I bought this makeup because I am trying to make the switch to more natural cosmetics. I have the daytime kit, and the colors are really nice, thought some of them don't really show up on me unless I do four or five coats. I think they would look good on just about anyone. It is definitely very versatile, and you can create both natural and dramatic looks. The shadow goes on easily and is very bold when first applied. For me, its durability is average; it lasts about half the day, though it seems to get a bit muted within an hour. For this reason, I tend to apply the darker shades more often. Applying it wet or with the Amazing Base foundation first seems to help somewhat with durability.

For me this just doesn't last. It creases, it's blotchy going on and doesn't blend well. I've tried their bases, MAC base, nothing holds it on. Would not buy again.

I have Emerald and Dusk single shades and 2 trios (Brown Sugar and Khaki Kraze) These shadows blend nicely and I find the singles have worked well with other shades by Stila and Bobbi Brown. The blendability is really superior to BB and I have been a fan of hers for years. Stila's blendability is slightly less than JI. My all time favorite is the Brown Sugar. It just looks great on. Now if I could only find a shadow that doesn't crease on me.

Horrible blendability. Left my eyelids looking splotchy and I applied over a base. I had high hopes for this eyeshadow and assumed it would perform well due to being so expensive, wow was I wrong! I have used drugstore eyeshadows that work much better than this. I have the dark blue shade called Blue Moon. Maybe the lighter shades work better but UGH this one was awful!!!! The pigment was good but blending took up so much of my time getting ready for work this morning. =(

I used to work at a spa/salon part time and they sold the Jane Iredale products there, so I would receive 50% off of the products - which is how I fell in love w/ Jane Iredale.
Love, love, love the eyeshadows with one important exception:
Every one of them has broken up into loose powder. When I travel I have been unable to take the JI eyeshadow (or any other pressed product of hers) with me because of this; it just gets really messy and for as much as it costs to replace them (now that I have to pay full price) I don't want to lose any of the product...so they just stay home, unfortunately.
LOVE IT!

Ever wondered why Jane Iredale eyeshadow explictly states that it "contains carmine" on the packaging of its eyeshadows? Well, that's because some people are deadly allergic to it. But the most fun fact of all about "carmine" is that it is made from Cochineal-- AN INSECT! Yep, if you don't believe me, read for yourself: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmine
Aside from the creepiness of applying dried and ground up BUGS to your eyelids (wee!), these eyeshadows are beautiful. And since they are beautiful, I don't mind swiping a lil' bit of bug on my lids. Too bad they're damn pricey.

I cant believe it took me so long to try these shadows. They are STUPENDOUS! i really love them. I have alot of shadows and didnt really need more, but a new kiosk opened and I played with them and fell in love. These eyeshadows are silky smooth, super pigmented, last all day without creasing (with UD PP underneath). They retail for a pricey $27.50 for a three pan but the texture is wonderful. SO far i have Brown Sugar and Khaki Craze. Brown Sugar is a trio of shimmery shades in a champagne, soft taupey gold and deeper taupe. All gorgeous. Khaki Craze is a shimmery off white, a shimmery coppery brown and a true shimmery khaki gold. Very pretty. All pigmented shades. Comes in a small compact. Highly recommend this line!

I am reviewing the Daytime Eyeshadow Kit. Oyster is a great neutral highlighting colour. I use Cappucino and Dark Seude for the crease, Dark Seude or Charcoal for a wet-eyeline, and Almond turns out to be wonderful for a subtle contour of my face. These colours are all very neutral, wearable, and give you enough options in mixing to achieve both natural and dramatic looks. I wish there is one shade between Cappucino and Dark Seude, but overall I'm really happy with it. The staying power as both eyeshadow and eyeliner is amazing. The brush is close to useless, good for touch-up I guess... but then the colours last so well there's hardly any need to!

I have this in Crushed Ice, a brownish grey. Looks so beautiful on my yellow-toned olive skin and is perfect for a smokey eye. Color lasts and lasts on my oily eyelids. A bit pricey (CAD$23) but worth paying for such a distinct, high-quality color.

I just recently got into Jane Iredale's makeup and soon found myself looking at her eye shadows as well. I got Cappuccino and Dusk. Cappuccino is a matte medium tan/brown shade and is great as a crease color. Dusk is a shimmery denim blue-ish shade with purple. Both eye shadows have wonderful texture and blend well and they also wear well. I will definitely be looking into more of JI's eye shadows.

I'd recently noticed a matte shadow deficit in my collection, and purchased Jane Iredale's Sable, a light neutral beige. I loved it and soon wanted more. My Iredales now number six -- two cool mattes (Pink Smoke, Smoky Lilac), two neutral mattes (Sable, Taupe), one base matte (Bone) and one pearlescent highlight (Oyster). I can create a subtle, elegant eye every time with just this little group. Iredale colours are wearable, the pigment is rich, and wear is day-long with no shifting or creasing. I haven't explored the shimmers yet, as I have several from other brands, but something tells me I will soon enough. I'm so pleased I discovered these. Each one is a gem.

