I find this shampoo to be very average. It doesn't moisturize my hair much, it is still a little dry. It doesn't make it any worse, though. The reason I say I will buy this again is because I absolutely love the smell--yep, this is what my mom used when I was a kid, so just the smell of it gives me the warm and fuzzies. In my perfect little world Finesse would just make this scent into a perfume and I could then buy a much better shampoo.

I recently rediscovered Finesse during my hunt for a fantastic smelling shampoo. Not only does it smell good, it actually softens and adds body to my hair. AND I got a 25.4 fl oz of this shampoo and matching conditioner at Target for only $3.94. I've read a lot of reviews where people have been unable to find this shampoo, but just so you know, Target stocks this shampoo in their salon shampoo aisle (on the other side of the regular drugstore shampoo aisle). *Update:* Unfortunately this shampoo is not what I remembered it to be. Upon the first couple of washes, it left my hair super soft and smooth, but throughout the weeks, my hair became very dry (straw-like) and also full of static, despite using the matching conditioner. I tried the Texture Enhancing version and I like that one much better than the Moisturizing version.

finesse scent takes me back to the 80's. they only had conditioner available back then. i'm glad they have a shampoo to pair up and it still alive and kicking.
this is definately better than some other high end products.

Wow, I didn't know it was possible to have a shampoo that cleaned easily and did not dry my hair out. This is it! It lathers and rinses off easily, leaving my hair feeling clean and smooth. I wash my hair at night and wake up with manageable, soft, and shiny hair, unlike when I used Neutrogena Anti-Residue. The scent is mild and pleasant (doesn't linger), and this is so cheap!

Okay, so I got this as per these fab reviews on here (I've been trying to see if it's possible to have fab hair w/o paying my usualy arm and a leg)------well, I have to say "thank you" to you all-----it is possible. My hair has been shiny and after I wash it, I don't feel the immediate overwhelming desire to condition (even though I do...of course).

P.S. I cross referenced with Paula Begoin's (sp?) book and this has a big smiley from her as well!

I've tried several more expensive shampoos like Redken and Amplify and I can honestly say Finesse is the best! The fragrance is amazing, it's cheap and it leaves no nasty residue on my scalp. I am hooked.

So far, I've used this shampoo twice, and as much as I thought i'd like it - it may not be the right shampoo for my hair :-(. I bought this in hopes that my recently very dry wavy hair would regain some health and softness after going for so long without proper conditioning. I have no problems with the feel, scent, price, or package of the shampoo - but unfortunately, it has been making my hair way too oily - too quickly. I have medium-thick wavy hair that can usually go without being washed for a good few days, but with this shampoo my hair becomes oily within about two days :S. I thought that my hair would benefit from this, but for whatever reason, this shampoo over-does it in terms of moisture it seems. When i used it this evening, i ended up using a different shampoo on my scalp, and Finesse along with conditioner on my ends :S.

This is a better than average shampoo for a drugstore brand. The smell is fresh and clean and not overpowering. Cleans well without stripping or drying your hair. I would repurchase this soley based on the scent but unfortunately it made my scalp itch like crazy. I used it for months hoping I'd get used to it with no luck. Its very inexpensive ($3.99), especially if you wait for a B1G1 free sale and use a coupon. Worth a try for the scent alone.
MUCH better than Pantene or L'oreal. Wish it didn't make my scalp itch.

I recently finished off my Nexxus and decided to try something new. Finesse was super cheap at Walgreens... I think $3.99 (US) a bottle! I love the bottle...the fragrance is fantastic: it is wonderful and light after shampooing. My scalp felt very comfortable: not dry nor itchy. My hair was shiny, my highlights were glowing and my layers laid down flat against each other instead of frizzing at the end like they typically do! I need no other products when using Finesse. Just blow dry and go. I am 25 and I have never had more fabulous hair than now. I am very pleased with this product.

One of the best shampoos I've ever tried. It really made my hair soft.
It gives added body and shine too. Actually, when i use think i think I can live without conditioner.
Finesse shampoos are good against split ends too.

