Dressmaker, Dressmaker is unfortunately an orange toned coral lipstick that simply didn't work well given the yellow undertones in my skin. The orange tones were simply too garish on me and I looked like a horror story. I really like MAC lipsticks in general but am definitely avoiding this one!

I was initially wanting to purchase Ever Hip- but this was sold out. I thought this was quite a good dupe for it. It is a lovely peachy coral colour, and really works well with my colouring. I wanted to kind of achieve the sunkissed look, and this lipstick was perfect. I love it.

Again, as with most MAC lippies the formulas are not too great – and I always find them drying (yet why do I always flipping buy them!). But with a good buff/moisturise before hand and I am set. I would consider buying this again if I could not get my hands on Ever Hip

This lipstick really surprised me. I wasn't really sure what to expect after reading all sorts of reviews and seeing swatches. My lips are pigmented... they aren't rosy so much as just dark. Dressmaker, dressmaker pulls like a really pretty nude color on me. It's actually surprisingly pretty! It's probably the perfect nude for me out of my entire lip collection. An unexpected love!

I find it very hard to find lipsticks I love, and can stick on without thinking about it as I have quite pigmented pinky red lips and they alter a lot of lipstick colors. I love nude lips as I think they make the whole face look extremely polished when done properly, but there aren't many I can get away with - Creme de Nude makes me look dead, for example. I am really liking Dressmaker, Dressmaker from the recent Pret a Papier collection. In the tube it looks like a creamy peachy-sandy colour, but upon application it is slightly sheerer than expected with more of a nude/coral result. It goes on smoothly and doesn't seem to accentuate dryness, as long as you put balm on first. It is incredibly flattering on both my medium/tan skin and my pigmented lips, and I recommend it to any girls who have the same colouring. It makes my face look groomed and polished and is perfect for work. I was pleasantly surprised by this lipstick as I wasn't that excited over the collection, and have found a gem. Definitely snapping up a couple more before they sell out. It looks particularly nice under Mac Ember Glow lipgloss for a coral beachy look, or Mac Perrennial High Styles lipgoss for a peachy look if you have either of those in your collection!

Sad to say that this is limited edition. Those are my comparison swatches above. Dressmaker, Dressmaker looks a little washed out in the pic, but it is similar to Freckletone, but with a little more pink in it. It is for those warm-toned ladies, as stated below (I am NC25, for reference). It's a lustre formula, but thicker than most lustres. I love this lipstick and would buy it all the time if it were permanent.

This is a very pretty sophisticated true coral. Im giving it 3 lippies only because Made to Order is a better choice for me because its cooler and has less orange tones in it. But for all you warm skinned ladies out there that can wear orange tones this is a must. Its a must have.

I was bummed when I missed out on everhip so I wasn't gonna miss this. Well its ok I guess, a warm coral with some peach. Its a little streaky sometimes, I used my equality lipstick then put this over it with a lip brush, and it was very nice together. I like this color alone with superdupernatual mineralize blush.

Aww. man I really like this lipstick color, when I swatch it, it is a really pretty peach. But my lips are so pigmented that this lipstick changes color ones goes on my lips. It also applies uneven. I wish Mac would come out with a similar color liner to make this lipstick work or a different formula (amplify creme) to have more coverage. The only way that I can make it work is to stick lip erase under it, even that still makes this color muddy. =( Its a geourous color thou!
For reference I am NC37, C4
EDITED: I figured out a better way to wear this lipstick is to use a liner first then use this lipstick. Beautiful!

Well, it's true-- I do collect MAC coral lipsticks, but this one is fab and I'm not just saying that because it's new and LE. It's sheer-ish, but not as sheer as say, Blow Dry was. It's "my lips but coral and better". It's not too bright, a neutral indeed, but very pretty and a tad understated.

This is my first coral lipstick, and I have to say I am really impressed. This is a very warm, muted coral, which makes if very wearable. I wear this often during the day and I think it is lovely without being overpowering like some corals can be. I like to pair this lipstick with a warmer eye and a nice coral/ peach blush. I am considering buying a backup.

I generally don't like the way corals look on me. But this one is very pretty, Im guessing because it leans more toward the neutral side. Its definitely not a bright coral, but a warm soft coral with maybe a tinge of brown that I think would look great on most people. Smooth texture.

This is a very pretty nudish (is that a word?), very light peach color on me. That being said, it was a definite surprise to see the color when I got my Mac package in the mail. I'd really hoped Dressmaker would look more like the pictures I've seen; a more intense orange/coral/peach, similar to the more vibrant colors of a real peach. My fantasy herein was that Dressmaker would be a warmer version of the lovely Mac Strawberry Blonde lipstick from a few years back. Alas, however, twas not to be. And yet it is pretty in its own right; bright and cheery like an early Spring morn, and it does light up my face. I just privately wish it had a wee bit more depth to that 'coral' bit.

P.S. Torn between a 3 or 4 rating, I went for the 4. It makes a pretty light peach look, and it's certainly not Dressmaker's fault it's lighter than I'd imagined, but rather my own narcissistic expectations!

I LOVE this lipstick!
a MAC artist put this on me with 'Smile' over it (not sure which kind of gloss that is, sorry) and it was so gorgeous that I HAD to have this color.

Its a very pretty coral-peachy as everyone else has said. I wish it weren't limited edition.. hopefully there is a drugstore color similar for when I run out.

Seriously, if you like corally-peachy colors, this is definitely a good one to get.

I find this a more tame version of ever hip. while ever hip is like "whoa" , dressmaker is more like "hi" . Ever hip provides my lips with complete coverage while with dressmaker, some of the nautral color of my lips shines through. It is definitly very wearable. I did a look using naked lunch on my lid and woodwinked in the crease, some instant chic blush, and dressmaker and it is very cute. Its a clean shade great for everday. I am NC 25 , 020 in dior, and medium beige in BE, asian skin.

Took off one lippie for consistency issues; I found that it can apply unevenly if your lips aren't perfectly smooth or if you try to layer a lot, but it looks fine from far away. It's a lovely desaturated coral-peach that makes a great non-concealer nude for me (but it's probably not a nude for fairer skintones). I have very pigmented lips and while it doesn't totally negate the natural purple of my lips, it plays well with it and with my golden-olive skintone. Overall a great color, just wish it's consistency and texture were more like other MAC lustres.

Edit: If you have both Dressmaker and Made to Order, they mix together very nicely!

Dressmaker, Dressmaker is my new favorite lipstick. It gives a peachy-nude glow and enhances your natural lip color. It's a great everyday color that would work very nicely with those who have pink undertones to their skin. I was so lucky to get the last one at my MAC counter! The pictures for it really aren't accurate. In one it looks very orange! In fact though, it is more of a muted coral if anything. I think it will look gorgeous with Fold and Tuck lipglass (which I also got!).

I am thinking about getting another one since it will be gone once Pret a Papier is gone. It is very creamy & moisturizing, just a nice light peachy glow on your lips. Me likey!
