The pump doesn't work properly. I often try to use half pump, but there is always extra coming out. Bad packaging design.
This product is also overpriced and does not worth the price tag. It doesn't get rid of acne at all. I get breakouts and a lot of redness develops on my face (I wonder whether this is the reason Michelle Phan's skin worsens too). The refund policies and shipping cost are also ridiculous. Will not buy any IQQU products again!

Iīm suprised to read that so many of you guys had breakouts from this.Iīm really sorry that it didnīt work for everyone :/
Iīve been using this for 4 months now and my complexion improved. The strange thing is that my review was submitted but never showed up at the iqqu-page. No idea why.
Anyway, I have very oily skin with some pimples now and then and blackheads and my skin is also very sensitive which makes it hard to find a matching product because a lot of them irritated my skin or were to aggressive and dried out my skin or to mild and caused other breakouts. The only products that were really matching so far was actually the whole care line from "Vichy", which Iīm using for about 7 years now.
So let me tell you it was also a bit hard for me to try out Michelles Acne Serum, after I tried so many products and was only really satisfied with the Vichy-ones. But as the effect of the products on my skin (maybe I just got too used to them) wasnīt the same and that good anymore, I was forced to at least temporarly change my skincare line.
Anyway, I decided to give it a try and Iīm very glad I did!
The package: I really like the pure simple look of the bottle.
The pump works correct to, you just have to be stubborn at the beginning and give it a couple of good pumps until a vacuum is created and thatīs it.
I was a bit suprised at the beginning how orange/apricot the serum was and also a bit concerned because I really have fair skin (like a ghost, even the MAC shade NC15 is waaay to dark) but as soon I applied it, it got absorbed quickly. So itīs transparent in the end. I also love the light texture and the wonderful decent herbal scent, which might come from the teatree-oil.
It made an impact immediately. My skin felt refreshed and so velvet as soon as I applied the serum.
I also noticed, that my skin wasnīt that oily anymore after Iīve been using this product about 8-9 days which is not such a long period.
My skin definitely feels much better now. I got rid of the few pimples I had and a lot of whteheads and blackheads.
Not all of them are gone but I think itīs a process which goes on step by step.
Itīs amazing how it evened out my skin and how I didnīt have ANY irritations so far. I donīt think that my skin is brighter now, but I wasnīt going for that anyways, as I have very fair complexion, so I canīt judge about thatone. I think that 7 years are a long period and that my skin maybe got to used to the Vichy stuff and it just didnīt recieve the same results and the change was good. Iīll use my bottle up and then repurchase it and also order the Skin Food Peach Sake Serum. So in case the Skin Food Serum doesnīt work, Iīll stick to the IQQU Serum again. And then one day, Iīll go back to my Vichy-stuff if I donīt find anything better =)

I was hoping for good results with this product and i gotta say, I'm really disappointed. It didn't do anything for me and I've decided to stop using this after just a week because my acne is getting really bad. It's not worth the money at all.

SAVE YOUR MONEY, SERIOUSLY.
okay, so i have this pretty big pimple on the right side of my forehead. I got this serum just two days ago, i used it yesterday, and today, i got like.. pus in the pimple. WTF?! idk.. i guess it's kind of too early to determine the results of this horrific acne serum, but judging by the other reviewers and fellow makeupalley REAL people (unlike the iqqu website where michelle phan freakin' approves the comments..) I'D SAY THAT THIS SUCKS. lol but idk it gave me pus in my already big pimple.. what the heck.
before purchasing this product, i was only looking at the reviews ont he website, and i happily ordered my rice scrub and serum! i haven't tried the rice scrub yet, but i'm about to after this review. after ordering, i had researched this product on makeupalley and boy, everyone said it weas horrific. oh dead, i immediately regretted ordering this piece of crap, and the price of the amount of product.. NOT WORTH ITTTTT, BUY SOMETHING ELSE! seriously. rice scrub and acne serum plus shipping and waht not, (i live in canada), it came to a shocking value of 50 dollars or more... horrible especially for what it is.
can anyone messagfe or do a review for the rice scrub? i'm scared to put it on my face.. aha but it smells sooo fresh and delicious! haha anyways, please, save your money. GOOD NIGHT!

This product GAVE me acne. I used it everyday for about 2 and a half months and my acne got worse. I found the packaging was pretty bad, the acne serum would dribble out after i put the lid on and waste it. I love michelle phan and i think shes great, but shes got perfect skin anyway and obviously this acne serum doesnt need to do much for her for her to have clear skin! plus she hasn't had acne so i dont think her acne products are really going to be the best out there....
There are much better options available to acne sufferers from mild- severe than this, so no need to waste money.

