Has anyone else felt physically ill from using this product? I've used Dove Original at night for years without problem. The Visibly Smooth product's overpowering scent gave me a headache immediately. The product also gradually made me dizzy and disoriented to the point of falling over after squatting down. I thought I had an inner ear infection. Even after scrubbing it off, I feel hot and my head aches. I not as dizzy, though.

I bought this deodorant because it promises to "minimize the visual appearance of hair over time". I started to use it and I realized, to my surprise, that the hair actually was less visible and more fine. But over time, I realized it also caused me to sweat more and the deodorant didnt have all day protection, so by the end of the day, the scent had worn off. It also left a lot of white pieces behind AND made my hair grow back faster then usual. In the end, I was totally unsatisfied with the side effects and am definetly never going to buy this product again.

This product is far too expensive for what it is. I only picked it up because it was on sale. If it worked, spending that extra money for this would be ok with me. I have this in the nature fresh scent. The smell is OK - kind of powdery, which isn't my thing (the first day I wore it, my boyfriend asked me if I smelled soap as soon as he came near me). There is nothing BAD about this product - it doesn't smell horrible, it doesn't leave white marks, and it doesn't irritate my underarms. However, it doesn't leave you looking or feeling stubble-free, as it promises. It did nothing to that effect for me. I also don't like the way this product is dispensed. You can't just twist it up a little bit, you have to do it a full turn - so, as much as Dove decides you want to use.
I think this is way too pricey for a regular anti-perspirant, and I do not love the packaging or the scent, so I would definitely not repurchase this one.

Love how smooth and clean this product feels. Unlike some other deoderants, Dove does not leave behind that sticky feeling under your armpits. (Secret is notorious for that. You can feel the deoderant residue even AFTER you shower. There's no way to scrub it off). The hair growth also tends to be slower. Excellent product. True to it's claims. Will definately repurchase again!

I have been testing this product for the last 6 weeks as part of a Buzz Agent campaign, and I am fairly satisfied so far! I will update my review as I continue to use and monitor the results :)

As a deoderant/anti-perspirant, I think it does a good job. It took me a day or two to get used to it, but after that it performed just fine in-those categories. As for minimizing hair regrowth... I'm not sure. I am tempted to say yes, but I didn't do a controlled test with one arm using it, one arm not, so I can't say for sure. It seems to me like the hair is finer/sparser, but it could be me wanting it to work! What is definitely does do: it is very moisturizing, so after you have shaved the area it feels a lot smoother and looks better. I used the Wild Rose scent, which I also really liked. Fresh and I will be rebuying, so that I can continue to see the results from using it long-term.

I feel it is my duty to report on just how bad this product is. I don't normally shave my underarms (I use an epilator) and I don't require deodorant in winter months, and use a light one during summer months.
I purchased this because of the 'rose' scent, and decided one day to shave my underarms in the shower since I was shaving my legs anyways.
After using this deodorant, I noticed stubble under my arms in under 24 hours, and it did absolutely nothing to prevent odor or wetness. It was like anti-deodorant since I dont seem to sweat without using any deodorant in the winter months.
I didn't give up on it fully at that point, I used it a few more times and experienced the same results, nothing to control odor or wetness, to the point of embarassment.
I never throw products away until they are completely finished, because I feel that even if they aren't the greatest at that point, there may be some use for it in the future, no matter how remote.
I threw this away within a week.

This is such a gimmicky product but it actually does work. Truth be told, I really couldn't care less if it did. I mean, is the general public really that lazy?! Shaving takes like 10 seconds in the shower. The only reason I even bought it in the first place is because I like the rose scent. That being said, it does seem to minimize the appearance of underarm hair. No, you won't be able to go weeks on end without shaving but it can buy you a couple extra days. The most important thing for me, however, is that it keeps me dry but doesn't burn. Many anti-perspirants make me feel like my armpits are on fire (Ban especially) but this feels like my pits have been given a glass of ice-cold lemonade on a hot summer day. I have to switch up my deodorant every couple months because they seem to stop working as well but I keep this one in the rotation.

I have this in Nature Fresh. The scent to really strong and a bit overpowering. It noticeably clashes with other scents that I wear. Other than the strong scent though, I like it. It feels really moisturizing and doesn't flake off or leave any residue on my clothes. As for the claims that it makes hair grow back finer and slower, I'm not convinced about that. Although my underarm hair is pretty sparse and fine to begin with, so I can't really say too much about it. Overall, I like it because it's moisturizing and doesn't leave marks on my clothes. If they toned down the scent I would like it even more. BTW, I got this product free as a product tester, but the opinions are my own and unbiased.

