NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base is my favorite eye primer. The only thing I dislike about this is the price: $24 for 0.26 oz. It works very well. But because of the price, I have gone into Sephora many times to replace this item after running out, and then I end up buying something more fun instead. It's like putting that loaf of bread back on the shelf at the supermarket and using that money for an impulse buy like candy. This product doesn't provide the thrill you get from a new lipstick. It's a primer, after all. But it helps eyeshadows and eyeliner stay put without creasing or fading or transferring for hours. It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, and some of the other brands I've tried have. I like Urban Decay Primer Potions, too, but this is the one I usually reach for even when I have both. The NARS base is completely invisible when dry. The texture isn't sticky but shadows cling to it. However, because of that, you have to be a bit better at blending. I'm a fan of the convenient packaging; it's a tube with a doe's foot applicator.

This stuff is amazing. I had been using UDPP for years and years (w/Tarte 360 creaseless thrown in on occasion) and used to love it, but found that recently it just hasn't been working the same and my shadow was getting all blurred and faded by the end of the day. Tried anti-aging version, which was slightly better but wasn't thrilled. After consistently seeing the NARS primer recommended on the MUB, I decided to go for it. Awesome decision (go me!).

I have dry skin and slightly dry eyelids that can be a bit creasy and crepey. The NARS primer creates a perfect canvas for eyeshadows, both powder and cream, though I have experienced some creasing with cream after 10+ hours of wear. As for use with powder shadows, this can't be beat. As I am writing this review, I am looking at my eyeshadow which looks EXACTLY the same as it did this morning when I put it on--a good 13+ hours ago (without setting powder of fixing spray). This holds shadow in place without hindering blending.

Overall, highly recommended and will keep repurchasing!

I've been using the Nars Pro Prime Smudge Proof for the past six-ish months. I decided to try it out after Urban Decay's reformulation of their Primer Potion stopped working for me. I really like this eyeshadow primer because it prevents eyeshadows from creasing or fading. I'm usually out of the house for 12+ hours and this really helps to keep everything in place all day. It goes on in a thin layer and is transparent so it won't affect the colour of eyeshadow you put over top. It's a little bit pricier than some other alternatives but I would recommend it to anyone with very oily eyelids.

I love this so much. I used to hate wearing eyeliner and eyeshadow because no matter what I did my eyelids got so oily that all of it would ware off. But, with this that's all history. It really does work. I just take my finger and wipe the product off the brush then apply directly to my kids and brow bone. A little goes a long way with this product. $24 is a little expensive , but I've had this for 3 months and I still have a lot of product left, so to me that's worth it.

before i discovered this, i was pretty sceptical about eyeshadow primers. i had only tried the urban decay primer potion and it made my eyeshadow crease like hell after a couple of hours. concealer under my eyeshadow gave me better results, so that's what i used for a long time. i finally got sucked into the hype on this baby, and it's so good. so good. i smudge the doe foot applicator once on each lid, blend it out all over the lid up to the browbone, and my eyeshadow stays in place for the whole day. it's very pricey ($35 aud) but it's worth it. i would repurchase for sure, this is my hg.

Love it! I think it's the best eyeshadow base ever. It is not drying. It does what it's supposed to - keeping your eyeshadows in its place. Honestly it's the best primer I have ever tried. I am not going to re-purchase my ex-favorite UD anymore. Their latest anti-age primer is a nightmare anyway.

This is a really great eye shadow primer, especially if you have oily lids. My eye-shadow lasts throughout the day without creasing or smudging. My only complaint is I wish it would come in a color to cancel out all my veins on my eye lid.

I was using Urban Decay eye primer for a few years, and was never truly satisfied. After an 8 hour workday, my eye makeup was always creasing or half-faded. I was ready to try something new. I received a sample of this and really liked it, I ended up purchasing the full size.

The primer comes with a doe-foot style sponge wand. I find that it is very easy to apply. I usually dab the sponge on my finger tip and spread it on my eyelids with a clean fingertip.

You only need a small amount and it goes a long way. A small dab covers both eyelids. It dries very easily and quickly.

I have used it under both drugstore and high end shadows, and I find the staying power to be fantastic. There are times when I have worked 12-14 hour days, and I come home, and my eye makeup is still in place. very impressed.

I have very sensitive skin and my eye skin area is no different. I have never had any reaction or irritation due to this product.

The stuff is somewhat pricey, but I have been using the same tube for over two months and still have plenty left. I just wish I could see how much is left in the bottle!

I have tried this product for well over a year and LOVE it. If you're going to bother putting on eyeshadow you want it to stay. I have oily lids and this helps it stay all day long.

This product is clear when applied, so it doesn't cancel out veining or anything like that. It also doesn't intensify the color like a white base would. It does, however, make shadow go on smoothly and stay put for well over 14 hrs. I've never really counted the hours.

I'm not a huge fan of the doe foot applicator because I find it unhygienic, but I can look over this. The bottle is also white so you cannot tell how much product remains in the tube.

I love this product. Keeps my upper and lower eyeliner on all day. I use it on my lips too and it keeps my lipstick on even after eating. A little of it goes far. I like the doe foot applicator too.