So I bought the Acne Serum AND the Sunscreen back in February. First of all, the products didn't arrive for 3 weeks so I e-mailed customer service a couple of times because my bank account was charged so I wanted to get my products! They only responded when I threatened to open up a paypal dispute. They instead sort of rude to me but said they'll "re-ship" my products. They finally came after 3 weeks..
My skin is actually pretty clear but I do have an oily t-zone. Its only during finals week when I get one or two pimples at the most from stress, but I wanted to try the acne serum because its supposed to even out your skin tone, be a spot treatment, etc. I have hyper pigmentation and redness on my cheeks, under/around the nose, between my brows, and below my lips but not to the point where I wear foundation usually. In the end, since Michelle & I have similar skin, I thought it would work for me just like it did for her.
For the first 2 weeks, I didn't notice any major difference except that my pores became larger, the redness on my face seemed to get lighter and the occasional pimple but I did have a few areas that turned red. Then I started getting extremely large, painful pimples... but I kept using it because I know some products take some time to be effective. I even tried the serum as a spot treatment but it only seemed to get worse. I planned to use this product a full 3 months but I stopped after 2 because the breakouts were just too ridiculous. And the pimples I used to get before this product were gone within 2-3 days but the ones I had after using the product? They stay at least a week+... Once I stopped using the products, the red blotches disappeared within a few days. 2 weeks later, most of the pimples have calmed down but I was left with a few scars... ='( and my pores are still pretty large now...
Nothing like this has ever happened to me before because my skin isn't sensitive at all so I assumed I was allergic to some of the ingredients. I decided to ask my professors and bosses (I work at a research facility next to campus) at UCLA so I can avoid them in the future. They said there are a few unnecessary ingredients in the serum and that a few ingredients have been known to irritate the skin and make acne worse but some of these ingredients aren't uncommon at all. One of my professors actually told me about a dermatologist they work with and advised me to talk to them to get the full picture. The dermatologist pretty much said the same thing and explained that some of the ingredients must have been used because they are cheaper than more effective and less harmful ingredients but she said there still are cheap ingredients that are known to be more effective. I told her what happened to my skin after using them and said the ingredients still might work for other people or maybe this particular formula might be effective even if the ingredients are average/less than average but she doesn't recommend it.
They also said the sunscreen isn't harmful for the skin but its also made up of cheap ingredients. It contains Talc which is still being tested because some tests say its linked to cancer.. but the dermatologist said thats not exactly the case yet so it could still be 100% safe. I tried using the sunscreen but it left white streaks on my face sometimes...but it wasn't as soft or smooth as I thought it would be. Its not that bad but I feel like it isn't worth the money since the Neutrogena sunscreen with 100 SPF is $10 compared to the TINY iqqu one for $30 with only spf 35. They said it might be because there is too much of a certain chemical and that it might not have been mixed properly during production?
--
On a side note, I follow Michelle Phan on twitter and she posted a picture once of the ingredients in her home.. (http://twitpic.com/ajz36) and when the Iqqu stuff finally came, the return label was from Florida where she lives... Someone asked her if the products are made inside her home but she never responded.. !? But my friend also bought it and hers was shipped from Thailand. so I don't know, lol
Please be extremely careful if you want to take the plunge and finally buy her products. Try not to use a lot of products either with the iqqu stuff because that can irritate the skin also. But if you have semi-decent or relatively clear skin, I advise you to stay away. Its too risky. Its been almost a month since I stopped using them and went back to my old products but it still hasn't gotten 100% better.
Oh, and my review never showed up on the Iqqu site... =\ But take everything I said with a grain of salt. different products work on different people. and different dermatologists recommend different things. the dermatologist i spoke with doesn't specialize in skincare products but focuses on individual chemicals, doing tests, how it effects the skin cells, etc. so its definitely possible that a dermatologist that does focus on acne products or isn't researched-based, may say something different.

When I first bought this product I thought I would have skin as smooth as Michelle's; so I bought it and was so excited to use it. I didn't have any acne at that time and when I first used it for the whole month my skin became smooth adn even out and it gave me that shiny healthy look. Well after one month my skin broke out and I started to have cystic pimples around areas of my skin that I thought I wouldn't have.
So I dropped IQQU and began using my old product which eliminated all the pimples and thought I would try IQQU one more time because Michelle mention something about you have to apply sunscreen. So I tried again and teh results failed; I got lots of pimples afterwards. this is not a good product for oily skin.
I love Michelle though and maybe this product is specific for some skin types and is not for oily skin. :)