This my favorite shampoo I've ever tried. I have "virgin" hair (not color-treated or chemically processed), but I still suffer from very coarse, dry long, thick hair. This is the only shampoo and conditioner line that truly restores the health and shine of my hair. The shampoo cleans the hair and scalp without stripping it or leaving an oily or greasy residue. The packaging is simple a dark blue bottle with white and medium purple writing on the front. The scent, as so many of you have already mentioned is so fantastic. It is an incredibly fresh and clean scent bordering on floral notes. I am interested to try the line for color-treated hair when I dye my hair a dark brownish-auburn color. hmmm.

Unquestionably the best shampoo on the market. I have to say I've tried at least 75% of the drugstore brands (tresemme, H&S, pantene, garnier, V05, pert, suave, herbal essences, etc.) and Finesse is the best!!! It really is. Anything else I've tried that claims to be "oh so hydrating" or super-moisturizing is no where as effective as this shampoo and conditioner. I color and highlight my own hair and then when I have time I love to straighten it. For MANY months I watched my hair get a little drier, then drier still and I tried a lot of brands to humbly try and restore some shine and softness to my hair. And Finesse is that "miracle shampoo" that repaired my hair. It's SO healthy and soft. The straw-like parts of my hair are as healthy as the new hair at the scalp. I admit I bounce around a lot but I'll never stray from Finesse again. It smells great too. EDIT: Of course. Now my local grocery store, Target and drugstore don't carry Finesse. Just my luck. &$*&@&*#

*Update 1-10-09* Finesse is my favorite shampoo , which is why it breaks my heart that Helene Curtis(The company that makes Finesse.) conducts animals testing. Please , please Helene Curtis , stop testing on animals. I can't in good conscience buy a product from a company that tests on animals so , please stop testing on animals.I'm a huge Finesse fan that's very disappointed. This is the reason I switched my "Would you buy this product again ?" answer from yes to no . C'mon Helen Curtis , other companies have stopped , so can you.

I have used Finesse since I was a little girl , I loved it then and I love it now.
It was my shampoo of choice as a little girl , it smelled INCREDIBLE! There've been many times when I've washed my hair that I've thought , "I wish they would make a Finesse perfume!"
Beautiful smell aside , the cream itself is fantastic. You get a full , luscious lather that very efficiently removes dirt , yet doesn't deplete hair of moisture. It's also very easy to rinse away. The conditioner is truly a miracle for hair ,it leaves the hair unbelievably soft - more soft than any "designer" conditioner.

And your hair will retain the beautiful scent for a couple of days.

I can't recommend this product enough.

After trying other shampoos, I seem to always come back to Finesse. I guess we don't want to believe that something so cheap is better! This shampoo is perfect. THe smell is fresh and not overpowering. The shampoo itself is creamy and a litle goes a long way. I feel like I don't "scrub" my hair with this, it just cleans effortlessly. It is moisturising, detangling and doesn't strip my hair. My thick, long straight hair loves this. (2 for $3.00 CDN)

I love Finesse's volumizing shampoo, and I would love the moisturizing version of it too if it didn't break me out! I guess I'm allergic to whatever makes this shampoo "moisturizing", I guess. Other than the breakout factor, this shampoo leaves my hair shiny and soft and very healthy looking. Plus it smells great and is cheap- it's often BOGOF at drugstores.

Amazing stuff for less than the cost of dirt! (Okay, the fancy kind of dirt). No strong scents here; just really creamy and moisturizing lather that cleanses but doesn't overstrip. I think this is an underrated product
(I found it at the very bottom of the shelf).

I have been searching for a shampoo that smelled good, cleaned without stripping and was cheep. Finesse Moisturizing Shampoo fits the bill perfectly. This is my new favorite shampoo. I like it even better than Biolage, which did nothing for my hair. I have also used Aussie Mega and abhor its fake-fruity smell. Speaking from personal experience, those of you who have trouble washing it out have simply used too much. My search has ended with Finesse M/S which is a good product that meets my demands perfectly.