I have this in Wild Rose, it smells so amazing! It does not minimize pit hair though. At all. It also leaves those annoying white marks on clothes if your not careful, as well as flakes of white stuff on your armpits. I don't think this is the best in odor control, I'm not very sweaty, but sometimes I notice a smell if I I am really active. I say the best deo is Naturally Fresh or Kiss my Face. Don't bother with this one.

I use this is Nature Fresh, and it's my favorite deodorant for two reasons. #1 It smells SOOOOO good! #2 It's super moisturizing and helps with razor irritation in my armpits. That being said, it does not minimize hair growth on me whatsoever (I've used it since it first came out a few years ago). Also, my sweat does come through by the end of the day a bit. However, I'm not a very sweaty or hairy girl so I don't really mind and will still continue to repurchase for the two reasons given.

On it's own- this product gets a 3, but in tandem with the Clinical Protection it gets a 4. However, since I am only reviewing for the single product, and it's not as effective as the clinical strength version, I will stick to giving it a fair 3 (if I could I would give it 3.5).


PROS: (1) scent- it smells like creamy roses. I like it because it's fresh and clean as well as being very feminine! (2) provides adequate sweat protection. (3) does not leave white marks on clothing (provided you give it time to dry!). (4) Left skin feeling soft and hydrated.


CONS: (1) did not improve the state of hair growth or stubbles. Thus why it gets a 3- the selling point in this product is to make the stubble less visible and give you extra time in-between shaves.


When used with the Clinical strength product- it's very nice, but on it's own, it's very average. I don't plan to use this one anymore because I feel like the clinical version is better and much more effective. Feel free to read my review on this through my 'Product Reviewed' section.

When I first heard of this product, I was super, cause honestly, who the hell doesnt wanna be lazy when it comes to shaving? Needless to say, i ran out and bought it. I feel like im still using it because i want it to work so badly. Unfortunately, it doesnt do anything more than a regular deodorant. It hasn't done anything to condition my skin or make my hair easier to remove or less stubbly at all. I love the scent, thats pretty much its only redeeming quality. Dont waste your money on it.

I like this deodorant, I have it in nature fresh. I don't have some talky perfume following me around all day, and I never notice myself stinking. I seem to have roughly the same amount of underarm hair though...

This review comes via two of my daughters - I have never tried the product myself. They both said exactly the same thing about it - smells OK, nice to apply, but that it did provide odor protection for long enough and that, alarmingly, they both noticed that their underarm hair grew even faster than normal and was just as, if not more stubbly. Yikes!! I would not personally try it anyway as I am a huge fan of the Dove Ultimate - Go Fresh - Energizing deodorant.

This deodorant is iffy. Luckily, I don't have a real problem with my underarm smell, so it didn't matter much to me. I liked the idea of going longer without shaving, although I was sure it was just a gimmick.

So after using this for about a month, I have noticed a little change... I have very sensitive underarms, and this really does condition them. Hair does grow in slightly softer, and I have found that shaving is easier - somehow, it's reduced cuts.

Overall, this is an alright deodorant. Not sure if I'd buy again though.

I have to shave a lot, so when I first heard of this product, I was ecstatic and picked it up immediately. Unfortunately, it's been a huge disappointment. I've been using it for roughly two months and it hasn't done anything to condition my skin or make my hair easier to remove. The scent is also extremely unappealing. I suppose it works just fine as a deodorant but that's not what I bought this product for. Definitely not worth buying.

I generally use Dove deodorants so I decided I may as well try this one. I have sensitive skin but I've also never had a reaction to a deodorant, however; this particular deodorant caused an incredible amount of discomfort and itchiness that would never go away. Luckly, as soon as I stopped using it all ill effects stopped. I won't buy this product again but I'll continue to use other Dove deodorants consistantly.

The idea of a deodorant that could minimize underarm hair has intrigued me for a while, so I caved in and bought this at Target.


I wasn't expecting miracles with this product. Maybe just a slight difference, but I didn't even notice just that. Used this for months. Underarm hair feels the same. I think the only thing I liked about this deodorant was that it smelled good. Wasn't very effective at keeping me dry either. I had better results with Ban. Will not repurchase.