I bought this product thinking the same thing as most others: Michelle has a great complexion. So I'll try her products. Not to mention I was fooled by the comments on her website like some of the other reviewers on here. It's not until after I tried the serum that I realized that her amazing skin is probably thanks to genetics and healthy eating, not so much the serum, sun screen, scrubs, etc. Because that serum did a number on my face. A bad one.
Anyway, I got the serum and used it for 4 months. That's a fair trail, right? Also, someone asked on her on her Iqqu site about breakouts occurring because of the product. She said that would happen for a week before the skin cleared up because of the retinol in the serum. Seems like that would have been mentioned ON THE PACKAGING. A large amount of retinol can do massive damage to younger skin (if you don't know what retinol does, please take the time to look it up). My pores became noticeably enlarged and irritated on my cheeks and nose, and my chin broke out far more than usual. It wasn't whiteheads or blackheads, it was cystic acne. Those bumps are under the skin, take a week to surface, and hurt terribly. I didn't get a lot of them (no more than five at once), but they were undoubtedly provoked by this product. Not to mention the red areas on my face became more vibrant and difficult to conceal. Why did this not help my skin? Probably because, as another reviewer pointed out, the effective ingredients within the product are very low concentrated, although the retinol is in question. So, the people leaving reviews that come off as butt-kissing can hush and start providing reasons as to why it worked for them. And if they can't, just leave a positive review and leave it at that. Oh, and I won't even get started on what a pain it was to get that pump in the bottle to function.
I'm not pleased that most negative reviews on her site fail to get posted. They are submitted, but never show up.
I will not be buying this product again.
As for the rice scrub (because I don't see a separate review page for it):
Irritated my skin. I also used this for four months. Didn't tear up my skin as badly as the serum, but it didn't help. But it does smell amazing! Anyway, I was planning on using it all until I was told that mineral oil (an ingredient in the scrub) is NOT good for oily, acne prone skin. It doesn't have an impact on everyone's skin, but since mine is so sensitive I chose to play safe instead of sorry. I should have done better research, yes. But Michelle needs to make note of mineral oil, what it's used for, and the effects it can have on the skin since she's pushing this product for all skin types. Same goes for the retinol.
EDIT: Figured I'd mention that I'm not bashing Michelle. I like a lot of her make-up tutorials and some of her DIY videos, but her products are just NOT for my skin. And again, I'm not pleased that most of the negative reviews are not posted on her site. And the people on here calling the "troll" card need to drop it already. Who cares if someone loves or hates Michelle Phan? No one is going to joke about having whiteheads nor cystic acne. I certainly hope no one would go around claiming they've got cystic acne from Miss Phan's products just because they don't like her as an internet personality. And cut out the bashing of other reviewers. This is MakupAlley, not your drama llama's lawn to piss on.
LATE EDIT: I thought it was worth mentioning that Michelle's products are not FDA approved (if you don't know what the FDA does then please look it up). A few people have done their research on her products, and I ended up calling the FDA myself to confirm it. Michelle is lying when she says her products are FDA approved, that is fraud, which is a felony. Had I known this sooner, I would have never tried her products.

I have to say this product failed my expectations. I heard the great ratings on the iqqu website (which by the way I wrote a review on that website but it never was uploaded). I have moderate/severe type of acne and it toned out my skin. BUT the acne serum caused cystic acne on my skin. I thought maybe it was my eating habits and stressed so I used the product for about two months, but my acne only got worse. Long story short, if you don't have much of an acne problem and would like even toned skin, this product is for you, but if you have acne, I recommend just sticking to something that contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.
I am completely unsatisfied with my purchase.

I have yet to make a proper review about the Iqqu rice scrub, but I wanted Makeup Alley subscribers to know about the Iqqu product in general, if you guys are thinking of even buying, so bear with me:
1. Ordered the rice scrub March 5, paid $23
2. March 7, charged my bank the $23
3. March 16, asked about the shipping. I read from different review sites that they ship from outside the country, so I thought it might take up to 3-4 weeks, because of Customs and all.
4. March 26, got an apology stating that they will be shipping my product and I will receive it in a "few days."
5. April 1, inquired again, and asked that if they can just refund me the money because really...it's been almost a month.
6. April 6, still no response. At this point, I told Iqqu Product rep...whoever they are...that I want my money back, and if this isn't resolved I will put in a dispute for the payment with Paypal.
7. April 7. Instead of an apology, I get an email stating that my product was shipped today. From where?...Florida! It takes a month to ship something from Florida?!
I checked the tracking number today, and it says that the product was delivered, so I am patiently waiting for this rice scrub, which at this point, I don't even want to try anymore, to be delivered.
*Sigh*
I'll write a review about the rice scrub if I ever receive it.

I have mild acne and usually break out 3-4 times a month so I tried this after seeing it announced several times on my favorite makeup gurus page. But this product SERIOUSLY SUCKS, after using this product for 2 months I have not seen ANY improvement whatsoever, my acne has only gotten worse. but on the website they claim that its supposed to get worse before it gets better but I'm already done with my first bottle and nothing has happened, I only ended up getting severe cystic acne and very dry skin... waste of money...

