I can see the bad reviews, but this hydrates my lips nicely and the color is pretty on my skin. I usually wipe it off after it hydrates because I put on a little too much, but it's a very good quality, if it's too much you can try the non tinted kinds and they work just as good. :)

oh my gosh I can't get over the negative reviews on this product. A friend bought me this for my birthday and I am in LOVE with this stuff. Now, I agree it doesn't seemed to be aimed towards chapped lips, but it is somewhat conditioning and I wear it more like a light lip stick. It's not shiney (more matte) and wears like a nude-frosted berry. LOOOVE it! And will totally buy again!

this product says its for chapped lips. It is, because it caused my lips to be chapped by using it. I threw my stick out. I don't intend to ever buy this product again

Ehh...
I wanted to like it because of the SPF benefits.
Doesn't moisturize chapped lips. Sits on it and slightly lubes but does nothing to help them. The color is GRITTY. Like there's a dusting of sand on my lips. The color doesn't even look that great. If your lips are dry this stuff just amplifies it.
I threw it away after a mere week of occasional uses.

When I first got this, I thought it would look great on my lips but I was wrong! It makes my lips look I just ate some snow and doesn't moisturize that well. Why pay more than you pay for chapstick if it doesnt work any better?

I like Softlips, but my only complaint is how thin the tube is. If they made the tube as wide as a Chapstick I think the product would sell a lot better. It isn't enough to cover the whole lip! I took off points for the rating because of the awful color. This color doesn't flatter anyone, it's way too frosty, pale, and inconsistent. But it does moisturize very well!

First of all, I love using soft lips, it provides great smooth lips! BUT I truly dislike the pearl finish!! I love the scent and the feeling of it when it's on my lips but it looks like I ate a powdered donut with this one! ): AND it looks like I have mega chapped frosty lips-- looks awful! Esp. when I have full lips, it makes it look a lot worse. Unless used with lipgloss over it or with lipstick over it, it could be decent BUT overall it looks awful alone.

this is a great chapstick for three reasons. 1, it is a pretty tinted color. 2, it makes your lips feel soft and hydrated, and 3, it is cheap!

this smells really good and is moisturizing but the regular soft lips chapsitcks are even more moisturizing . the tint leaves kinda of grainy look on your lips. when I wear this I usually wear lips gloss over it

Can I give this a negative zero? This is one of the worst products I have ever bought - glad it was cheap. It is not moisturizing at all - in fact it seemed to dry my lips. Worse than that is the tint! It looks like white concealer on your lips - horrible :(

Love the smell of this- kind of fruity and sweet, the moisturizing factor is about average. As for the color... I personally love it because it's a light pink/nude with a slight shimmer that really helps to play down by super- pigmented lips. If you have naturally lighter lips this probably isn't for you, and I could see where a lot of people don't really like the color. If you have highly pigmented lips that you want to tone down without wearing a heavy lip color, I recommend this.

The color is disgusting. It's not as moisturizing as the other range. The only plus is that is has a fruity scent

I really like the smell, it's amazing. But the color is terrible. I can't stand it. Even though it moisturizes, the color kills it.

I liked the cherry softlips. The pearl version is OK too except you can only put a very light layer on your lip otherwise you will look like a zombie. I am trying to use it as a base for my lipstick now but will not buy it again anymore.

I'm a big fan of vanilla Soft Lips and this Pearl version came in a bonus set that I purchased. However, I cannot get past the smell. It is nauseating to me because it reminds me of sickly sweet berry-ish medicine and it's very strong. The color itself isn't too bad; it tones down my pigmented lips well. I also didn't find it to be moisturizing; it felt like it was just sitting on my lips. Please give the other Soft Lips a try though; the vanilla one in particular works really nicely for me and the smell for that one is amazing. This one just isn't my favorite.

HATE this product. It looked absolutely gorgeous on the shelf at Target, but once I actually tried it...bleck. The taste is unplaceable but revolting, and the color is...well...awful. I thought it would be a shimmery pink. Nope! It was a whitish-purplish-nudish color. The only thing I liked about this was the fact that it came with a free Vanilla chap stick, which was unfortunately very cheaply made and fell apart quickly.
Also...a few weeks ago I saw a similar product marketed. This time it said something about pink, and had a pink-tinted cap, making it look like it was indeed pink. Nope again! It was the same "Pearl" product with different packaging.
I have two of these if anyone wants them. They will be sitting in my makeup drawer until I can find someone to give them to.

I got this in a two pack with the Vanilla one (which is one of my faves). And I have to admit that I very much dislike this product. This stuff looked way prettier in the tube. It looks gross on. When I applied it on my lips all I got was shimmery frost and nothing else. I rarely reach for this stuff and will only use if there is no other choice. I still gave it a two though because I like the packaging and the smell. I still find this smooth and moisturizing but not as much as the other regular Softlips. Definitely will not repurchase.

This was the first tinted lip product I had bought. I purchased this in a two pack with the original Vanilla Softlips which I intended to try. At my Target, it only cost $2.99. At first, with this lip balm, I thought the packaging was very cute since it is so small and thin. The formula is pretty softening. It has SPF 15 which is a pro. The lip conditioner is this pretty frosty pink color with fine, non chunky grains of shimmer. But the reason I don't like this product that much is that the color is SUPER frosty on your lips.. like putting powdered sugar on your lips. I didn't think that it would look like this on my lips. I thought it would be a lot more subtle. The product is also not easy to actually smooth onto your lips though it has a soothing, tingly feeling that lasts a short amount of time. Sadly, I would never dare to wear this product in public. The frostiness is just unsightly and if your lips have peeling skin or are chapped looking, this product will just make that even more noticeable. If you only apply a thin layer of the product, your lips look incomplete and just silly. I recommend this only if you like the frosty lip look. If you are looking for something more towards lip care, I recommend the regular Softlips product.
