I'm disappointed that not everyone has had a good experience with this brush!

I find it to be an excellent dupe of the MAC skunk brush but for literally a quarter of the price! I found mine shed a little bit when I first washed it but it's great now!

although I don't use it for liquid foundation, only to finish off my make up with some MAC fix+ or some skinfinsh. All in all a great product, wish it wasn't made of animal hair though, kinda creeps me out! much prefer taklon brushes!

This bleeds dye so much that I can't use it. I have washed it at least 30 times and it's still bleeding blueish black dye so badly that the water never runs clear when I squeeze to finish washing. It seems to have gotten worse. In the beginning I didn't realize the dye was bleeding even when I was applying liquid foundation on my skin. I would get a really dark grey shade on my skin and I thought I had chosen a wrong shade of foundation as I was trialing a new brand of foundation at the same time as when I started using this stippling brush. But in fact it was this stippling brush leeching dye onto my skin. The brush was always washed and dried completely before I used it.

I have washed it with shampoo, used Manicare's brush cleaning spray, eye makeup remover, and it just keeps on bleeding dye. I have used it to apply MAC studio fix fluid and Revlon Colorstay with Softflex oily/combination foundation. I don't know what to do with it now. So far other people's reviews don't mention the dye bleeding so I am wondering if I got a real dud? I bought mine from Priceline in Warringah Mall, Sydney, Australia for AU$17.95. I also have their Contour brush and Angled Blush brush as well as a few small eyeshadow brushes but they are all natural hair not synthetic, and don't bleed.

Will definitely not buy this again. Although I do like the idea of using stippling brush for applying liquid foundation so I have ordered MAC 187 which I should have done in the first place.

I'm from Australia and you can pick up this brush at Priceline or Myer.
This brush only cost me about $18AUD which is very cheap considering how well it works.
It's extremely soft and doesn't shed for me.

Buy one!

Perhaps I ended up with a dud brush but this brush is absolutely terrible!

First of all, the brush sheds like crazy. I've used it a few times and I've had to pick a load of bristles off my face each time. Secondly, the brush isn't dense enough to use for stippling, and the bristles aren't soft at all. The brush doesn't do much for me, and I always end up having to smooth out my foundation with my fingers or a sponge.

The brush is a cheaper alternative to a pricey MAC brush but in my opinion it's nowhere near as good and not worth the $18. Additionally, the brush is poorly constructed - you'd be better off saving for the MAC 187.

I'm pretty disappointed - I've been waiting for a range of cheaper yet good quality brushes to be released in Australia, but it seems like the Artiste range isn't going to be it.

Like many other reviewers, I wanted something like the MAC 187 but without the price tag. I bought the coastal scents pink stippling brush and loved that but found it was too large for applying liquid foundation and it was just too hard to use for stippling it on. Then I found this. Just the right size for applying to any area of the face, dense, soft, no shedding AMAAAAZING. My HG brush. I want another one!!!

I was just starting with makeup when i discovered the MAC 187. I wanted it so bad but i didn't want to spend so much on a brush, so i was super excited to come across Artiste's Stippling brush 17. For the price, there's not much you can really complain about. As with everyone else, i do experience shedding, here and there but it does its job. I use it to buff in my liquid foundation after applying it with a foundation brush. Looks absolutely flawless =) I like a lot and recommend it to anyone who wants the MAC 187 without the price tag!

ived owned this brush for 3 weeks now, im pleased with it, it is 1/5th the price of the mac brush and overall it holds up not too bad. i don't own the mac brush of this, and honestly, owning this, i could probably live without it. (but having said that, i will probably buy one anyway)

My only complaints is that it stinks like hell, and when it gets wet (which is when i put my foundation on) it smells the worst. Ive washed it nearly 10 times now and the smell is getting better. it also sheds quite a bit for the first few washes.

i would buy again, in fact, im thinking of getting another for blush applications.

I bought this brush as a back-up and brush for when I travel for my MAC 187. It's almost exactly the same: the surface area is SLIGHTLY smaller, the handle is a little stouter and shorter, and it's just as soft! It applies pretty much the same as my 187. The only downside is that it does shed quite a bit, but who cares when it's less than a quarter of the MAC 187?
I wish I knew about this brush before purchasing the 187 though, I don't mind putting up with the shedding if i could have saved that much money!
