i feel it only works when i flat iron my hair because blow-drying it with this product gives it a weird texture.
however, it is awesome when i use my flat iron and it makes my hair stick straight, but silky smooth.

I just tried this product and I am very impressed! I usually blow-dry my hair straight then go over it with a straightening iron. Today I just used this then blow-dried it straight and did not have to use the iron. It looked so good and was so straight after blow-drying. Redken Straight really lives up to it's name. Highly recommended!

This product is light but very effective. I applied before drying and was pleased at how my hair was smooth but did not feel sticky or coated. Also left hair soft and shiny.

I have somewhat wavy, fine, thick hair. This helps to smooth and straigten my hair without weighing it down. I apply this and then blowdry with a round brush. All I have to do it just flat iron the odd piece and I'm good to go. I found that Redken's Align 12 was great but it weighed it down. Straight is weighless and leaves no "product" feeling to the hair. I only need a small dime sized amount so a tube lasts for quite a while.

I don't think this product was any better than Beyond The Zone 'Straight Shot" found at Sally's. I'll get the Straight Shot next time.

I just used this product and love how it makes my hair feel; light, shiny and smooth with no coated feeling. I had a bad experience using the Joico straight smoother and stickiness. This product absorbs into the hair and really protects angainst the blow dryer. I will definitely purchase again.

This is the absolute best straightening product I have ever used, and believe me, I am a hair product junkie. It has a feels like a slippery gel and does not really have any scent. I have tried Kerastase, Phytologie, Fekkai, Paul Mitchell, Biolage -- you name it. If your hair is like mine (thick, but very fine, and really prone to frizz) then get this product. I also like the way it gives my hair a lot of slip. I can't rave enough about it!

I'm very picky about hair styling products. I don't want anything that will make my "fine but a lot of it hair" sticky, dry, greasy, oily, or stiff. I love Redken's Straight. I actually use it to make my wavy hair more defined. My hair holds a curl much better with Straight and feels soft, touchable, and healthy. You don't get the crunchies either with this product. It also helps to detangle my long hair too. Unlike other products I don't feel as if it's coating my hair. It doesn't feel powdery or stiff either. I buy this over and over again which is a good indication that I love a product. I'm usually so finicky.

LOVE this straightening balm!! Best one I've tried (and I've tried A LOT)! This is perfect for my thin, fine, curly hair when I straighten it. I like it even better than my Matrix smooth.line Lite Relaxing Creme (which used to be my favorite). I feel like Straight does a wonderful job helping me straighten my curls, but also does not weigh my hair down or make it feel 'coated' at all. It also totally shines like a serum but without that horrible sticky silicone feeling that takes forever to dry. I love that it makes my hair soft, shiny, straight, and manageable without stickiness, dryness, stifness, dullness and coating, or greasiness (at least one of which is usually the case with all other straightening products). It seems to be the best of all worlds. I must say, however, that it's not a super-strong straightener (Align 12 is stronger) and may not work as well for super-kinky or thick coarse curls, but for fine, thin hair like mine, it's perfect! Smells great, too, and comes in a huge squeeze tube that's sure to last me a year or so! Well worth the price (esp. when you can get it on sale like at Ulta or Trade Secret -- they'll run a 'buy-one-get-one-50% off' sale often, so you can get Straight and Outshine -- my perfect combination -- for a little less)!

I'm surprised this isn't rated higher....

It worked wonders for me. I slick some biosilk onto my hair first then follow up with Straight then blow dry. This product works so well that all I have to do is run my hair through the straightening iron once or twice quickly for a really finished look. Then I put another small amount of biosilk onto the ends and any parts of my hair that look "processed" and it looks shiny, has volume, and gleams healthily.

** If this isn't working for you consider that you're blow drying / brush technique may be working against you. I get my best results when I section, then pull my hair taut until that section is completely dry. Time consuming but better that excessive flat ironing. **

Love this product for flatironing (wich I do a lot). It makes my hair a lot less fluffy if I leave it in when my hair is drying on it's own, which is also a plus. You don't need to use a lot of it, it glides onto the hair easily. Best part: is not greasy at all. I use a lot of serums and treatments to moisturize my dry hair and I don't need more of the same. I feel like it makes my hair EASIER to flatiron, it glides through my hair smoother somehow. I've also noticed that it makes my hair less likely to start to curl if it's humid outside.

Out of the straightening balms/creams/lotions I've tried it's definitely the best. Big plus that it's not at all sticky, and that it doesn't feel like a STYLING product in the hair (don't know how to describe it but when I put on dry hair, it feels more like conditioner feels on wet hair.) You don't need much product for a good result.

Best straightening balm I've bought. It has a slightly runny texture, so it spreads evenly and quite well. I have long, thick, wavy hair. Sometimes it smooths just enough when I put it in my hair wet, comb it, and let it air dry.

It straightens well without intense blow drying, i.e., I can just hold the dryer to my hair and brush straight down, and this makes my hair straight. However, no straightening balm can do the job of a straightening iron :)

Second best - V05 Straight Hair. Very good for the price, but it caused breakouts, so I stopped using it on the hair near my face. As long as I do that, it is a great product as well. Never had breakouts with Redken.

Horrible product. My hair is usually wavy, and slightly frizzy. To style my hair, I usually only straighten my hair with a blow dryer in the front pieces since it's strangely curly. This product made my hair feel fake, greasy and didn't make it straight at all. It made it look a little bit more relaxed but other than that it didn't do anything. Good thing though, it doesn't have a smell...

It's good, but not the best. I find it to be *just* a tad too heavy. Also, doesn't have the world's best humidity protection. If you have thicker hair, this may be better.

I have thick hair which I straigthen about 2-3 times a week. This makes my hair really smooth and lessens my flyaways. I find that on the days when I do straighten my hair, I have to blow dry my hair while its still really wet or else I get a lot for frizz and flyaways. I also have to give my hair a couple of days in between straightening. I love this product, i thnk it works really well. I would definately buy it agian.

This is my HG straightener! It works wonders on my long curly/wavy (it's a bit of both) hair and leaves it very soft. Even better, it STAYS straight even after exposure to humidity, wind, and even rain. Highly recommended if your hair is very porous and hard to straighten.

This product works wonders on ethnic hair! I half persian half black so my hair needs some smoothing and straightening. Its unbelivable how great this product works. I was amazed. Its great on my ends because it smooths them out. Highly recommended for ethinic hair.

This product did absoulutly nothing for my hair .It felt discusting and the the smell is gross to me .
So far I don't like the redken styling treatment range it makes my hair coated .

I like redken straight a lot. I have severely damaged hair, and no matter what people say on here, my hair just isnt usually compatible with anything! ((it used to be straight, but from becoming course, its become curly)).
when i used this, i used about a quarter size dollop, and apply it before i straighten my hair.((it doesnt work for me with only blowdrying)).it keeps it frizz free, and a lot straighter than most products throughout the day, although not stick straight.