Thanks to these eye shadows, my dry eyelids can sport eye shadow again!
Horrible dryness has plagued my eyes and eyelids for months now, and I've avoided any type of eyeshadow or eyeliner because they all seem to irritate me.
I tried JI based on the reviews here, and let me tell you - I'm not at all disappointed. Though these e/s are pricey (around $17 for single shades), they're worth every penny, as they don't irritate my skin or eyes, they apply smoothly, and they last all day. They apply more like a cream than a powder, with perfectly even coverage that's buildable for deeper color.
Love, love, love! I can't believe I've waited so long to get into JI makeup. I'll definitely repurchase, and I'm looking at her eye pencils, too.
Holy grail status!

This is without a doubt the best powder eyeshadow I've ever used. There is absolutely no chalkiness and the look of a powder on your lids. I echo what the reviewer below me has said. I also have khaki craze and it really is one of the most flattering things I own. The colors in this trio are exactly as described and it really does just glide on and last all day long with no creasing or flaking off and my 41 year old eyes have no crepiness with these shadows at all. . If I could get rid of all my powder eyeshadows (and I have many, Chantecaille included) and wear nothing but these I would be eternally happy. They are that good. Wonderful variety and many colors to choose from. I got mine from skinwest.come. They have regular sales at 20% off and free shipping and the best price on these shadows I have seen anywhere, ebay included.Superior product.

JI eyeshadow trio in "Khaki Kraze" is my first try at JI eyeshadows ... I love the shades in this trio (a shimmery golden olive green, a shimmery light champagne, and a slightly shimmery dark espresso brown) ... after owning this for a while, it is definitely one of my favourites! The quality of these shadows is superb, very soft texture and highly pigmented ... also lasts all day and doesn't crease. The shimmer in these shadows does indeed look very dewy rather than glittery ... blendability of these shadows is also great. It was a tad pricey and I'm not really fond of the gold-rimmed compact (a personal thing coz I don't like anything gold) but that won't deter me from trying out other JI shadows and shades coz I really like these.

This is my second JI eyeshadow review, this time for the Triple Cognac trio. I love it! It's absolutely perfect for every day wear, and is my go-to set for times when I need to look lovely, yet understated (such as a job interview). The dark brown shadow is a very long-lasting liner when applied wet (I use a MAC 266 brush), the shimmery peach shadow is perfect for the lid, and the matte medium brown creates nice definition in the crease. Together, they make my blue eyes really stand out, and look good with my fair skin. The only drawback is that the peach shade is a bit crumbly, so you have to apply it carefully to keep it out of your eyes. Otherwise, it's perfect, and I think it will last a long time.

I have the eye shadow trio in Cloud Nine. I love the colors. And I love that these mineral shadows are pressed rather than loose in a pot however I gave it a 3 b/c I tend toward the oily side and these eye shadows don't stay on me more than half a day. I have to reapply if I'm going out for the evening. Having said that I also have to say that I haven't found an eye shadow yet that stays on me for any length of time even if I put a primer on first. Another plus for the JI trio is that it includes an all over color, a contour color and an eyeliner all in one compact. Saves a lot of time! I would buy this product again just because I really like the colors and that it's a mineral product pressed in a compact.

I recently purchased JI eyeshadow in Black/Brown Sable. It applies evenly, and so far, I love the color.

I have always had a hard time picking out good quality makeup, especially eyeshadow, so finding this JI eyeshadow was just what I needed! I have it in Khaki Kraze, and it totally compliments my light skin, blonde hair and greenish blue eyes. The thing I love is the superb blending power, with the three different colors it comes with. I gave it 5 lippies, but the only problem is it is very expenisive at about $25 on their website for a little compact of it. Also, I've noticed it's pretty important to have an eyeshadow brush when using this shadow (and any, really), so that would really help. Overall a great product, and will buy again (if I start saving up now).

I was looking for a paraben-free eye shadow in an "everyday" sort of shade, so I picked Peach Sherbet. It's a shimmery pink-peach that's a little more pink than the peaches I usually wear.
However, I think it really brightens up blue eyes without being so pink that you look like a lab rabbit. The first time I applied it, I didn't use any powder or other base first, and it disappeared pretty quickly. I tried it again after first applying some of the Jane Iredale Amazing Base, and the staying power was much improved.
I like this enough to make it my everyday shadow, and I'll probably check out some other Jane Iredale shades as well. After viewing this shade on both the Jane Iredale and Skin Etc. websites, I think the shades tend to look a bit more muted and darker online than they actually are. I'll keep that in mind if I decide to try another shade.
All in all, I think this is a very nice, chemical-free shadow.

Awesome shadows. I have them in champagne and cappuccino and pink smoke. They really have some remarkable lasting power. I have always had a problem with creasing eyeshadow, and even stopped bothering with it for a while. This stuff brought me back. A really nice selection of colors JI has as well. ***I also love Glominerals eyeshadow for the same reasons. Long lasting, and no creases. GM has more dramatic colors than JI if that's your thing.
