i dont wear lip sticks much so i wanted to buy something that was versatile and pretty. i am an NC30-35 skintone and hot gossip is the nicest rosy shade for me!
it looks subtle and doesnt have a shimmer (which i like) and it isnt too shiny like a gloss!
when it is used with a lip pencil the clour can be intensified, but without it looks so natural and pretty. good for day and night!
i absolutely love this colour, i will be repurchasing if i ever get to finish it!
it is roughly $32 for a MAC lipstick in australia but that is well worth it - i find drugstore lipsticks are drying and dont have as nice finish (oother than revlon but thats $22 a lipstick here, might as well buy MAC)
love this colour, it is a staple for me!

Hot Gossip is like putting one of those pink roses on your lips. At first it seems like it might be bright, but it is soft and completely wearable for all occasions. This is one of those colors I always seek out in January. When I am getting sick of "dark" and want a pop of bright freshness. When I wear a clean eye, Hot Gossip with Fleur Power blush, I feel like fresh English rose.

This isn't an in your face bright pink, but not as soft and muted Creme Cup. It actually reminds me very, very much of a Cremesheen version of Viva Glam IV.

FYI - I am NW20 with black/brown hair, brown eyes rosey brownish lips. And don't let the picture turn you off (the one with the reviews), it does not do this color justice.

This lipstick is very versatile. It's a muted, pink that has hints of brown, coral, and plum in it. Since it's so muted, it would make a great work lipstick. I wear this with BBQ liner. Or, with Plum liner. Another look is to wear this with Plum liner, ample Pink plush glass, and Viva Glam Cyndi lip glass (I got this look from a MUA).

Very smooth, creamy and silky. This is my second MAC lipstick and this is just a beautiful pinky, mauve color. The color payoff is exceptional and the staying power is fabulous. Perfect for daily or to the office wear.

I got this as my first Back-to-MAC gift sometime during the winter months. I ended up not liking it much and put it away. A couple of weeks ago I decided to try it again and really liked it. I used a berry colored liner and I'm not sure whether it's the liner or my slightly more tanned skin but it's a really pretty pink . . . perfect for spring and summer. I will get it again!

The cremesheen line is my favorite from Mac. It has just enough moisture in them so no need for me to apply chapstick beforehand. This color on me is perfect, I've been looking for a long time for a pink that isn't too hot, or too light,or seems to float on top of my pigmented lips. This sinks right in and looks so beautiful. I love how its able to go with Smokey eyes and purple looks. This along with nars outlaw is my favorite combo, they compliment each other soooo well.

i love this lipstick! i got it this weekend and it is beautiful. it a even amount of a pink and purple color that i can wear everyday and not look crazy. i like to wear it alone and without gloss because it is so pretty, because it's a creme sheen i put a few coats on to reach the color's maximum potential. this going to be added to my go to colors!

I have been on the hunt for a lip color that would give my lips the same color they turn in cold weather and this is that product. On me this is a great deep pink that still look fairly natural. I like that it's a color I could wear everyday or dress up if I had somewhere fancy to go.

A MUA @ Mac put this on me today; as well as a creme blush in Tickle Me Pink (i adore this blush. It was an instant buy for me). My first thought was it was kind of a lot but after wearing it for the day (well ok, until i decided to eat) it really grew on me and the combo was super pretty. I think i'm going to go back and pick it up.

For reference I am cool toned and fair skined. They put NC15 on me @ Mac only because the NW20 was too dark on me and she said NC15 is so light you can't even really tell it's warmer and after wearing it i agree.

I love the colour of this lipstick which goes beautifully with my nc37 skin colour. It goes on nicely but it does not have good staying power. It lasts for about 20 minutes then disappears, for this reason I will not repurchase.

I tend to stick with MLBB shades, but I'm trying to branch out. I was searching for something a few shades brighter than my usual choices but not over the top. This shade fits the bill! It's a true pink shade with an ever-so slight purple undertone. It has a sheen but isn't frosty. It's a versatile color, that can be kicked up a notch by using a bright liner or toned down with a neuteral liner. I feel more glamorous when I wear this lipstick. I am a dark eyed brunette with warm, yellow undertones, but I imagine this would be an ideal shade for all the cool-toned blonde as well. The only problem I have is the Cremesheen formula... I have to constantly reapply, because it has zero lasting power for me hence the 4 lippies. I'll buy it again if I can't find a dupe!

If youre fair and cool run to the Mac counter and get Hot Gossip. Its just a perfect shade of a sophisticated pink. It looks amazing with many of Mac's blushes, I especially like this with Mac's new LE blush Bite of an Apple which was released this fall. Hot Gossip is a must for all you blonde ladies out there.

MLBB! in the pics on this review page, the color looks more hot pink on the girl than it does on me. i'm NC 20-25 w/pigmented lips + tend to gravitate towards darker shades, so i was looking for a lippie for more conservative occasions. the SA recommended this, + it's just the right shade to even out my lip tone + look finished: a cool-toned darker pink.

I'm NC40-42 and this is a lovely pink on me - really pretty but not OTT or too bright. Great everyday lipstick which you can dress up by layering a darker gloss over the top. It doesn't dry you lips and lasts quite a few hours - i'm really happy with this :-) Try this if you like pink lipsticks but don't want to go for too strong a pink.

This is how I thought syrup would look like on me. This is a natural plummy pink mauve but not shockinly bright. I can wear this like a sheer lipstick or really put on alot for a bolder look.

Update I have returned this to my swap list

to sparkly & very drying even with prep prime under it

Hot Gossip is a cute pinky-plum shade with a slight shimmer. Its a cremesheen lipstick so it has a very smooth application. It of course comes with the delicious Vanilla smell that Mac lipstick's commonly have. I think the colour is very usable as you can were it on a daily basis but apply more layers for a more striking look. The colour is quite durable and lasts a good few hours. My only complaint would be that it is a bit too sparkly for my preferance. Overall, I am very happy with this product!

MAC's Hot Gossip is a shimmery mid toned plummy pink. Quite similar to MAC's Sweetie. Hot Gossip appears mostly pink in most lighting but its purplish undertones are more obvious in other types of lighting. I like that it's a Cremesheen, hence it has decent moisture also one can apply an additional layer for a more intense plummy pink look.

As you can see from the very different pictures, this lippie is very buildable and wearable. One layer is rather sheer, but you can add more and more and get a cute hot pink lip if you try. It is a cremesheen, so it's rather moisturizing. I like this color for its versatility. My blonde friend wears it daily, and I'm dark-haired and I can rock it as well. I gave it 4 lippies instead of 5 simply because I like it, but I'm not falling all over myself about it. That said, it fills a needed place in my lipstick collection and I would definitely buy it again.

Wow PRETTY indeed on my NC20 complexion...What a ncie surprise to have found this for my new pinky, Spring look...I spent the long winter wearing browny-plums and was in the market for a whole new look for Spring...I recently purchased a soft, sheer natural- pink blush from Chanel and wanted a lipstick to compliment it. Oddly enough this was the first lippie that caught my eye out of the HUGE selection that MAC has...I tried it on and instantly liked it...I still wandered around the dept store pondering it, and as I headed over to Chanel the MA told me what a GREAT lipstick I had on and what a great color for my complexion...Needless to say, I was SOLD...It's a medium pink with a hint of shimmer and when the color wears off I see a pinky-plum...Texture is quite creamy.... A side note: I usually will only wear CD addict or high shine l/s due to constant- severe chapped lips but this one didn't dry me out...
