEA SIZE amount on slighty DAMP skin. I find by using this method my skin abosorbes it faster.