This product is a total disappointment... I was excited to receive my first bottle of acne serum from iQQu with all the fuss about how amazing the product is.
I feel as if I've just been cheated. The bottle is small for an expensive price, it lied about hydrating my skin, not only is my skin not more hydrated, its the driest its ever been. I have normal skin, its not dry and not oily I usually don't have any acne unless I'm on my period. I've used this for about 3 - 4 weeks now, this product gave me breakouts the very next day as I apply it every night before I go to sleep.
I was very confused as to why the product did not work on me since i had very mild acne. I did some research into the product not only are the effective ingredients within the product very low concentrated, the reviews on the iQQu site mostly...fake, I would say. 9.9/10 of the reviews were positive but when I read up reviews on other places this was not the case, I then decided to do a review on the site itself, the site did not require any registration for a review to be made, on top of that when i submitted my review it did not show up on the site, thus proving that my theory which the reviews/comments posted on the iQQu site needs to be approved before it gets published (showing why all the reviews give positive feedback).
This product is a total scam, unrealistic reviews, consists really low amounts of effective ingredients, and expensive for its small (30ml) bottle.

I bought this product to get rid of my pimples when i was breaking out. I thought that it would work for me because of all the good reviews in the Iqqu website. The pump isn't so bad like what they say just that it takes a while to get the product to come out when you receive it. It smells like some herbal medicine. This product didn't fade my acne scars or heal my acne at all. I say save your $33 for something that is more worth the price.

I will NOT use this product again. It broke me out terribly and left my skin with scars that laster for more than 2 months. They still have not completely cleared up! Look under my profile to see a picture of the damage it caused to my skin. I use to have clear skin that only mildly broke out. But when I used IQQU, it just destroyed my skin :( I do not recommed that anyone purchase this product.

I am a fan of Michelle Phan from youtube and I love her skin. She looks like she has flawless skin even when she does a closeup to her skin without any foundation out. So I figured I would try the acne serum that she uses out to see if it would work on my acne prone skin. I don't have horrible acne. It can be covered up my foundation. But I do get the occasionally big pimples, and I do have redness as well have acne scars all over my face. I also get cystic pimple which are the white heads. I have gone on and off with proactiv as well as using prescriptive medicine with benzoyl peroxide. I find those help better than this serum. I felt that this didn't really hurt my skin, but it didn't really made it better. It didn't seem to heal pimples as fast as my other products so I thought this product just didn't work for me. Now I am just trying to use up this product by laying it with my other medications in order to get extra strength.

For some reason, I never had gotten the bad product. Maybe it's because I live in Asia and the pressure from the delivery caused the leakage but I never experience the leakage.
I suffered from minor scarrings since I was in high school and very keloid prone. After using this, my skin cleared up very fast and everyone praised me that my complexion was improving leaps and bound. I am very very satisfied with the product but wish I can get them off the market and not getting it shipped here. I go to Thailand for vacations often and apparently emailed them if I can visit their center to get the serum from them.
Overall, I love them so much - never had crysts, did not clog my pores, in fact it cleared my blackheads and my face looked so much clearer and transparent.
I don't really like the price for it though, somehow it is quite costly for a 30 ml product. I have just finished my my bottle as well as the fabulous sunscreen and hoping I can get them while I am in Bangkok.
I still not know why it did not work on some people but I am glad it worked for me. Perhaps I have got Asian skin? Does it matter? or make a difference? It worked for my brother as well as friends too.

Ok, I'm NOT a Michelle Phan Basher. I love her tutorials and have actually improved my complextion by using some of her home made masks. With that said, I decided that I trusted her opinion of this Acne treatment. Keep in mind that all skin types are different. For example, Michelle has on various occasions said in her tutorials that her skin is dry, Mine is not. It can be very oily especial in my "T Zone". I tried this treatment when my face had only one pimple on my chin. I wasn't very suprised to see how small the package was. Even drugstore brands sell benzoyl peroxide in 0.63 oz containers. I was a pain when it took me forever to get the product out the 1st time i tried using it. It took many, many pumps to dispense. Once it did dispense i liked how it gave you a set amont because i tend to use too much. I gave it a month and saw that not only did that one pimple had not really reduce as quickly as my previous ones (which it treated with a combo of salicylic acid toner and benzoyl peroxide spot cream), I had begun break out in the surrounding area. I was very disappointed. Especially when I had paid so much for the product. I paid $8 just in shipping. However, I'll still love to watch Michelle's tutorials. Instead of using her endorsed acne product, I'll stick to the home made remedies (masks & nutrition). They really worked the best for me. Overall I gave a 2 because it broke me out and was expensive. I would have given a 5 on packaging if it weren't for the first pumping issues. I would deffinantly NOT buy this product again.
